Review 2：Excellent/friendly manager and staff, very comfortable bed, very clean, wonderful views of bay from our balcony, nice breakfast, lovely fish restaurant next door. We have visited Oman about 7-8 times now - and no visit is complete without a visit to Sur and a stay at this lovely hotel.

Review 3：Upon our arrival they gave us very bad room with a smelling toilet. Then they changed us to another room after insisting on them. There are no cups, tea, water jug, knife, spoon in the room.

Review 11：We stayed for 2 nights and lift our toothpaste in the bathroom after the first night. Our toothpaste disappeared from the bathroom. When we came back at night and did not find the toothpaste, we called the reception and reported the matter. They found our toothpaste from Housekeeping and returned back. This was very strange and unprofessional from the housekeeping team. our luggage was still in the room but only the toothpaste disappeared.

Review 12：Friendly staff and the owner. Location was very nice. The owner has breakfast at the hotel and chats with the guests and gives advise on where to go and what to do.

Review 14：Not sure why is this marked as a two-star, this hotel is actually better than most of three-star ones I stayed in. Rooms are large enough, clean and quiet, stuff speaks excellent English, credit cards are accepted. Just cannot think of anything negative about the place. Great place to stay if visiting Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve; Al Ayjah Plaza Hotel is located a bit away from Sur city center, so you don't have to spend time in traffic jams when going to turtle beach and back -- driving time from the hotel is around 30 minutes.

Review 21：Nice hotel at a good location. Check-in went really smooth. Room is lovely.. fridge, wi-fi and airco works perfect. The bed is not that comfy though.. very hard mattress. We asked for a softer matrress and they put a thin mattress on top of the other. Didn't really made a difference, but they really did their best ;-) Breakfast is nice.. enough choices and everything is delicious. The staff overall is friendl.., but it's mostly fake smiles and when you ask something they seem exhausted and annoyed just thinking about doing it. The restaurant closed both days already around 3 in the afternoon and had no roomservice anymore like mentioned on Booking.com. We had to order food at the restaurant next door and that was absolutely fabulous!!! Sooo delicous :-))) A must!! We met some people in the hotel and they were all complaining about the fact that the hotel doesn't offer dinner or roomservice after a certain time in the afternoon. All in all I would still recommend this hotel. It's nice, but not great ;-)

Review 25：Very professional, friendly and accommodating staff. Highlight of our mornings during our 3 day-stay was the excellent excellent breakfast! Location was great, were given a room with a nice view of the beach. Highly recommend the restaurant next door for a nice dinner al fresco:-) Turkish-arabic cuisine served: fresh and very tasty products. The owner Khalid would have his breakfast every morning in the breakfast room and would stop for a quick chat with the people present. Highly recommend this hotel for the quality of service, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff:-)

Review 28：Breakfast was a complete failure. A tiny makeshift "restaurant" by the reception couldn`t accommodate all the guests and we had to wait in the hall for a vacant table. In the meantime some guests jumped queue, which got us really edgy. There was hardly any choice for breakfast. Just fried eggs and small sausages and some disgusting darkish hot drink (it felt like one teaspoonful of instant coffee per coffee jug) which was just undrinkable..

We appreciate the fact that it was freshly made but we would expect to be warned in advance on the longer waiting. Because there were other people, ordering something else and they were in and out in half as much time. The problem was mostly because we were super hungry. But it was overall a pleasant evening. We were on a vacation after all :)

Review 42：The staff here is very kind. They have patiently explained everything we wanted to know and helped us. We stayed only one night as a bit of a stop-over from Muscat to Nizwa but it was worth it. We enjoyed some time on the beach, had a dinner on the lovely terrace of their hotel and just rested. The room we had was comfortable and neat.

Review 43：Personell wasn't friendly. The worst thing happened was that our room couldn't be locked. All of our stuff was accessible for every guest. The price is way to high for the quality of service and comfort!

Review 50：My husband and I were quite surprised by our experience here. We had not expected much as it was so inexpensive. The spacious rooms are very plain and basic, but we got great value here. The staff is very nice and goes out of their way to make sure everything is ok. The food they prepared for us specially was excellent; the breakfast was basic. At first we had internet problems but that was quickly solved by the night manager recycling the box and we had great service after that. We were able to order a late dinner and the food was very good. Our room was spacious with lots of wardrobe space. The bed was firm and comfortable. The interior is nicely decorated. Breakfast was basic but very good and they will also make eggs to order. While this may seem like a no frills place because of the price it has all the amenities one can ask for and such nice people working here. We would definitely come back.

Review 60：New hotel with big and clean rooms and balcony (unusual in Oman), friendly staff. Breakfast outside on terrace. Very good position of the hotel, there is a short walking path just behind to a fantastic viewpoint over Sur, the sea and the dhow-factory. WIFI not tested, I prefer a local SIM-card. It´s "free" and with broadband package, GPS and maps it´s so easy to navigate in Oman.

Review 61：The evening restaurant service was woefully slow, but the food was good in the end. Wifi was not available the night we stayed. Lighting was inadequate for the size of the room and another power point would have been welcome.

Review 70：I booked this hotel quickly based on limited availability in Sur due to the Eid holiday. Then I read some reviews and thought maybe I'd made a mistake. Upon checking in, I couldn't believe my luck. My corner room was huge, with a beautiful bay view and lots of light. The AC was strong, the breakfast was generous, and the staff was friendly and professional. I know it's hard to please everyone, but the negative reviews on this place seem way overdone. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
