Review 1：1. No in-room safe 2. 1970's decor 3. Dark public areas 4. Dining room staff unhelpful, unfriendly and unable to cope for both dinner & breakfast service. 5. Choice of dishes on dinner menu is very restricted and poorly prepared. 6. Paper-thin walls in bedrooms. Can hear every conversation, murmur, cough & sneeze in corridors and adjoining rooms. 7. Soap/shampoo dispensers and non-removable hangers are appropriate in a budget hotel, but are not suitable for a Best Western Plus property. 8. Altogether an extremely disappointing stay, at a relatively high room rate of $200 per night. Conclusion: After disappointing and costly experiences at the Best Western Plus Couchiching Inn & Suites in Orillia and the Best Western Fireside Inn in Kingston, I would not select Best Western properties for future travels.

Review 2：Front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful when checking in. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Lovely restaurant where we had a great dinner and breakfast was great in the morning. Staff here very friendly too.

Review 3：Booked because close access to Casino and u advertised a complimentary shuttle. When I arrived I found out the shuttle was not in sevice! I was not impressed with finding this out at my arrival instead of being told before hand! I booked 2 days before! I am also very outraged that i was then told to take a cab at my own expense!!!! The whole point was for the shuttle!! - Very upset guest!!

Review 5：The shuttle bus was broken down and we were not informed until we checked in. The person at the desk was going to charge me 10.00 more for a king room and then informed me the shuttle was broken down and a taxi would cost 20 each way. I was upset as the whole reason I booked here was to use the shuttle.

Review 7：The web site said the bus to Rama was complimentary. In the morning, when I received my bill (under the door) it had a charge of $14.00 for bus service. The bus was overloaded when we went to Rama and didn't show up on the way home. We had to take a cab back to the hotel at a cost of $24.00!

Review 8：The room was lovely. Very nice. Enjoyed the fireplace and whirlpool tub. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Review 9：I liked that the breakfast was a hot buffet but the eggs didn't seem to be real eggs and the hot water provided for the tea wasn't hot at all.

Review 15：I again wasn't happy with the Best Western, and i had even gone with the Plus hoping for better results. There was a mix up and someone was already checked into our room upon our arrival. Once it was finally figured out, we then had to wait for the room to be vacated and then cleaned. We had received many apologies, but nothing to compensate for our lost time and being second guessed on our reservation. I feel we were treated differently because we were a young couple and I felt we should have at least gotten the shuttle passes we had purchased right then and there in the middle of the confusion for a lower price or for free. We will probably try to avoid the Best Western the next time we're looking for a hotel just to save us from extra stress on our trips.

Review 16：Bit of a walk into town (30 mins or so). Breakfast wasn't great, plenty of selection but never seemed to be enough bacon.

Review 20：at the late evening the Jaccuzi was extremly dirty, gray water, lots of used towels on the floor !!!! the service while breakfast was very poor, only one young lady had to servs all for a fully booked hotel during previous long weekend, although she did all she could, all guests plate on hand, waited to be served for couple of minutes. also breakfast variety and quality was not at all satisfactory for such a price as well as the 4 stars on Hotel.

Review 24：The problem is not with the hotel. It is with Booking.com. I reserved a smoking room and when I checked in found out hotel is a non smoking property.I don't know if I will use Booking.com again.

Review 30：Overall our expectations were exceeded. There are usually a couple of things that are worthy of complaint or improvement but not this time. Everything worked well and we were quite comfortable from check-in to check-out.

The corridor and even into our room stank of smoke. This is unhealthy and unacceptable When we mentioned it to the desk clerk we were told we should have had a room on the other wing. Who knew? The owners need to smarten up on this issue

Review 46：Did not like that we had a late checkin booked for Oct 31st. arrived close to 10p. took almost 1hr for us to get into our room and settled we were sent all over the place then finally given right directions only to find that our keys did not work then had to go back to desk twice before we got assistance. It was cold and raining and having to go in and out around the ouside of the hotel did not make for a very pleasant start to a not so pleasant stay. I am also very disapointed that the rate I understood to be showing at $178.00 per night cdn. was not the rate I was charged. The room was definately not worth over $200.00 for a Friday and $198.00 for a Saturday which is what we paid. We were given a late checkout on Sunday which was appreciated as it had been a special request already mentioned in booking prior. I was very surprised to hear it would cost $30.00 which was very kindly waived as we did protest. Would not stay at hotel again for that outrageous price, it really is not worth it. Have stayed at many Best Westerns and find them very accomodating and clean and friendly. I did find this hotel clean but did not have atmosphere of most Best Westerns. Would not return.

Review 50：I booked a non-smoking room when I got in my room there was a strong smell of cigarettes. Called the front desk and asked if my room was near smoking rooms? Lady said that it was there was one on either side of the non smoking rooms that I was in.having a severe sensitivity to cigarette smoke I asked for a new room.without hesitation I was relocated to a new better room a buitifull upgrade for my inconvenience. You couldn't ask for more understanding and acomadating staff.I would defenetly recommend anyone who's looking for a clean and professional place to stay best western plus 440 couchiching rd is the place to be.

Also there was no soy milk available to have a specialty coffee, and there were no gluten free options available as advertised for breakfast. Could have been very slippery if it had. The pot holes in the parking lot need fixed. More parking is definitely needed. Hard to turn around with a boat and trailer.

Review 60：The adjacent parking lot is still full of pot holes although it may not belong to the Inn ! Parking can be tight when the Inn is full ! You may find this a petty comment but appearance good maintenance is important to me :-(

Review 66：Queen room excellent size for 2 adults with young children. Lovely walk in adjacent park down to the lake before supper in the restaurant. The staff were wonderful with the kids. Really enjoyable stopover on the way north.

Review 67：The dining room food was quite small for a hotel this size. We found it hard to get a seat at breakfast . We thought the bar would be open later on Friday night after the concert, but when we returned at 11:15pm it was closed.
