Reviews for Virginian Lodge

Review 1:The heater is manual. Why is there a thermostat on the wall? Just to confuse you? Parking is not great.

Review 2:Great location. Nice room. Clean. Convenient shops. Wifi is good

Review 3:The staff were very pleasant and eager to help. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean! Loved the proximity to downtown and easy access to everything.

Review 4:Genius booking.com discount was not recognize at first by the receptionist. After some talking the price for which we had the room reserved on booking.com was accepted.

Review 5:Clean and comfortable room.

Review 6:The locks on the door did not seem secure. The door looked as if it had been kicked in at some time. A coffee pot would have been nice.

Review 7:Pleasant personal. Good location. Great value.

Review 8:it was a great surprise when we opened the door. my Husband did not know how we got that huge kitchenette.!! he don't remember ordering that, but we LOVED IT.

Review 9:We had trouble with the heating and air-conditioning. It was very difficult to regulate the temperature.

Review 10:The staff was very very nice and very accommodating. They made the Virginian very pleasant

Review 11:It was a little farther from the town square than we thought it would be.

Review 12:We thought the price was fair and loved the fireplace. Too bad you don't use the one off the lobby, but the bar fireplace was nice.

Review 13:Wanted to purchase books in lobby and only had credit cards. Needed cash only and i did not want to walk back to room and back to lobby again. It was quite late at night.

Review 14:Location and convenience of laundry and restaurant.

Review 15:As we booked a room for 6 people, we expected to get the bigger room than normal for 2. However, the room was too small. No kitchen.. Only microwave.

Review 16:The hotel is located on the main road in Jackson. It was convenient to shop for grocery (Albertsons), gas and easy way to Jackson Hole.

Review 17:Location less than ideal but probably due to size of facility - required vehicle to get back to town center and most restaurants. Bkfst not included

Review 18:friendly staff, clean accommodations. Bit pricey without Bkfst included.

Review 19:Our room was on the courtyard and the lounge was also on the courtyard. The noise from the lounge was loud. Since we could not sleep by 12:30 am -- we waited for the lounge to close -- we asked the front desk to turn the sound down and it was turned down somewhat. But it was still loud until 1:30 am so we were up until that time. We told the front desk when we checked out that we did not sleep until 1:30 am and we said that had we known of the loud noise we would have asked for another room. We asked for some consideration. but the clerk said she was not authorized to do this. So we left tired and unsatisfied.

Review 20:The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 21:The inner rooms and pool area was so secluded, you felt like the place was all alone in the mountains and away from busy Jackson Hole! Great having a pool, hot tub, liquor store, bar/lounge and restaurants right there, too!

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:This hotel was fun in that it had a pool, a bar and restaurant all in one. Cute factor of the over all experience was good though rooms were nothing to get excited about. Don't expect it to be a Hilton type property but I Would come back for sure.

Review 24:Very, very noisy - you'll need earplugs Rather expensive Breakfast not included Pets allowed No fridge, coffee maker or microwave, which are pretty much standard elsewhere - even in budget motels

Review 25:Comfortable room (apart from the noise) Clean

Review 26:I had request for a quiet room on THE poolside in november. When we arrived in July we recieved a room on THE highway side. IT was noisy from 6:00 am untill 22:30 Pm. A lot of traffic

Review 27:Locatieontwikkelaar, swimmingpool

Review 30:I loved their pool to relax in at the end of the day. Our room was large and pleasant. I did laundry also. There is a restaurant and a saloon and a liquor store all right there.

Review 31:Great location for enjoying the NP and historical Jackson, Wyoming. Worst quality towels I have ever had in a hotel.

Review 32:Staff helpful. On site laundry and hair dresser.

Review 33:Our location was next to a courtyard, which would have been great. However, the music from the bar could be heard until late into the morning hours and that made it hard to get a good night's sleep.

Review 34:Excellent location in order to visit the Bar J Wranglers (chuck wagon dinner and show in Wilson). For a one-night stay, the price was fantastic (probably because it was not the summer rate since our stay was at the end of May). Beds were okay and the room was clean.

Review 35:The fact that I could not stay longer.

Review 36:The rooms were extremely clean. The front office staff were very knowledgeable of the area, friendly, and accommodating. The restaurant on property was great too.

Review 37:I would have liked queen size beds. the restaraunt was not open for dinner when we thought it should have been. why don't they give a breakfast coupon?

Review 38:the room was clean and attractive. Large enough that you felt like you were at home and not cramped.

Review 39:our experience was wonderful! Wifi was a little slow, but we were on vacation and tried not to play with our devices anyway.

Review 40:great room prices, location was easy to find. The view was amazing!

Review 41:I would have like a Continental breakfast of some sort.I also would have like better parking.

Review 42:I enjoyed the spacious clean rooms and friendly staff. I also appreciated that it didn't break the bank.

Review 43:Something in the bathroom smelled but it was clean. The room was clean but it smelled like an old mans cologne. Not a good smell at all. The beds were supposed to be queens but they were more like a doubles.

Review 44:The saloon was cool.

Review 45:Lack of amenities. They do provide nice soaps, but there's nothing for coffee or tea in the morning. You have to leave your room for that. The big thing for me was waking up with 3 bug bites on my face, finding an ant crawling on me, and more ants and spiders crawling around the room. Yuck. Not a huge swarm or anything, but it made me uncomfortable.

Review 46:The area is nice - it's right outside of Jackson Hole. The motel is pretty cool - it has its own restaurant, saloon, laundry, salon ... etc. The room was pretty nice, clean, good view of the mountains, nice courtyard.

Review 47:Towels and tp felt like sandpaper... really minor complaint!

Review 48:Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff, huge outdoor hot tub, bat and liquor store on site.

Review 49:The bed was stuff and old. I did NOT sleep well, which, unfortunately, good sleep is the main goal of staying a motel.

Review 50:Staff at check-in was very friendly and answered questions I had about local places to eat.

Review 51:Wifi was almost non-existent. Thin walls. People liked to get up early before the crack of dawn and yap away outside our door.

Review 52:Not far from town or Jackson Hole. Great price. Friendly staff.

Review 53:1.A little bit far from the downtown. 2.The breakfast isn't free.

Review 54:1.Location is easy to find. 2.Elk in the lobby is awesome. 3.Breakfast is tasty. 4.Kitchen room is very useful for foreign travellers to cook some hometown food.

Review 55:-

Review 56:Stayed 2 nights with friends. Very different and interesting motel! Excellent location! Very close to town center , nice rooms, good shower, very good service, nice big hot tub, definitely will recommend to anyone!

Review 57:Breakfast was bedlam. Soooo. many people. We had to queue to put our name down in order to get a table. Wait was too long. Went to Maccas down the road. No one there!

Review 58:Spa. On outskirts of town- quiet. Parking. Vanity outside of toilet and shower area.

Review 59:The hotel also has a bar area opposite our room. As it was a Saturday night they had a band playing to 1.30 am. So we got very little sleep. They also adv. an onsite restaurant ,which is now only open for breakfast & lunch.

Review 60:The hotel is quite old, but the room was clean and comfortable.

Review 61:- the poor possibilities in the surrounding area to get a similar meal for a similar price as in the Virginian Restaurant when it was closed on sunday

Review 62:- the efforts Donna (deskservice) made to make our wishes according to the room come true; - the service in the restaurant and the food - the rooms, especially those located at the inside - the location

Review 63:The signage. At night, coming back from dinner, we had trouble seeing the entrance because the light on the big sign out front was not working.

Review 64:The room was very comfortable. The restaurant served a delicious breakfast very quickly. That's very important to travelers. We liked the Virginian quite a lot.

Review 65:A/C was on and off with weird system of operating. Towels like sandpaper. Basic amenities. No elevator.

Review 66:Nice desk people and the hotel was fair but showing its age.

Review 67:Felt like an oldish motel,no hot drink making in room, thin walls . Not up to modern standards we have found on our trip through West States.Certainly did not give value for money and would look elsewhere in Jackson if we return here, or advise others to do so.

Review 68:Strong Chemical deodorant smell in room. Be aware that some people have multiple chemical sensitivities (allergic reactions) due to the heavy use of such chemicals.

Review 69:Lower $ rates

Review 70:It was fun to stay at a place that took you back to a time of the true motor lodge, where you could park your car right outside your door. Those types of places are hard to find especially clean and charming like this one.

Review 71:No coffee pot or refrigerator in room. Even though there's coffee 24-7 in the office, it's a bit far to go when you're just trying to wake up.

Review 72:The office staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the adjoining restaurant, especially our new girlfriend, Kelly.

Review 73:Disappointed that restaurant was closed for lunch or dinner but being it was after Labor Day I understand they close it down, still had breakfast and they were always packed.

Review 74:This motel was very convenient to Jackson area and although it is a little older it is well maintained and very clean.

Review 75:A bit expensive; however this is Jackson (a lovely place by the way!)

Review 76:A bit ouside Jackson but no real issue if you have a car. Very quiet and nice pool. Bar has great local atmosphere. I highly recommend the restaurant next door (the Virginian) for tasty breakfasts.

Review 77:First night the band at the saloon was way too loud. We were told the next day we should have complained, and they would have turned it down. Parking is slim pickins in the front. Not enough or thick enough pillows. Loudish heating unit. Dinner menu at diner limited. Means came out warm, not hot. A little pricy for the quality. Breakfast much better.

Review 78:Clean and quiet, except when the band was playing. Comfortable bed. Saloon offered good drinks and a few craft beers, which could be carried out and to the diner. Diner had great breakfast at reasonable price, and you can byob. Very close to a grocer.

Review 79:We stayed for 3 days. Enjoyed doing some of our own cooking, hot tub was great. Great chance to play tourist but have a "home" to come to each evening.

Review 80:My crawler had black hands and knees even though the carpet looked clean. He didn't get half that dirty crawling around outside on sidewalks and grass.

Review 81:It was ver spacious which was nice for kids...

Review 82:Arrived and room was not ready until 5. Girl cleaning roon could not understand when I asked how long till the room was ready.. Would have preferred someone who spoke english

Review 83:Check in was terrible, the old man was practically deaf and blind. He was very rude, even though he found my reservation, he requested my printed confirmation number, which I didn't have. Then he wanted to know many people would be in each room, which I had not figured out yet. I thought he might be afraid that I'd pack in ton of people into each room. He became rude and said if there were fire the fire dept would request the list of people in each room. Then his manager said this was not necessary. So why in Sam Hill did he say that? He needs to be fired!!!! Very very RUDE!

Review 84:Lovely court yard, fun swimming pool and spa, great parking, rooms were perfect for our group. Location was great. Was able to check in early for 3 rooms for my kids who wanted to get into the swimming pool. Thank you!!!!

Review 85:Really just needs to be updated, decor, televisions, bathroom fixtures. Otherwise, thought it was comfy and good location.

Review 86:Great staff, warm and friendly. Very retro, which is cool if you're into vintage with your hotel room. Beds were comfortable.

Review 87:The pool water turned our daughter's hair green. But worse, the front desk couldn't find our reservation and when they finally did, it turned out that our room had accidentally been given to another guest. They found a room for us at last, but we spent more than an hour waiting and not knowing whether they had a room for us or not. They thanked us for being so patient but didn't properly apologize - in my opinion they could have offered a free breakfast. If the something like that happens again I will not hesitate calling Booking.com because they will definitely take care of it.

Review 88:The pool, the lobby, the nearby restaurant, bar and liquer store - and no noise from the bar at night.

Review 89:Beds for kids were really awful, as was the decor (brown). We paid for a suite with small kitchen only one of the rings worked and the cutlery was cake forks and only teaspoons. Fine if you're a hobbit.

Review 90:Location, pool

Review 91:Hotel was a little out of town so it was a car drive to get there. Wifi was poor in rooms though there was a computer for guests in the lobby. Restaurant on site very busy so had a wait for breakfast, however the food was well worth the wait.

Review 92:We had a room with an hot tub which was very enjoyable. Well kempt complex with plenty of services though we were unable to use these due to such a short stay, but it would be a great place for families to have a holiday.

Review 93:We booked this hotel 6+ months ago the 1st room we have was so dark we needed a light on all the time we also didn't have coffee making facilities. We changed rooms after it took them 2 hours to work computer system and ended up in a jacuzzi suite which we didn't want but was only way to get a kettle this was the most plain room we have ever been in and when we opened curtains there was a JCB digger parked in front of window as there was building work going on so we needed to have curtains shut anyway so ended up in dark. The pictures looked great with pool in front but it doesn't show you the other terrible rooms looking at a RV park or building site. Cost us more money for 2 nights cos of room change but wasn't worth original price. We have been travelling for 3 weeks and everywhere else was great.

Review 94:Leaving

Review 95:A refrigerator would have raised the mark. But for a one night stay not that important

Review 96:Room size, layout and facilities. Quick and easy drive to center of Jackson. Helpful and responsive staff.

Review 97:Great hotel , the staff was really friendly , especially at the saloon.

Review 98:Very friendly staff, knowledgeable and helpful.

Review 99:Older hotel, but it is clean and comfortable.

Review 100:No microwave or fridge in the room.

Review 101:Nice and clean room.

Review 102:Hasn't been updated since it was built. Very very old.

Review 103:It was clean

Review 104:Great, friendly and helpful staff. Super location, clean room & very affordable price. This was my 4th time staying there this year.

Review 105:The sofa bed was old and very uncomfortable

Review 106:The large room was nice and the large tub fun.

Review 107:Try to be placed away from Saloon. Noisy wee hours of morning.

Review 108:Mmm. Can't think of anything :-)

Review 109:Enjoyed our two large rooms with the jacuzzi hot tub !

Review 110:Front desk staff not overly friendly - seemed disinterested and bored. Not that helpful.

Review 111:The outdoor pool - very clean and BIG!

Review 112:We stayed way in the back with no view.

Review 113:Location was excellent.

Review 114:Noise all the time

Review 115:Location

Review 116:No really bad experience except the restaurant was not open for dinner

Review 117:It was just ok, nothing like the picture

Review 118:No facilities for coffee or tea in the room. This is a basic requirement of any room. Poor internet connection

Review 119:Good location

Review 120:Na

Review 121:Very expensive for an ugly, old room

Review 122:I did not like the noise coming from the lounge after 10PM.

Review 123:The price was right and the room and bedding was very clean.

Review 124:the helpfulness of the staff

Review 125:Towels were thin

Review 126:Better than we expected.

Review 127:We had to wait over two hours for our second room to be ready.

Review 128:Didn't know the bar was there when I booked. That was a nice surprise.

Review 129:Had to climb stairs with luggage.

Review 130:Great location, large room with king size bed.

Review 131:reception desk could have been friendlier when we arrived.

Review 132:Space of room, and that they listened and gave me an AAA discount when asked.
