Montesinho Turismo is in a rural town in the midst of a national park. It is composed of different historic houses, fully renovated in a contemporary style, yet retaining its original character.
Guests can dip in the outdoor pool or soak in the on-site jacuzzi. The hotel offers a bike rental to discover Montesinho National Park, while many hiking trails criss-cross just outside Gimonde and Braganca historic districts.
Rooms all include a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and a sitting area featuring satellite TV channels. They are equipped with designer furnishings made from natural materials.
The properties are scattered around Gimonde, all less than half a mile from the main building with the front desk and restaurant. D Roberto is in a former smokehouse and serves traditional dishes.

Review 1：I appreciated that Portugal is preserving the area as a place where people live and work. We enjoyed watching the sheep being taken out to pasture and returned at the end of the day by our hostess and her 3 dogs. Maintenance work was also interesting to watch. I enjoyed swimming in the pool,too, and even watching that maintained. We appreciated having breakfast in Gimonde, 2 k. away, as it gave another dimension to our stay.

Review 7：We were unlucky in that there was building work next door. Reception needed better signage. It is actually the first building as you turn off the main road.

Review 8：Friendly welcome on arrival. Good size modern room set at the entrance to an old village. Excellent good value restaurant next door which also provided a decent breakfast for 3€.

Review 9：The room did not match up to the character and charm of the exterior. The carpet was very dirty, the room was noisy from the accommodation upstairs. The washhand basin was cracked. The tv did not work at all.

Review 10：The village was very picturesque, and a lovely village to wander round. Their restaurant next door was good, but the price was expensive for the quality.

Review 11：the food in the restaurant if SUPERB, excellent quality , served quickly and with friendly helpful staff, check in staff were attentive and very helpful. cannot find anything i could call negative , if i was to nitpick the bathroom door needed oiling as it made a noise on opening. great stay give it a try (and make sure you use the restaurant and try the wild boar.

Review 12：Upon our way to Braga from Spain we hit upon this great little place. Very pleasant and friendly staff, a nice room with bathroom. The house included a communal living and kitchen. We didn't use it, since the excellent restaurant was only 2 steps away. The owner of the B&B and restaurant is a professional ham and sausage maker of authentic Portuguese tradition. We had a great dinner with a tasting of several of his hams and sausages. To be continued by grilled pork. The dessert was one of the best i had in times. Quince parfait - home made and delicious. The restaurant has a great wine list to chokes from too.
