Review 1：The staff is very unfriendly and without a smile. The check in was not welcoming. We arrived in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. The guy at the reception not even said hello or welcome. He looked very depressed and unhappy. No extra information was provided. A few days before my arrival I called the hotel 3 times to make a booking for a massage. But again no service was provided at the phone, and no massage was booked. The Christmas day there was no music in the lobby/lounge, very depressing atmosphere. The woman at frontdesk did not say good morning or any contact with us or other guests. She seemed very annoyed when I asked her to switch on sauna and steamroom. At checkin out again no personal questions, no smile!! what happened in this hotel???? very depressing atmosphere. Better to book another hotel

Review 3：The apartment was spacious, clean and bright in a quiet area and yet just a five minute walk from shops and beach. Really only FIVE minutes. Food was fresh and plenty variety. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Review 5：This is a beautiful apartment, very spacious and clean. It's only a few minutes walk from the beach and all amenities.

Review 6：They don't have a outside pool, although they advertise it. The guest can go to another hotel from the chain, but since I traveled with my father on a wheelchair that was impossible (access to wheelchairs in Monte Gordo are hard to find, that is why I choose a hotel with pool). The spa was mostly closed and the masseuse was never on the premises, once again, advertised but not available. The owner of the place parked for some "quick affair" for more than an 2hrs (that I could see) on the handicapped parking. The covered pool had no wheelchair access. For the price, that facilities where far from good. I would not say this is a 4 star hotel.

Review 7：The restaurant staff was pretty amazing and the food, although not with many varieties, was very good.

Review 8：Only thing is that the pool is very small and covered over so you can't sunbath there. You can use their sister hotel the dunamar which has a normal size pool and sun loungers - it's only a 6 or 7 minute walk away, not a big deal for us and the apartment made up for it but would have been better to have had a pool on site

Review 10：Not enough cooking equipment in the kitchen. the hob was difficult to get to work with no instructions. Wifi in the room would have made the stay a lot more enjoyable instead of having to sit in the reception area to get on line.

Review 32：It has a Indoor pool with a retractable roof (Seasonal Only) since we were there in the summer it should have been open and it wasn't.Out of the 7days I spent there it was only open for 3. We had to walk to a sister Hotel (400 metres) away to be exposed to the Sun.

Review 52：The Monte Gordo Hotel is situated in a quiet area of the town. The apartments are modern, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was very adequate and staff were pleasant. There is a small spa and gym and a small indoor pool. It represents excellent value for money. It is close to the beach, supermarket, resturants & shops.

Review 59：View from balcony looked out on to builders renovating a neighbouringhotel but not a deal breaker and after all we were not in the hotel mostdays but busy out on property inspections and solicitor visits in Spainand the Eastern Algarve. Full spa facilities not fully open until mainseason but this is only to be expected and it was not the main purposeof our visit. I would stay again even though off the main sea front weaccessed it on foot after catching the train from Faro and walking 1.5k, not far and a pleasure!!

Review 60：Breakfast relaxed and better quality than most four star hotels in thevicinity. Bedroom and balcony peaceful, clean and ideal for a breakaway from it all! Bathrobes a lovely touch and benefit of heating onthe odd chilly night in January. The brand new modern hotel isdeceiving from the outside but the spa facilities and gym make it anattractive proposition. I was on a business/leisure break and feltit was ideal for both.
