Reviews for Moevenpick Hotel Casablanca
Review 1:Badly located. Very difficult to get a taxi . Very noisy location at a junction of many roads. Taxis refuse to go through that area. No great variety of food for breakfast. Bed not comfortable.
Review 2:Staff are friendly.
Review 3:Buufet breakfast was good
Review 4:Nothing I liked hotel room were noisy you can hear tv next room I booked through booking com and requested free shuttle to and from hotel not arranged wifi was worst only one device per room was allowed that too was working seldomly.
Review 5:The bellow wasn't that comfortable
Review 6:The people who were working at the hotel were professional , the room was specious, clean and tidy . The break fast was quite good . I think it's the best hotel to stay in Casa blanca
Review 7:Make sure that when receive receipts from restaurant do not sign receipt and then pay cash - as it is seen as a tip rather than the bill. Hotel was good at resolving the misunderstanding and overall hotel was a good stay.
Review 8:The 16th Floor restaurant. The staff, very friendly and helpful. Overall nice hotel.
Review 9:It takes an engineer to figure out how to use the bathtub!
Review 10:Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Better hotel for business than exploration, since taxis are more expensive in Casablanca than elsewhere in Morocco.
Review 11:- Room was noisy (I could hear the noise from the traffic downstairs through the room windows) - Impossible to connect to the internet in the room (maybe was my room to far away from the router?)
Review 12:- Room was comfortable and clean - Facilities - Breakfast
Review 13:W were on the 8th for and we can hear people talking from the streets. The room is very stuffy and the carpet is in need of changing or cleaning. The bell boy was helpful but seemed like he was waiting for a tip
Review 14:The list is long. Less service in bathroom then a 4 stars. Kitchen close at any restaurants or zone inside but if you order by room service you can eat. Obviously I ordered a big beef and I received a plate of fries with salad and a small ball of meat. The menu in the morning is not for a 5 stars and the checkout was horrible. Pay attention at the invoice. I found all dinners, but I had half board. Then they removed something but still dinners inside. After 3 discussion I paid but you lost a client. The director was apologize for it but when your angry you can't think anymore
Review 15:The movenpick is a great group and I like their hotel. Also this one is nice and you can find the same style
Review 16:it is in the centre but unfortunately there is a terrible pollution problem due to cars. I walked outside hotel and breathing was very hard because of smokes of cars. Next time i wil stay at an outside hotel
Review 17:Room was okay, hotel was okay.
Review 18:Staff were rude and unhelpful especially the reception staff . They had an money exchange with not enough local currency . We requested a smoking room when booking however upon arrival were told the whole hotel is nonsmoking !! The pool was tiny. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless it's just for one night and there is no other option .
Review 19:The gym was brand new with an array of new high quality equipment. Breakfast was fantastic with so much to choose from including fresh made omelettes of your choice. The universal mobile phone charging station was a life saver. The staff were super friendly and helped with any request.
Review 20:expensive breakfast - more than in EU :) Ordered pick up from airport was not waiting for me at the airport - price set on 450 MAD - I had to pick up independent taxi - but for 300 MAD - so finally better solution 1. night not working toilet in the room 2. night moved to room with queen sized bed (ordered king version) - finally moved to last room which was ok 3. night - phone call in the middle of night from reception - error from reception WIFI solution
Review 21:Good place Staff finally managed my needs
Review 22:The reception staff - three women. They seemed more concerned about themselves and the way they look - than to take care of the customers with a smile. Didn't like the ignorant way they treated the customers. Saw it when I was waiting in line to get help at the reception more than once. The rest of the staff was very nice. There was several lamps broke, in the room and in the bathroom. It was also dirty carpets in the room.
Review 23:The entrance. The pool at the roof and the staff there. The location of the hotel. The toiletries had amazing scents.
Review 24:I got email from booking that my reservations cancelled but no problem I can chick in before 18:00 pm then I arrived 14:00 they refused and send me to another hotel this night
Review 25:In the City centre
Review 26:It was very noisy. I was on the top floor but I felt like I was sleeping in the middle of rush hour traffic with various honking car horns. The windows have very very limited sound protection. Also, my AC was broken. I asked to have someone check it and they insisted it was fine and that the air would get cooler with time. It never did.
Review 27:The main lobby looks nice and the rooms are nicely decorated. The rooftop bar is also nice.
Review 28:The reception staff were rood and obnoxious. The hotel facilities existbut mostly in operative. Our room had an awful drainage smell comingfrom the bathroom that we could not sleep well because of it. Wecomplained but we were told that this was normal. When we complained inthe morning no one seemed to care. The carpet of the room was damp andit was sprayed by a strong deodorant to reduce the smell which added tothe poor night sleep. The corridors smell of fish throughout the nightwhich also seeped into our room. The reason we booked into a five starhotel is to get a good night sleep which we did not get, we thereforbelieve we were ripped off. The location is very difficult to load andoff load luggage during busy hours.
Review 29:I am very sorry to say that there is nothing we liked about our stay atMoevenpick Hotel. Everything looks good on the surface but everythinglacks substance.
Review 30:It is basically dirty hotel covered up the dirt behind the dark colors chosen for furniture and carpet, breakfast is so bad so I recommend not to buy it and have it in any of these 2 coffee shops in front or others around or on the sea with taxi around 20 MDH for trip.
Review 31:The price for such name as movenpic looks good deal but the truth this hotel is away from being movenpic.
Review 32:Few sings to find the hotel
Review 33:The structure, the room, the swimming pool on the terrace with magnificent view, excellent breakfast. Kindness and professionalism of the chef abdul...
Review 34:Decoration is poor, furniture was old. Room was not clean, dusty. Bathroom was a disaster. The hotels location is good but so much traffic causes too much noise so be ready. Hotel deserves a 3 star instead of 5. Spa and gym is so small. They put few dumbells and call that a gym.
Review 35:The hotels location is good
Review 36:Small swimming pool and a little bit noisy because it is located at a busy crowded street. Also, the noise between the rooms can be heard. But this is not a big deal.
Review 37:Location and friendly staff. Wifi was not bad.
Review 38:Food for breakfast same everyday
Review 39:The location strategis and when we check in late maybe their room was sold but suddently they told us they will upgrade us to suite room for 2rooms..woouw wonderful
Review 40:The decor in the room is a bit dull and the pool on the roof was available but due to some restoration it was too noisy during day time.
Review 41:Staff was very professional and thoughtful. The location is good for visiting the main sites in Casablanca. They are accommodating extra children and rest room amenities are from good brand using Argan oil. The spa and message treatments on the top floor are worth the try.
Review 42:Safe and lights were broken. Asked staff many times to repair. We were promised that someone would attend (twice) but never happened. Disappointed with the staff. Not overly helpful. Chose this hotel due to the outdoor pool, but this was under renovations.
Review 43:I guess it was okay for the price.
Review 44:An employee and the website said if we order a crib for our baby it will cost money! Another employee said it is for free! Never paid for a baby crib
Review 45:Extremely pleasant staff from the door in to the door out, with professionalism, and receptionists speak english in addition to french and arabic, so nice facility, the pool on the roof is awesome. Fancy
Review 46:Some staffs were not well trained and inflexible. The rooftop swimming area is half closed for renovation. They should offer some discount ( free breakfast, etc) to compensate this construction.
Review 47:The bed and sheets were so nice and comfortable, particularly after having some discomfort elsewhere. Other facilities are good as expected.
Review 48:Nothing!
Review 49:The view of the room was excellent! The room service as well! The only thing not good was the pool out of service! But I was having this information before my arrival so... anyway! Excellent hotel!
Review 50:i was waiting 1,15 hour to get room 615. the result was: 1) wifi super poor ( close to zero), 2) no hairdryer available , even after 2 complains to housekeeping and reception. 3) no discount applied by management to be forgiven
Review 51:As someone that is not used to staying in luxurious hotels, we did not book this hotel with high expectations nor did we expect 24/7 excellent service however this hotel was appalling even with low expectations. Not only did they over charge us for our room rental, the pool they advertised could not be used so we had to pay 700dirham to travel to and use another pool close by. They sent us to a pool one night that was closed, we paid 200 dirham to get to this pool and back. We paid half board and they charged us for our dinner to which they refused to pay back and made us wait 1.30 hours. They did not have a room ready for us when we arrived neither did they have the room we asked for so they gave us a cheaper room and charged us for the expensive room we booked. I really can't believe they have such a good rating, I hope everyone else has a better stay than us.
Review 52:Friendly taxi service, excellent cleaning service and the food was lovely.
Review 53:The only dissapointment was that the swimming pool was closed due to renovation and we were not informed about it when we booked it. We travelled during our holidays and the swimming pool one was one of the main reasons for choosing this hotel. Additionally, the staff at the hotel is not friendly and helpfull at all. First of all, we were not informed that swimming pool is closed, when we found out, we were informed that we can go to the Paradise club instead at any time. When we wanted to go there on the fisrt day we were informed that it's too late and it's closed. Then we agreed to go there on the second day and agreed at the feception the time to go there. When we came to the reception another day, we were informed that club was closed since it was Sunday and we were offered to go to another hotel to the swimming pool, we waited almost for an hour, however te lady at eeception didn't arrange the transport. We left, since we didn't want to waste our time om waiting. The interesting detail was that the Paradise club was opened that day - we went to check. That was the most frustrating fact that the staff provided wrong information. After talking to the manager we got free dinner. It was nice, however left bad impression pf the staff of this hotel. I love this hotel chain and ussually stay there for the business travel, however it was dissapointing this time. That's definetely not 5* service level.
Review 54:Beautiful hotel with nicely decorated rooms, walking distance to the center and Medina. Few nice restaurants around. Good if you one to stay a bit far a way from the center chaos.
Review 55:Nothing was working. The pool was closed and the gym was set up in a conference room. I found the staff to be unhelpful and despite two men standing by the door not once was the front door opened for me, nor was I helped with my bags.
Review 56:The location was central and close to the tram which was very convenient.
Review 57:The pool was still closed for renovation Although the renovation was announced finish on the booking for the 19th July!!!
Review 58:The location and the breakfast were the really great. The room was really spacious
Review 59:The location is far from Train and airport. The name is not sound for all the taxi drivers. facilities are not available late at night neither early in the morning which is the only times available during the trip for this kind of pleasure like massage or hamam. And it is hardly 4 starts value
Review 60:I did not like anything about this hotel
Review 61:They cancelled the reservation of my colleges at last moment and they didn't pick up our head manager from the airport. Definitely i'll not recommend this hotel. The internet connection was really bad. The prices are too high for the services and facilities provided.
Review 62:Beds were comfortable and it was clean. The staff was friendly but due to lack of communication between reception, pick up service and booking department we faced a lot of difficulties and inconveniences.
Review 63:The lobby was well designed but the furniture had nicks and other visible traces of wear. The bathroom hadn't been thoroughly cleaned for some time and the carpets and furniture were dusty.
Review 64:The front desk staff was helpful in all respects and almost everyone spoke English. The rooftop pool was another highlight: exactly as pictured.
Review 65:Initially no cups provided in room for tea and coffee. Also, it took several requests to get a hair drier in the room.
Review 66:Great roof top terrace with pool and cityscape views.
Review 67:When I arrived they took credit card immediately as guarantee after that they told me that no rooms aviable(Booking been twenty days before)….and therefore they took me to another hotel for the night. They told me they would give me a room the next day but they were not sure about it….
Review 68:Wifi was keep logging out, the sport facilities were poor-expected more
Review 69:Staff was very helpful and kind, the room were well air conditioned and clean, nice pool and view
Review 70:- noisy - very small bed - wifi needed to be re-registered every time the device. stopped. and after the second attempt following the instructions a connection error occurred and could not be corrected - TV Set didn't work
Review 71:Staff communication skills, because of a unclear pamphlet advertising all-you-can-eat sushi our stay there ended up being much more expensive than what was originally booked.
Review 72:After a couple of days travelling and staying in small hotels, it seemed we had hit paradise when it got in our room here.
Review 73:Ok lets start with the out look o the hotel and the entrance i tis not a 5 stars hotel at all,in room some walls showed signs of humidity and rusty door handles,i remeber two housekeeping personels were fighting infront of me( by loud talking) , the housekeeper used to open the door to check if im not there or if im checkin out or not regardless of the (dont disturb) sign , staff there talks moroccon and french they say they do speak english but unfortunately they dont i had to repeat the words alot even theydo thing in wrong bcz they didnt understand at first place despite assuring me that they got it,food diversity was not that good for a 5stars hotel however the quality of the food was good
Review 74:Despite that everything was bot as i expected the only good thing i saw was some good attentive waiters in the restraut, although i had some troubles with the in-charge person that morning
Review 75:You would think that a five star hotel would have the intelligence to know that you can't receive emails whilst flying to your destination (7hrs)and would hold your room. Especially when you show up as you said you would at 11pm.
Review 76:I liked how the said they sent us an email to inform us. That's great but you can't get emails when you're on an airplane for seven hours.
Review 77:The bath/shower was sloping and rather slippery which made me nervous. The internet constantly was dropping.
Review 78:Very nice big rooms. Friendly staff. The pool deck on the roof is a beautiful place to relax after travel or sightseeing.
Review 79:not alligned with other Movenpick standards: It is getting old and some equipement would need particular attention or being regurbish: Seat at the pool some are broken and not fixed Staff not taking care of removing the old towels from people leaving the pool not realining the chairs either These are small stuff but that other Movenpick takes care of.
Review 80:It is a good hotel but lacking some of the Movenpick standards
Review 81:We wanted to have a pre-dinner drink, but it took so long to get served we went elsewhere.
Review 82:The hotel was very comfortable, with a huge bed and great views over the city from our room on the 11th floor. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the tram stop outside was very convenient for exploring the city and heading to the train station on our departure.
Review 83:The staff were among the best I have met in many years of staying in hotels worldwide, so helpful, attentive and polite. The food and wines were excellent and very good value. Simply, an all-round top hotel.
Review 84:We stayed for a night before taking our flight home. Functional business-like rooms, great value for what we paid. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain about.
Review 85:The hotel is located in a very busy area of the city, with a city tram just outside the door. Although we were leisure travelers, there were obviously lots of business travelers there as well. The lobby is elegant and the staff was very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was street noise audible during the day and early evening but this diminished and was not noticeable by bedtime. There is a lovely rooftop pool with seating and bar service available, and a view of the city. We used the spa for a fancy hammam, which was fabulous. This was not exactly a traditional hammam, but was amazing even so. Breakfast was plentiful, with something for everyone. It included cheese, meats, fruit, pastries, traditional Moroccan foods and much more. Overall, a good place to stay.
Review 86:Noise from traffic. Didnt have bed changed. Housekeeping was poor not leaving supplies of tea, coffee and sugar and clean cups. Room was dusty. No fresh air just air con as windows didn't open. Drink was expensive and breakfast not included in price
Review 87:Nice big room
Review 88:Beds are not very comfortable. The Wifi could only handle one device at a time.
Review 89:Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was good and public transport close by to get places.
Review 90:Right off the elevator on our floor the hallway was dim and had the most unpleasant depressing brown and white vertical striped painted walls, which carried into the room! UGLY! The bathroom was down a little hall within the room, which was awkward. Apparently this was formerly a Holiday Inn, so if you are taking a cab there the driver may not know it as the Moevenpick. Staff sent us to the wrong train station far from the hotel and out of town and we were not able to get the tickets we wanted for our trip.
Review 91:Lobby was pleasant
Review 92:I didn't have any bad experience, but I didn't particularly like the location of the hotel, which is on a very busy and noisy road and is not close to interesting restaurants and cafes.
Review 93:Very friendly, polite and client-oriented staff; spacious and comfortable room (although would have preferred a bigger window allowing for more light); modern bathroom; nice breakfast; great to have free wifi.
Review 94:I made an arrangement for airport transfer with the hotel. When my flight landed I did not see anyone and took a private taxi for 300 dirhadirhams. When I got to Movenpick the airport transfer guy was arguing with me and the checkin clerk. I didn't find it pleasant.Moroccans dont have a culture of a fixed price and I wont be visiting this country ever again as I feel people just do you in.
Review 95:quality of breakfast is very poor compares to the very high price the hotel is charging: it's not in relation..!!! regular problems with wifi connection.
Review 96:location in center and rooftop wirh swimmingpool. people are kind snd helpful.
Review 97:- Moevenpick cancelled our first night booking due to large conference taking precendent over our romantic getaway. Seriously dissapointing after long period of travel beforehand. Took Hammam - masseuse was 20 mins late and finished 5 mins early!!
Review 98:+ Location next to tram Pool on roof Ideally setup for business events but do not seriously consider staying here for pleasure. The service is poor and priority is not you!
Review 99:Nothing except for the taxis by the hotel overpriced In Casablanca you take the red taxis "petit taxis"
Review 100:About everything. Marocco is an incredible place And the Moevenpick hotel is something of a kind. I mean fantastic people who always want to help, Believe you me if I tell that I haven't had such a good service in a very long time
Review 101:Lightening of bathroom was poor. It was dark. It must be iluminated more. Washhand basin was not deep enough. When I washed my hands my hands touched to the surface of dirty water and washhand basin. Also, when I washed my face, dirty water coming down from my face and dropping in washhand basin was hitting to my face again. In fact it was dirty water. So, washhand basin must be deeper and oval. Lastly, restaurant of the hotel was too expensive.
Review 102:Hotel staff was polite and friendly. Room was clean. Wireless was good.
Review 103:Piano bar was disappointing not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Review 104:Very helpfull staff, especially at the front desk, even went to the exchange for me when they didn't have enough local currency which was a nice touch. Location was convenient especially the tram stop just opposite.
Review 105:Since stepping through the hotel's door and we felt really welcomed by stastaff.Room was very pleasant, clean and comfortable. Receptionists were extremely helpful and professional and facilities are all well organised
Review 106:Suggestion, a walking map with all the major sites on it would be very helpful. Soap rack in bathroom broken. Instructions for air conditioning would be helpful for those of us not used to these things.
Review 107:Good walking distance from every where 40 mins max. On tram line. Food very nice, breakfast and dinner buffet especially. Staff so friendly and helpful, even little treat on Valentines day, so lovely as here on my own far from my loved ones. Shall defiantly come again.
Review 108:hotel is give up i think it is old and no more action it look like thay are going to close soon. İ ask map and photo copy with used mark on it.
Review 109:Location
Review 110:As north African country should be more TV channels from Countries neighbour: Algeria, Tunisia etc... And finally the prices if the rooms should be reviewed a bit expensive!
Review 111:Good location, friendly staff, everything went well during my stay...
Review 112:Wifi was incredibly slow and annoying to initiate. The terrace did not offer any views of the city. The receptionist was a tad bit snobbish.
Review 113:The place was fresh and clean, which was great when one of us had a little stomach flu. The location is easy to get to via walking and petit taxis. It costs about 15 dirham to get anywhere in the city to/from the hotel. The doormen were friendly and competent.
Review 114:Our room was on the 7th floor, but we could still hear the traffic from the street. Additionally, I ordered food to eat on the rooftop deck for lunch, but many of the options I selected from the menu were out. For a vacation hotel, I would prefer staying on Blvd. de Corniche, albeit a little further from the city center.
Review 115:The staff and the décor of the hotel were very nice. The rooms were well appointed and modern; with the shower being a extra special. The Seven Lounge on the lower level and the rooftop pool, exercise room and spa were all nice and relaxing features.
Review 116:Cumbersome WiFi, Very expensive room service and mini bar. Water a basic need was 10 times more than market price. Unethically high prices of food.
Review 117:Courteous staff, Neat & Clean Enviornment
Review 118:I did read reviews before booking this hotel, and a lot of reviews complain about the traffic. This hotel is in the centre of the city and it is Casablanca so you will hear traffic all over the city I guess.
Review 119:The staff was really nice and helpful. If you call roomservice/reception/housekeeping from your room they are really nice and send somebody directly. The location is neareby the old medina and city centre, only 15 minutes drive to the beach.
Review 120:Very welcoming staff at any time of the day. We checked in close to midnight and we still got dinner served and everything else that we needed. The hotel is Very clean and comfortable and When you walk into the hotel there's a wonderful scent. We enjoy our two nights stay over there and we are coming back in few more days.
Review 121:I expected better food in the dinner and breakfast buffet compared to others hotels I stayed at in Morocco.. I had some trouble sleeping since my room was facing the Main Street.. Also, I wish if they had complementary slippers in the rooms like most hotels have..
Review 122:I liked their spacious rooms.
Review 123:Location is bad and noisy Food is not that good ,room very small hard to get taxi out side when get out of the door you are in the middle of street which hard for taxi to pull over and pick you up
Review 124:Nothing in particular
Review 125:noise ( little ) need more isolation. breakfast need more attention especially moraccon bread and tea. expensive price for room service menu and mini bar items -
Review 126:1- staff is friendly 2- good room and clean 3- location in town down 4- no problem in parking they help
Review 127:Complementary water in rooms is only for first day, even though one pays the same everyday WIFI was terrible, on and off and completely unreliable for business purposes Breakfast was sometimes amazing and sometimes limited.
Review 128:Rooms were good, but a little noisy Staff were very professional and friendly
Review 129:GYM is too small , noise from outside, similar to most Casablanca hotels
Review 130:value for money accomodation ,great breakfast, nice clean room, comfort bed, friendly staff
Review 131:Although breakfast was good and had a lot of varieties , it was cold sometimes and not maintained warm
Review 132:Everything was good, from staff hospitality , cleanses of the hotel, the quality of service provided
Review 133:Towels and robe were worn out Hotel manual at the room got information that were no more valid
Review 134:Bed was very comfortable Good location Breakfast was good with lots of varieties
Review 135:The staff were so rude from the moment we arrived. The receptionist refused to give us change for a large bill because he had no small bills, so we had to pay the taxi driver double what he asked, but then the receptionist proceeded to pull out a huge cash drawer and count a bunch of small bills behind the counter as the shift changed. He also chased my friend through the lobby, confiscated her passport and luggage, and refused to let her visit us in our hotel room unless she paid for an extra bed (she was meeting us for lunch but they accused her of trying to sleep over. They claim that any guest visiting for more than 30 minutes must pay for a full overnight!). The coffee at breakfast was cold, and the food was all dried out and cold. We heard so much traffic from our room that it was impossible to get a good night's sleep. Don't stay here!
Review 136:Pool on the roof
Review 137:Parking is not in the hotel they rent places from a bank mane office near the hotel, if u come late security will ask u to park it alone and return to the hotel even if they have some places private out side for the hotel but they will not let u park. Bathrobe is very former and old The iron is very old too
Review 138:The bed is confortable
