Review 1:The bed was uncomfortable, There is no toothbrush, There is no Porter and they don't have kettle.

Review 9:Front desk staff never smile. When you come to them they dont welcome you, only shakes head meaning "what do u want" 2. My reservation was for 5 nights but we desided to stay only 3 nights .. So in the moment of checking in i informed them, later when i was checking out they told me you have to pay for the 5 nights !! I refused and told them i will complain to Booking.com .. then the lady after dicussed her manager in back office .. she sayed OK pay now 3 night and the manager will contact you .. The disaster that they withdrawed the 2 nights from my credit card after i left Bosnia!! Please, i need my money back to my bank account

Review 12:No doubt the western style hotel was not matched with "western style staff". We were reprimanded for not having our special card that has our room on it. No doubt this is a luxury hotel in a country with a low standard of living. I guess that tells it all... we were also told to leave a 10 euro deposit for our towel at the pool. Certainly unusual for "western style" travelers. Overall a bit uncomfortable from that point of view.

Review 14:Staff are fairly grumpy, which is typical in the Balkans. Almost like they think that's how to be professional. Breakfast was strange - they have all the right elements, but somehow the food, juice and coffee managed to be bad. Stick to fruits and cheeses to avoid disappointment. No iron in the room. 10 AM checkout.

Review 16:The breakfast was appalling, one of the worst we've experienced intwenty years of Balkan travel. Stale bread, vile watery 'juice',totally minimal choice on offer and nothing fresh, inexcusable for ahotel like this. We gave it a second chance on the second day to see ifit was a one-off. It wasn'T. In fact it was even more inedible as itlooked like some of the same food from the day before, like thevegetables, had been recycled. Taking the chance to people watch was ajoy with all the other diners looking at their plates with a mixture ofbemusement and disgust. The role of the staff in the restaurant appears to consist of trying to make the customer experience as miserable as possible by the mindless bureaucratic attitudes and actions they display. There's something clearly wrong with the management here.
Review 17:The ongoing refurbishment at the Grand is coming along really nicely andit's clear that a lot of investment is being put into creatingstylish facilities and really cool public spaces such as the frontlobby, bar and terrace and pool and spa area. However, this is in realdanger of being completely undermined by the lack of investment in stafftraining and food quality that a hotel of this type should have. Thebreakfast was the culinary equivalent of the Gulag while some of thestaff attitudes on show in the breakfast restaurant were like somethingout of a Stalinist nightmare.
Review 18:1. The food in the main hotel was mediocre at best and basic buffet whilst the food on the beach restaurants was very poor (tough, grisly meat). At breakfast, don’t expect anything fancy, just cheap meats and in fact no fruit juices, just the local area cedevita squash which is an acquired taste.2. The AC didn’t work properly or when out of the room. So when entering the room for the first time, it was very hot, and it took a long time to cool after turning the AC on. I did report it, but it seemed nothing was done. 3. Although the hotel has been renovated, it appears it is still in need or under renovation. 4. Many claims are made on the website, but many are just not true. As an example I called for room service, but this was not available. Minibar? Well, there was an empty fridge that didn’t cool anything, just heated the room. There is also supposed to be canoes, but no sign of them. There is a mini golf course, but it is in desperate need of renovation and does not look as though it has been used for decades. 5. There are no beverage making facilities. All 4 star (and a majority of the lower ones) hotels I have stayed in have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. This is as I understand it a requirement of 3 star and above hotels. 6. Despite the fact that we were paying guests, we had to pay for deckchairs at the pool and the "hotel beach". To summarise, I am not sure how the hotel earned 4 stars as they are awarded on everything the hotel has to offer, I would say that this is a 2-3 star hotel at the moment. The building itself is good, but still requires a lot of renovation, the staff is reactive and very nice and friendly, but the service and food are mediocre at best with a lot of claims made that just are not fulfilled. If I was ever going to go to Neum again, I would stay at the Grand Hotel, but not at the current pricing, the Hotel Sunce appears to offer better value for money.

Review 23:Breakfast is very poor, in terms of variety and quality of food and attitude of staff. Some serious training is needed. Hopefully if they finish off the hotel and get the staff training right this could become a jewel.
Review 24:The hotel is still being refurbished, and some elements like the spa and gym were not finished but look like they will be high quality. The pool is huge and under-used so ideal for proper swimming. Reception staff were fine and Matko who runs the pool bar was very friendly and helpful.

Review 42:It is not normal to pay for the umbrella and chairs at the pool asresidents of the hotel. The floor around the pool has never been cleanedand it needs repairing.But the water in the pool and the pool itself isexcellent. Review 44:How much it is improving. It is a large hotel from the Tito era whichneeded to make some changes. The staff are supportive, though knowingBosnian will help. The hotel has lifts and tunnel access to the beachwhich are really convenient. Neum itself is a great place to be, withthe sort of feel of Croatia in the late 1990s, before it became soexpensive and developed. The town itself is the only one in Bosnia-Herzegovina to be sited on the spectacular Dalmatian coast, with all theadvantages of such a location.
