Reviews for Hotel Gracery Shinjuku
Review 1:Price. Pretty expensive when we booked. $220USD a night.
Review 2:Good size rooms for 2 beds vs other similar Japanese hotels. The Godzilla theme was attractive as was the location.
Review 3:No staff helping with luggages at d ground floor and d lobby is at upper floor where you need to take a lift.
Review 4:Close to shops that open 24 hours, staff were helpful.
Review 5:Breakfast was average , but that's a bit " picky" on our behalf...
Review 6:Brilliant location, certainly Shinjuku is central to everything. Rooms are quite small but it's Tokyo so that's just part of the experience
Review 7:Nothing. Just love to stay there.
Review 8:The room has good interior design, nice design on combination between Japanese and western bathroom, very clean, good location.
Review 9:The room is small but it's Tokyo so you can't expect a large room anyway.
Review 10:The location is fabulous, Shinjuku is a very lively area and there are a lot of bars and restaurants around. The hotel is new and clean. If you come to Shinjuku station, make sure to take central east exit and you're at the hotel after only 5 minutes of walking
Review 11:small room, but then most of hotels in Tokyo relatively small.
Review 12:(1) Godzilla statute; (2) plenty great restaurants choices just below the hotel; (3) walking distance from Shinjuku Station. This hotel is located in the heart of red light district (Kebukicho area), walking to the hotel from the station surely is an interesting experience. However, its just a perfect location, walking distance to Isetan Shinjuku, Bic Camera and all.
Review 13:nothing
Review 14:best location near shinjuku jr station in walking distance comfortable size of the room toilet and bath tub perfect condition,Thai reception hotel staff very helpful, convenient stores nearby ,everythings all perfect
Review 15:The room was unexpectedly small even though it's a Double. There were literally no space for luggage to be placed. I even found hair in the bathroom and used capsule under my bath towel.
Review 16:It was easy to locate and strsightforward. Convenience store all around the vicinity. Despite its location, it was pretty quiet.
Review 17:Nothing partly bad about the hotel except maybe can improve in term of cleaning the room. There were few times our used cup was not washed and we have to wash it ourselves. Sometime we left dirty tissues on the table and we got a poster note saying we not sure whether this can be clean, which we thought was quite obvious is for cleaning.
Review 18:Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is a perfect place to stay. I really like the location very convenient to travel around Tokyo. The staff are very friendly, have computer for you to use and have printer for you to print out tickets for places. We had a lady room only, great for lady and provided a lot of lady products to use such as face masks. Best part love the Grozilla on top of the hotel building.
Review 19:Incredibly small room, no English channels on tv was really frustrating given we stayed there for just over a week, average bed and pillows and strangely no top sheet on the bed. Couldn't just buy a Coffee in the lobby, had to be full breakfast or nothing! And sometimes you just want a coffee! Small thing but annoying the lack of flexibility.
Review 20:Location and friendly staff from reception to the room cleaners. The breakfast in bonsulate downstairs was very reasonably priced (approx $20 AUD) but basic. Advice for others; We checked out at 8:30am which was planned because the line is insane around 11:00 if you wait till then.
Review 21:The access to transportation was terrible. It took at least a 15 minute walk to get to JR station. It's not convenient as a base if you want to get around the city.
Review 22:The hotel was really clean and very modern. Location was good for food options.
Review 23:We only visited the lobby bar once as we found the service to be poor. There was a wine bar at the street level which was better for a drink and a chat.
Review 24:Room was small but but very modern and with fantastic use of the compact space, especially the bathroom - typical Japanese efficiency in design. Location was in the "colourful" part of town which meant it was crazy busy at night but also fun. Location was also handy to a major train station with intersecting lines.
Review 25:Rooms were too small!!! There was hardly any room to lay out your clothes . It was difficult getting things from the luggage. Concierge could be more informative. We requested for info on taking the express to narita . They gave us incomplete info causing us to almost miss the train!
Review 26:Centrally located, walking distance to the shinjuku station and so many shopping areasz
Review 27:Housekeeper forgot to replenish coffee supplies. Just had one and we stayed there for 4 nights.
Review 28:It is a very nice, clean & modern hotel. Staff are efficient & friendly.
Review 29:We found someone smoke on our floors in the middle of the night, because we smelled it and needed to turn off he air con right away!!
Review 30:Everything is good!!!
Review 31:i dont like the pillow !!
Review 32:Good location, easy to find food in the middle of night. lots of good restaurants nearby the hotel. near with train station, only 5 mins walk. Friendly receptionist who could speak English fluently. the rooms is clean and a little bit small.
Review 33:The location of the hotel is amazing, 5 min walk from the train station. Very clean room, with a large shower and tidy space efficient room. Very impressed. Also mineral water left for guests complimentry every day.
Review 34:Nothing.
Review 35:Great location right in the middle of the action if you don't mind staying within the red light district. The hotel was safe from the sleazy activity going on around. No lack of restaurants, drugstores around and very close to loads of shopping. 2 blocks from Shinjuku east exit. Room was small but cosy. Bathroom was really nice. Room had good views of the shinjuku area!
Review 36:I do not have any bad experience. I actually found the hotel so comfortable and convenient on my first visit that I booked my second trip at gracery. It was equally great.
Review 37:Friendly and helpful staff. Also the room was spotless and comfortable. And finally a great location in Tokyo. Great experience.
Review 38:None.
Review 39:The location is great, just a short walk to Shinjuku station. The room was small but comfortable and cozy, the fixtures were all modern and new, the bathroom was large, very nice. The staff and the hotel are great. I would stay here again with no hesitation.
Review 40:As this is the heart of Tokyo space is a rare commodity so the rooms can be quite small.
Review 41:Brand new hôtel in the heart of Kabukicho, very modern and high standing. Spotless. Giant Godzilla bust.very comfy beds.
Review 42:Hotel is in red light district. Took us abt 20 mins to rch hotel from Shinjuju station initially. Bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. Room was very small. Room cleaning was sloppy.
Review 43:Once you know d location of hotel, its easy to get to. Many restaurants in the area. Staff were able to communicate in English.
Review 44:Like many Tokyo hotels the room is small, and if you are a very tall person I can see that you may have your feet hanging outside the bed. No enclosed wardrobe (only hanger recesses). No other facilities like exercise room. Toiletries in the room are pretty minimal in comparison with other Tokyo hotels. Some dodgy streets in the neighbourhood.
Review 45:Convenient location in the centre of Tokyo. Staff were corteous and responsive. Little things like being able to find me an umbrella on the day of a heavy downpour helped a lot. The Godzilla theme makes it unique. The shower and bath cabinet was spacious by Tokyo standards. Wifi worked well. Charger points for iPhone/ iPad via direct USB wall sockets.
Review 46:I really like the facilities provided in the room and the location of the hotel is really nice. There is a cinema on the lower floor under the hotel if you like watching movies.
Review 47:The room is small but it is expected as most hotels in Japan the room is small.
Review 48:The location, near Shinjuku Station and lots of shop, shopping mall and restaurant nearby. About 15 minutes walk to the hotel from the station. The staff is helpful. In Shinjuku station, look for elevators instead of the staircase if you have big and heavy luggage. I discovered the elevators the next day. When I arrived, I was lucky, a policeman help me to carry the bag using the staircase.
Review 49:As soon as the sun sets and you step foot outside the place if you're a single white male traveler you will be set upon by Africans trying to get you into strip/massage/sex parlours. It just wears you out and there's no avoiding them.
Review 50:Centrally located to all of shinjuku
Review 51:The rooms are small with barely any space to move around. Since I was alone, I didn't have problems. But when there are two persons, there would be no space to keep another suitcase.
Review 52:This hotel is in a perfect location Shinjuku . The rooms are excellent, clean with good amenities . The buffet breakfast is excellent with choices of 2 restaurants , one a sandwich breakfast and the other, western / Japanese . As you go to the ground floor, there are a lot of restaurants serving different cusine.
Review 53:Just a little more storage space would help.
Review 54:Staff were great; amenities on women's floor were an extra nice touch. Excellent location; very clean.Definitely will stay here again.
Review 55:The internet connection in the room is not very stable.
Review 56:The location of the hotel is great!! Only 2 blocks from Shinjuku station with lots of choice of food.
Review 57:A bit impersonal. No ladies greeting you at the door. Room is just barely large enough.
Review 58:Location. Fun area loads of restaurants. New facility. Good breakfast.
Review 59:The hotel was like an oasis within the jungle; as soon as one steps inside the hotel, all the noises and actions of Shinjuku stopped, and you are in a different world!
Review 60:we purchased a ticket for airport limousine from the hotel lobby's concierge. they instructed us to buy the ticket 1 day before our flight,so we did. i made sure that i mentioned the correct airport since tokyo had two airports and the tickets were in japanese. i repeatedly said we were going to HANEDA airport. when we had dinner with a japanese friend, he told us the hotel gave us tickets to NARITA airport. after dinner, i went back to the hotel and complained. they changed our ticket to the correct airport limousine and refunded us our money. tough luck!
Review 61:the location is great! it is in the middle of shinjuku. you can walk to almost anywhere.
Review 62:Because it is a hotel catering to mass travellers, the level of service was a little disappointing.
Review 63:1. The location is fantastic 2. Safe even for single female traveller 3. 24hra shopping & eateries available just below the hotel 4. When the room was DND-ed from Housekeeping, the housekeeper left a bag of fresh towels, toiletries & tea/coffee bags for me to change which was very thoughtful
Review 64:The location of the hotel, while very convenient, is not ideal for those travelling with children, considering safety at night. The hotel is surrounded by all sorts of entertaining facilities, including host clubs and drinking bars.
Review 65:The hotel is still quite new, and, of course, very clean. Easy to access train and subway. Easy to get taxis. Close to all the shopping malls.
Review 66:It's a bit crowded at time but understandable as its the night life area.
Review 67:Location is great, very JR Shinjuku , subway. Many restaurants near the hotel & some of them operate 24/7.
Review 68:Poor wifi, I stay at level 14, can not use room Wifi at all!
Review 69:convenient location for shopping, I stay at female room, facility for female is perfect and very considerate, they provide cosmetic products like cleansing oil, facial cleanser, toner, moisturiser and Masks! All are DHC. they even provide bath salt. Dehumidifier and facial steam machine supprised me as well, I like them a lot!
Review 70:There was nothing I didn't like
Review 71:I actually liked everything about this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. I will stay at this hotel again. Perfect area.
Review 72:The Hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station. Room is small and no enough space in closet
Review 73:The Hotel is in the center of Shinjuku Area. Shopping Center is within walking distance
Review 74:Was "IFie" about the location being in the Kabuki-Cho at first, but it was perfectly safe when you mind your own business. Lots to eat and shop around the area. Close to the JR Shinjuku station EAST exit.
Review 75:Please do not sell electric adaptors to your guests. We are not PRC or European tourists!! If you do not trust your guests ask them for a refundable deposit. All other hotels in Tokyo readily lend adaptors to their guests. Please provide dustbins in strategically located places for us to depose off rubbish (used tissues and wrappings, etc). It is very inconvenient to hand rubbish to hotel staff to help dispose. I am sure they do not like it very much.
Review 76:Very comfortable and convenient to stay.
Review 77:The rooms are compact and very well designed, I stayed on the ladies floor and the bathroom, set up and products offered made for a very comfortable 4 night stay.
Review 78:It is probably the smallest 4-star hotel room we have ever been in. Just TOO small.
Review 79:Our room was at the top floor, with great view of Tokyo, and the hotel is located right in the heart of Shinjuku
Review 80:I accidentally booked a smoking room (not sure how that happened), and no non-smoking rooms were available when we checked in. Since I am not a smoker, it was on the unpleasant side but we decided to just stay in the room thinking we would get used to the smell. The room and floors smelled of smoke and my sensitive skin was quite irritated from the smoke exposure. Just be careful to double check your reservation if you mean to book a non-smoking room! :)
Review 81:The concierge service was most excellent and amazing. They helped us obtain restaurant reservations and did it all with great customer service. Location was great and very close to the subway station.
Review 82:I did not much like the choices of breakfast buffet. Some hotel guests are annoying. They keep on looking during breakfast. Hoping to include in the house rules to respect fellow hotel guests. The guy attendants assigned during night time are not so patient or acccommodating when being asked some questions
Review 83:I like almost everything in this hotel like the toiletries, the separate bath tub to shower, the proximity to the rail stations, the interior design, the sound proofing of the room, clean and very comfortable
Review 84:Needed to avail for medical help, written instructions were available only in Japanese, but should be available in English as well.
Review 85:Excellent central location. Room sizes (both for single and double rooms) better than comparable hotels in Tokyo in the same price range. Modern rooms, nice bathroom. Decent breakfast options, however, bread options should be improved.
Review 86:If the location is well located un Shinjuku area, when you are with suitcases 10' from Shinjuku JR station is faire (I prefer max 5')
Review 87:The design of the hotel, film and restaurant; the floor only for women; the good location in Shinjuku; thé balance to weight my suitcases before departure, the hepful staff, thé onsen bath system
Review 88:Room was small but it didn't bother us so much as we wasn't in there much.
Review 89:The hotel was very central located and very convenient. Lots of places to go out to eat and not far from the nearby stations.
Review 90:Very close to Shinjuku station east Exit and a beautiful, well maintained new property. Very good break fast. Pocket wifi is an excellent facility. Very helpful staff. Coin washing machine is also a good idea. Even though it seems to be a night life area, the security of business travellers does not have any problem
Review 91:4 minutes walk from the East exit of Shinjuku train station, perfectly designed compact room, great bath and fantastic staff made this a perfect hotel for our first nights in Japan. Loved it!
Review 92:Not enough wardrobe space for clothing and the window is too high and not big enough so cannot enjoy the view unless you stand on the bed.
Review 93:Location are excellent and facilities was great especially shower room design was the best experience.
Review 94:Tiny room, but mostlikely ok for Tokyo standards Breakfast room was very busy and there was a queue during busy hour
Review 95:Nice location Hotel feels relative new 7-11 convenient store on ground floor Bed quality was good
Review 96:No negatives, our stay was perfect.
Review 97:This hotel was in a fantastic location close to Shinjuku Station with plenty of options for food and shopping nearby. Rooms were very well sized for Tokyo and very clean, loved the Japanese style bathroom!
Review 98:Access to the hotel lobby labyrinthian, then even more labyrinthian to get to the room. Spaciousness of the lobby would lead one to believe that the rooms would be reasonably sized and comfortable, but in fact my double bedded room was so small, it was difficult to move around. Furthermore, for a brand new hotel placed in such a visually-spectacular location, you would expect the views to be first rate, but the windows are narrow slits deep set into the walls, so any pleasurable view is comically absent. A total disappointment.
Review 99:Nice room, but really small for a couple with 1 child
Review 100:Value for money; great location (many restaurants & shops within walking distance); spacious reception area; good breakfast selection; new & clean space; Godzilla head
Review 101:No room service! But this seems to be a thing in Japan. ?
Review 102:I liked everything about this hotel. It was new, clean & very friendly. The location was also amazing. I wouldn't bring kids as it is in the middle of the red light district, which is not seedy at all, weirdly! There are some peep show signs which are xxx rated and that's pretty much it. We found a few brilliant restaurants close by, shinjuku station is close, everything was close by walking distance. The godzilla was amazing and he was how we actually found the hotel! If you are lost, just look up! They have an Italian restaurant at this place and the food & wine are nice if you want to stay in. All in all, this hotel made the stay a lot more enjoyable.
Review 103:The coffee corner is closed for just coffee when breakfast is served.
Review 104:Great location, modern facilities, great view of the city and Godzilla -literally- on top.
Review 105:It was located in kabuchiko which meant getting pestered for massages while traveling to/from the hotel.
Review 106:It was a great location to eat and get to the subway station. Nice selection of restaurants nearby. Room is kind of small, but has everything needed.
Review 107:Room layout a little odd... bathroom is quite big in comparison to the rest of the room.. would've preferred more space around the bed etc and a smaller bathroom :-?
Review 108:Position, facilities, great breakfast
Review 109:- Small room - Shower head holder located outside the bath (for Japanese style) - More fresh vegetables and milk products needed (I know it's not very common in Japan)
Review 110:- The Lady's Only room is really great - facial steamer and cosmetics/body care stuff! - Great location - Very good breakfast in Buonsalute - Big bathroom - Coin wash-machines - Iron, humidifier, kettle and green tea
Review 111:Wifi is really bad cannot load pics of social media. other than that is perfect.
Review 112:Godzilla is amazing, room is nice and tidy, view is good, location is fantastic.
Review 113:Small issue, but the pillows were pretty uncomfortable
Review 114:The location was awesome and the staff were super friendly and attentive. The hotel was always super clean and had great facilities. Pretty close to the train station and plenty of good food options just downstairs
Review 115:Need to take 2 elevators to get to room. Pillows are terrible. No room service
Review 116:Great location, modern and clean. Good service. Decent value. Great bathroom
Review 117:The room was small and sealed shut. no balcony to sit in or even a window to open. The lobby had not much room to sit in and when we wanted to sit in the balcony to drink our coffee in the morning they didnt allow us to do so.
Review 118:it was very clean and the view was good.
Review 119:aggressive night club workers trying to get you to enter their establishment. Breakfast was a bit overpriced in Hotel better to go to restaurant right outside hotel
Review 120:location to all restaurants and train station
Review 121:Hotel is literally 5 minutes walk from station. Staff are excellent and although small rooms have everything you need and are spotless. Fabulous stay here and would definitely go back
Review 122:Wifi was weak. Lack of a fitness centre. Will be great to have airport bus service at the hotel as it is extremely challenging to maneuver luggage amongst the crowd in shinjuku in order to get to the bus service or narita express.
Review 123:Clever room design. Comfortable bed, with different pillow options. Love the bathroom.
Review 124:I didn't like the x rated night clubs that were in the area.
Review 125:The Godzilla statue and the convenient location of how you can get around by the train station.
Review 126:The amenities did not include body lotion and shower cap.
Review 127:One of our friends complained about her room. She reserved a double room but was surprised to find the bed to be too small for 2 persons. The hotel, however, accommodated their request and gave them a twin room.
Review 128:Tiny room but this is standard in Tokyo. It is in the heart of the red light district, which might bother some people. But actually the things are very tucked away, so you see no gals with half of their boobs hanging out that kind of thing (actually, all goods are in shops not on display) And as a single gal in jeans and sneakers, I was nicely left alone.
Review 129:giant bath tub and good strong shower for even single room. Comfy double bed. Great housekeeping one day I ordered no housekeeping and came back to find a big bag of clean towels for change on the door handle. The gozilla roaring add a fun touch.
Review 130:Wifi keeps shutting off Very very small room with spacious bathroom. Seems a little wasted since you spend time more in the room than in the bathroom. Have to lie my suitcase on bed to open it up Coz there is no where else to do it Because the room is very small, the cleanliness is okay only (I can't imagine how the hotel can clean probably once you have luggage in there)
Review 131:Great location - right in the middle of the action!! Lots of 24/7 facilities nearby- 7/11, restaurant, karaoke etc Plenty of coin operated laundry If I'm staying in Tokyo with minimal luggage, then I might consider this hotel. Otherwise, will look for other hotel
Review 132:Hotel restaurants and breakfast were not great.
Review 133:Great location and excellent value for the amount spent - also stayed at an APA next door to Hotel Gracery for same money and facilities, staff were not as good and rooms were half the size of Hotel Gracerys
Review 134:Room size. But for this location, u cannot have everything! Highly recommend
Review 135:Great location, location, location! Great breakfast! $40 USD to Nippori station so can catch skylines to airport when we have bought so much!
Review 136:The size of the room is much smaller then I expected. I know, it is Tokyo! Just a kind reminder for the travelers with big suitcases.
Review 137:The location is perfect for a city lover, since it is located in the heart of Shinjuku and very close to Shinjuku JR and subway. Enough to see, to shop, to eat, to walk around, even in the evening.
Review 138:Room was a bit small
Review 139:Godzilla statue on the 8th floor was so cool. Location was great. Very convenient. A few minutes walk to the subway. Lots of places to eat.
