Reviews for Casa Do Relogio
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:The location was perfect for our house hunting trip. The facilities were comfortable and very clean,.The towels were changed daily regardless of use. staff very helpful and friendly despite our lack of Portuguese, We would definitely stay here again.
Review 3:Parking was not easy, but considering the location and narrow streets, not surprising. Breakfast was not served till nine. We preferred earlier, but all of Portugal seems to start late. Rooms small, but to be expected considering the location.
Review 4:Very close to the city center. Beautiful old style room recently redone. Lovely stay in a lovely city.
Review 5:There is one parking place right next to the hotel, but you can find more just 50 -100 meters from the hotel door. The hotel is placed on a sloping street.
Review 6:Obidos is a very nice and medieval town. It's more than recommended to stay there for 1 night. The hotel is a 18th century house with two levels of rooms (approx. 10 rooms), a dinning room and a nice terrace. The rooms are little bit small, but nice and clean. In a bathroom we had a shower cabbin and it's also small, but it seams to be clean. The breakfast is nice and pleasant. The owner / meneger Sarah is a comunicative, helpfull and open person. We enjoyed to stay there...
Review 7:Bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable made for a poor nights sleep
Review 8:Absolutely beautiful setting and a very quaint old building. Lovely staff made us feel very welcome.
Review 9:The house is quite old and the rooms/bathrooms are very small.
Review 10:The host was very friendly, location was good. Ok for one night but I wouldn't recommend it for longer stay.
Review 11:There were only 4 tables for breakfast, so I had to wait 45 minutes until a table was free
Review 12:Friendly staff, gorgeous large terrace to relax on with a view. Very clean & fresh
Review 13:It was a very nice and centrally situated hotel! Sarah and Martha did a great job to welcome us and to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you for it! We enjoyed it so much.
Review 14:Nothing!!!!
Review 15:Sara and her staff were wonderful, lovely breakfast made you feel right at home, loved the terrace overlooking the castle and surroundings. Great location.
Review 16:Everything inside the room: The furniture is old and the bed are old, simple and loud. The shower should be renovated, some electrical plugs were broken and some lights didn't work. Breakfast is too simple: just one piece of bread+cheese+ham (or bread + jam) + drinks. I would recommend to take a breakfast somewhere outside.
Review 17:Everything outside the room: The location is good, the hotel looks nice from the outside it has a very pleasant terrace.
Review 18:The bed was uncomfortable.
Review 19:The woman in charge of the hostel is very helpful (both English and French). Nice terrasse outside. Near the inner part of the town.
Review 20:We loved the building itself, so nicely decorated and freshly painted. Even better we liked Sara, who made us feel at home and took care of our every need.
Review 21:The hotel is next to the wall of the old city. We walked for hours in the old city.In the evenings we sat on the veranda and enjoyed the view and fresh air
Review 22:The beds were too firm and windows would not stay open. The bathroom appropropriate for the age of the building but quite tight.
Review 23:The Location was excellent and the room size more than met our needs. The manager was very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast room a charm with fresh local product.
Review 24:Convenient location close to good restaurants. Sara, who runs Casa do Relogio, is very kind and helpful. She made us feel at home. We had a great experience.
Review 25:First, I made a mistake, I should not come to Obidos by train...because the train station is on the hill foot, and the castle and local people live on the hill top... ... travel to Obidos by bus is better. About this hotel, I don't like the dark green color on the doors and some furnitures. This color is easy to make the mood heavy. If this nice house need renovation in the future, try some other light colors, will be better?
Review 26:Just beside the castle, easy walk to other place of Obidos (in fact this is a tiny city, hahaha). The room is clean, quiet, and the bed is very comfortable. Only one day in this nice and traditional style hotel is not enough.
Review 27:No check-in after 6pm
Review 28:Great location in the middle of beautiful medieval town, friendly staff, family-run place with nice atmosphere, free wi-fi in room, fantastic terrace
Review 29:It was bit cold during the night, so I`ve turned on the heating in the room. -the it became too stuffy. It was dissapointing you can`t pay by card there.- I just didn`t expect that.
Review 30:Welcoming! Excellent view from the room! Nice breakfast.
Review 31:The room stinked horribly, even my Sleeping T-shirt stinked afterwards. The Bed was not very comfortable.
Review 32:Staff very nice and friendly. Great Location. Especially the Terrace was such a lovely Scene.
Review 33:Stay one night in a traditional house is not always comfortable, but this one is really worth to try!!!
Review 34:cozy terrace, nice staff, powerful heater, comfortable bed.
Review 35:Central location, friendly, helpful staff, breakfast included, reliable wifi, vety nice house with terrace. Rooms as in all accomodatipns somewhst cool in autumn/wintertime. Would definitely return!!
Review 36:the location is great. It is about 200 meter from the bus stop, the bus stop which bus arrived from Lisbon. Just 50 meter walk to the entrance of the castle. The heater is warm enough. The room is comfortable and clean. The breakfast is very basic.
Review 37:thin wall We could hear everything from other rooms And as I reserved late, there was only left the room with tiny windows, which was far different from the pictures
Review 38:Location Very near to the town center The service was good
Review 39:Was cold in the room, bed was too small for 2 people with a baby, the room was tiny and breakfast was very basic
Review 40:Location is perfect, old style authentic house
Review 41:The location is best for those that are traveling light.
Review 42:The location was perfect. The facilities fit the character of the village--simple and sweet. It met our basic needs for a clean, comfortable and friendly inn.
Review 43:Nothing. I would highly recommend this guesthouse
Review 44:Value for money Roof terrace with views over Óbidos Great location just outside the walls near the tapas bar and some fantastic restaurants
Review 45:Casa Do Relogio offered great value for money and a good night's sleep. The casa is a traditional heritage building which has been tastefully restored. The terrace was lovely to relax with fabulous views. A bit difficult to find at first because we missed the directional signage, but afterwards it was no problem and being off the main tourist road was nice and quiet.
Review 46:Walls are pretty thin, you can hear people in the other rooms. But it didn't bother us too much.
Review 47:Owner was very lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was simple but good. Rooms were cute and comfortable.
Review 48:There is only one parking place in front of the house and very scarce parking space in the streets nearby, as the streets are very narrow and hilly. The bed could be more comfortable ... It can be noisy at times - our window faced the street at ground level.
Review 49:Very interesting building, nice people and good wi-fi. All in all, the place is to be recommended.
Review 50:Wifi in the room was a little patchy, but the terrace had great reception. Our double room had two single beds pushed together, not really what was expected.
Review 51:Location just outside the city wall was quiet, away from stream of tourists, and with several restaurants within easy walk. The terrace was a great place for a pre-dinner drink and relaxing sit admiring the views. Very good breakfast to start the day. Overall, excellence value for money for a couple spending a few days in Obidos.
Review 52:A bit hard to find but easy access to the old town once found. Wifi is only strong in the dining room.
Review 53:Love the exterior and the terrace of the posada. Breakfast was great and good coffee. The interior decor is excellent as a typical Portuguese posada. Very quiet at night. Can't ask for more!
Review 54:Parking could be a challenge as it is located across the narrow cobblestone road from one of the entrances to the old city. However, we found parking at a strip for about 10 cars 100 meters up the road.
Review 55:Cute, clean, quiet with a lovely rooftop patio overlooking the valley below. The staff was the best!
Review 56:Our beds were small and a little rough, and that is really my only complaint.
Review 57:Sara was terrific and the patio was very comfortable even in a pretty heavy rainstorm. Location is next to a less used, convinient entrance, with a stairway to the top of the wall nearby. Obidos is very cool!
Review 58:Very nice staff, they would try to help everything you need, and allow me to make an early check-in, and little bit late check-out. Cosy room and spacious!!
Review 59:Room was very small. Tiny shower. No TV or AC. Parking on tiny street outside. Ants in room. And breakfast did not start when defined and no answer to access staff (we had to leave our payment in the room with a note and with no breakfast to make a morning appointment).
Review 60:Great location just outside the wall. Patio is a very relaxing spot to chill. Friendly staff.
Review 61:Breakfast was limited but satisfying.
Review 62:We wanted an intimate, cultural lodging experience while visiting this spectacular little village...perfect choice! The inn is situated just outside the wall but only a few minute walk to the all the beautiful sites. Staff was polite, helpful and very pleasant. Beautiful terrace with a lovely view.
Review 63:Casa Do Relogio is charming, especially liked the outdoor terrace. The location is perfect as it is a quick walk to walled Obidos yet quiet and peaceful.
Review 64:Shower was a bit small and quite old (however, in fairness it did add to the charm of the place and experience).
Review 65:The house is very typical Portuguese and very clean. The terrace outside was amazing and perfect for hanging out with friends and enjoying the quiet. Beautiful and peaceful view! Parking was easy and bars/restaurants a 2 min walk away.
Review 66:The bed was not great in the room we had - any movement felt and heard by the other party Not things we didn't like as such, but to be aware of 1. no one english speaking available for check-in/ no reception desk, 2. parking available, but can be a fair walk away
Review 67:Very convenient location near the walls Lovely old building
Review 68:Some of the staff did not speak other language than Portuguese. No free shelf for toiletries or basic stuff, room very small. Could use a bit of refurbishment in the bathroom but still OK.
Review 69:Location just behind the city walls. Charming historical house with character. Nice terrace which we did not use due to poor weather. All very basic and perhaps a bit worn, but comfortable enough for 3 nights.
Review 70:Bathroom bit small
Review 71:Nice size room, great outlook over the village
Review 72:Location, location, location. Oh, and it's a very sweet old building with a lovely sun terrace. Quiet, too, when we stayed.
