Reviews for Harraseeket Inn

Review 1:The Inn has a 2-tiered billing system. If you book through them, breakfast and afternoon tea are included. If you book through a third party, they aren't, and once you've paid extra for them, the price is the same as booking directly.

Review 2:Very comfortable, elegant place to stay. Our stay was on Christmas eve, and the next morning all the guests found little stockings on their door handles -- a nice touch. The food is very good.

Review 3:No scenic view.

Review 4:This is the 3rd year in a row my girlfriends and I have stayed with you and we love it! We're always pleased with the staff, the fire pit, the accommodations, the amenities and dining and look forward to our return again next year!! ?

Review 5:wait staff in bar restaurant not very attentive and surly - hostess in dining room outright rude and dismissive. We were 3 staying in the hotel for the weekend - coming back from a funeral and arrived at the main dining room at 5:45 for dinner and drinks. We were told "no way". That's right, she said 'no way' would we get a table without a reservation. Keep in mind the entire dining room was at that time COMPLETELY EMPTY. When we asked her again if we could eat now - early - before the crowd her response was "NOPE". that's right - "NOPE". No attempt to help us at all. We then asked for recommendations outside the hotel and she said "you'll never get seated anywhere tonight". Will think twice about another visit here.

Review 6:rooms beautiful - beds comfortable

Review 7:The staff were helpful and caring, as we traveled with a parent who has Alzheimer's disease. As guest we could call to the restaurant downstairs and could get a call to our room when our table was ready. For those who may not understand, this was a blessing in keeping a loved one with cognitive impairment happy and comfortable. It's little things like this and at least a dozen more why I will plan to return someday.

Review 8:We put an FYI to the staff when booking that we were on our honeymoon but noone said congrats. The floor in the room carpet need to be updated. Also breakfast wasn't included. There was a paper in our room that said coffee was available until 10:30 but they actually closed it at 10am so we missed it since we went at 10:15, a woman did fetch us a cup though.

Review 9:Location

Review 10:Nothing at all bad to report.

Review 11:I had stayed at this Inn before and I think it is just the perfect location, in walking distance of the shopping area, and the restaurant is just great. Also, we went out to the pier every day for lunch, just can't get enough of those Lobster rolls.

Review 12:Their afternoon tea was seriously off it's game. I've stayed at the Harraseeket before, and had a better experience. There was lots of food and tea... because there were no cups or plates. A guest ended up having to go into the kitchen to ask for some, and the response "I'll get somebody to bring some out" was the wrong attitude, it made it sound like fixing a problem was beneath them. Which apparently it was, since they barely brought anything out.. just some cups, no plates of anything for food. There were dirty dishes scattered around the tea room as nobody was bothering to routinely gather them up The sub-par attitude seemed to be prevalent in the food staff, the hostess for the nearby restaurant entrance was no better. It's a shame really, those were my first impressions on getting there, to a hotel which otherwise I really enjoy. For families with kids loaded down with gadgets, sorry, the wifi is still absolutely terrible. It was terrible the last time I stayed, it is no better now. Given the overall poor data reception in that region, you'll probably need to make good use of the McDonald's across the street if you need to get online.

Review 13:Front desk staff are very helpful, the place is clean, quiet, and very convenient.

Review 14:When booking through AAA On-line, that process excluded us from Breakfast being included.

Review 15:Staff was wonderful. Made Restaurant reservations for us. Gave us candy in the hallway. Parking is great.

Review 16:Apparently I used the wrong web site to make my reservation & as a result the breakfast was not included in my rate of $282.

Review 17:Dining in the in the main dining room was a nice experience.

Review 18:The hotel is way overpriced for what you get. Charging extra for breakfast is ridiculous, considering the high price of a very modest room.

Review 19:We liked the location. Walking distance to the concert. We also liked the tavern.

Review 20:Facility is authentic and interesting. Shower in the room is cheap and small. Amenities on the room for the price we paid is disappointing. Dinner in the main dinning is excellent.

Review 21:A little drama from a staff member re: obtaining a AAA discount despite using Booking. Bed was a bit soft. Sound-proofing could be better. Pool area needs an update.

Review 22:Traditional charm, tasteful and clean room, spacious bathroom, walking distance to Freeport shopping, staff mostly great.

Review 23:Been staying here for 10+ years and while service is always great, there was something "extra" nice this time around. The people that work here truly love what they do and are willing to go the extra mile for their guests.

Review 24:Dining room staff didn't seem very cordial. dinner prices were a little high for the portion and not a very large selection but the food was excellent.

Review 25:Nice atmosphere. Traveling with my older daughter and she liked the pool.

Review 26:The pool was just ok this time around as the temperature wasn't as warm as past visits which we always look forward to because the children want to play in the water for hours on end.

Review 27:We like the Harraseekit because the staff goes out of their way to make the visit great and memorable. They make it easy to never have to leave the premises on a cold windy day.

Review 28:Bathroom doesn't have enough shelf space for holding curling irons, etc. But we managed.

Review 29:Loved the breakfast, the service, the people and the tea at 3:30pm.

Review 30:The only downside, and it wasn't especially bothersome to us, was having our room (207) near some sort of ventilation system. The humming was occasional and caused us no issue with sleep, but we were aware of it.

Review 31:We were there on Christmas Day, and the inn was beautifully decorated and so festive! Being able to enjoy afternoon tea, dinner at the Tavern, and a full morning breakfast all in one place worked so well for us. And we enjoyed the swimming pool entirely to ourselves! The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout. Our son enjoyed our stay so much, he didn't want to leave!

Review 32:The tavern meal i got (spinach salad with salmon) was not great but the atmosphere and service were wonderful.

Review 33:The staff was very pleasant and the room, lovely

Review 34:Beds are a bit soft Would have liked a bigger TV in the Tavern to watch the football game...

Review 35:Loved the location! Easily accessible to downtown Freeport. Also loved afternoon tea and breakfast buffet. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and accomodating

Review 36:Room was on 1st floor opposite tavern. Didn't sleep due to heating unit outside our room in courtyard. It hummed all night keeping both my husband and I awake. We returned to our room 10 min. After checkout and were locked out. Everything was brought to the staffs attention, but nothing was done. We felt we should have been compensated a little, as we have been frequent guests.

Review 37:The bathroom floor was somewhat dirty and the tub was slimey/oily. Some foods on the brunch table have practically no taste/flavor(i.e.. Stevia Blueberry bread.) Wished we had a small usable table in the room. The fitness room is not inviting or conducive to a good workout.

Review 38:We loved the room...very cozy, nicely decorated and comfortable. Like the tv mounted on the wall for all to see. It was nice to have a refrigerator for our snacks we brought. Stayed Sunday through Tuesday and it wasn't as crowded and a much better value for your money. Having brunch included is great!

Review 39:Nothing I didn't like..all good!!

Review 40:The afternoon tea, buffet breakfast and the Broad Arrow Tavern were top notch! Our waitress at the tavern was excellent!! Accommodations in the room were superior and I loved the exercise room and pool!!

Review 41:Wish they had a tea maker in room so you're not restricted to hot tea in the one hour if the afternoon.

Review 42:Loved the Broad Arrow Inn. Dinner and ambiance was great. The buffet breakfast and resplendent and delicious. Afternoon tea was added bonus we looked forward to. Room was large and accommodating.

Review 43:The service is excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Dinner at the Broad Arrow Tavern was wonderful. Lovely firepit outside; great place to relax and meet other guests.

Review 44:Can't think of anything

Review 45:I liked everything about our stay. The facility and staff were truly remarkable. We ordered a few things from the front desk and they were delivered in quick and friendly order. We were very impressed with everything Look forward to our next visit

Review 46:We have been staying for the past 11 years for our Anniversary. There was a lovely fruit and cheese plate waiting for us in our room. It was great to see familiar faces such as Penny and Celeste. We love the smell of the autumn fire, the friendliness of the staff and how they manage to update the hotel and property without changing it.

Review 47:I had a truly great weekend and have no complaints.

Review 48:The Staff, Breakfast and Tea come with your stay at no added charge. Restaurants, especially The Broad Arrow, Garden behind the Inn, Ability to walk to the nearby shops and the close proximity to LLBean. I was very pleased with my accommodations and a feeling of being right at home and welcomed by the staff. What a beautiful spot to stay and I have plans to return next year same time same place.

Review 49:We came to the inn for, some personal peace and renewal. My husband has been diagnosed with cancer and the Inn fulfilled all of our needs. The staff are wonderful and food marvelous and the beds so comfortable. We are planning to return at the end of his treatments

Review 50:The hotel gave me the name of a taxi service which was excellent. The ride to the reception in Yarmouth and back to the hotel was about 20 minutes so we were happy that we were able to arrange AB taxi (Dan was great). The shops were two blocks from the hotel. We loved shopping at LL Bean. Thank you for a great experience! Theresa and Jack from Boston!

Review 51:None: we stayed only for one night... if you can stay here 2,3 nights.

Review 52:Location to shops Room: clean, cozy, comfy sleep Facilities: fireplace, comfy chairs everywhere. Pool & Gym: nice and clean Breakfast: selection of hot and cold food, fresh oj. Restaurant: went to the Tavern, great meals

Review 53:We stayed in the bridal suite. There was nothing special about it other than a picture of a bride. The decor is dated as was the carpet and couch in the elevator lobby. The water pressure in the shower was a mere trickle, so using the tub was out.

Review 54:The location and staff are excellent, as well as the included breakfast.

Review 55:The beds were too short for a 6 ft male and not particularly comfortable at that. The smoke alarm began "chirping" about 5:30 am and continued until afternoon. (Supposedly a technician was going to correct the problem very shortly but apparently had to be called in from Portland probably.)

Review 56:Excellent location within easy walking to LL Bean and other shops.

Review 57:Complexity of getting to our room (2nd floor). Vibrating noise which occurred, we think from above us, as we were trying to get to sleep

Review 58:Service was excellent! Rooms were comfortable and clean.

Review 59:A truly superb New England inn. Every detail was virtually perfect. Can't wait for an excuse to pass through Freeport again and stay there. Great staff. Great afternoon tea and breakfast. Great room. Great restaurant(s). The owners should give seminars on how to do this thing.

Review 60:We liked that breakfast & afternoon tea were included each day. We also liked to have the sheets turned down each evening & the chocolate starfish! We liked the soft sheets & that the room was clean! Thank you!

Review 61:Perfect spot to rest before and after dropping kids at camp. We loved the convenience of the stores and there were some terrific places to eat. Was great. Loved having a glass of wine outside on patio.

Review 62:Friendly staff and excellent customer service!

Review 63:The friendliness of all staff we met and the warmth of the atmosphere. Food was delicious and plentiful.

Review 64:Staff were friendly and we loved sitting around the fire pit at night.

Review 65:Staff goes out of their way to make your stay very compfortable

Review 66:We love Freeport and the Inn is in a perfect location. Tea in the afternoon is enjoyable.

Review 67:No bad experiences at all. Stay was too short.

Review 68:I liked the upgrade to a hot tub room.

Review 69:Coffee. It might sound picayune but the coffee always had a stale "hour in the pot" taste.

Review 70:Staff, IE: friendly, made you feel home.

Review 71:Great location & historic setting.

Review 72:Loved it...planning on going back next year and staying at the same place

Review 73:The staff treated us like family and the food was excellent. Great place to stay. Lovely fireplaces and beautiful landscaping.

Review 74:Leaving.

Review 75:Pleasant comfortable environment, home feeling. Casual luxury, Staff wonderful!

Review 76:The room was on the older side.

Review 77:The location is very near all of the shopping in Freeport. Plus both restaurants are very good.

Review 78:Beautiful inn. Very quiet. Enjoyed the tavern and patio. Great service.

Review 79:We were disappointed that we did not get breakfest and tea with our room. Only, if we paid for it.

Review 80:It was so so clean and that is very important to us. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The location cannot be beat.

Review 81:For the price a continental breakfast should be provided

Review 82:Location, quaintness, area, friendliness of staff
