Reviews for Casa da Arvore
Review 1:As there aren't many food options in the historic town, it would be great if the accommodation offered some snacks ( at a cost OK) they do have drinks for sale but no food. Food in town, like any tourist town is not cheap.
Review 2:Wonderful views. Friendly owners. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast, good variety of bread and jam. nice lounge area and outside balcony to look at views.
Review 3:The location of the house is excellent. The host is a very nice person that made the best to ensure that we feel good in the house. He met us near near the public parking place to help with the luggage. Arriving in the house he invite us to a drink and gave us brief about the city and the interesting places to visit.
Review 4:Absolutely amazingly views! Couldn't have asked for a better location. The host had basic english but enough to get by. The property is right on the wall facing east so you have stunning views over Portugal. We were given a welcome port wine on arrival, and a map on which the host marked all the dining and sightseeing options. The beeakfast is great with losts of variety. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Marvao
Review 5:Lots of noise from vehicles passing under our window in the early morning. And a nearby construction work made things even worst. Noise level from the outside definitely impacted our comfort.
Review 6:The location is great. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.
Review 7:We paid extra for a room with a balcony as the pictures on booking.com showed one which appeared to have a fantastic view. On booking in the "balcony" was merely a ledge with french doors opening onto it and there was only enough room (just) for two people to stand on it and look out of the window. The balcony shown in the picture was a communal balcony which was accessed off a communal dining room.
Review 8:The views which were spectacular and the friendly hotel owner.
Review 9:Unfortunately there is some mustiness due to mood and mildew. My wife suffered allergy problems because of it. The upper floor is better than the main for mustiness.
Review 10:The location of this b&b is fantastic the views could not get much better. This is a nice old quiet building. The owner was very friendly and helpful!
Review 11:Wife had a knee replacement recently and the steep cobblestones made it difficult for her walking. I need to research the terrain conditions for mobility issues.
Review 12:View is phenomenal. The owners are wonderful to work with and the breakfast was first class. I suspect the wind is always a factor because of the location. Bring good walking shoes. Choices of restaurants. Castle is excellent. Bring lots of film if you like territorial views. Impressive drive to location. Very narrow road (but good) to get to town. Then it gets smaller within the walls. Good parking at the location. I grew up on logging roads and really enjoyed the narrow switchbacks. My wife was a flatlander and not so much. Area very rural. Great place to sit/relax and look out.
Review 13:Marvao is a magical place!! The B&B was spotless and the inn keepers were very nice. Best WiFi of our trip! Continental breakfast included meat and cheese, which was nice. Excellent bread and jams. Loved the location on the edge of the village, nice view from room.
Review 14:There is room for improvement, if the hotel wants to keep up with the high marks. The rooms could be more attractive and the bathroom more comfortable (the shower recess was basic and didn’t have a soap dish).
Review 15:Excellent location. Fantastic views from the balcony in the upper floor. The couple who run the place are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation and bathroom are adequate, though somewhat dated. The breakfast is adequate, with a variety of jams and a choice of fruits.
Review 16:Great hospitality from the persons in charge, comfortable room, familiar ambience and the breakfast was amazing. In extraordinary place like Marão, Casa da Árvore helps us to decide to visit again.
Review 17:rooms were small and poorly equipped. we could hear noise from the next room and from the reception section which is somehow located right in the corridor. staff was indifferent, breakfast items were all from a nearby supermarket. what's the point of being in Alentejo when food served in the hotel comes from a supermarket? totally unmemorable place...
Review 18:Nothing

Review 50:Absolutely everything. Gorgeous place, wonderful casa, friendly Christine, tasty breakfast. (We were lucky to be there for a music festival so the castle was alive.) Car parked safely directly below our window.
Review 51:Magnificent view from the living room. We felt to live in our home. Staff is warm, kind. Room is clean, comfortable. Breakfast is not special, but enough.
Review 52:Casa da Arvore is a most attractive bed and breakfast set within the city walls of the lovely town of Marvao. There are stunning views from the breakfast room. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was very good. The proprietor was very helpful and friendly.
Review 53:The breakfast was very basic at Casa da Arvore and could be improved in comparison to other Guest Houses we've stayed at in Portugal.
Review 54:The situation and the spectacular views out towards Spain, and the rest of Portugal a very unspoilt area
Review 55:Practically no light either in bathroom or bedroom. No place to put our luggage except on cot stored in our room.
Review 56:Perfectly ironed sheets! Beatiful laundry done for us a low cost. Sufficient choice for breakfast. Spectacular view from the breakfast room.
Review 57:Terrific location inside the walls of the hilltop town of Marvao. Rooms offer basic and somewhat spartan facilities, but they are clean and beds are comfortable. The common sitting room has a fireplace (nice on the cool nights of March) and great views over the countryside.
Review 58:Great location, really friendly owners, good price, would surely reccomend it!
Review 59:No Bar or Restaurant
