Reviews for Best Western Hotel Restaurant Fidder
Review 1:My only observation was that there could have been brighter lighting in the bedroom.
Review 2:This is a lovely traditional hotel in an older building within 10 minutes walk of the perimeter canal. The staff were very welcoming and provided a secure place for our bicycles. The room was good, with a very comfortable bed, a shower above the bath, tea making facilities and a drinks bar. We enjoyed the extensive breakfast consisting of both hot and cold items and also the cozy bar in the evening.
Review 3:Hotel is situated in a quiet area, has loads of charm, atmosphere and warmth. It is friendly and comfortable - perfect for a relaxing few days away but also close enough to walk to the centre. We were also very happy with the evening meal at the hotel.
Review 4:The stairs to the room. If you have large luggage or problems to take the stairs this will be hard.
Review 5:Returned to the hotel after a previous visit and it was great again. Even though it was fuller then before the service was exceptional and the stay was great. Very quiet, very nice breakfast and exceptional staff that remembered me from the previous stay!
Review 6:The single room was in the roof and window would not close probably jumped open to reduce thew terrible smell of bad drains so got bit in the night the room
Review 7:helpful staff.
Review 8:Would be better to have a small window that can be opened in the bathroom. Breakfast was almost empty when we arrived more than half an hour before the end. They fixed it ok.
Review 9:Nice hotel! Old style, warm and friendly. Checkout time at twelve on Sundays is great.
Review 10:A marvellous stay in Jugendstil hotel with excellent breakfast. Within walking distance of every major place in town. And free parking throughout the neighborhood.
Review 11:Quirky design, depends on your taste can be a bit strange but nothing to complain about, and the "minibar" is not a fridge! It is a small box on the table. There is no elevator...
Review 12:Location was good (~10 min walk to the "star" old town), it was clean, staff was helpful and breakfast was huge.
Review 13:Beautiful hotel. The staff is super with all you needs. Staff and hotel have a very personal touch.close to town and trainststion all easy to walk to.
Review 14:Location is little bit far from central station. if without heavy luggage, it is still in walking distance or by buses 100, 201, 203 in weekdays, Otherwise, take taxi.
Review 15:Very good hotel. Staff are really nice and helping. Quiet place. Breakfast is good. Beautiful garden.
Review 16:- Rooms are not easily accessible. I cannot imagine old or handicapped people get to the rooms or carry their luggage there. - Old fashioned decoration and design. - Extremely small wardrobe. Not enough even for solo travelers. - Excellent walking distance from old town.
Review 17:- The courtesy of the staff is unparalleled. - Relatively large rooms - Excellent breakfast - Quite neighborhood
Review 18:I'd be happier if the room included a mini-fridge to store snacks.
Review 19:The hotel is situated in a lovely renovated old building, walking distance from the old city center. Staff was courteous and the accommodations were great!
Review 20:Our bed had raised edges on both sides of the bed. If you're 1.90m or taller, that can be a problem. Bed linen was stained.
Review 21:Not too far from Zwolle city center.
Review 22:The hotel is in a nice area, but is not actually in the old town.
Review 23:Very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast was above and beyond, even including champagne! We loved how much the conversion to a hotel has maintained the original building, but realize that some people may want more modern conveniences.
Review 24:After looking around the local area for dinner we decided to have dinner back at the hotel and it was the best decision of the holiday. The à la carte menu was spectacular!
Review 25:The hotel is too old, it needs to be refurbished. Nevertheless, the services are good and I will repeat.
Review 26:The best was the receptionist who made my check-in. Really helpful and nice. She is a credit for the hotel, no doubts.
Review 27:No lift but the staff is willing to help with your luggage.
Review 28:This hotel is suitable for both business and leisure. The staff is very professional and helpful. The rooms are very elegant and clean. The breakfast and dinner options are amazing! Not very cheap, not right in the center (although walking distance and close to good restaurants), but definitely a great place to stay as they make you feel at home!
Review 29:We arrived tired from London late at nite 21.30. It turned out that we had booked for the following nite so that was our mistake. The reception person Patrick at the desk was extremely unpleasant and pedantic, there was plenty of rooms but we had to first contact Booking.com (on our UK mobile). They rebooked but we could not go to our room even NOT once we had received confirmation from Bkng.com on our mobile. He insisted that we sat in reception for 30min untill he finally had received it on his computer.. Very inhospitable very low a rating..
Review 30:We stayed only one night but had a really nice and pleasant stay. The hotel staff is extremely nice and attentive. The hotel room we had was bit old fashioned but that made it so great, we loved it! Breakfast was another higlight of our stay.
Review 31:The pillows were too fluffy and thick for me. Not the best location when traveling by public transport and heavy bags, since the hotel is located outside of the citycentre and not many busses go here.
Review 32:Staff was friendly. Breakfast was excellent! Hotelroom was nice and was big enough to walk a bit around in the room.
Review 33:We thought that the room that had been reserved for us had a very unattractive smell about it and therefore asked for an alternative one - which was readily supplied and did not share the same problem. It was a pleasant one with small balcony, respectable small bathroom with good selection of toiletries. The centre of town was a ten minute walk away and the hotel situated in a quiet area with no parking restrictions. Very welcome ! Breakfast was a very good one, attentively served whilst reception was both friendly and helpful.
Review 34:if its really hot you need a fan in the room. but there was already one. so for us (young couple) no problem at all. and the balcony offers a relaxing place on top
Review 35:-unique nice antique room -additional balcony -carpets and old wooden furniture gave a descent flair -very nice and helpful staff -good spot to bike around the city/surroundings
Review 36:I didn't like to leave :-(
Review 37:The staff where wonderful. Very friendly and easy to chat with. The room was comfortable and the decor was amazing. Thank you Patrick and staff for a wonderful stay. Will we come back. For sure. Ericka and Derek. Bridgetown, Western Australia

Review 63:Old fashioned decor. Bed needed updating. No parking at hotel but rather need to find parking in street. Stairs to room very steep.
Review 64:it felt more like a family place than a hotel

Review 77:The room was very comfortable and we loved the balcony. The staff were knowledgable and very friendly. We will return.
Review 78:Staff in the reception were very nice and extremely helpful. Breakfast and coffee service was very good. Rooms are very cosy and comfortable.
Review 79:Very friendly, nice room, amazing breakfast. Excellent hotel.
Review 80:Stairs very steep but this is due to the age of the building
Review 81:Location Staff Food Drinks Complimentary robe and slippers Free Wi-Fi
Review 82:Goed ontbijt, gezellige sfeer, aardig personeel
Review 83:Poorly lit steep & narrow stairs. No lift for heavy luggage.
Review 84:Decor & ambience.
Review 85:A lovely hotel with friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast. Zwolle is a great place to stay - the local people are really helpful and cheerful. The town centre and rail station are an easy walk from the hotel.
Review 86:A lovely building with high ceiling rooms, well appointed, with tasteful late Victorian style furnishings. The breakfast, included in the room price, was lavish.
Review 87:Closet space is limited, but with the room being so large it was easy enough to stow all the suitcases.
Review 88:Enjoyed the entire experience of staying at Fidder. Right from check-in the staff were friendly, pleasant and extremely helpful in every respect. They provided information on local sites and helped us figure out transport for day trips. The hotel is on a beautiful street in an incredibly quiet neighbourhood. The restaurant has a limited menu for dinner, but the food is outstanding. Breakfast was far superior to that which we had at any other hotel in Holland. Zwolle attractions are within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Review 89:I imagine it gets warm in the summer as there's no aircon
Review 90:Lovely character to the building. Handy for Zwolle centre. Very pleasant staff. Great food
Review 91:Bathroom facility is very small in what is a wonderfully decorated single bedroom.
Review 92:Beautiful decor. Great breakfast and dinner menu. The Whiskey Bar is great and general bar layout is very comfortable.
Review 93:Nothing really - old fashioned building so may not suit those in to modernism!
Review 94:The decor was lovely and the bar had a lovely fire. If you're in to whiskey the bar had an extensive range. Very comfortable room. Excellent staff.
Review 95:Water stream in the shower could have been a little bit stronger. Parking in the street can be a little bit tricky, depending on the free space (residential street)
Review 96:Very friendly and polite staff. Very nice decor and ambiance, cosy room with good bed, good breakfast.
Review 97:Location was a bit out of town but it is a VERY small town, 10 minute walk to train station or to the centre. Wifi signal was not very good in my room (nr: 9, 2nd floor). There was no a/c but the fan placed in the room was enough.
Review 98:Room was clean and nicely decorated. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok
Review 99:A little distance from the centre but a small price to pay for the lovely hotel.
Review 100:Very interesting quirky hotel. The antique rooms are excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 101:The room could have been a bit more carefully vacumed.
Review 102:I stayed in the "antique" blue room (115) shown on the photos. It was fun staying in such an old-charm room. Breakfast was good.
Review 103:The third floor room was too warm from the afternoon sun for a comfortable sleep
Review 104:Quiet location, clean environment. Great service especially from the young woman who helps with floral arranging, among many other jobs.
Review 105:Older and less mobile people might find the stairs challenging.
Review 106:Excellent breakfast. Very helpful friendly staff. Room appointment and decor-we saw 3 rooms, all were quite different and cute in a period way. Located in a quiet street 10 mins walk from town.
Review 107:our room was very cold, most probably due to a problem with the heating system, although we informed the staff, it was not fixed till we left the hotel next day noon.
Review 108:good location, 10 min. walk to the city center, nice local cafes and pubs in the center. The staff was (mainly)helpful, the "antique room" was interesting and clean. Breakfast was OK, but limited variety. The fireplace in the bar/restaurant was a nice touch.
Review 109:stream of water in shower could have been a little stronger - but that's merely to have something to criticize..
Review 110:1. staff 2. bed 3. location (10 min from train station) 4. bonfire in the room 5. design 6. balcony 7. comfort / facilities
Review 111:That for a two persons bed we received two one-person blankets...it isnot in the centrum but I could walk in 15 min from the Central Station
Review 112:Clean ' Dickens' style hotel, a bit outdated but with a niceatmosphere of old times...bar, free wifi, a computer downstairs, sauna, jacuzzi, slippers, bathrobes, toiletteries, very good andvariated breakfast
Review 113:The bed was two small ones together. And it was uncomfortable because it wasnt just one bed . There was two and got them together.. Really uncomfortable.
Review 114:Breakfast.
Review 115:The staff were all friendly and welcoming - even allowing us to check in early. The room was a good-sized double and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great and I'd recommend dining in the hotel restaurant - the food is delicious.
Review 116:There was a very unpleasant smell coming from the shower, presumably the water had not been run for a while.
Review 117:The bed was heavenly. I heard over breakfast many guests raving about how comfortabel they were.
Review 118:None
Review 119:Very nice staff and very nice service. I requested something beforehand. They were already arranging everything when I checked in. The room alsoclean and comfortable especially a bed. The only problem was the day Istay was the hottest day since 1976 so I couldn't stay at the roomduring the day and even at the night, I couldn't sleep without open thewindow and using a fan. But, this things are nothing with this hotel. The hotel was excellent! Breakfast also great!!
Review 120:Very cool people making us feel good
Review 121:Decor very old
Review 122:Location
