Reviews for APA Hotel Nagasaki Ekimae
Review 1:The rooms are very very small, not even suitable for 2 guests with big luggage.
Review 2:Great location. Convenient. Opposite Nagasaki station, just 5 minutes walk from the station. You can see the hotel building from Nagasaki station.
Review 3:This hotel in at an excellent location in terms of transportation. The Nagasaki main station and the city tram stop are just across the street; next to its door there is intercity bus terminal, and a Nissan Rent-A-Car. The variety of selections of transportation are all in 5 minutes walking distance. The staff is considerate and friendly, willing to help. Overall, our two nights of stay at this hotel were pleasant. This is a hotel that you pay a considerably low rate but benefit a lot more from that.
Review 4:Room extremely small and spring on the bed are over-compressed thruusage - leading to a feeling of nausea from inclination.
Review 5:Next door to the Bus Terminal - good connectivity to places like Unzenand Fukuoka Airport.
Review 6:The room was really dirty. Staff don't speak English very well.
Review 7:Excellent position. 5 minutes from the train station and 2 minuted from tram stop.
Review 8:The bed is very tiny and was not very comfortable for two people however that is obvious when booking (it was not a suprise) and it is ok for one night.
Review 9:The location is great, across the road from the jr station (you can use a lift up and down the over pass). Minimal interaction with staff but they seemed pleasant enough.
Review 10:Really the only place in Japan where people were not friendly at all. Our room was without any sunlight (window faced wall) and so tiny that only the bed fit in and you had to climb over it to get to the bathroom.Furthermore the water tap system is just a nightmare and awefully loud (you're room mate will be awake if you use it at night). As we didn't have space in our room to have our sandwich lunch, we went down to the breakfast room. But although we were obviously not bothering anybody (room was empty and dark) we were kicked out by the hotel staff with the hint that it is only allowed to sit in the lobby on the (quiet uncomfortable and grubby) sofa between the luggage of all other travelers. After we did so, we were advised by the receptionist that eating is not permitted in the lobby - everything else but service orientated and hospitable. There are so many other way nicer and cheaper hotels.
Review 11:Only the proximity to the station.
Review 12:The first non-smoking room that they gave me smelled like smoke, but then they moved me to another room. I had booked a single room, but they gave me a twin (both rooms were twins). The room was sooooooooo small and could barely fit 2 beds. They provided a suitcase rack, but there was NO PLACE to put the suitcase rack! Also, when they hold your luggage, they just put it in the lobby behind a rope, which didn't seem secure to me at all. So I opted to pay for a locker at the train station.
Review 13:Close to train station. Clean.
Review 14:Room, especially the bathroom, really small.
Review 15:Very good location - Just opposite Nagasaki JR station! The location happens to be a bonus to us as we went from Nagasaki to Unsen, the bus terminal is just next block to the hotel!
Review 16:The room was very small and there was almost no space to leave the luggage.
Review 17:The hotel is located right in front of the train station and easy to find. Using the bus or train you can go anywhere from there. There's a shopping mall and lots of restaurants close by.
Review 18:The room is very small, it's ok for two people but the suitcases could be problematic.
Review 19:The location is great, right next to the train station. The staff is friendly and speaks english. The room is clean and equipt whit everything one might need during the stay.
Review 20:The room was tight and dangerous; the bed was blocking the way to the door. Climbing over the bed was the only way to get the luggage to the room.
Review 21:Good location near the railway station.
Review 22:Given the poor soundproof vehicle noises from the main road can be heard in midnight which was a bit annoying. Water temperature from the shower wasn't steady (I was staying in the top floor and it might be the reason)
Review 23:Location and tidiness of room were great. I was staying in a single room, and while the room wasn't spacious it is acceptable relative to most other Japanese hotels.
Review 24:The hotel is showing its age and needs to be renovated. The price was pretty outrageous for an austere, business hotel. We had to book two rooms since no twin rooms were to be had in Nagasaki during Golden Week.
Review 25:Good location near the train station
Review 26:CLeanliness could have been better. The drain in the bathroom was filthy. And I had difficulties finding the space to open my suitcase. Although I am aa smoker,no smoking room in another hotel has reeked this unpleasantly.
Review 27:Excellent location with a good view. They let me in before checking-in time.
Review 28:Very small room size Too cramped up Not for family of 3 even though it was said that any child not requiring a bed can stay for free but its too cramped for even 2 people
Review 29:Location Cleanliness Staff Great for business layover
Review 30:Had some problems at the reception. Bad smell in the room. Very expensive room, which wasn't worth it.
Review 31:Very good location. Atombomb Museum is nearby.
Review 32:1. The room I had was extremely small. There was barely room to set my suitcase on the floor. 2. One tile in the bathroom floor, in front of the sink, is extremely weak. When I arrived it was already cracked. When I requested it be replaced, it was replaced with another tile that was also made of poor quality. The only solution was to step around it.
Review 33:1. The location. 2. I am a non-smoker. At the time I made my reservation, there were no non-smoking rooms available. The staff kindly provided me with a non-smoking room when I arrived.
Review 34:The room is rather small but I guess it's a APA feature. Otherwise everything else was great!
Review 35:The hotel is located at a perfect location! Overlooking the Nagasaki hotel, it is in front of the pedestrian cross, bus stop, and tram stops! The room is small enough to have everything you need.
Review 36:Room and bathroom were super tiny. Even by Japanese hotel standards. Floor and sink in bathroom were cracked. Seemed dirty and unsanitary. Toilet has to be flushed using a button on the side. It takes superhuman strength to flush it.
Review 37:Location was amazing!
Review 38:Hard to operate laundry as all instructions in Japanese and staff had little English. Had requested early check in which was accepted but not available when we arrived.
Review 39:Location suited us for an early morning departure by train. Street car stop was just down street and once we discovered the lift to get up to the overhead walkway across the street it was very easy with luggage.
Review 40:This hotel was a dump and a quite expensive one at that. Even by Japanese standards our room was tiny; a 120cm bed squeezed into a 180 cm alcove; one side squashed against a window that provided no light because it was hard up against the brick wall of the next building. The bathroom was the tiniest we encountered in a month-long journey. Impossible to shower without splashing water all over the floor. The air conditioning was inefficient and provided not comfort in such an airless room. Also we heard every sound along the passageway outside. . For this we paid more than the price of rooms in many other comfortable hotels. Not surprisingly reception wanted our credit card before we saw the room.
Review 41:Nothing
Review 42:Hotel smells of stale smoke in all areas. Rooms are very small not very clean and need repair. We actually cleaned the aircon filter and bought deodoriser from store to enable us to be able to sleep. Sorry but one of the worst places we have ever stayed
Review 43:Location was close to station
Review 44:The room I had was very narrow. It wasn't much of a problem for me, but someone taller would have found it very small.
Review 45:The location was excellent, with access to three different kinds of public transport on the doorstep, as well as being opposite a shopping mall.
Review 46:it's a smoking friendly place, you can smell it already in the elevator and lobby. our room did have windows that faced a wall -> no real sun light. small room, a bit you pay only for being close to the train station. overall it's okay if stay no more than a night until you find a proper hotel.
Review 47:very close to train station - can be too loud when you try to catch some sleep.
Review 48:Reasonable price, perfect location. recommended for a single traveler since the room is quiet small. I thought it was kind of cozy, but wouldn't be good for two people.

Review 71:the comfort and the location of the hotel.
Review 72:- Small room and small bed, even for Japanese standards.
Review 73:+ Location. + Microwave oven and vending machines available for guests.
Review 74:Huge discrepancy between price and hotel standard, 21,000 Y/night for this kind of single room without breakfast are shame
Review 75:We had a room with an amazing view of the hillside & monuments
Review 76:A basic business Hotel for one or two nights, located next to the central station.
Review 77:The room is too small.

Review 102:Good location, very near to Nagasaki jr station and city tram station
Review 103:The room was quite small for two people
Review 104:Convenient location Clean
Review 105:A little noisy with the busy main Street of Nagasaki right below.
Review 106:A beautiful little hotel at the very center of Nagasaki. Clean, light and very well-maintained. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful in every way.
Review 107:Don't stay in this hotel.I have stayed in over 20 Japanese hotels. This was the smallest room I have encountered. It was also the dirtiest. Black damp mold behind the curtain. Carpet not cleaned adequately. Hand basin had unhygienic surface cracks.Tiny bathroom. Beds not remade properly. Not the usual Japanese hotel standard. Tired hotel and staff it seems. Not value for money. Avoid it. The accommodation spoilt the time in Nagasaki.
Review 108:The only aspect of the hotel I liked was the location. The location was reasonable in that it is opposite the train station. However you need to take stairs to cross the streets and this is awkward if luggage is heavy.
Review 109:The rooms are clean but very small. Having big luggage might cause inconveniences. For me, the bed was too hard and I missed a second pillow which is actually standard for hotels in Japan.
Review 110:The location next to Nagasaki Station very good and convenient. For a short sightseeing or business stay it is sufficient
Review 111:Tiny room and miniscule bed, not big enough for two adults to sleep comfortably. Bed and bathroom were the smallest we stayed in on our trip.
Review 112:Great location across the street from the train station, view of the 26 martyrs' monument from room. Breakfast was good too.
Review 113:very practical location between sites to the north and the south. Beautiful temples and views from just behind. Food close by and hotel is situated over the road from the station.
Review 114:The hotel is rather tired and could do with a spruce up. The rooms are tiny.
