Reviews for Casa Das Senhoras Rainhas

Review 1:We had a meal in the restaurant. We couldn't complain about it but it wasn't up to the standard we were expecting.

Review 2:Lovely location within the walls of Obidos. Very friendly and helpful staff. Although refurbishment was going on, they kept upheaval and noise to a minimum. We will stay here again.

Review 3:not so clear to reach by car

Review 4:Perfect location in the city center; in summer time it must be great to have room with the terrace in front of the ancient walls. Good breakfast

Review 5:Parking is a real problem inside city walls. May be it should be advised to leave the car outside the walls.

Review 6:Very nice location. Comfortable room, helful stuff.

Review 7:The location, inside the medieval city walls, the friendliness of the personnel, the delicious croissant at breakfast, the view from my window, the comfortable bes.

Review 8:The hotel is in a perfect location, in a quiet street just inside the city walls. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was excellent, probably the best of our entire stay in Portugal. The hotel itself is beautiful, very charming.

Review 9:Lack of strong internet signal in rooms- you had to go to the lounge area-very inconvenient. Elevator unreliable. Room-chipped wine decanter, sink stopper broken, tub surround deteriorating. Parking-difficult to maneuver into the walled city. Continental breakfast is a bit skimpy, then if you want to add an egg, you are charged 2.50 euros per egg.

Review 10:The friendly front desk staff. The amenities; robes, welcome cookies, water, safe, etc. The cleanliness and decor of the rooms.

Review 11:Jumpy bed. Sad room. Wet walls from liking bath. No shampoo at the room. Cheap rug.

Review 12:Interior was ancient architecture and lovely. Good food at dinner. Nice living room.

Review 13:If parking inside the city walls, finding the entrance is a challenge. Driving on the narrow streets is not for the faint of heart - best have full insurance coverage.

Review 14:Amazing location, wonderful friendly staff.

Review 15:There was nothing to not like

Review 16:Very nice clean and comfortable hotel in the walled city so close for walking the walls and seeing the village shops and atmosphere

Review 17:22 inch tv not big enough; from the bed you could hardly see what was happening on screen. The bed was very, very soft.

Review 18:Obidos is a beautiful little walled city and the hotel is within a minute's walk to the main street and fair. The hotel staff were outstanding. Extremely friendly and willing to help with anything.

Review 19:Having to write your breakfast options on a piece of paper the night before and then still having to ask for each thing the next morning! It seems an odd system. We booked three rooms and one wasn't as nice (in the basement and a little bit damp and dark)

Review 20:The staff, the location in lovely obidos. The tower room and upper floor room.

Review 21:Beautiful gem of an inn within the walls. Relaxed and friendly with exceptional attention to detail. Loved our chocolate cake upon arrival! Wish we had one more night.

Review 22:Casa Das Senhoras Rainhas is a very nice hotel in delightful Obidos. It is located right in the center of town, with easy access to restaurants, bars and shops

Review 23:Bathroom gets all wet no matter how careful we are because the shower curtain(glass) covers only one third of the tub. Room is a bit damp.

Review 24:Very helpful staff. Very knowledgable waiter (Vitor) in restaurant. Elegant decor and living room area. Location.

Review 25:The location is conveniently located within the walls and close to the bus stop and historic center and castle walls. Rom was very clean and large with a great view of the castle walls. Staff was very friendly and always helpful! I would highly recommend this hotel to friends!

Review 26:It's a bit stiff. Service is ultra formal. The restaurant is nice but the prices are eye-watering. The place just has a faded and tired feel to it. Back wall facing the town wall needs a paint. Eggs at breakfast are €5 extra - when the room costs €130, that's not good. Breakfast should be free.

Review 27:Comfortable room, a home from home feel to the place. Conveniently located within the walls. Liked the honesty bar. I had one small whisky and they decided not to charge it.

Review 28:All of the staff was so friendly, they really made us feel welcome. We can definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet & romantic hotel with a very good restaurant in a touristic, but still idyllic medieval village

Review 29:The location, the staff and Obidos,,,,

Review 30:Very friendly and helpful.

Review 31:Driving by car it was impossible to find. The Sat Nav was no help. Clear directions plus a map are essential.

Review 32:A lovely place to stay.

Review 33:view from the room to garden only, average breakfast

Review 34:big, nice room in wonderful but silent location within city walls

Review 35:Location

Review 36:Excellent location and wonderful service.

Review 37:Difficult to find but worth the effort.

Review 38:Loved location inside the old walls Freshly prepared breakfast

Review 39:Locating and parking a challenge but worth it

Review 41:Liked it all

Review 42:Superb service from front office lady

Review 43:Comfortable rooms, good breakfast and very helpful staff. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent.

Review 44:Atendimento, café da manhã

Review 45:Wish we had stayed additional nights, can't wait to return!!

Review 46:A beautiful stay inside the walls of a castle! The room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We even had our own private balcony where we enjoyed our breakfast. No detail was forgotten here. We chose this hotel because it was within the walls of the castle and it had an elevator. Upon our arrival we enjoyed the fresh fruit, water, chocolate cakes and Ginja! The room was exceptional and the staff were professional, kind and helpful! The breakfast included with our stay was delivered precisely at our desired time. The breakfast was delicious! The plush robes provided were so very comfortable too! Staying here was truly a dream come true! We highly recommend the Casa Das Senhoras Rainhas!

Review 47:A bit of a slog from Obidos railway station as this hotel is located on the farthest lower side of town from the station - but an easy walk from the main car park (with tourist office)

Review 48:The welcoming bowl of fruit and cakes which we had as lunch, as well as the gingha. The balcony to relax on. The breakfast. Th staff were particularly helpful about trains, ringing up the adjacent town's ticket office to check ticket purchase, which then enabled us to buy tickets for the next week's trains.

Review 49:The breakfast experience was great but spoilt by the (extra cost) American breakfast being cold and obviously not their forte

Review 50:Fantastic location Wonderful experience

Review 51:Hotel restaurant was horrible for dinner. Breakfast every day (which youcan get in your room) was great but dinner was another story. Veryexpensive for what you got with poor service. I don't mind payingfor a good meal (we recently had a multi-hundred dollar lunch in Francethat was outstanding) but for dinner I paid about $30 for a piece ofbeef "tenderloin" that was about 2 inches by 2 inches and lessthan 1/2 thick. You'd get more meat from chicken feet. So go forthe rooms, location, and breakfast. Just eat lunch and dinner somewhere, actually anywhere, else.

Review 52:Great hotel inside the walls of Obidos. Reception staff were absolutelyoutstanding. Very very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Freshbottles of water, cookies and ginja (local liqueur) included every day.Very clean although our room did have some recent flood or water damage.

Review 53:Not really a 'dislike', but reaching hotel by car is a bit tricky (very narrow streets). Suggest on arrival park on outskirts near aqueduct and walk short distance to hotel to check route.

Review 54:Very central, quiet and clean, with excellent breakfast. Really helpful and friendly staff. Nice little extras such as cake, drink and fruit left in room. Good wifi connection in communal areas.

Review 55:Getting to it........the directions into the hotel were a bit hard andnavigating the roads was not easy.

Review 56:The whole feel of the place from when we walked in to when we left. Veryhelpful friendly staff and the room was awesome.

Review 57:Wifi not available in rooms. I had to sit in the lovely salon to update photos and send emails and do minor business communications . Rather inconvenient...

Review 58:Beautiful setting, elegant amenities, fruit, port wine in room, bathrobes, terrace, nice dining room and ample breakfast. Comfortable and nicely decorated common areas. Superior personal service!

Review 59:Overall this was our least favorite place to stay in Portugal.First roomwas very moldy and we were relocated. Just ok. Not great for the price.

Review 60:Good location, nice staff

Review 61:We wished we didn't have as much luggage to roll over the hillycobblestoned streets but that was our fault , not the hotels.

Review 62:Inside the city walls, the service was wonderful and the room verycomfortable. We enjoyed the great breakfast and the extras in the roomsuch a bathrobes, wine, fruit and cake.

Review 63:delecious food

Review 64:We could not stop the light to enter our room in the morning.
