Reviews for Derlon Hotel Maastricht
Review 1:Value for money. In my opinion even for the winter festive period, a 200 euros a day rate is too high for a really basic and small back facing / inclined-ceiling room.
Review 2:Location. the hotel is perfectly located, at the center of the city
Review 3:There are lots of cafes and restaurants with tables on the square and there was a little bit of noise as people were going home but I should imagine in the summer months it would be noisy.
Review 4:We went to Maastricht to visit the Christmas Market and to do some Christmas shopping. The hotel's situation is excellent for this as it is right in the centre and everything is do-able on foot. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Nespresso coffee machine in room was very much appreciated.
Review 5:Hotel is a bit dated with regard to interior and personally I don't like to single beds (pushed together) to serve as a double bed... Elevator needs an upgrade, there is only one for the hotel and is extremely slow!
Review 6:Derlon has the best possible location for a great experience downtown Maastricht. I loved the attitude of the staff, great hospitality!!
Review 7:Very dirty carpets, shower curtain with a bathtub is not worthy for that price class, I was with my wife and we got a tiny room with two single beds in stead of a matrimonial bed, so byebye romantic weekend! Very very disappointing and non-existent reception. It took us 5 minutes to understand that the reception is a small glass table where no staff is sitting. Even the Van der Valk is better and half the price. Only the location is excellent
Review 8:Not keen on the reception area at all. Very confusing to enter a bar and dicover reception at a small desk next to a bar.
Review 9:Loved the location and spacious room with fully-opening large windows. Friendly, helpful staff were always willing to make recommendations to enhance our stay.
Review 10:Dirty corridors, always stuck with containers of housekeeping, rooms need upgrade. no new towels in the evening. No housekeeping in the evening . ( preparing bed and room for the night.) .
Review 11:A bit noisy early in the morning
Review 12:Excellent hotel - Sophisticated City The rooms are brilliantly designed Bathroom is perfect Easy parking Right in the City centre
Review 13:Bedroom. Shower & toilet made into a wet room, enclosed in a glass screen in corner of bedroom, wash basin i located in wardrobe cupboard. Bedroom cleaning not up to standard.
Review 14:Central location in old town Front of house staff efficient & friendly. Reception always ready to help. Good aircondioning particularly in bedroom
Review 15:Room fabulous, very clean and contemporary. nice finishing touches (rubber duck for the bath ! great fun). brilliant location. Museum in hotel very unique and gave an insight into the history of Maastricht. well worth a stay.
Review 16:Only thing we would change is that the breakfast area is dark (black walls, black floor ) particularly the entrance. We noticed several people stumbling a little on the way in because of the insufficient lighting.
Review 17:Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location in a very attractive square. Excellent food.
Review 18:At first, the hallways appear to be somewhat outdated, but the rooms are actually very fine. The breakfast charge is at the high side.
Review 19:Excellently located for inner city, with public parking just around the corner. Large rooms and bathroom. Nice touch with the old Roman excavations in the basement.
Review 20:No wifi in room relatively small room cramped groundfloor lay out with strange reception location
Review 21:Great Central location Well decorated room and bathroom Super friendly staff Excellent breakfast in nice historic setting Free use of Hotel umbrella
Review 22:I didn't buy breakfast--it's 25 euros, which is really steep, though I would have loved to sit in the pictured archaeological site to eat.
Review 23:With its location on a historic square, you start sightseeing when you step out the door. At least three Michelin-listed restaurants nearby, including a very good one in the hotel. You are surrounded by history--and fascinating shops.
Review 24:Small beds Wifi in breakfastroom is not very good Breakfast is great, but the location (basement) too dark
Review 25:Great location, friendly staff, very clean
Review 26:Morning early garbage collection on street resulted in noisy early rise. Despite the ambiance, breakfast is unfortunately a bit steeply priced for its content.
Review 27:Excellent location for inner city, at a easy walk to nearby parking garage and all Maastricht attractions. Friendly staff and nice ambiance. Rooms spacious and well equipped.
Review 28:the room was not able to accomodate an extra bed for our 5 year old girl. the bathroom is formed of glass and it is in the room. it is transparent in some parts. if you are not a family staying together, you may have difficulty.
Review 29:the location is very good.
Review 30:Room was not cleaned properly after last visit, staff slow to react and correct issues
Review 31:The location of this Hotel is fantastic and the breakfast very good. the outdoor terrace is also very pleasant
Review 32:Nespresso machine in the room, but no tea. Exorbitantly expensive breakfast (€25 pp) which we did not try. Could be noisy on summer nights since the square is a popular place to have dinner and drinks until late. (The hotel provides earplugs and the windows are double pane).
Review 33:Prime location on the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein. Very friendly staff. Roman remains in the basement. Sizeable and comfortable room with view on the square. In operation since 19th century.
Review 34:The room was comfortable and peaceful, patricularly in view of it being in the towm centre. The reastsurant was very good and priced similarly to other places nearby. The breakfast was great The staff were friendly
Review 35:The reception desk is in a wierd location and it can be very conjested with the resturant and lounge area right there.
Review 36:Great location and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We greatly enjoyed the breakfast-as we were given a 50% reduction card-and ate in the basement ruins museum. Very cool. Plus they gave us a reduction for our parking, as well.
Review 37:* Poor WiFi reception * Old fashioned bathrooms (shower curtains are no longer fashionable and show bad taste and terrible hygiene!!!) * Rooms with nice design don't make up for poor matrasses and terrible view on a roof of a church...
Review 38:* Great location * Super friendly staff * Nice interior
Review 39:For this price level you don't expect to drag your suitcases through the hotel yourself. The beds are terrible, with dust clouds underneath them, the shower is two star level.
Review 40:The location is perfect and the breakfast is very good. Staff is pleasant but the staff numbers far from sufficient.
Review 41:It was noisy at times from local bars and bottle collections early in the morning. On the expensive side especially for breakfast
Review 42:Stylish decor with helpful friendly staff.
Review 43:Not too impressed with the dinner menu, not a huge choice and quite expensive so we ate else where. I'm sure the food was lovely but was not for us.
Review 44:the friendly and helpful staff and the ease of booking in. The breakfast was excellent and the location was perfect. Loved looking at the roman ruins while eating breakfast...very quircky!!!!
Review 45:the attitude. That you can ring a cilent the night before they are due to move and expect them to just accept it.
Review 46:Didn't get the chance to like anything as i had a call the night before to tell me they had an electrical fault which was obviusly caused by( a double booking) which i know about the way hotels work please do not treat your clients as idiots.
Review 47:The elevator was a bit slow, a very minor drawback in an otherwise brilliant hotel.
Review 48:A very modern hotel in the heart of old town. Very youthful and friendly staff, makes you feel very welcome . The food was excellent and they went out of their way to make a vegetarian dinner for us.
