Review 1：Room photos shown in Booking.com show bright airy refurbished rooms in contrast to the dark and dated room that was actually allocated. Bathroom was OK though. All TV channels were Thai speaking (only) - no English speaking channel offered. Breakfast buffer hot food selection was exhausted before 8:30am on both days.

Review 2：Tuk-Tuk transport was always available to go anywhere in the city centre for just 20-25 baht/person. It therefore made no sense to drive as parking in Surat Thani is challenging.

Review 3：This hotel is not a 4 star! 2 star max! I paid extra because thought I would get quality. This was misleading. Gym poor, no air con, breakfast included but the restaurant too small so know where to sit. Just a few little small things which brought it down. It's a two star hotel max and prices should be half the price!

Review 6：The hotel is old and needs renovation. No personal safe in the room. Old blankets, old and worn furniture, electric sockets away from the beds. A/C stops when you go out of the room. One of the facade walls of the hallway is broken and under construction.

Review 22：Have read many negative comments but we do not agree. Although a bit dated and in need of maintenance here and there, you can still feel the grandeur of old times. Friendly staff and good food.

Review 73：The hotel is very aged, rooms are completely run down. Furniture, walls and floor showed wear and tear. The hotel staff has problems to understand English, which makes communication harder than usual and organising your trip with them taxing ones patience.

Review 82：The tuktuk guy just outside the hotel ripped us off when we were toleave for Koh Samui. Took 1000 Baht to take us on a bumpy ride toDonsak Pier. He refused to take us to the Surat Thani boat pier or tothe bus station where we could have easily gotten a bus to the islandthat included the ferry trip to Koh Samui. Breakfast wasn'texcellent but satisfactory. It was more Thai than international. Whatlooked like many dishes were actually ingredients and toppings forporridge or a local dish.

Review 83：I guess this is the best hotel Surat Thani has to offer. We were toldthat the hotel buidling is 30 years old. Doesn't seem like that.Simple breakfast, but better than any of the others in town, I suppose.I strongly recommend having a 2-hour Thai Massage at the hotel spa. Veryreasonably priced (400 Baht for 2 hours) and oh, so relaxing. Had nopain whatsoever for a couple of days. Ask for a masseuse named Koi.

Review 84：Upon arrival the staff were incredibly rude. We arrived as a group as part of a wedding and met up with others who had already arrived at the hotel. When I was checking in I was told that I had not booked a double bed even though I had. I had booked the middle standard of room which was more expensive than the basic room. At one stage, during the checkin, I needed to speak with someone behind me and the receptionist started to ring on a little bell located beside the counter. This ringing happened a couple of times when the staff member did not get what they wanted. To add insult to injury, everyone that checked in after us was told that they were not able to get into a double room, then magically a double room was found for them. It took several attempts on several occasions including asking for the Manager (who we never saw during our demand to move and we were told that there was no manager available) to get to move to a double room. The double room was in the standard category. This double room was better than the twin room that we had initially moved into, even though it was cheaper than the room we originally paid for. 5 mins after the whole saga, the manager magically appeared It was obvious that the staff were unwilling to lose any face, by making a compromise and keeping the customer happy, even when we were prepared to take a cheaper room.

The hotel is a bit too far away from town for a quick dinner.

Review 129：This was a stopover place at Surat Thani on our way to Ko Samui. It was clean, it was oldish, it was cheap. Just what we needed. The staff were kind, and arranged our mini bus to Ko Samui quickly without fuss. We had a really nice Thai meal in the restaurant, and breakfast next morning had a wide choice of reasonable quality. The number of people who poured in there as we left attests to the popularity of the hotel. The view out of our window at the back was great!

Review 130：Pool was not clean, and was not being filtered. I purchased the hotel for the emenities and did not mind paying the extra price for them. But was unable to use it becaused it was not being service. A 4 star hotel should have everthing working...
