Reviews for Hotell St Clemens
Review 1:If and when you discover where Gotland is and the idyllic and beautiful town of Visby - this is the hotel to stay at. Perfectly situated, very friendly service, very comfortable room and excellent Swedish breakfast.
Review 2:The Staff is very friendly and helpful. We liked the central position of the hotel in the old town. Every room is clean and separate from the other like a little house. The breakfast is good with all fresh food and special too for the people with food allergy. We will sure come back next time.
Review 3:The room is a bit small with the price. There's time limits with the Wi-Fi, so make sure to remember the password if it is needed when having breakfast. It takes a while to get used to the door lock.
Review 4:Perfect location. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful stuff.
Review 5:The reception staff are so nice. Breakfast good enough. Bed is comfortable. location is ok, 25 min walk to the boat, a bit far. Close to the Stora square. Many eating options.
Review 6:The only problem was that the room had poor circulation so it was a bit warm.
Review 7:The staff was fantastic. They even made us sandwiches to take with us since we were leaving too early to enjoy their breakfast.
Review 8:Breakfast selections seemed surprisingly limited, though quality was good.
Review 9:A warm welcome throughout, and Calle, who checked me in, gave me the best restaurant recommendations I could have asked for, contributing tremendously to my stay in Visby. Great outdoor spaces, one adjoining the church ruins, and a nice afternoon pastry and coffee break.
Review 10:breakfast was not good. roof of the room was slanting so i kept bumping my head. bathroom door handle broke so i could not not use bathroom while night
Review 11:Hotell St Clemens is a very charming hotel in the city center of Visby, within the city walls from the medival times. Coffee/tea and cookies are offered in the reseption area. Very welcomming and serviceminded staff.
Review 12:Everything was great.
Review 13:Location, atmosphere, lounge area, superb breakfast in quaint upstairs sunny room. Thoughtful, helpful staff. Umbrellas to borrow.
Review 14:Very friendly and helpful staff, helped to book local services at best price. Good breakfast, mostly organic food. Great location, the hotel building right beside a church ruin.
Review 15:The Hotell St Clemens is within the walls of Visby and the entrance to St Clemens church is in its garden. The hotel is just across the street from the botanical gardens and a short walk from the sea . The rooms are small, but charming. Ours had a skylight, through which we watched the constantly changing weather and the stars. The staff, some of whom were owners of the hotel, did all they could to make our stay pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful and an I-pad was available in the breakfast room for those who wanted to catch up on the news but couldn't read the local papers.
Review 16:What a great place! Quiet, cozy, family run, very personable, nice outdoor spaces for sitting outside Well situated for hiking around Visby. It is not the closest hotel to ferry dock, a 20 minute walk, but for us that was a plus as the dock area is busy. The room was small as are most hotel rooms in Sweden, but very comfortable, clean and charming. Great breakfast included. The ruins of St. Clements Cathedral are right at the hotel, so we were off to a great start with the history of Visby right away. The botanical garden is just across the street, the medieval city wall and ruins of St. Katherine's Cathedral are close by. We saw other nice places to stay while we where there, but if we are lucky enough to go back to Visby someday, the Hotell St. Clements would be our first choice.
Review 17:The dangerously slippery floor material in the bathroom of the room I occupied. There could also have been a little more sitting space in the lounge area.
Review 18:Everything except the dangerously slippery bathroom floor. Particular mention of the permanent free coffee and tea offer with occasional cake or pastry specials.
Review 19:Wifi was often difficult to connect to.
Review 20:We loved the location of this hotel. And our room shared the same courtyard as the St. Clemens church ruin! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 21:The hotel was a beautiful way to stay in Visby. Loved their bicycle rentals which allowed us to travel outside the city walls and see a bit more of the island.
Review 22:We LOVED our stay here! The location, the room and the WONDERFUL staff made our stay perfect!

Review 44:Nothing
Review 45:I liked the warm welcome, the personal touch, very helpful caring staff. The location is wonderful easy walking distance to anywhere in the old town
Review 46:This is just a wonderful small hotel in the lovely town of Visby. It is right next to the historic church of St. Clemens, and an easy walk to the town center as well as the harbor. The staff is superb as is the hotel itself. They provide tea and coffee in the afternoon, and a great breakfast. Would had loved to stay a couple of more days there.
Review 47:Great place, wuite, calm, with own yard and separate entrance to St.Clemens ruin and exit to opposite botanic Garden. Good breakfast, very fast WI-FI. Location perfect - close to Stora Torget and main tourist points. Very clean and comfortable room. Being in center of tourist city did not tired me with noise.
Review 48:The small room in which we stayed was clean and cosy, the staff really kind and wishful to help. We arrived late in the night when the reception was closed but they called us to explain the really smart and easy sistem they have for delivering the keys. Only withdraw the explanation in the paper they gave us to find the room was in swedish, we understand a bit, but they did not ask. We did love the breakfast (bot food and how it was presented) and the position was really great! they even gave us a small bag of the amazing tea they serve for breakfast when we checked out! Great!
Review 49:Navigating Visby in a car is a bit of a nightmare as the streets are so narrow and twisty and the hotel has only very limited car parking which needs to be booked in advance. Staff however are brilliant at moving parked vehicles so that one can get out when necessary. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are several good ones within easy walking distance and staff will advise on these and book if necessary. From mid June to mid August Visby can be very busy. Early June or September are delightfully quiet.
Review 50:We had asked for a superior room and what we got was charming and of a reasonable size and immaculately clean and with a good bathroom. The staff were delightful and all seemed to speak English. An excellent breakfast. Visby is a charming old world city with narrow streets. The hotel is in the walled part of the city and its location among the ruins of a church and next to the botanical gardens close to the sea can only be described as romantic. The island of Gotland is full of interesting historical and geological sitesand is wonderfully uncrowded.
Review 51:Strong mildew smell in bathroom. Room was a bit stuffy. No fan.
Review 52:Excellent location, friendly staff.
Review 53:The hotel is most interesting, with several small buildings housing the guest rooms. The breakfast is great, varied and tasty.
Review 54:The staff was extremely helpful and gracious, our room was charming and very clean, and the breakfasts were fabulous!
Review 55:Everything. The staff couldn't do enough for you.
