Reviews for Blue Collar Hotel

Review 1:The room floors would be better with better flooring or provide slippers.

Review 2:Very interesting and different venue, very friendly and helpful staff, located very close to Eindhoven Strip station.

Review 3:Dorm room was bellow average. Very unhygienic. Bathrooms too. Too many silly little rules at the bar/restaurant area. No eating at the bar, can not order food at the bar while waiting for a table, rather slow service, can not eat at the tables provided outside.

Review 4:Well situated, within walking distance from Central Station as well as city centre and Phillips Stadion.

Review 5:Noise level was ridiculous. They were having a staff party and played loud music downstairs in the bar all night

Review 6:Very clean, close to town centre and airport also, cheap food and drinks and also really nice food and drinks

Review 7:Chek in time: 16h00 come on ! Second time I write a comment on that. That kills local tourism: you can't visit the city properly. You just manage to arrive late to Eindhoven and spend your whole day elsewhere. Not Smart :)

Review 8:Nice hostel, amazing bar & nice concept Staff perfect ! Professional & Friendly Nearby public transport (bus) to centertown & airport

Review 9:The place is very nice but if you are staying in the dorms it can be very loud not only because a lot of people are coming in and out (which is expected anyways in a dorm) but mostly because it is not possible to close the doors quietly.

Review 10:The place is very cool and near pubs, supermarkets and the bus stop to the airport. They even have a really nice bar/restaurant inside. Very clean and even the dorms feel rather private with own light, outlet and locker for each bed.

Review 11:We had a surprise with a tourist tax on our arrival that we weren't mad aware beforehand. Granted it wasn't a sizeable fee l, but it still came as an unpleasant surprise.

Review 12:Friendly staff Nice breakfast Contemporary style

Review 13:The place is fancy. Check-in at 16-00 was no problem, since they had fresh beer and giant burgers with fries at the bar for a fair price. The location for the speedfest was awesome, and since the place was overcrowded by metalheads, there was no problem at all finding a proper company. The lounge-bar, where the breakfast took place, is just awesome. Parking right at the door.

Review 14:Internet was really poor. I would like to have a steady connection, but it dropped out every 10 minutes which makes working rather though

Review 15:The restaurant was good, except the vegetarian lasagna. The blue collar desert was superb however, as for the jack daniels ribs. I liked the setting and the bathroom was nice and nclean

Review 16:Breakfast was average but that could have been because of the timing. Best get in early to get the best food

Review 17:Hands down my favourite hotel in Netherlands that I've stayed at. Big spacious room, staff who are friendly and speak English quite well. They even booked our taxi for us.

Review 18:Sound isolation is quite poor. If you have sensitive sleep I would not recommend this hotel (at least at weekend)

Review 19:The industrial atmosphere and interior is worth seeing! Nearby are many cool shops and cafés in ex-industrial buildings. The breakfast was also tasty.

Review 20:Differently from the common areas, my dorm wasn't comfortable at all…. I was alone into a big 12 people dorm with no windows, and the beds were into black boxes/bunks. You have your privacy, ok, but you don't even see if someone enters into the room, and this is ok until you travel alone and you don't know who you're going to meet. And the reason I say it, is because the dorm had direct access to the bathroom, which was shared with an other dorm (for men), and from the bathroom you could enter into the two dorms without having the key!!! So everyone who slept in the other dorm (max. 12 unknown men i suppose) had direct access to my dorm without needing a key to enter!!! I don't understand the sense of having a key of your room if people can simply open the door, and enter from inside the bathroom.Ok, it's designed in a modern way and, somehow it's stylish, it followed the industrial style of the building, you can say whatever you want, but it looked like a lager and it didn't make me feel comfortable at all. I don't know why but I felt like in a horror movie, and the bathroom doesn't inspire a quite and comfortable atmosphere neither.. It's red, ALL RED...and again, no windows, which turns everything into a very strange and uncomfortable place.. Cool to look at, at the beginning - I'm a designer, and I was very surprised….at the beginning - but it's a very aggressive color and it doesn't make you feel comfortable (I would never choose a style like that for such a room, ok, cool for the first 5 minutes, but people need to stay there!!! ) and the absence of windows and natural light doesn't help…I was happy to leave that place, I didn't feel good to sleep and stay there at all… perhaps other rooms are better - exactly like the red bathrooms with a window in it are - but unfortunately I hadn't a good experience at all, and I'm sorry to tell that because the rest of the hotel is very nice.

Review 21:The hall, the bar and the breakfast lounge are very nice, stylish and well furnished and they looked very good. I liked the colors, the furniture, the atmosphere and the music in the bar / reception. There was even a piano in the bar, TOP. Very abundant and good breakfast, but you need to pay extra for it. Comfortable bed.

Review 22:maybe the toilet room could be improved ...

Review 23:a kind of very original Hotel . once was a Phillips production premise . located in a very cool zone of Eindhoven : in the surroundings you find a nice commercial zone ... very hypster . hotel has a cosy bistrot .

Review 24:Nothing. You have to enter into the spirit of the hotel.

Review 25:Fabulously different experience. I stayed in a superior room. Quirkydoes not begin to describe it. From the red velour upholstered goldframed chairs to the steps up to the sunken bath. I laughed from theminute I arrived until I left.

Review 26:a bit hard to find and not a really safe location for wondering around

Review 27:just stayed here because the airport was closed during the night - nice bar and a pretty good place to crash for a short while

Review 28:Only slight noise from train next door.

Review 29:That it was an old industrial building. Original and simpel, but clean and warm. Good, simpel breakfast. Affordable parking garage next door.

Review 30:Was hard for me as a tourist to figure out their location but once there, it was very worth it, pretty nice spot!

Review 31:Staff was helpfull, nice alternative place, worth the price, etc.

Review 32:Room very narrow and lacks the basics of a hotel room. No Safe, no locable closet, no place to put the suitcases. pathetic metallic lockers. room condition and décor similar to refugees housing. We stayed 4 nights, first night we left at 10:00 am and came back at 8;00 pm to find out that the room was not cleaned and were told by the front desk that there is no housekeeping at this hour so we settled for fresh towels only. A lot of noise comes from the Bar downstairs and stays till early morning hours, that is in addition to the noise from the passing trains.

Review 33:Nothing, apart from the friendliness of the staff.

Review 34:Noise from railway more than anticipated even with windows closed, and freight trains run 24/7 weekdays; cleaning of room could have been a bit more thorough; and shower room/toilet was a bit utilitarian compared the the rest of the suite.

Review 35:Suites excellent for a romantic night or two; large bath in the room ideal for sharing; and hotel very close to the railway station for onward travel.

Review 36:Reception is in a bar and no-one seems to be dedicated to the hotel-reception: because of that check-in and check-out process was clumsy (the key of the Luggage-room was lost twice). Hotel is overpriced for the service they give (maybe the price was higher because is was the last weekend of the Dutch Design Week). Bathroom was not overly clean.

Review 37:Location: hotel was right in the heart of the Dutch Design Week. Hotel is located in an old Philips plant, rooms are decorated in that style, which is tastefully done. Restaurant at the 4th floor is really nice (view!). Breakfast is worth the money.

Review 38:The staffs of this hostel are always in a rush and disorganized, every time we wanted to ask anything at the front desk, it always took more than 30 minutes waiting.

Review 39:I came to Eindhoven for Dutch Design week, and the location of this hostel is quite close to the exhibitions!

Review 40:The staff behind the bar was to occupied with them selfe to even notice thirsty guests...

Review 41:The cool raw industrial design, Location, The bar was amazing. And the best bacon and scrambled eggs i had for breakfast in a long time very good and fast wifi

Review 42:The room is not clean, you can see a lot of dust in the conners. It was 52 people sharing one room when you book a bed in a mix dormitory. The location is out of centre. But great, if you come for the dutch design week which the main pavilion locates at klokgebouw area.

Review 43:The only problem was that since it is an old factory building there is no isolation on the windows, which means it is cold in the room, even though there is a working heater. The hotel is awesome for the summer, but cold for the winter.

Review 44:The personel, the food and the location of the hotel are perfect :).

Review 45:The staff were extremely helpful throughout the stay. The place has a relaxed atmosphere with great decor and facilities. Even the food was lovely and all for a good price would definitely come back

Review 46:The room we had was facing the railroad so there was some noise from the trains.

Review 47:Large room with lots of light, easy to get to from the airport ( 15 mins by bus ).

Review 48:No airconditioning or fridge. For longer stays this is a must. Not a big problem, but curtains hard to open and close due to height.

Review 49:Wonderful service, quiet location, great food, lovely bar. Easy bus/train access.

Review 50:A bit far from the center.

Review 51:A hostel in a warehouse, I loved it! I had my privacy in the room, but I can be more sociable in the bar. Close to the airport (20 minutes by bus).

Review 52:Nothing

Review 53:The hostel is super clean and modern, each bunk has a locker with loads of space and both the bed and sheets were very comfortable. It was easy to get a good night of sleep and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is close to some restaurants and bars plus the city is easy to get to by bike.

Review 54:It was amazingly good value for money, the staff were extremely friendly and the location was right next to a bus stop, which was perfect for catching an early morning flight!

Review 55:With 34 people in one spacious room, there is always some soft rumour, eventhough people try to be silent, there's constantly activity.

Review 56:private lockers, nice sheets (dekbed)

Review 57:Mdf bathroom was extremely disappointing but room was only used to sleep therefore acceptable,

Review 58:All staff worked extremely hard to have a positive effect on our stay, the hotel Manager (Bart) was very amiable, warm and very approachable

Review 59:the bed in mixed dormitory its a bed in a dormitory with 35+ beds with an only 1m2 personal space if i would know that its bed in dormitory with anatoher 35+beds i would never book

Review 60:close to the airport and friendly stuff the burger is very good as well

Review 61:It's quite near the train station/track so sometimes a bit noisy. Did not wake me up though. Breakfast can be better, but the view from the breakfast area is magnificent. Did not like the bath room. The shower is too small and the bath room is to dark.

Review 62:Very nice staff! Beautiful location in the old Philips factory in the hip and happening Strijp area. A lovely industrial interior of the bar. City centre on walking distance: 15-20 minutes.

Review 63:If you like cool things than Blue Collar Hotel is the place for you. The whole place has an industrial feeling to it (the reception, bar and the rooms) as it beeing an ex Philips factory site. The staf was realy cool, the bar is oper 00-24h and they have a lot to offer.

Review 64:The only bad would be the noise of a train nearby. There aren't many options of restaurants nearby except for the hotel's bar/restaurant.

Review 65:I liked the loft style of the hotel. The price was really good. There was a pot to boil water and coffee and tea in the room. Our experience was really good for one night stay. There is a cool bar restaurant in the lobby.

Review 66:Bad position of hotel - near trains and hotels bar where were many people in the evening. It was noisy through the night and trains went often. It is hard to sleep there.

Review 67:Friendly staff, modern look of hotel, nice room, clean rooms and hotel

Review 68:I stayed from Friday to Saturday there. Arrived back in hotel from city center before midnight and there was kind of party at the bar that is totally fine. But it was so loud during all the night (I mean really all the night) I felt like there`s party just behind my door. That was a bit too much.

Review 69:The style and interior of hotel was nice, not usual, but really nice. Loved bright red bathroom!

Review 70:The fact that I couldn't get much sleep b/c people could enter the sleeping area in and out all through the night. No chance to sleep also b/c music goes 24/7. People getting messages on their phones all through the night waking us up..

Review 71:One Very friendly staff worker who was as helpful as he could be.

Review 72:The staff are helpful, comfortable beds, awesome atmosphere with a nice industrial style (the fact it used to be a factory), it's set out well. Some great things to see in the general area too!

Review 73:Interesting setting, clean room and clean common bathrom. Very nice and helpful staff. the bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet even though I was in a dormitory. A bit far from the center, but was near to public transport which lead to both center and airport.

Review 74:The view on the parking is not really nice. There are not proper common place, nor a kitchen for cooking by yourself (when I was there it was closed). There is a big bar in the hall with tables inside and outside. I wasn't feeling comfortable in eating or drinking stuff that I have bought to the supermarket there, so I ate in the room - which is not very pleasant-.

Review 75:Very nice staff

Review 76:Dark 60 beds in a hall Looks like jail Narrow No air No minimum privacy Not silent to sleep I did not sleep one night Shared wc serves other room so very noice No shared kitchen which is a must for dorms No quiet enforcement during sleep time Price is a scandal

Review 77:The restaurant

Review 78:The property was really cool; built in an old factory! The breakfast was not included but I bought it and it was delicious. The restaurant downstairs was also very good.

Review 79:i arrived at 3pm to find that my bed was not ready so i (along with around 50 ppl) all had to wait. then when room was ready 50 people had to check in at same time with only 1 person doing check in. i finally got to my room at 8pm. they provided no compensation or free drink for the terrible wait

Review 80:the dorms, although contained around 30 beds, were divided into groups of 2 which gave some privacy and each bed has own lights and powerpoints. and wifi reached everywhere

Review 81:This hotel/hostel is a MUST ! Nice and clean dormitory, very friendly and helpful staff, crazy breakfast, strong Wi-Fi, clean showers, although mixed

Review 82:There were some small things that prevent a 10/10 rating. Like not having the old towels taken away each day (so they built up in a pile), not having used coffee cups replaced and not having a security box.

Review 83:Loved the location, the friendly staff and the comfortable bed!

Review 84:The staff were very helpful, buses across the road, breakfast was good, bed was great, room was clean and the bath was fantastic after some hectic traveling :)

Review 85:This place was really cool. The bed was fabulously comfortable and the space provided was awesome for each person was well organized. I arrived late and there was no problem about it. I would for sure stay here again.

Review 86:Parking should be free for hotel guests €6 per day it's or per entry to car park is expensive

Review 87:I liked the location the hotel its self Friendly staf

Review 88:The big dorm is divided into small compartiments for 2 pple, which gives some privacy and feels like you sleeping are on a night train. The room has no windows and the guiding lights are up all night, so you might feel a bit like in a prison as well. Upon arrival I got earplugs so there was no problem with the noise. However I really disliked the shared bathroom between men and women, some might feel uncomfortable. Most of the guests were Dutch which I guess is due to the Guus M. concerts that weekend. The place lacked the usual hostel vibe, the bar is not the place to meet felllow travelers; rather a hangout for local pple.

Review 89:Being a former Philips factory this hotel/hostel has a unique location and interior industrial design, it is a very cool looking place. The food in the restaurant is also recommended, but the service is a bit slow. The location is also a plus, it is only a few minutes of walk from the PSV Arena and the city center is also easily accessible by walk (10-15 mins) or by bus. There is also a train station next to it, and it is very convinient if you take the passenger train to Den Bosch or other cities.

Review 90:Absolutely nothing

Review 91:Location in the old Philips factory. Friendly staff. Good breakfast including a great local history chat with our man providing early breakfast.

Review 92:During our stay we've choosen to have dinner in the restaurant. That was a bad choice. After 2 hours we finally got something to eat, what we didn't order. Definately some room for improvement on that part.

Review 93:Place is full of history. Nice mix of the old industrial building with modern comfort.

Review 94:The sound of the railway; but it did not bother us too much.

Review 95:The staff is very friendly and hospitable and with the ruggedness of the old factory building it gives a unique atmosphere; all the tables are made out of used pallet wood in top condition and that adds to the atmosphere.

Review 96:No free parking. Simple/Basic rooms, not very spacious. No desk for working. Design/Interieur is a matter of taste, I did not like it.

Review 97:Price-value is OK for the Netherlands. Free WiFi.

Review 98:Perfect for a young group Comfy beds Clean Staff very helpful - sorted bike rental for us over a bank holiday where they were having to return 7 bikes for us in their minivan after we had left

Review 99:Its a long walk to the centre. Its in 1 straight line so you cant get lost but its a very long walk. When you arrive they offer to book you for breakfast but its lame. Just under 10 euro for a continental.

Review 100:Its new so everything is super clean and nice looking. we all agreed that the beds were the comfiest beds ever, even better than home

Review 101:In dorm room wasnt any Windows.

Review 102:The staff was totally awesome. Thanks for free orange juice, it made my day. For the hostel room, bed was really ok, after 3 nights feel like home.

Review 103:Breakfast is a little expensive, that's why we've prefered to have it on a cafe near the station.

Review 104:The hotel is located on an old Phillips building which is very nice. The location is ok (2 km from central station, if you don´t want to walk there is a bus stop very near) The food is very good!

Review 105:Extremely disappointed with breakfast. Very expensive for what you get.

Review 106:Great place, very quirky and unique. Location was good only a short walk into town, no need to use public transport which is always a bonus. Staff were nice and friendly. Room was small & basic but comfortable.

Review 107:No lockers in the dorms. Big dorm and thus can be loud.

Review 108:Nice hotel/hostel a few minutes away from the city centre. Friendly staff. Nice place to stay for a city trip.

Review 109:the top bunk bed was dusty.. other guests were really noisy in the midnight not spacious at all.

Review 110:nice staff, comfy bed, close from eindhoven centraal and also near to the bus stop for going to the airport

Review 111:The staff is fantastic! Ppl there are nice and helpful!! Really confy so clean and really cheap!! Close to the centre and to the trasport! Just awesome!

Review 112:For one day of staying, the hotel was perfect!

Review 113:The location near the bus stop to the airport; the facility of getting to the city center; the food and the prices of the restaurant. Although it was very rainy and windy outside, the environment was very nice. A great place to stay for a few days in Eindhoven.

Review 114:a very unsusual place....very Big, confortable..... it is also near to the bus station.. (3min walking).. the resto in the entrance is very glamour at night with a great music... and people are also nice...

Review 115:My expectations have been raised such that I'll probably never be satisfied anywhere else at that price.

Review 116:Really friendly and helpful staff, clean, well-equipped, nothing not to like.

Review 117:The room was big, clean, and really comfortable. They have a great lounge downstairs where you can have a drink or eat something or even just chill.Staff are nice and very welcoming.

Review 118:The hotel was near the train tracks and the windows didn't keep the noise at all. Also the walls of the building didn't keep the noise from the corridor. The WiFi signal in my room was crap. They say they have parking, but it is not their parking and you have to pay for it. Also the breakfast wasn't included in the room price, which wasn't obvious when I made the booking.

Review 119:The staff was very friendly, the location was good for the price and the architecture of the building was really cool!

Review 120:Online the promise was that there would be toiletries available, yet upon arrival there were none.... shops were closed and the hostel also did not have any for us to buy.

Review 121:The industrial look and the friendly staff

Review 122:the facilities in the room were too little and too basic. They make a coolinterior but it makes it at the same time too basic. No fridge, no proper light, no safe not even a proper bed table. The location is far from centre. Rooms are noisy

Review 123:the building is cool, the staff is friendly and its clean. Furthermore many things were just not it for me.

Review 124:no information in room, no phone in room, room much smaller than advertised, no room service despite advertised. uninterested staff. noisy room due to stairs and railroads.

Review 125:wifi was fast, nice bar, nearby parking, monumental building

Review 126:The only minus point was the double bed in out room. Because it were two beds pushed together. So not one bed.

Review 127:The hotel staff was very friendly! The first night we had a meal at the restaurant what was part of the hotel. The salmon i had was really good and the service was quick and friendly.

Review 128:You can eat in the hotel/hostel, but it might be a bit expensive if you stay there for a while bacause it's a real restaurant.

Review 129:Good location (take one bus to go to the center in five minutes). Decoration is very original and the staff is very nice and friendly !

Review 130:The rooms are a bit noisy so when someone walks in the hallway of the hotel with a suitcase on wheels it will make a lot of noise. You hear a lot of noise from outside (train and carpark is next to most of the rooms).

Review 131:The bar in the lobby is great! The room has a nice industrial look and feeling in line with the "Stripe S" area. Beds are comfortable, shower is good. Staff is friendly. Enough parking space for a reasonable day price

Review 132:Before I visited, I read a few negative comments about noise at night..... There is a railroad next to the building & a few party venues nearby, so if you are a very light sleeper you might want some earplugs. But I personally found it fine - got a good nights sleep each night!

Review 133:A lovely walk to/from the Airport (About 1.5 hours with suitcase in tow - via Oirschotsedijk), Or easily reachable using public transport. The hotel is very modern & unique inside - the staff that we encountered were very helpful & friendly. The food from the restaurant was very nice & good value. The room was spacious with good toilet/shower facilities & the beds were very comfy!

Review 134:I liked it all, even more then at first visit. Arnie would say :" Ï'll be back" !

Review 135:This was my 2nd stay, this time in the King's Suite, a JackDaniels themed spacious room. Beautifully done, amazed by the details. A chandelier made of whiskey bottles? Rocking chair, original casks. The room was clean, the bed comfy & large. As a welcome JD "surprises". The staff is nice, friendly and helpful. This hotel is a total gem at this former industrial location. And where else in Eindhoven can you offer your US guests a genuine King's sandwich as lunch? This kind of hotel is what our town missed as a choice. Great atmosphere !

The Fine Print
