Review 3：Quite a dated property. Lots of mosquitos Dogs on the beach Beach and pool quite small Spa and kids club was outside and separate form the main property so had to walk a fair way to get to them.

I couldn't recommend Merville Beach hotel enough this was our son first family holiday and there is nothing that i would change, the weather was fantastic the location was great, everything we needed was walking distance. Most importantly the staff made us feel welcome.

Review 6：As any major tourist location, what you are provided at the hotel wil always be more expensive. From cabs/drivers/excursions. Which is normal so not really a complaint. Helps to be a 5min walk from a hustling and bustling town. Definitely pick up a bargain there.

Review 7：Great location. Near town where lots of bars and restaurants are located. Hotel set on a lovely beach also. Didn't go all inclusive. Simply had breakfast and ventured out for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend this. Reception desk is mostly helpful also. Some staff are brilliant. Some are Merely ok and do their job so to speak. There is a bus stop outside which will take you straight into town. Costing 12rupees (10p) compared to a cab which will cost 200rupees from the hotel.

Review 10：Our overall stay there was excellent! We were welcomed by the super friendly staff and was very impressed at how professional they were. The rooms were clean & sheek and all other facilities were of high standards. We loved all the free water activities available like pedal boat, water ski, kayaking. It was so fun! And the super friendly lifeguards and staff were there for guidance. The management actually arranged a special birthday surprise together with the live band for my partner at dinner & we got a complimentary birthday cake! It was amazing :) thank you Merville beach. I will definitely be reccomending to friends and family.

Review 11：Booking.com offered half-board for additional 30EUR p.P., the hotel offers B&B-guests the dinner-buffet for 600 MUR p.P (~15 EUR). So don't book halfboard service, you can upgrade it at the hotel for less money.

Review 13：the bungalow rooms were of poor standard. not very clean and not very well maintained. the showers are an embarrassment to the hotel in general. the breakfast is monotonous as every single day the exact same menu exist. no varieties. for the money I paid this was certainly not worth it. I am a frequent visitor to Mauritius but will certainly give Merville a miss.

Review 20：We spent 5 nights of our 2 weeks on Mauritius at the Merville Beach resort. From the time we arrived, we knew we made the right decision. We were greeted by very friendly staff, moist cloths that smelled exotic, and the best coffee we have ever drank. Our room was spacious and had a balcony with a view of the ocean! The room was light and airy and was beach themed- and VERY close to the beach. The hotels beach is excellent with good sand and palapas, and bar service on the lounges! We had the breakfast package, and thought the breakfast had a great variety of fruit, omelettes, cereals, crepes (pancakes), english breakfast selection, juices, and croissants! The pool area is very inviting, and they have water-robics each morning. The boat house has excellent staff, and provide twice daily snorkeling trips, lots of water activities such as kayaks and wind surfing, They also provide day trips. Each eveing the hotel has entertainment- local bands, dancers, etc. Very good entertainment. We did not have lunch or dinner here, but people we met all said it was quite good. The hotel has a spa- my friend used it and loved it. The real gem is the staff- they were all friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service.

THe diving shop there is a complete failure, small boat, failure dive master who knew nothing about the area and it cost too much, they even charge 10 euros for company who are not diving...very silly...try a PADI certify diving shop in Grand Baie much better.

And a walking distance from the night life and from the busy shopping area in Grand Baie

Review 52：Gran Bay is not particularly exciting. Also, the only way to get to/from the hotel conveniently is via taxi or car, so renting is almost a necessity (though there is plentiful parking). Rooms could use a bit of a refurbishment, but are by no means bad.

Review 53：Superb private beach location, lots of free water activities (snorkelling, sailing, water skiing etc) and easy to book excursions. Good bar, restaurant and very very helpful and friendly staff. Did I mention the beach? Definitely a highlight.

Review 54：Ringing the Hotel a day before checking in, to allow an early check in of 12noon/1pm. Then checking in at 12:45noon & being told my room is not available!! Begging the staff to please check me in, so I can finish off getting ready, to attend a wedding. Geckos in the room. A constant lobby person to flag a taxi for guests, instead of guests having to walk out of hotel, cross the main road, in order to get a taxi!!

Review 57：Perfect beach location with white sands, palm trees, beautiful orange sunsets, comfortable beach loungers and enjoyed the bar and patio verandah setting. Tony and the staff were super efficient and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you for my delicious birthday cake which was waiting in our room after a night of celebration! We enjoyed the island style massage at The Spa and relaxed and made use of the sauna and hamam steam room. The hotel offers complimentary glass bottom boat and snorkelling. Our room was situated in the hotel building overlooking the sea and swimming pool - it was truly magical to wake up to this tropical view every morning!

Review 58：I think the furniture was pretty old. It needs to be changed at the earliest. Moreover, I think the hotel taxis need to be fairly priced and they should not exploit the tourist by charging exorbitant. On the night we reached we asked the hotel taxi to take us barely on a 5 minute drive, we asked him to wait and drive us back. The whole trip was barely 45 minutes long and he took 400 MUR.

Review 59：It was a nice and cozy place. Loved the buffet breakfast every morning. The room was timely cleaned and the staff was very cooperative. They attended to all the issues we faced. Moreover, they also helped us in planning our tours and and arranged a rent a car which was a big relief.

Review 60：The room had moisture damage and for example the bathroom door could not close fully because it was so swollen. Tiles in the bathroom were coming almost loose.
