Reviews for Hotel Porto Santo & Spa
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:A charming hotel. Fabulous modernist design in the public areas. Helpful staff who were always cheerful. The location couldn't be better.
Review 3:Bathroom and furniture in the rooms need a little facelift. They are a bid worn out.
Review 4:Very friendly staff, super location on the beach, good bed and good food.
Review 5:checking out
Review 6:Beachside position and relaxed atmosphere
Review 7:rooms a bit old for 4* Hotel
Review 8:Location, Beach, quiet area / island
Review 9:The room shows signs of an aging hotel, particularly small tv (if that's relevant for you), Some of the pictures you see on the page are from the spa, so you don't get an accurate idea of the space and atmosphere if you're only using the hotel area.
Review 10:All the common areas (pool, breakfast, beach bar, garden, etc) were lovely, spacious, calm and very well kept. The hotel sits perfectly by the beach, a walk away from the city center and nearby beach bars, not too close and not too far to walk. Rooms with a good/big balcony. The staff was as helpful and friendly as you get, giving you the feeling of coziness.
Review 11:Parts needed updating eg patio furniture well worn. Some food prices eh buffet dinner in peak season expensive as was the food in the beach bar
Review 12:Excellent location, Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable drink prices. Mainly very good foodbut see comment re buffet dinner..
Review 13:Hard bread of the breakfast Oil on bacon and eggs of the breakfast Very poor wi-fi connection in common areas No wi-fi at the room Lack of island activities information at the room
Review 14:Proximity to the beach Beach bar Terrace for breakfast 80's style Calm environment Near village centre
Review 15:The internet (only in common areas) was very lousy...Some investment is needed in order to provide modern facilities like wifi internet in rooms and decent flat screens for TV (replacing the old small ones)
Review 16:The hotel is located just on the beach in a large shady tropical garden. The architecture is rather simple and attractive.Very beautiful common areas: restaurant and bar have a large terrace with unforgettable garden and sea view! No TV screens in common areas. 20 minutes walk to the town.
Review 17:All in all the service and everything else was lacklustre for a 4 star hotel. Ample, but disspointing breakfast buffet. The TV in the room was miniature and had bad reception, if that is important for you. At this point in time I would rate the hotel 3 stars but the location 5, so it evens out. The room rate is normal for the island, but a bit high for what you get here.
Review 18:The location on what is surely one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is fabulous. The beach bar is the perfect place to hang before and after extended beach walks. 15 min. beachwalk to the small town, but there are some good shops and a good market for getting beach picnic supplies. The hotel is architecturally pleasing and everything is very clean, but it will need refurbishing soon. The evening service in the restaurant was caring and friendly. A great place for R&R (at least in off-season).
Review 19:Evening meal was uninspiring - and meat "on de bone" was tough. It would have inspired us to get "on our bikes" if they had been (more obviously ?) available for hire, so enabling us to investigate the flatter parts (most) of this magic little island. Including town restaurantes.
Review 20:Location, only a half-hour walk from port & 15 mins from town, and adjacent to Porto Santo's lengthy golden beach is excellent, as was welcome from reception staff. Bedroom was furnished comfortably and general hotel facilities good.
Review 21:The spa isn't really part of the hotel. You have to pay extra evento use the swimming pool and sauna. The tennis courts are in dreadfulcondition -not useable. And we booked beacuse of the spa and tenniscourts! Fortunately the location right on the beach somewhat made up forthis, but the description is not accurate and could lead todisappointment. The rooms are very basic and more 'hostel' thanhotel. I don't know which star system they are using!!
Review 22:The location is amazing -right on the beach. The staff were friendlyand helpful
Review 23:Their food and drinks were good, but I expected more sophisticated offer.
Review 24:Probably it is one of the first hotels on the island which still reflects the architecture of the sixties, and it is renovated surprisingly well. Its new SPA building is one of the best examples of todays design but still it is in line with the rest of the hotel. They have direct access to the beach, the hotel is very close to the central village and the airport. Their staff was extremely friendly.
Review 25:I wish there were more hotel guests! While I was here, there were more staff than hotel guests. The hotel does need to improve on the WiFi connection. It is available only in a certain area of the hotel, and it haas to be re-set several times each day!
Review 26:This was an excellent escape from the louder and more congested Madeira Island. The hotel is very clean, the staff are very kind, and the food was great. I will recommend this hotel to my friends! I was treated very well here!
Review 27:the location is fantastic and the gardens beautiful. the hotel itself is spacious with a comfortable sitting room, dining-room, bar and terrace all with stunning views of the gardens and the sea. it is a pity that there seems to be a not very "hands on" management fails to keep the staff on their toes and a lackadaisical attitude
Review 28:The Buffet Breakfast was not worth, to mame it like this. White Rolls, butter, ham and cheese. No more else.
Review 29:the hotel is geared up for total relaxation and in A beautiful location
Review 30:Excellent location by a very good beach
Review 31:spa not included ( costs 25) and closed with timetable of working time
Review 32:garden
Review 33:The spa at the hotel offers a good range of services.
Review 34:spa and fitness is not free as metioned on the reservation. The rooms are old and not very confortable
Review 35:location
