Reviews for Amrâth Hotel DuCasque
Review 1:Breakfast was a little expensive and limited but a typical Dutch breakfast.
Review 2:The location is superb, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quite large. Overall very good would stay again!! Have stayed lots of times in Maastricht and this would be in the top 2 in the square!!
Review 3:The lift has its good points but can be prone to failure at the most inopportune times.
Review 4:This hotel is conveniently located right on the beautiful Vrijthof Square, and is only a short distance from the main station, which can be reached by a 15 min walk, or bus or taxi. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. The lift is a delightful museum piece and enjoys protected status.
Review 5:Breakfast was not really nice but very expensive for what it was (15 euros per person). Overall, the price (room/breakfast) is not proportioned to what is actually offered.
Review 6:location size of room
Review 7:Expensive breakfast but no items on the buffet. Few slices of bread and some jam. No eggs, no fruitjuice, no cheese, no milk, not much. Very poor.
Review 8:Location.
Review 9:Room is too small and the air conditioning and heater don't work. Parking is too expensive Toilet has bad smell
Review 10:Location is excellent and surprisingly not noisy. Staffs are really professional and helpful. Old elevator looks so fancy.
Review 11:Renovations of rooms well done but to a poor design concept. Some parts of new 'furniture' inaccessible and some slices unusable.
Review 12:Good breakfast served by excellent staff member
Review 13:Flimsy sliding glass door separating bathroom/toilet from15 room -not much privacy!Took ages to find out how to connect to wifi and front desk not much help
Review 14:Location - excellent Breakfast tip - do not pay €15 each for hotelbreakfast - go to the department store hema on Grote Staat (3 minutewalk from hotel) where a breakfast of coffee, croissant, jam, piece ofomelette baguette costs €1 (yes, one euro!) add juice for .50 cents -served 9 - 10. Join the queue!! (Also in Bruges and anywhere else wherethere is a hema store!
Review 15:Our AC didn't work in room, but luckily was pretty manageable by opening windows at night. The staff tried their best to make it work, and offered to move us to another room, but it was smaller and we decided to stay in current room.
Review 16:This is a great location that is literally steps from Vrijthof square and a few blocks from Markt square. Great central location for shopping area and lots of attractions in Maastricht. Very helpful staff that was very fluent in English, free city guides in lobby, as well as tons of brochures and info on local attractions. Our room (jr suite) was very nice, clean and even had a balcony.
Review 17:Sliding door to bathroom didn't stay closed! Breakfast and parking both very expensive. Hotel felt old and faded for the price.
Review 18:Central location and room was comfortable. Shower was amazing!
Review 19:Due to its central location it can be noisy late at night over the weekend. It was peak holiday time after all.
Review 20:The staff are a joy. They are eager to help, always smiling and pleasant, especially the lady receptionist with the glasses and the young gentleman who solved our bill regarding the breakfasts. We look forward to our stay again next year. Location is also a major plus on the Vrijthof.
Review 21:Room a bit small and the safe didn't work. Breakfast a bit average, and the free WiFi didn't work well.
Review 22:Location is close to the shops, cafes, the Market Square and River Maas and ideal for Vrijthof events. Rooms at the back are very quiet and the air conditioning was a blessing.
Review 23:Retired but ambitious army general at the reception. No double bed. Almost no door between bedroom and bathroom. Bathromm has poor vent.
Review 24:Good central location Parking available on site
Review 25:Not a problem for us but some weekend nights might be a bit noisy as it is a student town. A room at the back would help.
Review 26:Lovely boutique style hotel and easy to get to shops and restaurants.
Review 27:The bathroom door is a modern looking sliding door but offers very little in terms of privacy.
Review 28:I liked the style of the hotel and the comfort of the room
Review 29:WiFi barely worked, staff were frequently absent from the front desk. Tv was old and there were no chargers available in the room or at the front desk. Very overpriced for the level of service provided.
Review 30:The temperature control on the shower did not work properly and was potentially dangerous
Review 31:The staff were very helpful and friendly and breakfast was very good
Review 32:Moody personnel and a bit dated furniture.
Review 33:The location is great, the room was big enough and the beds were comfortable. Good size of bathroom as well.
Review 34:The glass door between the room and the bath room didn't give much of privacy. We asked for a room with a view and got non what so ever facing the back yard.
Review 35:Very nice bathroom.
Review 36:Certainly not a 4* welcoming. More like a 2* welcoming. No help with luggage. Asked for ironing board - this was given to my girlfriend in reception - she had to carry to room herself (5th floor - lift to 4th only). Junior Suite with no fridge, no slippers, no bathrobes.3* Maybe.
Review 37:You cannot get any more central in Maastricht. Room itself good.
Review 38:Convenient parking in garage under hotel but space is tight and could not turn around so had to reverse out . Breakfast poor in comparison with other 4* hotels. No water provided at breakfast. LIghting in bathroom was poor and bedroom had no mirrors other than one in the entrance corridor with a light on a timer, so ability to apply make up was somewhat hamperd.
Review 39:Staff were very helpful Good room size and modern bathroom.
Review 40:Dennis has taken the customer experience to next level. He was so proactive in all angles. He impressed us with his effort n service beyond normal hotelier has so far provided. From our arrival at the front hotel, he immediately managed the luggages end to end after long day travellng. He was so kind to assist us on photo copy on need basis. It was enjoyable stay. The location of hotel is very strategic to shopping n interesting sites. Last but no least , we like say big thank u to Dennis for superior customer experience!! From deou n nancy from penang , Malaysia
Review 41:The position if the hotel was excellent. It was central, had parking and made visiting our son who lived only 5 minutes away very easy. The view from our room over the Christmas Market was lovely
Review 42:The room probably because it was a cheap deal did not have a view, and the window was overlooking an interior wall.
Review 43:The location was great. The staff very helpfull
Review 44:Good value for money. Rooms are small but well equipped. Good and clean bathroom. The location is perfect with 1 min walking distance to shopping and bars and food.
Review 45:Brusque staff bordering on surly. The entrance lobby is dark and had an odd smell. We were not made to feel welcome so despite good rooms we would not return. The breakfast was mediocre
Review 46:A decent room, good size and well equipped. Good beds and quiet.
Review 47:Duvet far too heavy - uncomfortably so. Cost of parking.
Review 48:The hotel is excellently positioned, right in the city centre. There is good, safe parking close to hotel.
Review 49:We liked the view on the Vrijthof from the Breakfast Room and the very gentle and helpfull service ,our. Intention is to visit Maastricht next year again and to stay in our Ducasque !!
Review 50:Waiting..upon our arrival at the hotel we had to wait almost 30 minutes to be checked it. There was no one at reception no one to assist us in anything!!! The rooms was refurbished but apart of that we will not come at this hotel.
Review 51:The only good thing of staying at this 4 star property was it was very central to everything and walking distance to all shops and squares.
Review 52:Day staff was not that friendly, the night staff however was excellent. No free wifi - a bit ridiculous by today's standards.
Review 53:Very beautiful interior design, modern elegance and vintage look.
Review 54:Hotel Du Casque was in a perfect location for everything and especially for the Andre Rieu concert. The rooms were comfortable and clean. All the staff were helpful and courteous and the breakfast was plentiful. There six of us in our group and I would recommend the hotel. We all said we would stay here again. The bus, Nos.3 4 and 10 stop right outside to go to the train station, no need for a taxi, you can even walk if you don't have too much luggage.
Review 55:there was no fridge/minibar in the room, but we didn't mind because we ate out all the time; the POS didn't work when we arrived (I do not know why) so the receptionist sent me to a ATM outside even if it was dark and it was raining
Review 56:excellent position of the hotel; nice, big and clean room; quiet
Review 57:The employee at the reception was not customer-friendly. the room was renewed but was very small. Especcially the space between the bed and the toilet (just a glass-wall) was too small.
Review 58:The location, right at the Vrijthof.
Review 59:I do like a little bar in a hotel ( but we knew there wasn't one before we booked)........in the lobby, there was only seating for three people.......Whilst it looked very nice, it meant when two couples were meeting, one person was always left standing........(seemed a bit strange to me, but I suppose I'm not an interior designer!)
Review 60:The location yards from the Vrijthof and the main shopping area is perfect. The newly refurbished rooms were beautiful. Free WiFi throughout the hotel is great. Multi lingual staff were friendly and very helpful.........I loved the two quirky little seats in the lift !!!!!
Review 61:Lift only goes to fourth floor.

Review 63:Everything was very good !
Review 64:Amplasarea langa piata VRIJTHOF, camera mare si curata, toate facilitatile de la 4 stele, mic dejun cu de toate, receptioneri foarte amabili.
Review 65:Loved the hotel & would definitely stay there again - think that the cost of Breakfast was a little pricey for what was on offer - but there are lots of alternatives easily available locally.

Review 71:Would be nice to have the possibility of a pre-paid parking lot, was 70 Euro for 48 hours at the nearby Europark ! Wifi was non-existing, please upgrade that functionallity.
Review 72:Could not be closer to the center of Maastricht. Fantastic service from the staff we met.
