Reviews for Da Hostel
Review 1:Not something that really disturb me but the bed below mine wasn't occupied by anyone and since I arrived till i leaved (3 nights), bedsheets used by a previous guest has been left there. One last thing is that if the hostel declared that guests must chease to make noise by midnight then the hostel, in my opinion, should verify that the guests are really respecting this regulation. The second night I was trying to sleep but someone was keen on watching loudly "Coming to America" and it was 1.20 AM! Very last, some lightning on the stairs is something that concern the safety of the guets and this comes first, 4 floors in the dark...
Review 2:Location was perfect, directly on the Arbat St.. The hostel on the whole is clean and cozy, inside you can't wear your shoes (you can leave theme at the dormitory main door and waer your slipper) and this is a good thing especially in winter time. Bathroom are cleaned many times per day, and hot water are running efficiently.
Review 3:Very rare for me to be critical of accommodation. Impossible to find (I scorned the reviews that mentioned this, presuming they were inexperienced travellers but it is really a problem). The unfriendliest staff. communal area is used by staff who resent guest intrusion. Arbat district is actually very boring
Review 4:Once you orientate yourself it is a short walk to the Kremlin and Red Square. The trouble is this takes a couple of days as Moscow is difficult to navigate with it's cyrillic only signs
Review 5:1.Beds!!!!! It is too moving, so I couldn't sleep well. Also, I think that it would make the other people uncomfortable. I stayed for 3days and I am used to it. But, It would be much much better if the beds are changed. 2. cannot use lift. It is located on 4th and 5th floor, but the lift didn't work. Everyday I exercised.
Review 6:Location is really good and comfortable. And I liked the Common room;)
Review 7:Staff could be a bit more friendly. The bunk beds shake a lot. So if anyone on either of the beds move, the whole thing shakes. This can be made better
Review 8:The facilities were awesome. For the price, the hostel's common room has a fridge to keep your food and an entire kitchen.
Review 9:On the 4th floor no lift. Bunk bed was ever so creaky and had a horrible plastic mattress cover - they really needed new beds in the dorm I was in
Review 10:Central location.
Review 11:lots of long term local residents staying here, not very many international backpackers, 5 flights of stairs and not allowed to use the lift, food was constantly getting stolen out of the fridge, very squeeky beds
Review 12:excellent location near to kremlin, metro and is right next to the best walking street in the city. they had a playstation and tv in the common area
Review 13:1) It's better if a special locker room is provided, so then when other need to pack their stuffs they won't disturb the others who are asleep. (separate locker room) 2) Please provide an air-conditioner , because it's really hot & stuffy in the room. It's very hard to sleep especially during summer time. 3) Perhaps, the customer/s may use the elevator more often.
Review 14:Very convenience. A very good environment. Everything is fine except a few things. Need a little improvement. Especially the first 2 :3
Review 15:I like when mattress is solid, not creaky.
Review 16:At first I wanted to stay in a hostel with lots of foreigners because I love foreigners :D and I love their speech and accents, also I love that the hostel have free shoes to walk inside. Also there is person that cleans the kitchen very often and washes the dishes if somebody forgot to wash it. Also this hostel has the best location. It's like a center of centers. And I loved the atmosphere of friendliness! The best hostel in Moscow! :D
Review 17:Don't really know what to complain about. For me it was a perfect accommodation in all ways. I will come back and tell my friends to stay at this hostel if they are in Moscow for a short stay.
Review 18:I must say I was impressed!DaHostel was small but really warm clean and cosy!Me and my friends really enjoyed our stay there! It was quiet even though sometimes people had little parties in the living room. And the location is just amazing, right on the Arbat street. Perfect value for money. We've also booked a family room as it was 4 of us. This way we didn't have to share a room with strangers ;)
Review 19:staff not so very welcome pillow a bit dirty difficult to find a place at first, need to ask someone
Review 20:good facilities; kitchen, TV, notebook for free use with internet connection, game zone, etc. less than 10 mins walk from subway lots of food near by most of interesting places are in walking distance
Review 21:There is no such
Review 22:Beautiful location with excellent location, responsive staff, nice and cozy rooms and at an attractive price, so I recommend this hostel.
Review 23:Only a few minutes walk to the metro and just off Arbat Street. If you go to Moscow this is the place to stay. Many of the sights are close by and are within walking distance. The staff is friendly and some speak English.
Review 24:Not a very friendly atmosphere. Showers and bathrooms were ok for cleanliness but not fantastic. The bunk beds were a bit rickety Very, Very, hard to find.
Review 25:Location Value for money
Review 26:There is just one shower for men.
Review 27:Location
Review 28:Location near metro station and staff friendly..wifi good
Review 29:The hostel is crowded, staff is obviously inexperienced, bathrooms are quite smelly...
Review 30:but it has a good emplacement, near the center.
Review 31:It was boring without elevator...
Review 32:well..I have been many times in Moscow,it is The Best hostel in the city!
Review 33:We could not use the lift and the rooms were on the 4th floor
Review 34:The cleanness and the hostel is well designed
Review 35:Staff is not helpful The bed is dusty and unconfortable The bathroom is old and uncomfortable
Review 36:Location is good
Review 37:Bad smell and noisy
Review 38:Noise levels - no quiet after a certain time so sleep was difficult. No lights out time
Review 39:Location hard to beat as was the price
Review 40:1,good graffiti design outside. 2,clean and silent. 3,the girl in reception Daria is very beautiful. 4,close to Arbat street.
Review 41:toilet and bathroom is a bit smelly.
Review 42:location is convenient. Staffs are very nice and helpful. Not bad
Review 43:Dirty bathrooms. Staff not so friendly
Review 44:"yes hostel for yes people" sais the sript at the entrance. Not only the customers should be "yes peolpe" but the employees too. They should handle and record the reservations more precisely. In a "Da Hostel" I would expect much more smile and much more enthusiasm from employees. Tip for travellers: check your booking with the hostel before you arrive to avoid inconveniences, otherwise highly recommended place to stay!!!
Review 45:excellent location, nice interior, clean, very nice common room with very well equipped kitchen. Nice interior decoration. Excellent place to explore Moscow.
Review 46:Wifi was broken for the entire stay. The lift in the building is for residents only, so enjoy carrying suitcases up 4 floors of stairs. No aircon made the room extremely hot and uncomfortable, which also meant you had to leave the window open, allowing all the noise from the loud street below in. It was extremely uncomfortable and I only stayed one night before finding somewhere better to stay. DO NO STAY HERE.
Review 47:First of all it is very difficult to find the hostel, there is absolutely no sign visible from the street even if you have found the exact address. The majority of the staff doesn't speak english. Our room was not only not cleaned when we received the key (after 2 pm.), but there were still the clothes and the luggage etc. of the previous guest! Very often there was nobody at the reception, instead a phone number, where you could call them (being abroad, you will spend a fortune on phone-calls, for sure this is not a tourist-friendly solution). The elevator never worked, and staying on the 5th floor it was really annoying. The walls are very thin, you hear every single word and movement of your neighbours.
Review 48:The hostel has a good location.
Review 49:Even they have an elevator, it was not able to use. The hostel is on the 4th floor. Check in just for €20 fee (it was not on the description). Staff just speak russian. Bedsheet dirty. Female bathroom in bad conditions.
Review 50:Good location, but hard to find the entrance.
Review 51:Cool staff, very good location, nice rooms, nice atmosphere, nice kitchen. They had maps at the reception which was very cool, wi-fi working very good also in rooms.
Review 52:It's kind of noise when I'm gonna to sleep at night. And the tableware is not that clean couse there always were people who don't wash there dishes.
Review 53:I think it's a sweet hostel with a cute host:) We had a great memory about this place, becuase its clean and small and warm. I will live here next time!
Review 54:it's a big hostel so a lot of people live there, so noisy at night. and i don't know why when we're sleeping the staff open our door and let another guest to watch in(to say to her somebody live here?) during the whole night there are several times that somebody try to open our door with key. that's not so nice for me. it's just allowed to use the evelator when i was with luggage else i have to walk the stairs (4F, you need a key to turn the evelator)
Review 55:it's not so hard to find it when knowing it's at the back side of the street. closed to metro and convient. but pay attention when you choose the metro station, since there are 2 stations calls Arbatskaya, and the one in Line4 is more closed to the hostel.(one time i came out from the Arbatskaya of Line3 and it's so far)when i arrived the staff help me to carry the luggage.
Review 56:The hostel is crowded and sometimes the guests are loud and dirty.
Review 57:The location was great. It was walking distance from the Kremlin and the famous Christ the Saviour Cathedral. It was also near multiple metro lines and lots of good restaurants. Our private room was very clean.
Review 58:Nothing, just one comment, it can be good if there would be the same kitchen facilities at 5-d floor like on the 4-d. But it was ok.
Review 59:Actually everything was good, but what is the most important is early check-in allowed. We arrived early morning around 7 a.m., and we were glad that staff invited us to stay at the lounge area to wait check-in hours. It was very kind, and lounge area was very comfortable. While waiting check-in we were able to have a shower and to have breakfast.
Review 60:The showers are obviously being redone, you feel like you are in the middle of roadwork. Our room was right next to the kitchen, people were extremely noisy, even at 4am. Staff was completely lost. We had to wait to check in to our room because our predecessors were late.
Review 61:The situation
Review 62:- it is hidden
Review 63:- the hostel is in the city center of moscow close to many tourist attractions - staff was friendly - there is a kitchen for cooking your meal
Review 64:The hostel is on the fourth and firth floors and the lift never seems towork, so it's a long slog up the stairs with your kit, especially inAugust when the temperature is hot. The dryer wasn't working eitherfor much of my stay and no-one told me when it had been repaired.Sleeping early at nigth can be a problem as most of Moscow doesn'tgo to bed until late. It's not a noisy hostel by any means butpeople are coming and going in the bigger dorms all the time. Although Ihonestly didn't find this a major problem.
Review 65:The hostel was obviously marvellous when it was first opened a year agoand still has an abundance of facilities in terms of cooking, eating, clothes washing, ironing, wifi, games, books and amenities. It'sstill very clean but more due to the staff than the hostellers (some ofwhom live in while working in Moscow). Unfortunately that seems to behuman nature. Other nice features include communal cooking oil, usuallytea and sugar and drinking water. It's an ideal base and wellpositioned with a small (albeit soemwaht expensive) supermarket nearby.Arbatskaya Metro station is five minutes walk and once you get the hangof the system and some basic cyrillic alphabet knowledge, this must beone of the best and most efficient city transport networks in the world. Most people are very friendly, both travellers, living in and staff(although it's sometimes difficult to tell the latter categoriesapart). Shoes must be left at the main door so it's advisable tobring some slip-on sandals or slippers of your own. Bedding and towelsare clean and fresh and bunks are comfortable. Can't think that youwould find a better place in central Moscow for the price. I'dalmost certainly return if I was staying in Moscow again. Thanks toeveryone for an enjoyable 13 days spent at Da Hostel. If you want torelax in Moscow, you must go to the parks: Gorky, Sokolniki and VDNKh(also great space travel museum here).
Review 66:The room for 10 people was too small. The bathroom for girls was broken so everyday my girlfriend had to go to the other floor to take a shower. The elevator was broken and it is in the 4 floor, so the first day with the suitcases was not good.
Review 67:the location
Review 68:There was a guy from the staff always playing video games...I think he was from the staff just an adiccted gamer, terrible environment...always using the tv the price was also wuite high there was no free breakfast
Review 69:Design e as raparigas do staff e a localização
Review 70:We stayed for 4 nights and had to change rooms 3 times between the 2 of us as other people had booked them. We were never told that we would be doing this when we booked. And this also meant that some nights we weren't in the same room. It also meant we had to check out in the morning completely and re check in later, meaning we had no where secure to leave our valuables only the left luggage room.
Review 71:Staff were very friendly and helpful, it was really clean and a brilliant location
Review 72:where was a little bit mess with my reservation - they checked me out after one night instead of two, which was fixed pretty fast. In addition, I witnessed that another customer had a problem - she ordered female-only room but was put in a mix room. A locker was broken and i needed to fix it myself. I did not see an air conditioner in the room, it may be hot during the summer time.
Review 73:Location, location, location! Very close to Kremlin and tourist attractions. Very nice place; they have comps with free Internet; huge TV rooms. Definitely good value taking into consideration Moscow prices.
Review 74:The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hostel was very clean and well kept. I read a lot of the reviews saying it was messy and dirty, but I think that was because of dirty people, not the hostel. Everything was very nice during my stay.
Review 75:The tv was always in russian ;)
Review 76:Very cool hostel at the very center of moscow. I stayed there 3 weeks and was able to enjoy my stay. Three key points for me: 1)On the same building there is a russian school so if you come to moscow and want to study a bit of the language is perfect. 2) every bed has 2 power socket. Ideal because i use tablet and phone. 3) friendly staff.
Review 77:cash only not credit card accepted broken elevator but it have been too long for fix it as it have been . the reception was on the fifth floor without no elevator with heavy lugguage was really bad.for each floor there're about 20 stairs for get to one floor.monthsssssssssss. room was dirty lack .only one tissue paper in toilet in sharing room with ten people was ran out many times without any spare in the room at all. bad wifi connection in bed room.
