Reviews for Quinta Curral da Nora
Review 1:Really hard to find! We didn't have our phone charged so couldn't ring, also didn't know if they would speak English. Took us ages to find it. Make sure you have the means to ring - the host speaks many languages including English, French & Portuguese. The TV in our room didn't work very well.
Review 2:The host was friendly and helpful, the building was beautiful & full of interesting antiques. As it was off-season, we had the place to ourselves!
Review 3:situated a little out of town (about a 15 -20 minute walk) ok in summer but means walking back along dark roads if visiting later in Year

Review 10:Quiet, relaxing location a few minutes drive from old walled town of Marvao. Nice small restaurant nearby. Good pool and facilities. Great breakfast. Superb value.
Review 11:Amenities and furniture are quite dated. Pillows were extremely flat. No fans or A/C. Property needs a sign; it was difficult to locate.
Review 12:Very friendly owner/operator.
Review 13:Easy to miss late at night
Review 14:We loved the quite location. The staff were very helpful, even waited up for us to arrive around 11.30 pm. Breakfast was fantastic. Loved the late check out.

Review 16:Small sign on the wall - drive slowly on the road from Castelo de Vide to Portagem or you miss a great location...
Review 17:Excellent location to explore the Marvao area, we had nice spacious rooms - something really different from standardized city hotels. Good breakfast with fresh orange juice.

Review 35:We spent three marveleous days in this beautiful quinta. Our room, overlooking the park was spatious and nicely airy. What a great place to have a picknick under the nuttrees and having a dive in the clean pool. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal and all the personnel were extremely friendly
Review 36:The hotel is locate on an old farm and even though it rained nonstopduring our visit we could see the area is very beautiful. The breakfastis one of the best I've had traveling and the host is very inviting.I would recommend this place for someone wanting to explore Marvaoduring the day and have a quiet place to stay at night.
Review 37:Overall everything was ok.
Review 38:Lovely Part of the world .Hotel is excellently located between Marvao and Castelo de Vide .On the Whole accomodation was good staff helpful.Unspoilt area
Review 39:We were disappointed about hearing that our kids sholdn't make to muchnoise in the swimming pool, and later on finding our neighbours, together with the owners, making noise at 01.00pmThere is a certain smell in the house that is not comfortable. Perhaps allowing all the windows to open regularly would be better.
Review 40:The domain is fantastic.
Review 41:The Quinta was hard to find: the gps pointed towards a little hamlet and there we got lost. There are no signs to indicate it. The decoration of the rooms is a bit oldfashioned. There's no airco but the night air was cool enough.
Review 42:Big estate with swimming pool. The clean and spacious rooms are located in a low building behind the main house and come with a little kitchen and refrigerator. Great breakfast.
Review 43:We stayed at Quinta Curral da Nora for 3 days.If you intend to visit Marvão, Portalegre and Castelo de Vide using this as your base camp, you have similar facilities at Castelo de Vide, for almost half the price. Smell at installations is not good (humidity, I guess). No air conditioning at rooms and as is just beside road, noise is a problem on summer nigths if you sleep with window opened (problematic on some rooms). Swimming pool area needs to be refurbished (no shower, furniture very old,.sun protection almost falling,...
Review 44:Between Marvão (5 Km) and Castelo de Vide (5 Km) villages, it is a good option to visit Marvão and Castelo de Vide.Free wifi Internet at common area (only in some rooms, also). Not really an hotel but a big country house with a big gardened area.
Review 45:The grounds were spectacular. Wonderful place for children to run and beoutdoors. The swimming pool was lovely and private. In addition they hadfooz ball table, a pool table, an outdoor ping-pong table and pin ballmachines for relaxation. The owner went out of her way to make uscomfortable and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel was close to Marvao castle and town which was a great day trip.
Review 46:Subtle luxury, yet tolerant atmosphere towards children and places for them to play. Perfect English of the staff, that was not common in Portugal. Great place to start a lot of actifities as surroundings are rich in opportunities.
Review 47:The Owner (Veronique) and her staff are extremely friendly and personal. She shared stories from her life growing up and her family. She was very accommodating and welcoming. The Bed and Breakfast is very comfortable and feels like home. The location is very pretty and accessible to many of the attractions in the area. We were travelling on a study abroad from the US during the winter break. One of the students had a birthday that coincided with the day of our stay. The owner gave him a surprise birthday party at breakfast. She went on her own and bought a cake to celebrate the student’s birthday. Her thoughtfulness was very touching and the student was very excited. We look forward to staying in this hotel next year if our travel route takes us towards Marvao and Castelo de Vide.
Review 48:Easy to find. Great character. Good breakfast. Just visited for an overnight but has good grounds for a longer stay.
Review 49:Authentic place in a wonderful surrounding
Review 50:Nice hostess and personal. Good breakfast. A big park with a nice swimmingpool. Near to Marvao and Castel de Vide.
Review 51:very friendly, relaxing place to be
