Reviews for The Lake View Toya Nonokaze Resort

Review 1:Onsen, good dinner and brekfast buffet, great service and courteous staff (always smiling), shuttle to sapporo station, spacious room with great lake view.

Review 2:Hotel logo is too small to find the hotel for first-time visitors. Traffic infomation in website is too high level. Actually the reception knows there is bus station 中央通利 in front of hotel. Dinner is buffet which is just so so.

Review 3:Space is huge compared to most Japanese hotels. Room faces lake Toya.

Review 4:Wish the dinner could be more traditional Japanese style instead of buffet.

Review 5:The design of the hotel is brilliant. Rooms come with amazing view of the lake and the mountain. The onsen is superb!

Review 6:Location and their hospitality is extremely awesome. The staff in this hotel really shown their excellent services level and professionalism in this industry The staff - Ms Penny, is so helpful and really make us feel at home. A BIG THANKYOU TO YOU. The stay made me feel like "Japanese" house, really love this feel, very very Japanese.

Review 7:If you can, request a room on a higher level. We were at the 4th floor, and half of our view was blocked.

Review 8:Spectacular service, fun and expansive buffet. We really enjoyed spending Christmas at this hotel, sitting on the comfy couch listening to the holiday music in the lobby. The onsen is outstanding, it feels great to be in the rooftop pool taking in the view. Private bath was also larger than expected.

Review 9:Everything was great!!!

Review 10:This hotel is amazing. We got the half board option that includes breakfast and dinner and it was really good. The food was delicious and a lot of options to choose from. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is located in the town so easy access to restaurants. We were in the hotel in the winter so not a little t to do but the views are amazing and you can just relax. We will definitely come back to this hotel. It looked old like they have more activities during spring and summer and this is the hotel you want to stay. It was a good value for your money.

Review 11:Excellent hotel which is probably one of the nicest I have stayed at in any of my ten trips to Japan. Check in time is 3pm and you cannot check in early, but they will hold your luggage beforehand. The room was very large with wide windows overlooking the lake and a comfortable sofa. The room had a high quality feel to the decoration and amenities. The spa facilities were good and quite large and always seemed quiet and spacious, even when there were quite a few people there. The roof top pool overlooking the lake was particularly nice. The food selection which was buffet style, was of a good standard and there were extensive choices for both Asian and western styles. Both dinner and breakfast were equally pleasant. Staff were helpful and polite throughout. Highly recommended to stay here.

Review 12:Do not provide the transport from Toya JR station. It's hard to find a taxi when snow is heavy.

Review 13:Friendly staffs, nice food, lovely ambience, excellent onsen !

Review 14:One of the service staff was quite impatient and show an unhappy faces when we ask him question

Review 15:Outdoor Onsen was great. Geogerous view of the lake everywhere

Review 16:Nothing.

Review 17:The outdoor onsen view is awesome! Buffet was great, nice view from the room. Service was impeccable, and the way they stood in line in the snow to send us off!

Review 18:1. No free shuttle bus transfer between Toya JR & the hotel.

Review 19:1. Fantastic views facing Lake Toya. 2. Indoor & outdoor onsen. 3. Personalised service. 4. Free bus shuttle to & fm Sapporo. 5. Select 108 selling a variety of souvenirs & local products. 6. Delicious buffet breakfast & dinner. 7. Yukatas & shoes are provided for hotel guests. 8. Felt very touched when the mgmt & staff waived good bye to us under the heavy snow when the free shuttle bus left for Sapporo.

Review 20:Telephone number from booking.com not update so if you drive and have to input hotel phone number in GPS it won't work. You have to input Japanese address in Japanese language instead. Also the hotel name is not same as show in booking.com in Englis; it shows in Japanese.

Review 21:Good Lake Toya view

Review 22:Take a taxi ride from the train station to the hotel, it is more convenient; do not take the public bus service - the driver of Donan Bus No. 50 is rude and discourteous..

Review 23:Excellent Location - excellent view of the lake and mountains + near other tourist spots; Staff is very courteous and very helpful - VIP treatment is the standard; warm welcome and great send-off; wonderful dining experience; wearing the Yukata (hotel provides this free of charge) allows you to experience a part of Japanese culture..

Review 24:Quality of the Onsen spring water not as good as we anticipated when compared to other onsens like those in Kyushu.

Review 25:Centrally located and easy access to most sight seeing places by public or private transport. Attentive service and large room with good amenities. Well maintained. Good spread for lunch and dinner.

Review 26:The buffet style for dinner. When I pay so much for a room I expected some authentic serving of Japanese food, not a whole array of mediocre mass display, no Japanese culture in it at all. I much prefer the smaller ryokans in terms of a genuine Japanese experience.

Review 27:What we like most is the view from the room. You walk in and you are greeted with an amazing view of the lake. While we were there, we were treated with a trio musical performance. That was a real treat, we truly enjoyed ourselves.

Review 28:service of the staff was excellent, the view from the room of the lake, The private rental stone sauna and the private hot spring bath was excellent.,

Review 29:The breakfast and dinner choices are normal. Not to my expectations with this hotel.

Review 30:The location is convenient and the view from the room is stunning and beautiful.

Review 31:ensuite toilet was smelly (pee smell), they did not clean it properly from the last guest. White plastic trays in buffet restaurant should be changed to black lacquer trays for a more classy feel.

Review 32:All rooms are lake facing so you can enjoy nightly fireworks over the lake from the comfort of your room. Onsen is a good size and was not too busy despite the large number of rooms. Staff that speak English/Korean/Mandarin can be easily identified by their coloured badges. Good variety at the buffet.

Review 33:If one had to nitpick, the hotel could provide a shuttle service to the train station as the public buses didn't serm adequate.

Review 34:The warm welcome and the amazing view of the lake at the entrance were overwhelming. The impressiveness continues to the rooms, all of which are designed to take full advantage of the views of the lake.

Review 35:We reserved a non-smoking room but we should stay in a smokers room with a really bad smell. For changing the room we we charged additional 12000 Yen for two nights. We agreed and were allowed to stay in a barrier free room with the atmosphere of a private patient's rioom in hospital! For that room rate we could have comfortably stayed in the nearby Windsor hotel we the International summit was held!

Review 36:The bath on the roof top has an amazing view of the lake Toya.

Review 37:The view of the lake is superb. The outdoor onset is a unique experience. The room is big, modern and ours came with a balcony which allowed us to view the nightly fireworks comfortably. The 8-course French Dinner we ordered was luxurious and delicious.

Review 38:Nil.

Review 39:Spa side room was very good. Lake view can watch fireworks from room. Dinner and breakfast had excellent choices. Car park was conveniently handled by the valets. Staff took effort to escort to room while explaining hotel facilities and room amenities.

Review 40:High end hotel resort set in beautiful and serene surroundings. Watching the fireworks go off at night while enjoying the rooftop onsen was a definite highlight for me.

Review 41:Not a criticism, but travellers should be aware that Lake View does not offer a laundry service for guests' clothing items.

Review 42:Top location, with excellent views of Lake Toya, Nakajima and evening fireworks. Staff always courteous and helpful. Relaxing rooftop public baths. Outstanding choice of dishes at both dinner & breakfast. The hotel bus from Sapporo Station provides both an easy way of getting to the hotel and interesting mountain & farm scenery along the way. This hotel fully deserves 10/10.

Review 43:Very spacious room with an excellent view of the lake. Very good location; just five-minute walk from the bus terminal. The reception staff is very helpful!

Review 44:The onsen. It does not seem to be very clean. It may be due to the materials. Somehow, it makes me feel not as comfortable. The location is not convenient if you don't drive.

Review 45:The modern look of the lobby, the helpfulness of the staff at the reception and most importantly, the waiters at the restaurant.

Review 46:No pick up service from the JR Toya station. We have stayed two nights and are disappointed to find that the menu repeats!

Review 47:The lake view is impressive. The room is big and comfortable. Onsen is good. The food is good though there are only limited choices. The staff is friendly and passionate. They try their best to speak English.

Review 48:the free bus shuttle from & to Sapporo is not good. Leaving Hotel for Sapporo should be 11.00 am, not 10.00am which is too early.

Review 49:the extensive buffet -both Dinner and Breakfast, delicious food. Nice amenities and toiletries offered. Good room size.

Review 50:NONE~

Review 51:Good location with the pretty view of the lake toya!!!!!!!!!!! The room is big enough and also with the view of the lake toya that you can enjoy the firework in your room.

Review 52:Everything was superb ! Wonderful onsen with spectacular views and food served was delicious ! We stayed in a spacious room with the magnificent lake view and it was very comfortable !

Review 53:Asked for a 15 mins later check out. It was granted but with a warning of a ¥5000 charge if later than 20 mins. Felt they were very eager to get me out. I paid US$800 p/n for the room, I think asking for a 15 mins late check out is not asking for too much.

Review 54:Enjoyed the firework display whilst in their roof top hotspring.

Review 55:A bit pricey, but worth the stay.

Review 56:Great location overlooking Lake Toya with good view of nightly fireworks in summer. Beautifully appointed rooms, hotel interior and amenities that exude class and comfort. Nice public baths with open-air rooftop views of Lake Toya. Good selection of food at buffet restaurant.

Review 57:Didn't get a non-smoking room though requested for (and we had a three-year-old with us). Could smell the smoke through the aircon system :(

Review 58:The rooms were huge. Bed area, sofa area, Japanese tatami seating areaand bathroom.Amenities very well-stocked - for him and her, yukatas, slippers etc. Onsen is nice especially the rooftop one. Food is decent with some standouts. View from the room and hotel of Lake Toya is fantastic, including the view at night with the fireworks on the lake.

Review 59:Oily stain on the wooden room floor and oily air in the hallway on 7 th floor.

Review 60:Good quality of buffet varieties, polite staff, many onsens with good view

Review 61:No direct access from hotel to the lake even though the hotel is on the lake! No information available about local area and how to access other local attractions. Check-in process is slow.

Review 62:The location, the view, the food, the spa, and the free shuttle bus from Sapporo.

Review 63:Very nice hotel. Nice staff. We informed the Hotel we are celebrating our 2nd Anniversity with my husband, they upgraded us the room and also my family's room. Awesome lake view, wonderful to see the firework with onsen inside your own room. Also excellent breakfast and dinner buffet.

Review 64:The English level of the staff is not good enough compare to other hotel in Japan, including some budget hotels. I can only meet one nice staff which can speak fluent English. A small problem occurred and I felt helpless because that nice staff was not here at that time.

Review 65:I had an excellent night here, I like it very much. I am glad that a welcome staff can speak my own language which is Cantonese, its a surprise.

Review 66:no printing service.

Review 67:excellent service from the staff, be it front desk or buffet restaurant. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make you feel at home. good room size and perfect lake view for fireworks display.

Review 68:It would be nice if hotel guests are allowed to take the shuttle bus from Sapporo even if they have forgotten to make a reservation(subjected to available seats).

Review 69:spacious room, fantastic food, friendly staff and serene lake view.

Review 70:A room with private on-sen is not suitable for elderly person. Better view from a standard room than a room with a private on-sen

Review 71:great staffs and location. Great view from a room and on-sen.

Review 72:Nothing that I didn't like. All hotels should be like this!

Review 73:The location, the view from the rooms, the food (dinner / breakfast) is just fantastic. Love the view from the restaurant.

Review 74:The buffet was good but it does not go along with other luxuries and the first class environment of the hotel. Trays and utensils make you think of a canteen.

Review 75:The view and the onsen.

Review 76:The street is very quite, seem quite deserted during the time we were there in early June.

Review 77:Service is top-notch. Staff generally can speak some English. I especially like the ladies' onsen. Comfortable, with full view of the lake. Hotel seems new, and the bedroom is spacious enough to fit 4, ie, 2 beds and 2 tatami. We also enjoyed the fireworks over the lake. It lasted about 15 minutes, and we could get good view of the fireworks from our bedroom. We also enjoyed their buffet dinner & breakfast. The spread is more than the other hotels. We will be pleased to stay there again when we visit Toya.

Review 78:When we checked in, we were told that there would be someone helping us setting up the tatami later. We waited and nobody came, called the front desk and were told that the staff was off work. Although in the end there were someone coming to help us with the bed. We still think it would be thoughtful to always have a night crew to help the guests.

Review 79:The location is great, the food is great, love the hot springs and the views.

Review 80:No Air condition, just has only heater.

Review 81:Free shuttle bus service form Sapporo, from South gate 2nd fl., of Esta Department Store. Varieties of Foods both dinner and breakfast.

Review 82:My family(all 4) stayed in so-called quadruple room but it was too small. There are only two of single bed and we have to make place for another two putting aside tea table.

Review 83:It's close to bus terminal. The view from out door onsen is couldn't be better.

Review 84:Half board included but the food is mainly Japanese style.

Review 85:Friendly staff. Nice hot spring baths, especially the one on roof top which offers fantastic view of the firework at night. Tried the stone bath and massage as well and enjoyed a lot.

Review 86:If they can offer better price, it will be prefect.

Review 87:The price is not lovely but it is worth to stay. All facilities such as onsen, message chairs in hotel are good and new. They have prefect indoor and outdoor onsens. We can see good lake view and firework (May-Aug). As the weather was not good when we stayed, we spent whole day in hotel but we didn't feel bored.

Review 88:everything. The room is especially spacious given the fact that it's in Japan. Very clear and unforgettable view of the lake from the rooftop open air onson. Location is also great: just a 2-minute walk from the Toyako onson bus terminal. Breakfast and dinner buffet offers a great spectrum of choices and tastes.

Review 89:I made the reservation for non-smoking room. Requested for high floor and nice view. I got all the opposite. Smoking, low floor at the corner which has only straight view. Asking for change to non smoking due to the strong smell. The staff requested to pay a lot more to suite. End up with have to open the window the whole night.

Review 90:I cant find anything to complain really..

Review 91:The awesome view of Lake Toya.. Its right in front of you from the window (About 10 metres away). It was great to arrive at the hotel to have valet park your car, your luggage handled by the bell hop, checked in seamlessly and a nice cold drink + a cookie whilst waiting to check in (waited only a mere 1 min). To say the staff provided excellent service was an understatement. Onsen couldnt have been more perfect.. Imagine soaking in the hotspring on the roof top overlooking Lake Toya and watch fireworks at night. Food was superb.

Review 92:This is the easiest hotel to review of my entire trip because it scored a perfect score without a doubt! Excellent staffs service. Staffs were extremely accommodating and most of them are relatively proficient in English. Highlights were: there was a beautiful female staff which I am truly sorry for not getting her name to eulogize. She was extremely patient and attentive with my family and explained everything well when bringing us up to our room. And during the checkout, she was the same person whom brought us to our car and with very candid concern asked about our next location/activities of our itinerary. Upon learning where we intend to go/do, quickly ran to get the relevant brochures and discount coupons for us. Her beauty and mannerism was incredibly captivating. When we drove back to the hotel to find food as we couldn't find any nearby due to the timing, the hotel staffs were again very accommodating and offered to park the car and lend their limited parking space though we had already checked out. (They could just simply refuse us). Onsen was excellent due to the "infinity pool" at the outdoor onsen; Much better than Singapore's Marina Bay Sands infinity pool. Breakfast and dinner were excellent as well. With impeccable dining area which is both comfortable and with good lake view. Highly recommend this hotel for everybody and definitely will stay there again. Probably even my honeymoon in the future!

Review 93:- The hotel is a bit far from main train station. However, if you don't have big baggages, it is walkable.

Review 94:- All staffs are prompt to serve you, friendly and very helpful. - The view from hotel room is fantastic. Beds are comfortable (both real bed and Ryokan bed). - Onsen is supurb!! - There are variety of breakfast, and also delicious.

Review 95:Everything. The moment you drive into entry way we were greeted by the parking staff who parked our car for us so we could check in right away without having to wait. The zen atmosphere of the lobby is impossible to ignore, a wonderful mix of luxury and peace. Room is nice and spacious with all the modern amenities. The resort's hot spring area offers full feature spa and even include a hot pool with fragrant apples. Our package is half board and both breakfast and dinner are buffet-style with many choices of delicious food in Japanese/Chinese/South Asian cuisine. It was very sad to leave here and we definitely will come back again! Please keep up the good work!

Review 96:The room features stunning view of the lake, and it's large and clean. We were told the room can contain maximum 4 people to stay. Hot spring is the best among all the hotels I stayed in Hokkaido. Next time i visit Hokkaido, I will definitely choose to spend sometime there again. As for the transportation from JR station to hotel, you can choose by taxi or by bus. Taxi will cost u about 20000JPY.

Review 97:If stuff can improve English would be better; Only one shift shuttle bus to Soparo

Review 98:Wonderful view from room window & Spa; Friendly stuff; Big & comfortable room; Delicious food

Review 99:Should have some change in the variety of food. Wifi connection can be improve.

Review 100:Truly lake view! Room size is reasonable and buffet is good with varieties. However it's the same kind of food everyday. Have karaoke and kids amusement.

Review 101:Accessibility via bus Food is not as good as expected - selection appears wide but quality is average

Review 102:Onsen on 9th floor with indoor and outdoor pools Terrific views from room, restaurant, lobby

Review 103:The breakfast n dinner buffet are good. The best is just add a few hundred and U can enjoy private French / Jap fusion dinner and made my stomach full. Service of staffs is top grade. The hot spring bath is superb and the private one is wonderful and must try. Body massage made me felt asleep and like in heaven.

Review 104:Wifi was very weak in the room & the property overall

Review 105:1. Excellent view of the lake from the room. 2. Amazing & delicious buffet spread. 3. Comfortable room with onsite onsen.

Review 106:A modern designed hotel with the stunning view of Lake Toya. The rooms are spacious and cozy. There are English speaking staff who are polite and helpful. The food are fresh and delicious. I have a pleasant stay there.

Review 107:A rotation of the menu will be good. We stayed for 2 nights and we were slightly disappointed that the selections at the buffet dinner and breakfast were the same as the previous day.

Review 108:Full glass windows around the hotel and in the rooms which showcase the picturesque view of Lake Toya. Worth paying more just for the view alone. The buffet dinner and breakfast were good too.

Review 109:The room temperature too hot. The toilet a bit smelly. Could do a better job at keeping it pleasant to match the clean feel of the rest of the room.

Review 110:The view from the room is breath taking. Buffet b'fast and dinner have variety of high quality choices. Staff courteous and helpful.

Review 111:the single bed was a bit small, could be better if they have offer a double bed or queen size bed instead of two single beds. Dinner could be better if they can offer crab

Review 112:hotel/facility was new, Select 108 was clean and they offer a wide range of products. Breakfast was good

Review 113:Buffet dinner / breakfast included can be improved. The restaurant itself sits next to the lake hence has beautiful view. Food was placed carefully on little dishes and lovely to look at / for picture, but taste was rather plain / not to the expectation. I guess it's more for the eyes than anything else.

Review 114:Grand lobby, just alongside the lake, great facilities, free karaoke and video games on the basement floor, spa onsen on the top two floors overlooking the lake, not packed at all. Actually when me and my mum went after dinner there was absolutely no one, as if we'd booked the spa just for us! Amazing

Review 115:Nothing

Review 116:From the time we arrived at the hotel everything was perfect. Big comfortable room with a picture perfect view of lake Toya and mt Yotei. Onsen located on the top floor was perfect. Staff were most friendly and efficient. Will definitely stay again

Review 117:Outdoor Roof top onsen with views over Lake Toya. Accesible from 9th Floor. Large, attractively appointed rooms in minimalist style with views over the lake. Breakfast and dinner buffet with variety of tasting dishes (Kaiseki dinner also available). Helpful and very personable staff. Stunning lobby with view over the lake and audio section. Grandstand view of nightly fireworks (Apr-Oct) from your room. Free shuttle service from Sapporo, from bus terminal at 1:30pm (arrive early) next to JR station.

Review 118:The only problem I had was with the pillows - they were too big and too hard for me. I sleep best with smaller feather pillows ... but I have noticed that these are not readily available in Japan.

Review 119:Our room on the 7th floor was very comfortable, and the view was fabulous. We loved watching the fireworks right outside our window both nights we were there. We could open the windows about five inches for fresh air, which I really appreciated. The breakfast and dinner buffets were fabulous. The value for what we spent couldn't have been better. Finally, an english-speaking hotel manager was a huge help to us, and we thank her; (didn't catch her name). Also, the hotel-arranged free shuttle from Sapporo worked perfectly for us, in both directions.

Review 120:Bed sheet may be too new and it made some sound when turning around during my sleep. The dinner and breakfast buffets are not so good with little Japanese food.

Review 121:This hotel lobby and rooms are also very nice with beautiful lake view. There is a massage chair at each floor's corridor and it's very nice to give us relaxation during trip. The top floor hot spring has super view with full sky with stars.

Review 122:The hotel does not have the English name reflected outside. It may take awhile locating the hotel if you are driving.

Review 123:The dinner and breakfast buffet spread was excellent! The meal itself was worth the stay!

Review 124:The best hot spring hotel ever. Very spacious, contemporary design, buffet breakfast and dinner, infinity outdoor spa overseeing the beautiful Lake Toya...

Review 125:Hotel too commercial. Their charge is very expensive for early check-in and late check out.

Review 126:Buffet dinner was excellent: wagyu beef steak, baby back ribs, salmon, scallop, prawn, squid, tuna sashimi. grilled scallop. Outdoor onsen is a must try !

Review 127:N/A

Review 128:Hotel location, Room size (very large), roof-top onsen, breakfast, overall are excellent

Review 129:Buffet selection

Review 130:The great room spacing

Review 131:Food
