Reviews for Best Western Plus Vega Hotel & Convention Center
Review 1:I want your hotel to change perfume that you used to corridor , that was totally bad .....
Review 2:all of them can speak English very well , even if security man also . and breakfast was fantastically delicious.
Review 3:Too many security checks, even when not needed: while I was standing in front of the door with key-card I did not like guard stopping me to show the key and check if I say the correct room number. Annoying!
Review 4:The hotel is head and shoulders above any of the Moscow hotels I've been to even compared to other 4-star options. Service levels are excellent, as are location and prices. I've stayed several times and never had to complain, so I'd highly recommend it to international travellers.
Review 5:Staff were helpful though English is not spoken by the majority of staff. Showing room card on entry to elevator area was bit annoying. Rooms did not have thermostat so sometimes it could be uncomfortably hot inside.
Review 6:Definitely has the best value for money, especially for a long stay like I did. Location was great and very close to metro station, which gave good access to the rest of the city. Lots of facilities in the hotel and the shops around are great in case you needed something.
Review 7:A bit far from the city center. Aproximately it takes 40min to reach the center by metro. Everything else is fine.
Review 8:Hotel is big enough and crowdy with pleasent staff. Room also clean and comfortable. Lobby bar which serves 24hour is not so expensive. Nearby there a quiet number of restourants and pubs. Metro is too close, 3 min distance by walk. I liked it very much.
Review 9:Despite request for good internet connection, it was not very good. Apparently they are working on a new network installation which should improve things.
Review 10:Very well located in outskirt of Moscow with metro station to the center on walking distance. Good service, most staff is very friendly and helpfull
Review 11:The heating in room cannot be regulated, it was too hot in the room, needed to switch on air conditioning and to open the window
Review 12:The staff is friendly, there were some questions about my reservation, but they solved the problem without any difficulties
Review 13:Three nights out of 35 I got almost no sleep due to kids running in the corridors and playing in rooms. I also went to restaurant one night for a quiet meal and left before I ordered as there were kids running through the restaurant.
Review 14:The friendliness of the cafe staff. Alec, Nadya, Nizam and Alexander were standouts and made my trip very memorable. Max at the front desk was also very helpful.
Review 15:Bed was so-so. Breakfast selection was good, but the food quality could be better. WiFi under upgrade program, did not work very well. Should be ok when upgrade finished.
Review 16:Location. Cleanliness. Very Quiet, even though it is large hotel on a busy street. Incredible value, even given the shortcomings.
Review 17:After keeping me waiting for 1 hour at midnight, they could not check me in, saying that the hotel is full, and transferred me to a nearby hotel (Dedeman Park). It was crazy! Besides I paid more to the new hotel!
Review 18:Parking was not free (450 Rubles) with primitive payment method, cash only at parking entrance (not possible at the reception). Parking lot was not covered so cars are exposed to the elements. Drains in bathroom were slow, and there was no active bathroom ventilation. WiFi was slow. Only Russian channels on TV.
Review 19:Affordable 4 stars hotel, excellent and affordable buffet restaurant (serves 3 meals a day). My room was comfortable and clean with refrigerator and safe (Superior type). Metro is very close. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 20:Would not let us check in 20 minutes early. We arrived at 1:40 and they sent us away and said come back at 2. Also the air conditioning didn't work and our room was very hot and uncomfortable. Did not enjoy this stay.
Review 21:Room was clean
Review 22:Too hot in the room - like always during the winter time.
Review 23:As usually: good breakfast, comfortable room, perfect localisation close to the metro station. Proffesional staff.
Review 24:The walls seemed to be a little bit too thin as I could hear my neighbors and also there was a bad smell in the bathroom but nothing terrible though
Review 25:Very nice room, especially for the price and the food was excellent
Review 26:Excellent Location, just 3 minutes walk away from Partizanskaja metro station, literally 15 minutes ride by metro to centrr and only 6 minutes walk from Izmailovsko market (recommend to visit this fairytale place that is opened on weekends only, lots of great artwork, souveniers, old and used staff...) :) Hotel is part of Best Western Plus complex of hotels that are looking to each other, prices in hotel very affordable, very close to small supermarkets, one larger shopping outlet center, and hotel is close to Burger King, Subway and KFC! Even it is reasonable price to use Taxi to drive you to Demededovo airport, that can be arranged by hotel staff!
Review 27:Leave it all
Review 28:Being a 4star hotel, there have not facilities like as have 4 star, roud behaviour of reception staff they always required registration card along with room key, what the hell on going there
Review 29:Bed was too soft! WiFi dropped in and out at times.
Review 30:Friendliness of staff. Front office and concierge all had very good English. Breakfast was also quite good even at a relatively late time. Close to the metro and easy to find from the station.
Review 31:Ridiculas my long time to check in due to large groups checking in. Poor quality bedroom, 3 star tops. Wifi didn't work in the room. Room had not been hoovered from previous guest. Stayed in room 1912 on 5/9
Review 32:Hotel itself is very modern. Facilities very good, almost 5* like.
Review 33:Lobby doesn't look like a hotel - more like a guest house... Full of group 'check in's while individual guests feel really lost and pissed. Baggage storage is only free of charge for 6 hours. The first hotel that I've paid for the baggage storage (2 bags at 300 RUB total). Definitely not going back.
Review 34:Nothing really. Won't go back.
Review 35:I was encouraged to pre-pay for breakfasts after I had paid for one, so I paid for 17 because I didn't know if my husband (who was in hospital, in Moscow) could join me some mornings. - I also explained that I was coming back to the hotel after a weeks break so could have dime breakfasts then. They changed the location of the breakfasts - I went back but discovered the seating was too low for my bad back plus I'd have to share a table so I asked for a credit for unused breakfasts. They would only agree to 3 for my last 3 days & later only two as I was flying out on the 3rd day (guests do have breakfasts on checkout day!) yet I was coming back to stay for three more nights! It kept a bad taste in my mouth losing so much, when I was just aiming to plan ahead. The staff did truly try to help but the manager refused.
Review 36:Felt safe and enjoyed Location - great A La Carte restaurant in hotel. Tourist shops were well-priced.
Review 37:at the breakfast time one of the stuff lady asked us to move from one table to other while we eat breakfast. It was so rude , in the way we was asked to moved. It was a bad experience.
Review 38:Wi-Fi works very badly in my room, but outside the room was ok. One day the floor of our room hadn't been cleaned. The cleaning staff arrived at 19.00 for cleaning, we asked them to come back after 30 minutes because we were having a shower but they didn't actually come back. However it happens only once.
Review 39:Good location, near Metro. Restaurant and market a few meters from the hotel. 15 minutes in metro to the red square. Good price for a four star hotel in Moscow.
Review 40:Very tired and not particularly clean hotel. Not more than 3 stars. Poor selection of food for both dinner and breakfast (no yogurts!). Staff is ok.
Review 41:close to the station.
Review 42:Would have been better if anyone spoke English as my Russian is limited.
Review 43:Good hotel for the price, out of the city centre but the Metro is a 3 minute walk which is very easy to get to and get around.
Review 44:There is some construction going on at the railway close to the hotel, so at night it is better to keep the window closed. But with the air conditioning it is no problem.
Review 45:Location is very good, a few minutes away from metro that can take you everywhere you want to be in Moscow, fast and cheap. It is more modern looking then Vega hotel. The buffet is also better. People who complain about the groups of tourists staying in such a big hotel, should book a smaller hotel. How else can they fill the hotel? Anyway, I'll be back here.
Review 46:indeed did not see during my short stay any negative sides ..hehehe .. Is it a must to give any negative points if i did not face any ?!! .. True it is not very central but so close to Metro station where u can go anywhere .
Review 47:Proffesional service , excellent breakfast , cleanliness everywhere and comfort room , WF everywhere , good english speaking staff, Excellent despite moderate price .
Review 48:Some of the staff are ignorant and rude and they don't know how to behave. In fact they really need to be trained. After arrival they didn't checked us in because it was earlier than 2 p.m. (It was about noon) even they had rooms available and I had written an email considering that matter before! It was really irritating, specially after a long flight.
Review 49:Location is good, close to a metro station. Breakfast is diverse and delicious. The room is clean and comfortable. Lots of shops and restaurants around.
Review 50:Unless you want to park on a street (...no, you don't) the only option is private parking for 450 RUB / day. Also the hotel served breakfast seemed rather expensive at 600 RUB / person / day.
Review 51:Really nice hotel not far from downtown Moscow offering very reasonable prices. Nice, spacious and comfortable rooms with a nice view of Moscow. I must admin that the staff was nice and helpful which is not so common with international hotel chains. Free water and tea provided were nice.
Review 52:The Dining Room was a long expedition from your rooms! Down lifts, along corridors and up stairs...I guess it was another hotel added on. Infact, I think the 4 skyscraper block hotels here were maybe originally accommodation built for the Olympics.
Review 53:Good Situation, out of the city but very close to efficient metro system (amazing old Communist statues and architecture underground). Buy a book of tickets from the machine, one ticket takes you one journey, no matter how far. At weekends there is a huge Handicrafts and Antiques Flea Market in a Disneyland complex next door to the Hotel, great for a whole days exploration. I wish I had bought more, prices were good for woodcarvings, embroidery etc...
Review 54:Location is very good, It is very close to the subway station and 15 minutes away from the city centre. Our room was big enough and it was very clean. Free wi-fi connection is available and it works very good. We really enjoyed our stay here and I would recommned it in case you prefer staying a little bit outside of the centre.
Review 55:Nothing.
Review 56:Everything was profesional and relaxing.Personal was so kind and helpfull, room very clear and the private stay was guaranted. There was very easy trafic conection to the Moskow centar end airport Vnukovo.
Review 57:the breakfast!, .. runny, undercooked eggs that may have made ill!, heavily sugared oatmeal, [if i had wanted them sugared, i could have done it myself!], so much of what we took to eat, ... was inedible!, to the extent that we were still hungry after the breakfast!, ... as i said, great place to stay, but do not eat here!, ... maybe lunch or supper was okay, i do not know.
Review 58:convenient location [few minutes walk to the subway], very nice room!, great value for the price, ....spotlessly clean, comfortable & relatively quiet. seriously, except for the breakfast it was a very nice experience!
Review 61:- wi-fi in the room: it was the worse I had in 15 days travelling around Poland and Russia! - In a more than 1.000 rooms hotel, I was not allowed to have a late check-out! They wanted to charge me one more hour! - I arrived at 10:30 and I had to wait until 12:30 to have a room because reception informed me that "they were cleaning the room"..... -poor breakfast for the price (600 russian rubles)!
Review 62:comfortable rooms
Review 63:They were very slow to bring items in breakfast buffet once they were finished rather they would wait for more and more people to leave restaurant area.
Review 64:Location
Review 65:The staff were generally quite rude and unhelpful, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and you have to get the metro to go anywhere
Review 66:It was cheap, and the room was a reasonable size. Quite near the metro for access into town
Review 67:A bit crowded at breakfast , so plan it after 9am in case you can
Review 68:A very cosy stay with feathures of a 4star hotel any in Europe, nice service and conditions
Review 69:Only Internet was not stable for my business laptop.
Review 70:Location was fantastic, lots of restaurants are very nearby (Halal restaurant for islamic food) big park was very near as well and gifts place is 5 min walking, Also business centre was very good.
Review 71:I had no bad experiences dealing with the best Western .
Review 72:The fact that staff spoke English and were able to help you . They also could explain the metro where the stations were what stations to go to get to Red Square . What other tourist sites were available to see .
Review 73:The ladies at the entrance to the breakfast area two times made us confused by screaming to us something we could not understand.
Review 74:Everything was very good: rooms, breakfast, location. Free drinking water and good beds. Perfect value for money.
Review 75:The lady in the exchange office is very very Rude-No fitness center as stated in Hotel(Under construction)-Poor service The staff are not very Helpful they delegate and divide tasks between each others-You need always to swipe your room card to enter the rooms Hall.
Review 76:Excellent Breakfast-Acceptable Location Near Metro Petroviskaya Izmailovo-Good Facilities-Highy recommended
Review 77:Wi-Fi worked ok, on one instrument, connection poor, dropped lots, but my tablet worked ok. Did email with my tablet, posted to Facebook ok.
Review 78:Beautiful hotel, great staff. Moscow is a very interesting city. Hotel has comfortable rooms. Great value to stay there. Great city with much to see, mix of very old and new. Every day much to see.
Review 79:Nothing :)
Review 80:Excellent hotel with all you want nearby , lot of cafes , beautiful castle , beautiful lake and lot more.Normally I will go to hotels with lot of expectation and end up with disappointment. But this is one hotel , I went without any expectation and it fulfilled all my expectations. Sad, I couldn't stay longer.Defenitely I will stay again and recommend to others as well.
Review 81:First room wasn't clean and smelled like urine. No organization with the tour groups and the dining hall -- just pushing and shoving.
Review 82:Great weather
Review 83:Deluxe room is a reap-off, have no idea what I paid for. Breakfast is so crowded with chinese tourists that you can hardly actually eat, takes forever to find an empty table and order fried eggs. Hotel made a mistake charging me for the stay, they charged the credit card I provided on booking even when the booking was "pay at the check-in".
Review 84:Close to subway, clean bathroom and towels.
Review 85:The hotel had a very communist style, asking from you before the entrance to the elevator the card and paper on wich it was written the name of the room. The window curtain was pretty small and couldn't cover well so it bothered me every morning - the sunsire it at 04:30.
Review 86:The hotel was very close to the metro station.
Review 87:Good location, near metro station, 15-20 minutes to the Red Square, excellent Wi-Fi, good and varied breakfast, clean room and bathroom. I have been at the hotel three times and next time I will stay again.
Review 88:Some large travel groups arrived, These were rude and basically took over the reception area. They chose not to understand "excuse me" including signs and body language, and in fact felt driving over or into you with their suitcases was acceptable.
Review 89:clean well equipped hotel. About 20 minute walk and Metro to Red Square. Staff were helpful
Review 90:There are many small eating places around but only Subway is open before 10am.
Review 91:Good value for the price, very close to the line 3 (the main line in Moscow) subway station.
Review 92:---- for the staff. During check in we felt they were somehow confused. We got our room but after all, strange... a bit.
Review 93:all in all everything was fine, except ----
Review 94:The only limitation Is the language. Most of the Russians we've met don't know English. Although there were people at the hotel who spoke English fluently, most of them, couldn't utter a word in English. Although it's true for most Moscow in a hotel it's a must to understand the needs of guests.
Review 95:Since we came to tour Moscow and not to rest there, the hotel is beyond the dreams of any tourist. Clear, we'll be there again next time (and there will be next time). The stuff members were really good people and did all they could to assist guests although the language barrier limitations.
Review 96:The dead bolt malfunctioned three days before I left and was not repaired in spite of the promiss that it would be fixed. It's true that I was offered to move to another room but I was lazy to do so.
Review 97:Closeness to the center of Moscow...closeness to the metro station.
Review 98:1. Non-smoking room but smell smoking all the time. Should have air freshener. 2. Poor breakfast. 3. Poor blanket. 4. Provided a small heater but no pipeline heater.
Review 99:Location.
Review 100:Weak WiFi in the rooms but no problem in the general areas.
Review 101:As always a very nice experience, I would recommend this hotel. I stay often and it's always a pleasure to come back and I look forward to the next time.
Review 102:The bathroom floor was about an inch lower than the floor in the room itself. Not unusual in a Russian home, but hard for this American to get used to.
Review 103:A "full Russian breakfast" was incredible!!! So many things to choose from that I lingered over coffee, went back to the buffet, and skipped lunch. Also, the staff training for customer service must have been extensive - Other big hotels (Kosmos) in Moscow still have the "stay here, or don't stay here. Suit yourself" kind of Soviet-style customer service attitude. But Vega's customer service was really really good. I've stayed in all the Greek alphabet hotels near metro Partizanskaya (Gamma, Delta, etc) and this is my favorite by far.
Review 104:Stayed here several times. As usually all is good. Still 2 min work to metro station. Price was very good compare to other hotels that increased much more after RUR devaluation. Wi-fi is free and good enough for work.
Review 105:Staff is friendly and corrects errors in booking immediately, seniorstaff speaks excellent English and even listens to guests dabblings inthe Russian language. The Hotel is spotlessly clean and the food ishealthy and well prepared, even room service excels in friendliness andthe floor lady brings back a perfectly cleaned pair of shoes for free. Ihave found my Moscow Hotel of preference.
Review 106:English speaking & helpful staff Free wi-fi Close to metro station partizanskaya - 3 mins walking distance Free toiletries (dental, shave, etc...) Free luggage room for 6 hours after check-out
Review 107:Quite a long drive out from the centre... but the centre was easy to access by Metro.
Review 108:Near to the park and Metro plus plenty to do in the area Plenty of variety in the hotel and souvenirs very reasonably priced.
Review 109:Avoid the hotel restaurant and use the nearby facilities.
Review 110:The local Kremlin [market] looks like a theme park but has lots of very inexpensive items for sale. There is a 24 hour shopping centre 5 minutes away which is good value for food and and most other things. The metro is less than 5 minutes away.
Review 111:Lots of restraunts nearby. Most are just OK.But its easy to get into town for the best.
Review 112:The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The location works out well. metro runs every two to three minutes late into the night.
Review 113:Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, but other staff members were cold and official. The lobby could certainly use a little updating, and the 24 muzak throughout public places in the hotel is a bit annoying. However, this is all somewhat normal in eastern Europe.
Review 114:Vega is very close to the blue line of the metro, which made getting into the heart of Moscow very easy and relatively efficient. Vega has a lot of amenities, and good lobby security, so you will feel safe staying here. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spacious. The free drinking water was a major plus.
Review 115:Cleanliness of the room was not ideal. The non-smoking room smelled cigarettes and we found a bottle full of smoked cigarettes behind a table. This is big in-out hotel. Seeing the clintelle of the hotel (very mixed - from high end to low end), I was not 100% sure about the hygiene standard.
Review 116:Location is convenient - 5min walking to metro station and 15min. direct-line ride to the city centre (which is a SHORT distance for Moscow!). Tea making facility and a refrigerator in the room + drinking water on the corridor were very useful. Very good value for money. Good for short stays.
Review 117:Izmailovo is a very noisy part of the city. If you want something quiet look at other options. I lived almost on the top floor but it was very noisy even at night.
Review 118:Very good location, literally 5 mins from the metro station. Ironing rooms.
Review 119:They are very concerned about how to make us feel better all the time, they look after all departments, services and people to offer the best to the guest.. Congrats!!
Review 120:The housekipping did not supply freeTea & Coffe bags.
Review 121:We celebrated 46 Aniversary & the hotel was very kind to send to our room a bottle of wine & a piece of cake.
Review 122:They took extra money for breakfast which was included in our reservation. The hotel pictures are totally different from reality. Personnel except reception cant understand English.
Review 123:Clean.
Review 124:1. Internet (Wi-Fi) is very bad. Who needs internet connection for business he mustn't take this hotel at all. 2. Parking guys are very complicated and you need lots of documents to show them
Review 125:1. Breakfast is good 2. Gym is very huge and good
Review 126:1. Internet is very very bad, It happens often that does not work at all. This is really unacceptable for any hotel
Review 127:1. Breakfast is very tasty and there are lots of food to select 2. Gym is available and free of charge 3. Stuff who work in restaurant are very polite
Review 128:1. Internet connection (Wi-Fi) in some rooms are very bed, even it does not work at all every 2 minutes. This is really unrespectable and hotel needs to fix this as soon as possible.
Review 129:1. Breakfast is very good and tasty 2. Stuff who work in restaurant where breakfast is served are very polite 3. Gym is available and free of charge 4. Rooms are very comfortable and cleanness
Review 130:Pleasant staying at the hotel; as a Muslim I thought I’m going to have a vegetarian option throughout my stay at this hotel; however I was surprised to find four qualities restaurants surrounding the hotel. The staff are very nice and ready to answer any question! Thanks and I will surely come again!
Review 131:My bed. It's supposed to be a cuple bed (big one) but it was 2 small togheter in one , separated in the middle. They have a Green plan for guest to decide about clean the sheets and towels, I want to keep them because we stay just 2 days. Anyway they clean both. I think it is not neccesary and if they ask the service should respect the guest decision.
Review 132:Breakfast is great. Location great too. Well connected and close to main atractions.
Review 133:Wi-fi is quite weak in the rooms, this is my only negative comment
Review 134:I often stay at this hotel and I like the location and friendliness of the staff. Well done, it is a very pleasant experience staying with you, I look forward to my next visit.
Review 135:Everything was good
Review 136:Moscow is a beautiful charming city. The blue metro line goes through main location attractions and this hotel is on this same line. Also easy to get to from thw airport via express train and then 2 changes on metro. Facilities good near to hotel and market on a Saturday was something special to see .
Review 137:The television in the room only had 3 English channels; I guess I thought there would be more.
Review 138:I arrived in Moscow in the middle of winter and was greeted with smiles and amazing service at this hotel. Firstly, the location is perfect, it's walking distance from the Metro Station, there are convenience stores, restaurants and small eateries right outside the hotel, so you can get your juice, fruits and almost everything you would need from these shops. The hotels has great services - maps and all the info you'd need to know about the City, which was provided to me at the front desk. The lobby has an ATM, shops selling touristy stuff, and the hotel also has a sauna and gym. I loved the room, it was comfy; the sheets were so soft, warm, there's a fridge and the bathroom is pretty well-equipped and it was not too small or crowded. The robe provided was great, as well as the room service, which was generally quick. The highlight was the staff - I was checked-in by a sweet receptionist, Guzal, who was exceptionally friendly, we talked for quite a while, and I was given Champagne and Chocolates, compliments of the hotel. It was the best welcome I had in Moscow! She was personable, extremely professional and it was great to see a friendly face and speak English, since I had been traveling for the last few weeks in non-English speaking countries. I also spoke to another receptionist, a very cool and smart guy, whose name I can't rememver, unfortunately, but we had a great discussion about Russia and Moscow and he was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was pretty okay, wide selection.
The Fine Print
Please note that all Russian residents have to show their internal passport at check-in, and all foreigners are required to show their ID, passport, migration card and visa.
