Reviews for Finches of Beechworth
Review 1:Peter and Margo were very warm, welcoming people who made our stay extra special. The room was beautiful, the whole house very impressively renovated and decorated. A very relaxing stay. Would visit again!!
Review 2:I was very satisfied.
Review 3:It had beautiful gardens and outdoor areas. Peter and Margot are really service oriented. We enjoyed talking to the other guests at breakfast.
Review 4:Everything was so lovely. Such thought has gone into the details and it's such a classy & comfortable place to stay. Margo and Peter are very kind and welcoming and have thought of everything.
Review 5:The facilities are first rate and the owners and their staff are friendly and generous. Pre-dinner drinks and nibbles in the comfy loungeroom was very enjoyable.
Review 6:Tiny bathroom, impossible to control shower temperature, inefficient bedroom air conditioning. Overpriced for what was offered.
Review 7:The tranquillity, attractive garden, friendly atmosphere, quality of furnishings.
Review 8:The ambience, cosy rooms, soft music, happy hour, comfy bed, quality linen, dressing gowns supplied. Delicious breakfast. Immaculate house and gardens.
Review 9:There was nothing we could fault about our stay. From the warm welcome from Margot and Peter, to evening drinks and tapas on the verandah with fellow guests... through to the decor in the main areas and our beautiful room. The whole stay was lovely. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer to take advantage of the gorgeous gardens. Already planning our next stay!
Review 10:This was our second visit and we were just as impressed as on the first. Everything is of an exceptionally high standard and it's the most beautiful historic house and garden with extremely tasteful decor. We have already booked our next visit.
Review 11:Friendliness of the hosts Margot & Peter, the salt water pool, the beautiful garden, exceptionally clean and a very comfortable room and bed. Highly recommend.
Review 12:I do like to have tea making facilities in the room when I am away but there are none provided. Having said that, we were able to ask for tea/coffee to be made and then take that back to the room, so there is a workaround available.
Review 13:The beautiful gardens are a highlight. Peter and Margot are such friendly hosts - nothing was too much trouble. I especially enjoyed having breakfast on the verandah overlooking the gardens. Also the late afternoon tapas provided is a great idea and Margot offered to bring some out to us sitting in the garden rather than coming inside which we really appreciated.
Review 14:Nothing much to say here. Although the bath (a most important facility for us) was 'down the hall', that did not detract from our enjoyment of the stay.
Review 15:Margo and Peter were very friendly and interesting to talk to. The house and gardens have been very well restored and are most agreeable in their aesthetics and comforts. We enjoyed ourselves from start to finish: at both FInches and Beechworth. We intend to return based upon our experience here.
Review 16:We had to leave!
Review 17:A fantastic house and garden with wonderful hosts. We will be back for sure and have been telling family, friends and work colleagues about Finches of Beechworth since the weekend.
Review 18:Room was small with only one seat. And very dark. Would prefer to breakfast on a small table with my partner rather than share a large table.
Review 19:The grounds and outside was wonderful, drinks and snack on the verandah was a treat and the people very pleasant.
Review 20:The fact that we didn't have the time to stay even longer.
Review 21:Both Margot and Peter were the most friendly hosts, always ready for a chat or to help out with any questions about the town or the accommodation. They have successfully set up their B&B to reflect their own personal tastes and they have fantastic taste indeed! The pool, garden spaces, decking and lounge area were all impeccable. The room was beautifully decorated with wonderful display, pieces of art and furniture, the bed provided us with the most relaxing night's sleep and the en suite was faultless. There were a variety of options available for breakfast that were all delicious and served in the welcoming dining room. Overall it was a wonderful weekend.
