Located in the edge of the village of Madalena, 350 feet from the sea, Calma do Mar B&B offers cosy accommodations with free WiFi.

Review 1：A few constructive comments: *After booking, you'll receive a map with directions to the hotel. You should delete this map immediately from your device. If you use it, you'll get lost. A rough walking track cutting through some bushes is depicted as a street. Narrow passageways are depicted with a wider line than 2-lane highways. I am not sure where the hosts got this map from, but every cartographic principle seems to be violated. Use Google Maps instead. *I appreciate the fact that the hotel uses chemical-free soap and detergent and promotes recycling, but at the same it also advertises several car rental services in the notice board! In a small island like Pico, road traffic is particularly disruptive, and is a major source of noise and air pollution. Advertising these polluting activities seems a bit out of place in an environmentally-conscious hotel. *Many guests will want to read at night, especially because there is no TV in the hotel. In fact, the hotel even has a very interesting mini library. Unfortunately, it's impossible to read because of the very poor lighting in the rooms, living room, and kitchen *All the instructions and notices inside the hotel are written in German and English, not in the local language. This goes against Portuguese law (Dec.Reg. n.36/97, Art.21) *Speaking about legal stuff, I got the impression that you will not receive a receipt for your payment unless you ask...
Review 2：* Good facilities. All the materials used in the room, toilets, and kitchen are of a high quality. The toilet is especially good. I liked the way the shower area was designed. * Photos on the walls. Interesting perspectives on the island's history and human/natural environment * Free organic spinach!!

Review 4：I really liked the peaceful location, a few minutes walk from Madelena and the ferry terminal. Excellent breakfast prepared by Petra - everything so fresh and tasty. Good quality accommodation with tasteful décor and lovely lounge (with fire) for relaxing and reading.

Review 6：The room was big and perfectly clean with the blankets smelling good. They even provide us with beach towels. The location is close to the seaside as well as Madalena center. You can easily walk to the ferry terminal. All the staff is really kind and professional.
