Reviews for Residencial Vila Sodre
Review 1:the room was not cleaned up, there were still crumbs on the floor and the blanket was full with stains. the room smelled really bad like there was mold. the heater didnt work proberly and when we told the owner to have breakfast at 9, she was not prepared at all.
Review 2:It would have been nice to have had tea and coffee making facilities in our room.
Review 3:Typical Portuguese residence, and we enjoyed being close to Silves the ancient Moorish capital with its' wonderful castle and history, and there so many places to wine and dine with the local population being very sociable to be with. Our room had a great countryside view and the pool would be lovely in summer. The breakfast was ideal and laid out in a room that was more like a medieval banqueting hall alongside which was a very comprehensive wine cellar. The property is in need of updating, however, the owners are getting back on track and refurbishments are taking place. For a good local base from which to see western algarve and at an affordable price it is well worth the stay. A car is advisable.
Review 4:Rooms and towels very humid, penetrative mouldy smell. Property in general not well cared for: pool not tidied up, piles of household goods in backyard --> no good value for money. Cars passing by quite loud at night, many dogs barking all night long.
Review 5:Silves is a beautiful city, hotel close to town, easy to get there by car, bus or walking. Friendly and caring owner. Nice view over the countryside.
Review 6:Lovely room, big bed, good shower, room serviced daily. Delightful continental breakfasts. Faultless service by all staff, nothing was to much trouble.
Review 7:Wifi although free was very intermittent. Beds were slightly hard but ok for one night.
Review 8:The amazing breakfast, friendly hosts and the huge wine cellar!!
Review 9:None
Review 10:Breakfast very well served with fresh orange juice, fruit and local products. The owner of the villa was extremely helpful and friendly. Great location to visit Algarve.
Review 11:The couple that manage Vila Sodre are really nice and friendly. Always available to support and help us during the holiday. Breakfast is simply amazing, vary and with fresh fruits and home made jams and honey (the Best Breakfast in Portugal). Near to Silves, a nice small village, but not far from the best beaches in Algarve, you can reach them in a short time.
Review 12:Very comfortable and quiet place with a lovely orange garden and swimming pool. Walking distance to Silves old city. We stayed for 3 nights and it's indeed amazing. Super nice staffs provided us everything we need : from gorgeous breakfast to information about local tourism and car renting. Thank you again Inès and Andre for making our stay so memorable!
Review 13:there are some rooms from the busy roadside we did not get that :)
Review 14:we were served very very nice breakfast by the lady of the house and all food was very nice. There was a nice pool and we had a room with a garden view. very large bed. amazing vine cellar downstairs where breakfast is served.
Review 15:Vila Sodre is at the edge of Silves, about a 15 minute walk into the sleepy town (off season, in any event). You won't mind the walk however, as the rooms with balconies overlook stunning unspoilt countryside and orange groves, wonderful to wake up to (from a gigantic bed!). The hotel is run by Betty, a welcoming and warm lady, who will prepare breakfast for you any time of day (if there's some going her homemade marmalade is scrumptious). The restaurant is a delight in itself - the walls packed with crockery, side tables covered in flowers and trinkets, and a whole wall (and, we think, and entire hidden room) filled with wine dating back to at least 1890. I just loved the charm of this hotel, such a difference from the blank mundanity of the big resorts.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:This residence is typically portuguese and run by a lovely lady. The rooms are extremely clean and have the women's touch which shows in the attention to detail. In the bar there re 1000's of bottles of port stored in rack around the walls dating back to the 1000's.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 18:The road was noisier than we expected. We found the decor in our room a bit dated compared to other places we have stayed in.
Review 19:Air con in the bedroom. Good size swimming pool. Free wi-fi. Very helpful staff.
Review 20:There's nothing We didn't like.
Review 21:On my arrival I had a very big welcome from the owner n Ines the receptionist. Staff are very friendly and the accommodation is very beautiful, the views from place and has a lot extra that you can't ever imagine you will find in any be & breakfast place. I would recommend this place to any type of family's or couples In fact I will go back. Very relaxing place to stay u feel like you at home. Many thanks to Mrs.Madalena & Ines for looking after us and made us feel at home. Keep up the good job. Kind regards. Divaldo cardoso.
Review 22:Room and only window were adjacent to patio where guests can relax Not located in historical centre, but within 15 min walking distance
Review 23:Super kind staff (Ines, Ines!) Great breakfast with fresh fruit (figs, love it), orange juice from the orange trees in the garden and gastronomical products such as cheeses, honey and mortadella The pool (azulejos tiles) Town of Silves and rural surroundings (go, go, especially during the Medieval Festival in August) Room, esp the decoration (goes for the whole place actually)
