Reviews for Hotel San Jorge

Review 1:I didn't like the fact that there was no wdh rags only towels but on second thought for health reasons maybe that's safe. Still it would be helpful if the clients are Informed upon arrival.

Review 2:I really enjoyed the personality of the older gentleman (staff) he went over and beyond the call of duty. The other staff were helpful too. I adored that they spoke English too. Thumbs up.

Review 3:The staff was very amicable and responsive to any needs we had. I really dug the location and vibe of the hotel. Lastly, I enjoyed the accompanying restaraunt attached to the hotel.

Review 4:First off Ernesto at the front desk was very helpful in giving us places to eat and see. But thats where it ends. The room was the size of a dormitory closet. I don't know how people stay here for more than one night. Didn't like the roaches either.

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:The area. It was the worst neighborhood I've seen in year. I would never be caught there again. There was no reason I should have been so afraid.

Review 7:The elevator seemed to malfunction at times and I only found stairs that took me from 4 yo 2 floor,so I still had yo go back up and try the elevator,it worked then.the tv in my room didnt show....no signal only

Review 8:The location, walking distance from pavia hospitals.quiet and clean

Review 9:Nothing to complain

Review 10:The location was convenient and staff was extremely helpful with their tips and information as well as help with printing documents and so on. We slept very well, it was quiet and comfortable.

Review 11:Though room appeared clean, it was obvious bed linen was not changed from previous guest as strands of hair were seen on pillow. In addition tiny cockroaches were seen crawling on walls.

Review 12:Location of hotel in close in close proximity to metro. The helpfulness of staff for early wake up and summoning of cab.

Review 13:The beds were very uncomfortable and we experienced some very unwelcomed crawling pests. I wished that the outdoor smoking area (We don't smoke) was screened in and had a view. The mosquitoes were bad and since the rooms are so small it would be nice to sit out some.

Review 14:Very close to public transportation and was able to visit Old San Juan, Isle Verde, Pionnes (may have spelled this wrong), Coronado. Raul, Romone and the brown eyed guy where great in giving us directions and suggestions on places to visit and eat. Both women there were kind of unapproachable after first speaking to them. Raul was very accommodating, I had both medical and some other special needs that were taken care of immediately. Our room was very clean.

Review 15:I am solo traveler, just need a place to rest and clean. Upon arrival door was locked, doesn't feel secure around the neighborhood. My room was at the end corridor above very loud bar downstairs, i ask to be moved to another room, which is smaller and the AC is above bed head, so how can you sleep if a portable AC buzzing the whole night.

Review 16:Parking was easy on street. Location was easy to get around since i have a rental car

Review 17:It was a good experience for me! It was my first time to the Hotel San Jorge, Good and Comfortable. I would like stay there when I will trip to PR. Thank You

Review 18:Slow response to complaints about non-working phone in the room. WIFI service slow and was disrupted for a whole day. Coffee in the morning can wake you up but in a bad mood!

Review 19:Clean, quiet, comfortable. Good location but parking only on street. Price moderate, but not the best,

Review 20:The first night I had to be moved at 1.30 am because the bar outside noise and music were loud...and closing time 4.am. They moved me to a room that was quiet..which I appreciated. However the bathroom had a steep step to get in..I was afraid I was going to fall if I didn't remember that feature in the middle of the night. It fell like I was sleeping in a shoe box. ..I checked out the next day...from a 10 day initial booking.

Review 21:Nothing. .other than the woman of front desk manager. Night staff lack social skills.

Review 22:The staff and visitors are very friendly and it is close to my Drs.

Review 23:I had ants in my room. To stay there you should rent a car.

Review 24:The staff was very helpful and nice. No problems to change to a better room.

Review 25:Excellent location. Nice basic clean room. Great value for the money. Take the bus to Old San Juan for .75 each way!!!!

Review 26:No parking

Review 33:Peaceful environment, the staffs are friendly and cooperative.

Review 34:Rooms need renovation

Review 36:location, cost, friendly staff, free coffee in lobby

Review 37:coffes only 9am

Review 40:Noisy air conditioning unit.

Review 41:Great location and friendly staff

Review 42:Need a second chair in the room

Review 43:On street parking.

Review 44:Great price, and location.

Review 45:small bed

Review 46:price and location

Review 47:there was no refrigerator in room to get a cold drink of water.

Review 48:Everything!

Review 49:An excellent hotel for the price. I was pleasantly surprised by how it was clean, safe and very modern in an old style way.

Review 50:I cant bring my opinion because the time is little bit.

Review 51:Cleanliness... staff organization Location

Review 52:Small rooms

Review 53:The location

Review 54:no microwave in the room.

Review 55:Secure, clean, awareness of people make me love the place and recommend it to any others people.

Review 56:There was no tea provided Every person DO NOT. Drink. coffee. Therefore provision should be made to accommodate other guest who fits into this category

Review 57:The staff was friendly and helpful

Review 58:Don't keep going past the LaCosana restaraunt at the bottom of the hill...turns into the ghetto the further you go. The areas safe but stay close or in the artsy areas

Review 59:Really nice rooms(205) Walk back towards the airport about 4 blocks to where theres a big parking lot with an astrounat graffiti..Check out the guy that lives above the LaPalma store..great guy..420 friendly. He has glasses..from NY..tell him Tim sent you

Review 60:- Really hard bed - "Loud" bed ;-) - Staff advised us to park in a "no parking area" because the hotel doesn't own a parking. At least we never saw a car with a ticket.

Review 61:+ Quiet air conditioner + Nice staff

Review 62:Would prefer check out to be later than 11am.

Review 63:Unofficial free parking in front; clean and spacious rooms; AC working perfectly; comfortable mattress; good water pressure in shower

Review 64:It would have been really nice to have had someone who could have advised me about the bus since you are away from the beach. Also, info/directions about the surrounding cultural arts venues, restaurants etc. The lady at the desk was not helpful at all except for info on your cafe on the corner. I think she just didnt want to be bothered.

Review 65:Really enjoyed the accomodations. The hotel is lovely, quiet, clean and comfortable. Beautifully decorated lobby and patio! Great job for budget hotel.

Review 66:This hotel is not in one of the main tourist areas or walking distance to the beach, but if you don't mind taking the bus, Condado and Old San Juan are easily accessible.

Review 67:This was a fantastic budget option. The staff was very helpful, the room small but very clean and comfortable. It is on some main bus routes that will take you to Old San Juan, Condado and Isla Verde, and it's walking distance to the Tren Urbano, which can take you to Plaza Las Americas. I recently stayed at a "budget" place in Condado that was not as comfortable and paid $30/night more than at Hotel San Jorge.

Review 68:I think you should think on put in a fridge in the room because some people like to buy thing and place in the fridge so they don't have keep going to the store all the time.

Review 69:no washcloth, no hair dryer, no hangers, no iron, no desk in the room, not enough towels, no drinking water, no ice ( you have to go through the back door), street parking, no breakfast, they use key instead of magnetic card. windows and hall way too small, definitely does not worth $75/night. $55-$60 could be reasonable.

Review 70:clean facility, clean room, helpful staff, housekeeping everyday, bilingual staff, quiet place, security system to let you in, close to restaurants, churches, bus stop, etc...24 hrs front desk personal,

Review 71:I didn't like nothing room was full of roaches the smell of weed was crazy I didn't come back and employees didn't know what to do is was a horrible experience I'll won't even recommend the roaches I saw to stay there

Review 72:Nothing I had a problem there could not fix it because the manager was sleeping and didn't want to be bothered

Review 73:the bed was so hard i was in pain every single night i was there i dreaded sleeping because of that. And they could have a few more electrical outlets.

Review 74:i loved the staff they were nice and welcoming and warm. also its a bargain hotel i dont expect a whole lot and for what i paid it was fine

Review 75:I chose to stay an extra day in san juan and the hotel stayed in first almost doubled the price for that one night so I found this hotel. And let me tell you I should have just stayed at my first hotel. I did not like the area that the hotel was in. It wasn't much of a tourists area. Our room was incredibly tiny almost like a prison cell. We had one bed to share between my daughter and myself. The sound on our tv did not work. The room was just cramped and it made me want to just leave san juan sooner. I this place is meant for someone that just wants somewhere ti sleep and does not plan to be in their room much. Relaxation is not what your going to find at this hotel.

Review 76:It was a place to sleep

Review 77:The only bad thing about this place is that it is not located on the beach, but if that is what you are looking for then be prepared to spend more money.

Review 78:The staff was very helpful. Our room was clean and the air conditioning unit worked well. Our sheets and towels were changed everyday.

Review 79:if your here to sleep and go, perfect. nothing did not like it, if you need to go on the cheap then guests should not not complain about having to go outside of santurce for fun. the hotel provides a safe, clean, comfy environment to get some rest.

Review 80:clean, friendly, a good place to sleep for cheap. this is not an area to go have fun.

Review 81:I would have liked to have a chair, a larger table and a few more hangers. I was also bitten by some insects.

Review 82:It met my 2 basic requirements : a good shower and a good bed.

Review 83:I am not picky like americans if u just want to sleep in safe go to this hotel . Clean hotwater wifi is excellent. In front of hotel take m3 bus to go old san juan , nice staff. If you will cry for tv channels pay $200 more per night and stay in marriott

Review 84:The neighborhood was kind of bad but okay too. The room had a mold smell that was extremely bad I think it was the furniture so old. I did get sick real bad from the smell.

Review 85:I like the way the staff was ready to help you at anytime. Easy access to catch buses etc. The staff had guides read for you.

Review 86:Nothing really. I think people complaining about this hotel are being abit picky.

Review 87:The staff was the best, very helpful and kind. The place was clean overall. I would stay there again for sure. For the price it was a greatdeal. Took the bus, less than one block away for 75cents, to Old SanJuan and the beach.

Review 88:None

Review 89:The staff was very attentive and friendly. The location of the hotel is near the beach, it is near the central station where one can easily take trips outside the city; it is right across the bus stop where one can take a guagua to the city center. There are quite a few places to eat nearby. So the location is fantastic. The hotel has internet and other facilities such as good air conditioning etc. It is my third visit to Puerto Rico and I have always chosen this hotel. I plan to choose this hotel in the future as it is also budget-friendly compared to others. I am definitely a satisfied customer.

Review 90:There is a lot of noise after 12am and around 5am in the terrace ofthe Hotel.A water fountain is also necessary. There are some grammar mistakes in some of the labels like "minuts" instead or "minutes" that has to be fixed. There is also sometimes a bad smell coming from outside in the 208 room.

Review 91:The tv is good and the room is also ok for the price. The staff ispretty helpful.

Review 92:The mattress was a bit stiff.

Review 93:Having stayed in different Hotels for a few straight days, Hotel SanJorge stood out as an excellent value for the money. The Hotel is wasexceptionally clean and accommodating. The best part of the experiencewas the impecable treatment by the hotel staff.

Review 94:I like the friendly staff and I was immediately taken care of when I arrived under the circumstances of my travel. The place was well kept and clean. I really like staying there. Oh...also Plaza Las Americas was nearby!

Review 95:I didn't realize what no frills ment when I made the reservation, soI was expecting to have shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. Ididn't feel $2 was a good enough deal for the small travel bottlesfor the 3 nights we were staying.

Review 96:I like that we did not have to worry about our room keys, We justhanded them into the front desk every time we left our room. I alsoreally enjoyed the garden that was on the 2nd floor, it was veryrelaxing to sit up there and enjoy the nice weather. The staff was alsovery friendly.

Review 97:Noise early in the morning due to constructions issues. I guess.

Review 98:Very clean hotel, friendly staff and convenient location, near to Ponce de leon Ave, few steps of restaurant and places for shopping. Few minutes from SJU International Airport.

Review 99:The only complaints I may have is that the remote control for our roomto turn the channels on the cable receiver was missing; however, as soonas it was brought to the attention of the front desk staff, we weregiven a controller that worked perfectly.

Review 100:The staff at San Jorge were amazing. When we arrived early following acruise and every effort was made to get us into our room ahead of the2pm check in time. The manager at the front desk assisted us in catchingthe bus into Old San Juan. The next morning, staff called a taxi for usto get to the airport. The room was small, but it had everything weneeded and was clean. Our room had an individual air conditioner, whichwas great. It was in a great location. The bus stop was right across thestreet and we felt very comfortable coming and going the night we werethere. There was a computer in the lobby that we used to check emails, verify flight details, etc. If you're looking for a 5 star resort, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a great budget-friendly hotelthat is clean, this is the place for you.

Review 101:There were always small bugs flying around and on the floor and there were always construction noises next to my room.

Review 102:It was cheap and the front desk staff were always super friendly.

Review 103:We never saw bugs, the place was very clean. Maid service daily, comfy bed and they provided a brand new baby bed for us! All of the workers spoke good English and were helpful at giving directions, etc

Review 104:It's not near the beach. That's really the only down side. It's great for a single guy on a trip to have fun.

Review 105:I liked Carla and Ms. Cristina. They were on the staff and they were very friendly and helpful. I liked the cleanliness and the organization of the place. I really liked Carla. Hola Carla!!

Review 106:The elevator does not work properly. The door closes on you while youare trying to get in. Coffee was only available until 7 A.M.. Therestaurant advertised did not have any food during our visit.

Review 107:The hotel was conveniently situated near the bus line. The room wassmall but clean and was made every day. You had access to a computer inthe lobby. I liked the key drop-off policy.

Review 108:That it does not have a parking lot, but there is a city policeman nearand a security guard near by.

Review 109:It is close to the main areas of San Juan. The staff are very friendlyand helpful. The rooms are very clean and with room enough.

Review 110:Room had a strong smell; no windows except for slats in bathroom; peeling paint and holes in the walls; narrow hallways and cheap doors; weak wifi in upper floors; unreliable street parking.

Review 111:Flat screen TV; wifi worked in lower levels; reasonably central location,

Review 112:Small bed and room. Microscopic window. Somewhat difficult access to the old town.

Review 113:Somewhat close to downtown (requires a 30 min bus hike) Room was clean but basic with small bed. Decent option for the price - also rooms were available when everything else is town was booked.

Review 114:1) Roaches 2) Double bed standard room is tiny. Just the size of a small bedroom. King bed size room is a better value.

Review 115:1) Rooms relatively clean and modern for the price 2) Bathrooms and showers are modern and large for the price. 3) Some front desk personnel friendly and helpful with bus directions and taxis. 4) Good location for bus access to condado and isla verde with one transfer, and to old san juan and plazas las americas with no transfer.

Review 116:The staff was great!

Review 117:The staff was very helpful and accommodating. It is located near the bus stops and small restaurants. nice on call taxi service.

Review 118:Shipp and all is great

Review 119:Only one chair in room

Review 120:Friendly, helpful staff. Value.

Review 121:very small rooms

Review 122:fair for the price

Review 123:Friendly, helpful staff. Close to airport, Libros books and cafe, 15 min walk to beach

Review 124:No Breakfast options - only coffee and vending machine

Review 125:Good price deal for same day booking (50% of price displayed in room)
