Review 2:Of the seven places we visited during this trip, this was the one we felt most at home in. I would like to own an hotel like this! Very comfortable, beautifully decorated, very nice and attentive staff, excellent.
Review 3:The staff are very nice and friendly. The breakfast is spectacular and the room is very spacious and beautiful. We stayed in the suite and we had a great private terrace with a lovely view.
Review 4:Whilst the hotel boasted a most elegant sitting room, I would have liked a more comfortable chair(s) in the bedroom.
Review 5:All of it! Wonderful building, elegantly decorated, attentive staff, first class location.
Review 6:- only thing I would really dare to say is that the shower cabin is rather small. There's nothing wrong with it but the room and hotel is otherwise so beautiful that you just can't help but notice it. Really hardly a negative point actually, unless for some reason you need more space in the shower cabin.
Review 7:- wonderful staff - beautiful, charming house (we stayed in the old part of the hotel) - great breakfast, beautifully set out, lots of attention for detail - beautiful room, very clean and comfortable
Review 8:The quality of the property. Elegant, classic and comfortable . Absolutely pristine! A great welcome by the charming owner, Maria. Also immaculate and spacious rooms. We liked the quiet location and yet a few minutes walk to the lively town square.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:This was our finest accommodation of our trip so far. A beautiful old mansion decorated and refurbished in fine style. Our room was superb. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. We loved Fonte Nova!
Review 11:The bed had a wooden board under the mattress instead of a slatted frame, which made it very uncomfortable. There was a little smell of mould.
Review 12:Everything, except the bed.
Review 13:Nothing to dislike
Review 14:Quiet, close to the monatery, beautifully appointed rooms, incredible breakfast and wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. A five star experience for a three star price !!
Review 15:Welcoming staff in a beautiful building with quality finishes. Well located for visiting the region and a peaceful haven. Will definitely return to try the spa treatments!
Review 16:Great family run hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful with great attention to detail, excellent breakfast. This was the second time we stayed there and hopefully not the last if we're ever in that part of Portugal.
Review 17:The marble bathroom is beautiful but somewhat impractical, as there is not a good shower door in the bath/shower, and water gets on the marble floor, which becomes slippery.
Review 18:Gracious staff, beautiful furnishings, friendly recommendation for dinner.
Review 19:Nothing. It would have been nice if it had been a bit closer to the centre - but then it would have been less peaceful and anyway it was only 10 minutes walk from the central square.
Review 20:The rooms were lovely, fantastic bathrooms, the staff were incredibly nice to us, they really went the extra mile and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It was really peaceful. When I left my phone on the bus, they made endless calls, sent someone to the bus station to enquire and eventually called me to say that it had been found and the bus driver would drop it off when he was passing through the town again in an hour or so.
Review 21:NOTHING
Review 22:Our bathroom was the size of most hotel rooms. Beds were a little hard but asked for extra top bedding and that was solved. Hosts were charming and perfect!!! House is amazing, breakfast was amazing. It would make a fantastic honeymoon destination. Spa was relaxing LOVE THIS HOTEL!!!
Review 23:Excellent facility, excellent service!
Review 24:Only the fact that there is a very smelly river close by.
Review 25:Beautiful accommodation, v. good breakfast Staff most helpful.
Review 26:I think a minibar and a cuttle with tea/Coffey could make the stay even better
Review 27:The room, the garden, the public areas, everything
Review 28:Comfortable accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, proximity/walking distance to the Alcobaca town centre, nice heritage décor
Review 29:Close to the old monestary and the center. Beautiful, clean room. Kind staff

Review 33:Between a small hotel and an old romantic house, with an excellent service, in a quiet area, walking distance to the centre.
Review 34:Oasis of quality and exceptional customer service, everything is top-class. Must to stay for 2-3 days at least.

Review 44:Nothing!
Review 45:At home in a luxury 19th century mansion. Unforgettable experience.
Review 46:The accommodation is spacious and beautifully appointed. Staff are very friendly and attentive.
Review 47:bed bit hard
Review 48:Professionalism and friendliness of staff; quality of breakfast offering, accommodation (very big and comfortable rooms).
Review 49:We got a gunior suite very big and very nice . The breakfast was very tasty . The hotel is very nice and close to center.
Review 50:The only minor negative was that there was no WiFi in the room in which we stayed in the addition
Review 51:Wonderful staff and a charming facility in a quiet area of town, although within in easy walk of the Monastery - we stayed in the more recent addition (a huge room and a bathroom of a size equivalent to other hotel rooms in which we stayed), although spent a good deal of time in the beautiful original structure. Also, they served an absolutely first rate breakfast (both the dishes and the setting) -- by far the best we had anywhere in Portugal.
Review 52:Very hard mattress and bath far too small to lie down in. Quite pricey for a b&b in Portugal.
Review 53:Unique looking establishment with beautiful furnishings and attentive staff. Easy walk into main square and Alcabaca Monastery.
Review 54:The bed was hard and uncomfortable. For a place this nice, we expected a better bed.
Review 55:We love the area and the recommendations. Lovely but simple breakfast. Wonderful and helpful staff.
Review 56:Our Gps had a problem finding the B & B but we did finally get there and it was really worth it.
Review 57:Staying in a restored 19th century mansion is a really great experience. Everything was both elegant and efficient and the town is really nice as well as authentic.
Review 58:Room, at top of house, was rather dark, and limiting with the sloping roof. Bath/shower extremely small.
Review 59:Maria was extremely hospitable and helpful. Very elegant house and decor. Good parking and easy to walk into the center/monastery.
Review 60:Ceilings are very high. There is no way You might catch a mosquito in your room with all horrid consequences for your night sleep. - as a matter of fact there were no mosquitos, they would not be allowed to stay there.
Review 61:Beautifully kept hotel with style, taste and quality.
Review 62:Nothing to say
Review 63:Very good service, fantastic breakfast, beautiful house with original furniture, it was the most wonderful and unexpected experience. We had good advise for dinner and things to see around. Just great!!!!
Review 64:Very very nice stuff. They pay attention to details, they offer you wellcome drink - like it! Beautiful house with rich decoration inside. Breakfast! I eat many breakfasts in different hotels but this one is the winner.
Review 65:The owner and staff were so lovely. The old home was beautiful and very tastefully furnished. And the breakfast wonderful both in quality and presentation.
Review 66:Out-of-season (strawberries) and unripe fruit (papaya) at breakfast(which was green therefore and unpalatable)It was a little cold downstairs in the wifi room in the evening (but was just OK) The covers on the bed were a little low/ short and was hard to pull to cover the shoulders.
Review 67:Everything was fine. See next box for a few minor discomforts ...the juice was excellent - fresh orange and apple from Copa
Review 68:Outstanding staff, sweet and welcoming owner, beautiful challet andgrounds. Our suite was lovely! The bathroom was at least 20' longand 10' wide. Excellent comfortable beds and exceptional linens. Onething I will not forget is the chandelier in the garage. You don'tsee that every day. Very close to town and a couple of excellentrestaurants not to be missed there as well. Can't wait to go back!
Review 69:It was a chilly couple of nights and the ductless heat pump warmed the room quite nicely, but the bathroom was several degrees cooler.
Review 70:The Challet Fonte Nova had a great central location and extraordinarily beautiful interior. But the staff is what makes the difference. Everyone there treated us like royalty and did everything possible to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable.
Review 71:Great staff - it is a family owned property. Very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, excellent location, free parking. Unusual design of the room, country style and still very contemporary.
Review 72:The hotel is small, with few rooms. One of the 2 rooms we were given had a bad musty smell and we were lucky a replacement was available since they were almost full. Our room had poor lighting and television a little inconvenient for watching but overall very beautiful.
Review 73:This is a beautiful luxurious old mansion that is converted into a hotel. The furnishings are beautiful and the place has a wonderful charm. Rooms and bathrooms are large. Breakfasts were elegantly laid out and good choices of food.
Review 74:Enjoyed the Challet a great deal. Wish every hotel was thisextraordinary. The following were excellent: staff, free breakfast, freeparking walking distance to town sites/dining/center, amazing airconditioning, and cleanliness and quality of the room. An unexpectedbonus was the tv with lots of us programming. The beds in Portugal areuniformity too firm. The free wi-fi was a bit inconsistent. Staffrecommendations for dinner were top notch, local authentic food for areasonable price. My highest recommendation.
Review 75:Absolutely loved it! Away from the beach resorts and crowds, in a nice historical town. Still only a half an hour drive to the beach, or to the mountain towns. Beautiful house and extension (or separate building?) where most guest rooms are, offers comfortable, spacious rooms, and a spacious bathroom. The atmosphere is fantastic and having breakfast in the breakfast room takes you back to the lovely old Portugal. Could have for stayed weeks!
Review 76:Great restored hotel. Wonderful owner and great ambiance. You felt like you were staying in your own villa. Highly recommend. Very close to a famous monastery...walking distance. The only negative is the surrounding buildings. Some were in not great condition but that is a minor point.
Review 77:Poor internet speed. Hard mattresses. Church bell nearby that rings every 15 minutes from 7 AM - 10 PM. No hot foods at breakfast.
Review 78:Beautifully renovated mansion.
Review 79:Nothing, everything was lovely.
Review 80:We adored Challet Forte Nova. We had a great comfortable room in the new part adjacent to the beautiful old house. The staff were superr friendly and very helpful and breakfast was delicious. All in all a five star experience.
Review 81:Excellent hotel. Everything one hopes to find in a hotel is here. Good atmosphere, excellent service and attention, great breakfast, free parking facility, special housing. Exceptional and outstanding hotel.

Review 86:Staff extremely helpful. Excellent location. Large rooms. Excellent facilities
Review 87:Staff was very welcoming, bringing tea to our room when we arrived on a chilly rainy afternoon
Review 88:except monastery, not much to offer there
Review 89:It is a beautiful and stylish place. Location is perfect to see the Alcobasa monastry and we could dine nice sea food at Nazare about 10 km away.
