Reviews for Crown Inn

Review 1:They dont have bar fridge in rooms. cause they want to costumer use their own resturant at downstair. Its expensive . And after 22:00 its off. We could buy drinks from outside but then it's quickly getting warm and not available for drink. SHOULD BE LITTLE FRIDGE IN ROOMS. People have to be free to choose their resturant or not.

Review 2:Staff very friendly!

Review 3:The first room at 60E was in a some sort of ground floor with high windows that have a view towards a wall situated 20cm in front. Next one we asked had a view, but was tiny and dirty; I am not picky, but this one was close to disgusting (dirty walls, floors and a bed that was uncertain) - see picture. We had to upgrade (money was taken in advance so moving was not a solution) to a suite for 40E/day more; the suite was a proper room, but stil kind of old. For the same money you can get a better room elsewhere.

Review 4:Location is great, the rest not so good.

Review 5:Rooms were dirty. Very dirty. earplugges and food remainders from previous guest under the bed!? It seems like the hotel stopped investing in interior since 70's.

Review 6:This might sound a bit weird but I cannot suppress the architect inside me. Big windows with single glazing units on such a big building is a curse. The energy consumption must be really high. And this affects also the temperature of the rooms. It took us 3 hours to make it reach a comfort level. Apart from that everything was perfect. I guess if you cannot find anything else wrong you are allowed to exaggerate a bit...

Review 7:Very friendly staff. Late check-in which was very convenient for us. Amazing location. Big bathroom

Review 8:The only thing I want to say they just ask me to pay tourist tax fee was 3 euro and this was not mentioned when I booked .

Review 9:In general was a good place and the staff were friendly ...

Review 10:I stayed in a front facing room, and id avoid that if possible, the view was great, but they dont have good enough windows to keep the sound out, so if its noisy outside and you will be woken up. The radiator in my room needed bleeding despitely and it barely got warm, which made the room cold.

Review 11:This place is in the best location for anyone looking to enjoy travelling by foot. The train station is a 5 min walk away. The staff are nice, the rooms are cleaned well.

Review 12:Had to wait 20 minutes upon arrival because the receptionist was making herself a tea. Came back without even excusing herself and did not even try to be friendly to compensate a bit. Otherwise, the room is ok. Wifi in the room was terrible, but it was at a corner of the building. Also a bit noisy during the night as my room was on the market place side.

Review 13:Good location, you have everything nearby, and nice breakfast. Also in-house restaurant is quite convenient.

Review 14:The only window in the room was facing the hallway.. and not outside. That gave us a bit of a feeling that we were sleeping in a bunker..

Review 15:In the heart of the city centre. Close to everything.

Review 16:The only thing I didn't like was the wall in my bedroom were a little dirt. Besides it was everything great. I will definitely go to the same place if I have to stay again in Eindhoven.

Review 17:The location and the internet connection were very good.

Review 18:- not clean: fungus in bathroom on the walls/ceiling and shower curtain. - very noisy central heating - old windows: lots of nice from the market square -everything very old and not well maintained - Wifi only worked near the door of the room.

Review 19:- on the market square, close to the station

Review 20:I liked the price and the simplicity. The ensuite had a big bath which was perfect for me. the room was quiet. It was adequate, fit for purpose. not a flashy place at all but good value for money. the staff were lovely

Review 21:noisy fan working in bathroom 10-15 minutes after every turning light on (in room no. 220), poor WiFi connection (in room no. 214), windows cannot be opened

Review 22:Perfect Location, rooms are cleaned every day, good 20Mbs WiFi (in room no. 220), Perfect view from window (in room no. 214)

Review 23:The noise in the early morning due to the Marathon.

Review 24:Fantastic location. Don't think there's a better one in Eindhoven. Overlooks the main square.

Review 25:I had only two days to be there. It is so less. Take more days to be in Eindhoven.

Review 26:Location!Close to Eindhoven station!In the heart of city!Amazing shopping!Nice atmosphere!Lovely city!Nice view!

Review 27:The location is very good, near the shopping street and supper market, many bars and restaurant in that area, also close to the train station, just a few minutes to walk to. Staffs are friendly. Breakfast was ok. The room is small.

Review 28:The previous time I visited this hotel I was very disappointed. The room was old and in a bad condition. Also everything was dirty in my room (bathroom, beds, towels). This time I was very surprised to find everything clean and perfect. Perhaps they are making progress. :) I also had a better room this time, in a very good condition. Not all rooms are the same (and I do not mean kinds of rooms or suits or something like that, I mean the single rooms are not all in the same condition). They are all in same price but the conditions and the atmosphere differ from room to room. They should offer the bad rooms for a little bit better prices I suppose.

Review 29:If you find a nice special deal or a discount offer, then it worths it's money. It also depends on the room you are going to get. Some rooms are very old and in a bad condition and some are renewed and in a very good condition. If you have the chance to get a renewed and in a good condition room then it worths it's money. I like the fact that they offer two restaurants. One very luxurious but a little bit more pinsy, and one simple but affordable and nice, if your budget is low. Choices for all budgets! :P The previous time I visited I was disappointed but this time I can say I was quite satisfied. Not only I found a better price offer but also everything was clean and taken care. The stuff appart from kind and gentle, is very flexible at their services and I can say I appreciated that, too. :)

Review 30:The room seemed to be clean but we discovered a blood stain on the bed sheet under the pillow which was very unpleasant.

Review 31:We got a really big room so everything was great in respect to value for money.

Review 32:The walls were extremely leaky in terms of sound. You could hear everything in the next room. No slippers in the room.

Review 33:We had no problems. Very nice staff.

Review 34:Room, beds, breakfast. Room very small with te bed against the wall. The bed made us roll to the middle. Breakfast was bot refreshed so we had old bread and eggs grom the early morning at 9;30.

Review 35:Location and restaurant in first floor. The Markt is the perfect location grom where you can explore Eindhoven. The restaurant First Floor had à fantastic surprise menu.

Review 36:If you happen to receive rooms 224-228, be ready for an up-and-down-and-up walk. This was never an issue for us, but i would not recommend this hotel to people with limited mobility.

Review 37:The hotel is in a very strategic location, near everything we wanted to visit.

Review 38:We did ask for an early check in when booking as we arrived in Eindhoven early morning (which we were told had been passed on to the hotel). However we were told to wait until 2pm. Quite a while when there isn't a lobby area to wait in. Staff did sort out all out details ready for check in once the room was cleaned and looked after our luggage for us which was handy.

Review 39:The crown inn is situated perfectly in the market square, within walking distance of anything you might need and plenty of lovely restaurants/cafes. Staff were lovely and happy to help, and the room was clean, spacious enough although a little dated. We did try the breakfast one morning: continental style buffet with the addition of rolls, bacon, egg and cereals - not bad if you want to fill up for the day. Overall good value for money and all we needed and expected for a 2 night get-away.

Review 40:Finding the place in a car was cumbersome just as parking was. The bed was sub-standard.

Review 41:The location - if you are not in a car - is as central as it gets.

Review 42:While booking had requested for early check-in of the room which was denied later after we arrived at the hotel. The heater is the room was not working. In the bathtub, if beside rooms would use the bathroom, water used to emerge in the bathtub of our room. The water in the bathtub and basin was stagnant and not flowing easily in the drain. When told about this to the reception, the answer was very rude and said they cannot do much about it. Requested for a change of room, but said there were no other rooms available. The staff at the reception (specifically female with short and coloured hair is very very rude). People pay for their stay in the hotel, then I do not undersatnd why cannot the hotel management have a good staff, clean room at the hotel.

Review 43:Nothing :((

Review 44:The inside could use a serious upgrade! From the carpet to the furniture it was very dated and not the most comfortable. It was fine for one night though.

Review 45:Great location in the middle of everything and friendly staff! Provided everything we needed.

Review 46:I don't like anything specially staff also hotel manager who managed this hotel.I request when i was booked i will arrived little bit earlier but they don't reply anything to me I thought they gonna arranged for me. Unfortunately when i was arrived they say sorry we can't after that i was wait 4-5 hours outside it was very terrible and painful time in my life . I m no gonna recommend any body go to this hotel.

Review 47:I don't like those staff who are working friday morning 5am to 2pm specially who work in the reception. Please i m requesting to you don't behave like that try to understand others. I am going from England 10 hour journey i so many time requesting them plzz do something do something but this lady don't listen to me.

Review 48:1) The hotel is really dated and has not been refurbished for a long time. 2) It was also dirty, blinds grey, bathroom unclean. 3) My room didn't have a proper window and blinds didn't close properly 4) you could feel the springs in the bed. 5) it was quite noisy. I could hear constant dripping but not from my bathroom and humming sounds.

Review 49:Location. Situated in the centre of Eindhoven in the market square.

Review 50:Room's interior decor was well passed it's sell by date. Desk light did not work, the one bedside light was faulty, the safe did not work and hotel management was politely informed. On returning to the hotel for the 2nd night's stay, we found that none of the defects had been rectified, and our room had not been serviced either! Poor clue for the money paid.

Review 51:The location was very good, the receptionist on arrival was helpful. The good points stop there!

Review 52:Very bad experience. Didn't get the room I booked. Booked for two nights, and because they didn't have the room I booked - tried to leave immediately. Been told I would have to pay for the two nights in any case. Eventually they agreed that I leave after 1night. The room I got for 1 night was below any normal standard. The stuff was obnoxious. regardless of the fact they didn't have the room I booked. Very unpleasant experience.

Review 53:This was the best hotel we stayed in on our month trip over Europe. Great price, big spacious room and bathroom. Excellent location, very central. Right near the train station. Wifi was fine.

Review 54:Paid for a room with wifi - no wifi available in the room whatsoever!! I told management three times each day for three days and each time I was told it would be seen to immediately but nothing happened. VERY poor service!! As a journalist I rely on Internet to complete my work which was part of why I chose this hotel in the first place. Very very unhappy. Rooms were also extremely stuffy - no air conditioning and windows barely opened so it was unbearable to be in the room and impossible to sleep. Located on a very busy square it was extremely noisy into the early hours of the morning.

Review 55:Very well located

Review 56:wifi and internet connection were very poor (not enough coverage with slow and unstable connection). It was really hot in the room, the window could only be opened a little bit and there was no AC or a fan available.

Review 57:Great location! Overall, a good place to stay with a limited budget.

Review 58:The AC wasn't working and it happened to be a very hot day in Eindhoven. Our room had no windows, so it was incredibly hot. So we changed to a room with windows and left them open throughout the night. This helped, but it wasn't perfect.

Review 59:The location is perfect, couldn't be better. Nice staff, very helpful and friendly. All in all a very good place to stay.

Review 60:A room with broken air-conditioning and a window which couldn't be opened - imagine how it is to stay there in the summer... NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!! Wifi connection was absolutely below standards...

Review 61:Location

Review 62:The room was very warm and there is no air-conditioning, I had trouble falling asleep.

Review 63:Clean room, friendly staff. Location is perfect when you want to enjoy the city.

Review 64:Was not aware there would be city tax to be paid upon checkout, this should be made more clear, not just for Crown Inn, but for all Eindhoven hotels.

Review 65:Good and clean room, wifi excellent.

Review 66:There was no air conditioning in the room. It was facing the market, so if we would open the window, so much noise would be coming in that it was impossible to sleep. If we kept the window closed, it was difficult to sleep too because it was very hot.

Review 67:The location and the dinner were great

Review 68:Lift being replaced so had to struggle with luggage up to the top floor. Would have cancelled my booking if I had known this in advance.

Review 69:Comfortable, clean room.

Review 70:Elevator was not working and my room was on 3rd floor.... I checked in by 11 at Night....But they did not allow me to check out for about an Hour that is 1.00 PM.....They wished to charge Euro 25 for same....This is not with other hotels..... Will never stay here again....

Review 71:room and rest everything was ok

Review 72:A window looks into a high wall so no light.. No air conditionning in july.. More than 27°C in the room the night. A panel of paster of the ceiling fall down during the night because it was raining the day before (inflitration of water)..

Review 73:Very good location of the hotel. No Noisy.

Review 74:Wi- fi signal to the rooms can be better.

Review 75:Very convenient in the heart of town and close to central station. Clean hotel with friendly staff. Good value for money.

Review 76:Carpets dirty - no chairs for balcony Lift was not working - they were replacing it - we should have been told. No air conditioning - guess I didn't ask. Temp was 25 this location is only good for people under 30.

Review 77:Location was great

Review 78:Ventilation was poor and the air conditioning didnt work well enough. No fridge in the room.

Review 79:Hotel was in center, walking distance to the train station. Convenient for the city centre if that's where you want to be. Clean and tidy, though small room size.

Review 80:1. Lift not working...had to climb 4 floors with luggage 2. Room Key is not activated....so had to climb down all the 4 floors to the reception to get it reactivated. Says something about their orientation towards customer service (particularly when the lift is not working) 3. Poor lighting in the room 4. Problem with Shower, hence changed the room. Again same story..no lift so had to shift the luggage via staircase - moved from 4th to 1st floor. 5. Room key again deactivated on Day-1 evening, inspite of fully paid 2-day stay. So again gone back and forth between room and reception (via stairs). Says more about their customer service....

Review 81:Proximity to the Centrum

Review 82:The elevator didn't work all week, but they were telling that by tomorrow it will be fixed. 5 days, noting was fixed. staying in the 4th level, was not convenient at all !!! Internet was slow when it worked, must of the time he didn't worked....

Review 83:The location is in the center of town.

Review 84:The shared toilet was flooded when we arrived. I mentioned it and the receptionist said he'd have it fixed the following day and that we were to use the shared bathroom on the floor above. However, it smelled pretty bad and I persisted for quite a while and so he upgraded us to a room with a private bathroom. Other guests were not so fortunate though.

Review 85:The place is basic but clean enough.

Review 86:Only one mirror which was in the bathroom and cut off my chin...I'm 5'2". Hairdryer in room didn't work....really inconvenient. Advertised as 'city-view' but was told they cannot guarantee that when we arrived.

Review 87:Wasn't happy with first room (104): windows are really high up and frosted have a brick wall 6 inches behind...hence no natural light. Asked to be moved and reception were accomodation even though they were fully booked and got one (103) on other side of corridor with better windows. Location is fantastic.

Review 88:The elevator was broken most of the times, which meant taking the stairs up to the fourth floor. The free wi-fi didn't work properly, we lost connection every few seconds.

Review 89:Although we had to pay extra for breakfast, it was worth it.

Review 90:Bed was very uncomfortable and room was not very clean (or the overall condition of the room was very old)

Review 91:In the heart of the city center, very close to university campus, train station and many attractions like Philips museum and van Abbe museum.

Review 92:Though clean, it was showing quite a bit of wear and tear.

Review 93:I had to catch an early flight from Eindhoven the following day. The Crown Inn is right downtown. Plenty of bars and eating places around. In the morning I walked for five minutes and got onto the bus to the airport.

Review 94:Close to train, and in the midst of shopping, restaurants, bars. Very reasonable price. There will be noise at night because you are in the middle of everything.

Review 95:Welcome was very bad.Such a lazy person was on the desk on the day whenwe arrived 21 of may,she didn't give us any information's abouta hotel or city nothing at all.We got a strong feeling that she is nothappy to see us there.Next morning we got a better service from anotherlady.I Been working for 9 years as a receptionist manager in London andfor sure know that worm welcome can change a lot of things.

Review 96:Location was right in the heart of Eindhoven.Very convenient....PERFECT

Review 97:Nothing really.

Review 98:You really could not get more central in the city, the hotel staff were friendly and pointed us in the right direction for good food and cheap beer. the room was facing the square and had a small balcony with a comfy bed and 12 o clock check out for a good price.

Review 99:Room was in end of the corridor, below the main level of floor, with view on another wall.

Review 100:There was additional toothpaste and toothbrush and nail file.

Review 101:The walls were made out of carton or something.. You could hear every noise from the corridor or from the other rooms

Review 102:It is located in the actual center, so it was easy to fing and to move around

Review 103:Bed was uncomfortable and not all that clean. Stains on some carpets etc. Didn't bother us though

Review 104:Location was perfect. Price was a bargain. Was a stag do with 13 lads, arranged some beers in the room on arrival for the stag. Perfect

Review 105:The room was well worn eg the door handle of the bathroom came off in my hand. The bathroom sink was a little dirty. It was very hot at night in the room and the air con had very little effect, if any. Not sure if the air con is broken but it made sleeping quite hard. The pillow was poor quality and overly soft.

Review 106:The staff were friendly and very helpful. The wifi was great. The breakfast was nice and the coffee was top quality. The bed was very comfortable.

Review 107:THe lift was not operational, we had a tiresome journey and to end it there was no minibar in the hotel. On asking the receptionist he asked us to go and get water from the kiosk at 1st floor, as the rooms do not even have a mini bar, not expected from a hotel that is rated 3 stars. We had our room at 4th floor, and were expected to walk down and get it as the lift was broken too

Review 108:view of Eindhoven Centrum, and location

Review 109:Housekeeping were knocking at the door too many times No need

Review 110:Beds are big and extremely comfortable. Very good heating Good internet conection Located right next to mcdonalds and very other good restaurants I asked for early check in and they made it happen, well done

Review 111:1. Noisy radiator, VERY noise, it needed to have the air removed from it,. 2.small bed, 3. Limited temperature control, and on my first night the heating stopped working around midnight until the morning ( the other days it worked fine). 4. Tiny rooms, but for the price I'm ok with it. I would definitely go there again, above are listed mostly so you are aware rather than to act as to stop you from going.

Review 112:1. Location, Location Location. Can't beat this hotel on location. Right in the center, close to train station but not too close next to multiple cafes and restaurants, and sites etc. 2. Super fast reliable wifi across the hotel ( even outside), supported Skype calls, and watching tv on line 3. Friendly Staff 4. Did I mention Location? 5. Location!

Review 113:Generally, the facilities are rather worn down: The elevator needs some convincing, the door of the room a rather hard kick (impossible to leave the room without waking up your neighbors), the shower would change the water temperature at libitum and last wall painting was certainly done decades ago. If you expect the room to be warm when you arrive (outside tem. 5°C), that the full waste paper basket to emptied after when the room is tidied up or that you find a new tube of shower gel even though there is still 2.5ml in the used one, then you should look for another place to stay.

Review 114:Very central (walking distance to main station and city centre)

Review 115:Staff rude wouldn't help if we had a problem no windows at all in the room heating was set and couldn't turn down or up.....never again.

Review 116:Leaving the place

Review 117:Price, Free WIFI was non exisitant, the lift is a serious health hazard and is broke most of the time. I'm not picky but for the price is not worth it...

Review 118:Location.

Review 119:Very loud shouting at 5am on my last night. Housekeeping threw away the plastic bag I had for airport security and also rearranged contact lense bottles I had left in a specific order for my own use.

Review 120:Very central location

Review 121:Beds not comfortable, booked a room with bathtub on booking.com but did not get one, bathroom was not very clean,WiFi unstable and slow, there was one window in the room that you hardly could close

Review 122:Near to train station, in the center of Eindhoven with a lot of restaurants and shops nearby, service of reception good

Review 123:Yes......on the nigth of saturday the 7th of march, .....a man, on the second floor (my room 214 )has started yalling...screeming as all get out, knoking to the doors .....going back and forth into the corridor......like a crazy. May be drunk, may ve druged or both. I called the consierge about 21,30 h telling if I had to call the police (the hole thing has started around 19h ) , ....but nobody never came, and nobody from the stuff of the hotel has done nothing .why ?

Review 124:Most of all the location.....

Review 125:No breakfast included in the booking price and the lift sometimes got stuck at the 3rd or 4th floor (the door wasn't closing automatically)

Review 126:The hotel is nice, with some of the rooms located with the window with a view of the center square. Also, the price paid for a 1 night reservation is ok, but mine didn't include breakfast! The room was clean, the bathroom was huge and the facilities in the room where there!

Review 127:It's all a bit old, the bed was are very soft, there may be some noise because of the old single glazing windows set in steel which carry street noise into your room.

Review 128:In the centre, near the train station, reasonably clean, not expensive.

Review 129:Very good location (five minutes to the central station), nice staff, the room was very clean and with some disposable toiletries which can be very usefull !

Review 130:The accommodation had a flat screen tv but otherwise had not been refurbished in the last decade.

Review 131:Top of the list was the excellent food; I had dinner in the restaurant where they have an option for 3/4 courses of chefs selection with wine pairing. Excellent.

Review 132:the last nith we all to have a see you later with the cuzing we living and the man on dore wolde hur with no key eving she was cum she have a drink and go a way and then going he wrond the lad nithg

Review 133:Kfc was out side

Review 134:Eindhoven itself had very little to offer in the way of places to visit, day trips are a must if coming as a tourist. A pre-lent carnival was on so the place was very lovely however, a nice atmosphere. If returning to Eindhoven we would definitely return to the Crown Inn.

Review 135:Great for the price. Hotel a little shabby but very comfortable beds and bedding, staff extremely helpful. Hotel very close to train station and easy to find. Market square facing room had great view but was noisy so we were kindly moved to another room which was not as aesthetically nice but again, well appointed and v quiet. Lots of extras - sewing kit, toothbrush and toothpaste, safe, hairdryer - amidst others a v nice touch. Towels, soap etc replenished every day. Excellent wifi signal.

Review 136:It was a bit Cold, until i got to borrow and extra blanket... BUT then i found the heater... they could have told me when i asked for the blanket! haha

Review 137:The good location and that it was open 24 hours.

Review 138:The room's floor was very dirty, there were still "Carnival"remnants of the previous guests laying around like bits of confetti and colorful strings. Room was plain and bed didn't have a duvet or attractive blanket setup.

Review 139:Location, old style hotel, and the nice view from the window. The hotel offers a lovely restaurant on the first floor for €€ price range. I would stay at this hotel again, but in a cleaner room.

Review 140:Very loud rooms, you could hear everything from the entire ''hotel''. Old elevator (like from 1960's), dirty walls in the rooms, old windows, unfriendly front desk staff - not very keen with problem solving or sharing one single smile.

Review 141:Clean, nice bathrooms (I believe that's the only part where they've spent money on)

Review 142:the rooms where old and didn't look clean. Charged for 4x city tourist tax (should have been 2x). Noise of group opposite of us was so loud we did not sleep after 4am, reception just shrug their shoulders and pretended it never happened.

Review 143:Reception was good and friendly.
