Review 1：The fact that the water kept running out at the most inappropriate times.... very annoying and the explanation offered was poor. Also wifi was a huge problem when you choose the hotel for business reasons!

Review 5：I felt the staff at the reception area was not friendly. We booked for our stay months in advance and requested an early check in as our flight landed at 6:55 am, but that was not taken into consideration and we were forced to wait until 2pm to check in, even though we saw people check out much earlier while we waited for 2pm. The cleaning services were poor. Everyday after cleaning, the room was still dusty, the only thing they did was make the bed and replace the towels. We were told the bedding would be changed after 3 days, even that never happened during our entire stay. I believe for the price we paid, the experience could have been better. I think Ocean Villas has the potential to be a very very God resort, however they need to train their front desk and cleaning staff in customer service. My feeling was they are just doing their job to get a paycheck at the end of the month, however they need to also have a passion for customer service and what they do. They are the ones who determine your experience at the end of the day.

Review 7：Cleanliness - not what is expected from a hotel... smelly! The room is too far from the bar and restaurant. No animation on a Friday night nor a Saturday night. Took on half board, food was not what we were expecting for the price we paid. Not worth the money! rather book a four star hotel on all-included it turns out to be the same price when you add all your drinks. Staffs are so unprofessional.

Review 8：Cockroaches and mosquitos in the room! Checked out early because we weretold we had to change to an inferior room despite confirmed booking for6 nights! Totally unjustifiable or unsubstantiated complaints from otherguests about allegedly loud music being played till 6:30am was totallymishandled by so-called Guest Relations Manager ... we were fast asleepin bed at the time!!! An unbelievable experience for all the wrongreasons and would never stay in this place again!

Review 9：Close proximity to Grand Baie and Northern Coast ... thankfully afterwalking out in disgust half way through our booked stay we were able tofind superior accommodation 10 minutes away, at a cheaper rate withbetter facilities, food offerings and superb staff ... at the Coin deMire (Attitude Group of Hotels) instead!

Review 10：Spacious and airy room but fixtures and fittings look a bit tired; overall finish could do with some attention, e.g. repainting. Private beach at a very blustery position on the bay and didn't seem to be very popular with anyone

Review 11：Welcoming, friendly professional staff. Feels secluded enough while being close enough to a decent selection of restaurants/shops and the excellent Mont Choisy public beach (just as well as the hotel's private beach is a waste of time)

Review 12：The staff are not helpful and lazy. The solar geysers in your room don't work and if they do only allow one person to shower then cold again. The new wing is far from the bar so if we need a refreshment it is a long walk. the new wing requires you to walk along the tiny beach which if yo are wearing shows are soaked from the sea, no walk way. The wind doesn't stop at this hotel so you can not make use of the beach and water sports, you have to travel to another beach, no within walking distance. The food was extremely average. same thing every day.

Review 17：Very nice villa style room (Duplex) with pool views, music stops at 10pm sharp, very nice and clean pool, great staff. Very relaxing setting. Parking just behind each room/house.

Review 19：Generally speaking price to relative everything was good. It provides a luxury hotel, yet at a more affordable price. Private beach, some water activities included with the stay, quality bufffet. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, giving a nice island experience. Around the area are some nice restaurants, Italian, Indian. If you are looking for small and nice, it's the perfect choice.

Review 26：We arrived at midnight to welcoming drink, there was no water in the room as they don't give free bottle every day and nothing in the bar fridge. We can't take a chance and drink tap water so we spent a thirsty first night. Wi fi is very weak. Requested a price for a taxi to our next resort and the front desk lady never bothered to come back to me so we used a local guy.

Review 37：The basic room was tiny and dated. Pool or sea view rooms are much better but more pricey and needs to be booked early. Reception staff didn't seem willing enough to accommodate my numerous requests for another room. Hotel transfers and scooter rentals are pricey - worthwhile to make your own arrangements and negotiate rates if possible.

Review 39：A/c in one bedroom and fridge were not fixed in spite of repeated requests. One bathroom had no shower cubicle or curtain - bath floor was messed after a shower.Was eventually moved to another villa on our 4th day. Though my card account was debited in full on booking, I was told by reception that payment was not made and I had to process my credit card again.

Review 41：The buffet food was really not nice and EXTREMELY overpriced. Our shower drain was blocked when we got there, they did repair it. We rarely had hot water for a shower and this was blamed on solar power heating. I found it quite unexceptable for the price per night charged, to not have hot water.

Review 48：We decided to book a budget hotel, so we were really suprised at how modern and stunning the bedroom was.Confy bed with shower ,bath and his .hers sink. A delicious hot breakfast buffet was available as well as a continental breakfast. Free water ski , snorkelling,glass boat and bubba rides on Mon, Wed and Fri. Umbrella and towels to use on external outings, so no need to pack your own. Friendly reception staff. Will definately visit hotel again. Grand baie is an ideal lively location

Review 57：The fact that my wife and I came to the hotel to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary, we were not satisfied, for one reason is that the room where we stayed seemed so far away from the hotel, it seems we were cut off from the real hotel life and entertainment. After dinner, both of us walked thru the shore, all alone with a chilly breeze whistling over us and it seemes we were the only 2 people on planet earth. Reason why I did not answer all the questions above. Anyway, it was a special experience for us to celebrate the wed anif.

Review 58：There were ants in the room and you have to go through sand to the main part. The reception staff tried to super overcharge me when I wanted to exchange money and also use local taxi as the hotel one will try to rip you off. Wifi is intermittent.

Review 59：Friendly and helpful staff, free water sports, evening buffet and live music, quiet and relaxed place. Very clean. If you want to rent a car to go around have it booked from the airport and drive around. You have safe parking there too. Restaurants within walking distance and more restaurants, shops and bars, other beaches for a couple of € in the local area.

Good food. Housekeeping staff was excellent and cooperative. Restaurant/bar staff was also friendly and prepared food as per the taste desired. Additional fun water-sport activities (beginner level) on alternate days at no extra cost. Privacy was especially taken care for.

Review 68：There was no welcoming pack in the room. no tea or coffee. not even a cople of tea bags or coffee for start. There was a kettle and couple of cups and saucers. There was not even a bottle of water especially in a hot day. very poor. There was no hair dryer. There was no box of tissue in the room. The fridge was empty. not even paying drinks. Some soft drinks and water with prices could have gone a long way. The apartment was not sound proof. could hear all the noise. people walking and kids running in the apartment above. This disturbed my sleep very early in the morning. Also can hear loudly the cleaners talking and all the clincks and clunks.

Review 118：I did not like my first room, was very dark and dingy and uncomfortable. The kettle in this room was horribly dirty. I was moved upon request to another room which was only slightly better. the second room was spacious and brighter but there were terribly annoying sounds in the room and bathroom all day and all night. There was a horrible smell coming out of the shower drain and the staff were unable to fix it. This hotel does not offer a large variety of TV channels - so you are at a huge disadvantage if you cannot speak French.

Review 122：We stayed at the Ocean Villa Hotel and everything was excellent. The staff were very friendly and you get a very relaxed feeling because of the beautiful garden. The bus stop was right outside the hotel and this made it easy when going to the city or anywhere else. The room (honeymoon suit) and the bathroom was very big. They offered a free tube ride which was awesome.

Review 125：The birds were nesting in the roof and kept me up all night with their chirping and cooing. We also had small, dark pellets on the bed, which may have come from the birds. The bed itself was awful. It was extremely squeaky. Every time you turned, or even made the slightest movement, it squeaked loudly. This added to the lack of sleep. The room was by the main road, so the traffic was easily heard through the timber roof and birds' nests! My husband's feet were a foot off the end of the small bed. The pool needs to be painted and cleaned.

I had to pay for internet while I could have had it for free, no one informed me. No information about the possibilities of excursions.

Review 131：The lack of Wi-Fi, made it inconvinent. I could understand it is difficult to get Wi-Fi in each individual room, but you could provide Wi-Fi at the pool side bar. There was no spa available at all.

Review 132：I was able to get away. It provided the tropical enviorment that allowed for me to relax. The room was clean, the furniture was comfortable. The bartender Seleen (Selena) was awesome! Breakfast was good.
