Reviews for Sandton Hotel Pillows

Review 1:It was a little expensive for one night for us as a young couple.

Review 2:I really enjoyed my stay at the sandton hotel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very clean and spacious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in zwolle!

Review 3:No bad experience. Tip: make it possible to chose a simple, cheaper breakfast for those who don't want to eat too much in the morning.

Review 4:Beautiful building Very friendly staff Excellent rooms with many facilities (safe, bathrobe, nice bathroom) Walking distance to city center with restaurants and museums

Review 5:the restaurant is not at the same level of the hotel. I would have expected a better and more various menu.

Review 6:Very good position, close to the station and to the center. The room was large and comfortable and the staff was friendly.

Review 7:The mattress and pillow not as comfy as i expect it to be.

Review 8:Great location. Just 20 steps away from Zwolle train station and few minutes walk from city center. All staff I met are super friendly.

Review 9:Not necessarily a bad experience, but asked for a gin and tonic in the evening and bar person didn't add ice or lime to the drink. When asked for, got lemon. Had to leave the bar to fetch ice as well. Breakfast is way too expensive for what you get.

Review 10:Large comfortable room, shower and bath very open and large. Nice big bed and comfortable. Location was good for a easy walk to the center and museums.

Review 11:Incorrect charge for parking at check-out. No problem to have this corrected though.

Review 12:Quiet location, high standard room with comfortable beds. Nice breakfast.

Review 13:Older clientele while we were there. Felt a bit boisterous for the location.

Review 14:Beautiful location and great location to the train station and city centre. Nice outdoor patio area. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Suite we had also had air conditioning, which isn't always found in Europe. Warm week so it was helpful!

Review 15:Not really bad, maybe personal, but the pillows could be better. They were either too hard or too soft for us.

Review 16:The staff was super friendly. The bed very comfortable. The bathroom perfectly clean and spacious. The city vibrant on Saturday, quiet on Sunday (shops closed).

Review 17:Roman, your personal breakfast assistant is the most welcoming person I ever met at a any hotel's breakfast buffet! Discrete, efficient and bespoke service. The BEST!!!

Review 18:• We prefer bar soap to liquid soap; • The regular mattress is topped by a 7 cm soft mattress. Too soft, too many "valleys", why bother?

Review 19:• The bedroom is spacious and well-appointed; • Everything is very clean; • The common spaces are welcoming and comfortable; • The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful; • Breakfast is excellent; • The neighborhood is lovely with a short walk to the center; • Zwolle is a lovely city.

Review 20:WiFi connection to top floor is very poor. Would be nice if tea & coffee was available in the room

Review 21:We had a suite, which was very spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very attentive and helpful Dinner was good

Review 22:Breakfast at 20 euros is too expensive.

Review 23:Rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds. The hotel is near the railroad station, but within easy walking distance to the old city center. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 24:The wifi was a bit slow.

Review 25:The room was so spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were well-furnished and clean. The hotel was close to the train station and an easy walk to the city centre. Staff were friendly and easy to deal with. We purchased this room on a special deal through Booking.com and it was excellent value for money.

Review 26:The bed was not flat and therefore not good for any person with a spinal problem or sore back, like myself.

Review 27:Excellent breakfast and helpful friendly women staff members.

Review 28:Rooms as very frequent quite dark

Review 29:Liked almost all. Very friendly staff, WiFi included, kitchen excellent, rooms big, located very close to train station and same time very quiet. Old town - 5min walk.

Review 53:We liked the comfort and the friendly staff.

Review 54:Strange pillows.

Review 55:We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, it was very expensive.

Review 56:Helpful staff

Review 57:Excellent value and hotel

Review 58:staff was very helpful and polite.

Review 59:The bed was uncomfortable and no air conditioning made it worse during a very hot night!

Review 60:The location was very good being close to the town center.

Review 61:Nearby the city center. Close to the train station. Friendly staff. Security during the night

Review 62:I liked everything

Review 63:Friendly helpful staff and a perfect location. Very nice rooms.

Review 64:nothing

Review 65:everything

Review 66:Breakfast until noon!

Review 67:Would have like coffe- and tea facilities in the room

Review 68:Very central location, great staff, large room, good bed and infra-red sauna.

Review 69:very comfortable beds, nice big bathroom with good shower. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, close to station and city center

Review 70:Resteraunt closes at 9 and the kitchen is very inflexible over taking any food orders close to that time.

Review 71:Breakfast expensive

Review 72:Breakfast was very poor, at an unacceptable price.

Review 73:Loved it all.

Review 74:The staff are extremely polite and very helpfull going above and beyond to make sure your okay.

Review 75:Front desk staff unfriendly, attitude

Review 76:nice, large, comfortable room; large clean bathroom; breakfast; location - walking distance to city centre and central station - repeat visit; quiet

Review 77:Asked the staff over booking.com, and called them on the phone, to ask if they can offer us an early check-in; confirmed over the phone, when arrived at 10 in the morning though said they had no rooms so we needed to check-in at 2PM which was not comfortable. In the evening we were in our room and someone from staff barged in, we asked after why and nobody knew who that was. Also, breakfast is on the simple side of things.

Review 78:Overall good conditions, private parking, comfortable bed, spacious rooms, clean everywhere. Good location close to city center and the train station.

Review 79:This hotel fails in the basic function:providing a room to rest. The windows cannot be opened, the temperature in the room cannot be regulated, the fridge makes a terrible noise.

Review 80:It is not possible to control the room temperature. It is not possible to open the windows. The room had poor lightning.

Review 81:Good location near the train station and just a few minutes from the city centre.

Review 82:The lightning in the room was very poor. A couple of months ago we also stayed in this hotel. We reported this problem, but unfortunately the management did not change their policy. For instance: it is hardly possible to read a book lying in bed and sitting in the chairs.

Review 83:the breakfast was a little poor. More a continental breakfast then a full breakfast buffet. But all fresh and served properly

Review 84:Style, comfort, set up and the service was impicable. Super helpful and friendly staff. Great beds and perfect location

Review 85:The breakfast was good and healthy and we noticed a very professional host who did everything to give the guests the perfect feeling of comfort. We allready gave him our compliments but we also want to remark it by this way.

Review 86:After many stays at Pillows we see that time has taken its toll. Rugsare starting to get threadbare. Bathroom fixtures are loose. A room hadan odor but two of us were immediately moved to another room. (Our grouphad three rooms.) Bathroom amenities seem cheaper than in the past. TheBose radio could not receive Radio 4.

Review 87:Friendly staff. Good beds. Good breakfast although a bit pricey.verygood location.

Review 88:It took a while for the water in the bathroom to warm up.

Review 89:The royal deluxe room was simply beautiful, down to the details - high ceiling, large windows, comfortable bed with many pillows indeed (as the hotel's name suggests), nice bath tub, interesting wallpaper. Good lighting as well. Stylish hotel, for those who appreciate a more historical rather than modern look. Great location. Loved it!

Review 90:No tea and coffee making facilities in the room:-(

Review 91:Great price and a great location near the train station, but it was quiet. Beautiful decor and very comfortable bed. Bath robes supplied. 24 hour reception. Friendly staff.

Review 92:Brokenness bed in the room, lying against a wall mirror, dirty bathroom, one shaving at the three men and much more ..... yes, and never take the breakfast for 20 euros you can have a drink only coffee ...

Review 93:only coffee, staff speaks good english

Review 94:For the money you pay, you would expect a bit more, a bottle of water in the room, some hooks in the bathroom, bit cleaner. Rooms are airconditioned, but you cannot control this. You cannot open a window. Slept well and that was all I was there for.

Review 95:Nice, quiet hotel. Spacious rooms. Good location.

Review 96:Beautiful spacious room and bathroom. Very quiet at night and in the morning that we didn't hear anything. Even though it is near the train and bus station, but we didn't hear a thing.

Review 97:The room was far too hot with no ability to adjust the room temperature. It was not possible to open the windows either - the room was stiflingand almost impossible to sleep in. When we asked at reception we weretold there was no adjustment but the hotel would cool down afterMidnight!! .......But It didn'T.This was a real negative and we would not stay there again purely due to this terrible lack of comfort there weren't even any air fans in the room. A real shame as the hotel was otherwise very nice.

Review 98:Location was good and cleanliness/decor was excellent. It had thefeeling of being a really nice almost upmarket hotel. However see mycomments below - if a hotel like this cannot get basic air conditioningright then they have a real problem.

Review 99:The location was excellent, close to the centre and near the train station. This hotel doesn't belong to a huge group and there for quite customer focused.

Review 100:the central climate regulation system was awful. It was too hot and dry, even though outside it was only 22 degrees celsius. The windows don't open, so people kept their roomdoors open with a dustbin The smart TV didn't work properly either.

Review 101:The location between the train station and the old town is perfect.

Review 102:Would have liked to be able to control warmth of room - a little too warm for us but there may have been controls.

Review 103:Luxurious, spacious feel, quality fittings, king size bed, thick, velvet block out curtains, large bathroom with bath as well as shower. Quiet location despite the closeness to railway station. Floor heat we think.

Review 104:Windows cannot be opened. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Paid parking

Review 105:Nice hotel with beautiful classic atmosphere at the edge of the city centre of Zwolle. Spacious room and bathroom in the old part of the hotel. Free WiFi in the room. Within walking distance of the Librije restaurants, museums and shopping area.

Review 106:It is a feature now with many hotels the high price of breakfasts. Though the room was well filled with diners so must be me. The cafe at the station had excellent rolls at a fraction of the price.

Review 107:Great location right by the station. Very quiet rooms no street or traffic noise.

Review 108:the rooms are to dark lack of fesh air/airconditionoing in the rooms and bath room not able to open a window

Review 109:CCentral lococation to the railway station

Review 110:A bit expensive

Review 111:From a first look the apparence of the hotel is not great but the hotelis much nicer inside. Every room, from the lobby to the restaurant andthe bedroom are great. Restaurant and breakfast good as well.

Weinig aankleding.

Review 114:THe rooms need more air circulation...windows did not open, and in the fall of the year, too late for air conditioning and too early for heating.

Review 115:LOCATION! And the Room & all of hotel very clean and beautirfully decorated.

Review 116:Friendly staff. We arrived very early and they allowed us to leave our luggage all day with them. Great location, pretty street and 50 m from station but with no rail noise and 10 minute walk into town centre.

Review 117:This was simply an overnight stay for us; a couple traveling from twodifferent starting points, headed to a third the next morning. We foundthe bed to be very comfortable, so comfortable in fact that he didn'twant to get out of bed the next morning at 8am. The room itself wasspacious, comfortable and attractive. It made us consider Zwolle and theSandton Pillows as a destination for a future trip.

Review 118:The reception was staffed by a very formal, quite unfriendly person. This did not make for a good start to the visit. My room was missing some items (shoe shike kit, soap etc. ) and there was some evidence of the previous occupant. Housekeeping could have been improved. Still a lovely place to stay though.

Review 119:The Sandton always feels like a retreat; a very quiet place to recharge and relax. On this visit, it did not disappoint.

Review 120:Staff were not unfriendly, but not particularly welcoming. Lady at breakfast did not appear to speak English and made no attempt when we did not speak Dutch. I suppose this is a factor of staying in a hotel in "provincial" Holland. Thought breakfast at 20 euros was very expensive for a) what it was: scraps of cornflakes (muesli was finished and not replenished), bread in the bags it came from the shop in, hard boiled eggs and slices of cheese and ham, plus spreads in plastic packets, and b) where it was: a small town.

Review 121:The bed was amazing - very comfortable. Extremely close to the station which is where we were coming and going from (we had a wedding outside Zwolle) to attend.
