Reviews for Hunter Valley Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:Breakfast was nice, just thought it was a little lite on. Maybe a small charge for hot breakfast is ok? would definitely stay there again. Rod
Review 2:nice and peaceful
Review 3:We didn't have a bad experience but I didn't like the fact I couldn't lock our bedroom door.
Review 4:Great bedroom with a nice big bed and air conditioning. Beautiful white linen, but best of all both bedroom and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Julie was really friendly and welcoming and it was lovely to sit on the terrace outside our bedroom enjoying a glass of wine watching the kangaroos in the paddock below.
Review 5:Almost everything. No one to meet you when you arrived. Name on blackboard with Room number and key hanging on hook. The amenities describe by booking.com is misleading. The room beside being small, does not have a refrigerator, iron or ironing board, electric kettle, etc. You have to go to breakfast room to find most of these amenities. They only serve a cooked breakfast on the weekends. If staying more then one night, they do not service the rooms. If you go out for dinner it is hard to find the entrance to the B&B if it is dark. We stayed at 18 places while in Australia and this was the most expensive place we stayed. The Hilton hotels in Brisbane and Adelaide were with one dollar of this place. Breakfast was included at both Hiltons.
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:NO person met us when we arrived mid afternoon. We only met the owners the next morning. On one morning we had to fend for ourselves as the owners have another employment and left early about 6am in the morning. Breakfast selection was very poor.
Review 8:1. Breakfast was amazing. We forgot to inform that my wife is Vegetarian but we got a surprise in the form of a lovely Veg breakfast within no time. Really appreciate that.
Review 9:No lounge area for guests or communal indoor room. Breakfast very basic and not as pictured in brochure, cramped seating arrangement. Lack of engagement by hosts - they seem to be very busy with other projects.
Review 10:We had trouble with the lock/key on our door which was slightly frustrating. A cooked breakfast option & basic tea/coffee making facilities or even a glass to have some water from the tap would have been good.
Review 11:The location was great, the room was comfortable.
Review 12:Exterior looked tired and unkept. Parking too far away from accomodation
Review 13:The bedroom was very clean and functional. Continental breakfast was very tasty with fresh fruit.
Review 14:Presentation of room could of been better. A comfortable lounge would of been appreciated. The existing lounge was 90 degrees to the TV.
Review 15:Breakfast was excellent
Review 16:Julie is the best hostess. She made our stay so comfortable. The extra beds were very nice and she even helped us organize a surprise cake for our friend who turned 30. Thanks Julie
Review 17:Dark room and initially felt a bit hemmed in and claustrophobic. Did find 1 window we could open but no fly wire and wind out hopper window, so couldn't open to full extent.
Review 18:Owner very friendly and helpful and bed nice and comfy
Review 19:Beautiful location, gorgeous room and ensuite, huge covered verandah to relax on, delicious hot and cold breakfast on offer. Would highly recommend and we will stay again.

Review 21:Somewhat isolated
Review 22:Very friendly and helpful Manager. Convenient location. Very clean and comfortable Very close to Hunter valley Gardens and Wineries
Review 23:Dog at B&B scratched & a nuisance. The property was advertised for queen & king rooms & I understood this relates to size of bed not room. We booked a king room - small with queen bed. Generally looked like the owners had lost interest. No hot breakfast.
Review 24:The room was clean and the bed was comfortable
Review 25:Creaky floors in passage disturbs guests when other guests return late at night. Many spiders in room including bed posts
Review 26:Breakfast arrangement was very good
Review 27:Super friendly and helpful owners. They gave me directions when I was stressed out and running late, and even gave me a lift down the road in the morning to pick up my car. Cute, cosy and clean house, delicious breakfast, very enjoyable stay.
Review 28:The outlook from the B&B was very picturesque, and the room well appointed with ensuite. The host Julie was very welcoming, and the B&B was located within easy distance of restaurants and vineyards.

Review 56:Friendly hosts. Peaceful location.
Review 57:We left a WFI Modem behind and they arranged to have it delivered to our next hotel the following day
Review 58:Hospitality and the Mojo the dog
Review 59:Good location, very quiet.
Review 60:Beautiful location, excellent host Judy. Very nice and warm welcome. Would recommend this to everybody.
Review 61:The lack of fly screens to the bedroom doors was an issue
Review 62:The communal deck was lovely
Review 63:Comfortable, clean, a beautiful location. Breakfast cooked by our host was delicious.
Review 64:Host Julie is wonderful. The size of the room was great and the property is lovely. Good restuarant across the road called Shakey Tables.
Review 65:We felt that the $280 per night was a bit excessive.
Review 66:Friendly service, clean and charming room, delicious breakfast, all at great value. Plus free WiFi.
Review 67:not much to dislike really. our stay was lovely.
Review 68:Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. bed was very comfortable. lovely outlook from each room
Review 69:Room at little small. For some it could be thought the location a little remote but we liked it.
Review 70:We had a room with a lovely terrace which looked out onto open land which was super. Very friendly owner.
Review 71:Too far away from eateries. Therewas one very good interesting resurant over the road and up a dirt track. It was good but the only one.
Review 72:The property was in the bush complete with kangaroos. Friendly welcome. Comfortable room.
Review 73:Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had French doors opening onto a private terrace where we relaxed and enjoyed local wine and cheese. Julie happily greeted us each morning, served us breakfast and left us to enjoy our stay. 10/10 from us.
Review 74:Our host was friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive. We stayed over Christmas eve/day & was pleasantly surprised at the Christmas Crackers on the breakfast table in the morning. Nice touch :)
Review 75:There was just one problem, the guest from the next room was a bit annoying watching loud movies in his computer when we were outside trying to enjoy our wine! But was not the B&B fault at all!
Review 76:Everything was perfect! Julie and Mojo (the dog) are great hosts...we loved our stay there! Specially the view and the breakfast!
Review 77:Julie the owner treated us like friends coming to visit - it was wonderful! The wild Kangaroos were a bonus! Great location, Clean Room, Warm/Friendly faces! I couldn't ask for anything more.
Review 78:That I only booked for one night!
Review 79:The location, the way the accommodation was set up everything you needed was there, nothing was too much trouble, perfectly clean and well catered.
Review 80:Room falsely advertised as King and was not. Owner did not genuinely appear interested in guests she was to self absorbed .
Review 81:The other couple staying in same location and the friendly dog.
Review 82:Very friendly owner, well informed about the surrounding area, provided us with an excellent recommendation on the Two Fat Blokes Gourmet (wine and food) Tours.
Review 83:Room next to dining area where guests were making tea at 4.20am. Our room would have been better suited for these guests.
Review 84:Service was very good. Nothing was a problem
Review 85:What's not to like?
Review 86:It was a lovely, tranquil place to stay. Well appointed and warm bedroom, and after a very pleasant and beautifully presented breakfast, we could sit outside our room and read and play with the very friendly family dog, Mojo. Loved being able to see the kangaroos in the paddock beyond our room. And the stars ... superb.
Review 87:Julie was very welcoming and informative - nothing was too much trouble. The home cooked breakfast was perfect, and the place was clean, comfortable and pleasant. We were welcomed as we got out of our car by Mojo (the dog) who is just delightful. We intend to stay again in the near future. Highly recommend this B&B - it was a very pleasant stay.
Review 88:Nothing in particular.
Review 89:Our host was very friendly and most helpful. The B&B is in a lovely setting and an easy drive to the wineries and other attractions in the Valley. Very nice continental breakfast. The bed is very comfortable. Although the ensuite is a little small the shower was very good.
Review 90:From a topical country, we do find the weather a little too cold atnight. The hot water system can be quite a handful at times. But trust me, you won't think it is an issue at all.
Review 91:Julie, our host is a warm and inviting lady. She made us feel at home.Help us on where we want to go.Breakfast is good, on our last day, she even made some passionfruit jam. At night, we can see the sky lit up with lots of stars. In the day, we get to catch some kangaroos in the wild nearby the B&B. And a lovely dog to company us. (Although both of us are abit afraid of the dog, but trust me, he's the most well behaved dog.) We soon feel like friends with him. Thanks Julie for the wonderful experience !
Review 92:The B&B has been well designed. We liked our room, doors opened out to a lovely verandah with beautiful views of the landscape. The breakfast room was warm and inviting, again with lovely views.Breakfast was great.Julie was a wonderful hostess, very friendly and helpful.
Review 93:Julie was very welcoming and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Accommodation was comfortable and it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views.. The breakfast was delicious and her local knowledge enabled us to find a great restaurant for dinner. Would highly recommend it!!
Review 94:could use a shelf in the bathroom. and a little more soap. one in the shower as well as one on the handbasin.
Review 95:great location. breakfasts were wonderful. room was great. hosts were wonderful.peaceful and will definitely go again....
Review 96:mould in showers (reminded me of a cheap backpackers), the price for what you get, need a sign on main road to help find hotel. hassel getting luggage from car to room in the rain on slippery pavers that are not allowing the water to run off resulting in loose pavers that squirt dirty water on guests when walked over. If this is what you have to pay to stay one night in the Hunter, we will go else where nex time.
Review 97:nice rooms, staff, nice grounds and reception area.
Review 98:Have to use car to visit restaurants as accommodation is a distance fromtown (however Pizza delivery is available).
Review 99:Comfortable accommodation and friendly managers. Managers also part of"Two Fat Blokes" wine tours - tour very entertaining. Goodwalks in area around rooms.
