Reviews for Baia da Barca

Review 1:The furniture are a bit outdated and the breakfast can be improved (natural orange juice for instance)

Review 2:Fantastic view in front of the ocen and very friendly staff. Very nice swimming pool as well

Review 3:I think they mop, but don't vacuum, the floors. Also, orientation to the property and town could have been a little more in depth.

Review 4:Beautiful property, buildings, view, and good location to center of town.

Review 5:The site where this set of apartments is located is a previous brownfield site so surroundings are a bit derelict and lacking in charm.

Review 6:This apartment was very comfortable spacious and clean. The site was beautifully kept and the swimming pool looked very inviting A very clever attempt at creating a fashionable set of holiday apartments

Review 7:We were there in April, the weather was not that warm yet, and as there is no heating in the flat (except in the bedroom), it was a bit cold and humid in the evening

Review 8:Quiet flat, at a short walking distance from the village centre. Good-sized flat, big bathroom, and amazing ocean views, (provided you book an ocean side flat). There are small 'pic-nic' tables if your flat does not overlook the ocean. Clean swimming pool.

Review 9:Very well kept, nice quiet location by the sea just out of town. Helpful staff and very kind to leave breakfast in room for early departures.

Review 10:A few more kitchen supplies would have been preferred.

Review 11:The relaxing, clean & comfortable setting.

Review 12:10 to 15 minute walk from town centre

Review 13:Roomy apartments next to the sea, pool and hot tub

Review 14:The remark that Eric made is pitiful. This unit was build for peoplethat support the sustainable tourism, that enjoy their space andprivacy, not for those who wish only their personal satisfaction at allcost, that have no respect for the environment or for the futuregenerations.

Review 15:This tourist complex gave me an excelent example of the benefits thatthe sustainable practices can give us.The breakfast leftovers (that asplenty of variety-eggs, bacon, sausages, Pico jam and honey, 3 types ofbread, sliced cheese and cheese cream, yogurts, fruit, cereals, coffee, juice, milk, etc) doesn´t go to waste , it is used to feed domesticanimals, which doesn't happen in big units that have breakfast withtoo waste. The water of the pool comes directly from the ocean, thusavoiding the waste of drinking water, that is a scarce good. The changeand wash of the towels is made if solicited, showing us the care thatthey have towards the environment. The service is excellent and madeevery day, and this wouldn't even have to be necessary. We wereindeed in an apartment that is very spacious and had views that areunique in Azores. This unit is located only a few meters from the sea,in a dream place, well framed into the landscape. It made my stay thebest ever in the archipelago, giving me an experience that I highlyrecommend and that I consider being in the same level of the other onesthat I've stayed in around the world and that promote a sustainabledevelopment.

Review 16:The room is not daily-cleaned. The reception is often closed.

Review 17:Very spacious appartment. Lovely swimming pool. There is also a sauna and jacuzzi (you need to ask the reception). Pico Island is great

Review 18:This hotel is the worst experience I have ever had in this price category ! The staff is absolutely under qualified. The breakfast is horrible, almost no choice, only scrambled eggs that are completely dried out, much to salty, a bowl of tin canned fruit, lemonade instead of juice and the worst coffee kept warm for hours. Every day exactly the same cheese (1 type only), only 1 type of bread + something they call croissants but that taste so horrible that guests only eat them the first morning, etc, etc. Every day you have to ask the staff to refill things, they never see anything for themselves. The cleaning of the rooms is also very poor. In the evening you still find the dried version of your toothpaste in the bathroom sink you left there in the morning, used towels taken away but not replaced and after 6pm there is no staff left in the hotel to ask for new ones. To our surprise, the swimming pool was filled with salt water. What I don't understand is that the owners must have put a lot of money in a beautiful building on an amazing location and then economize on everything that makes a stay pleasant. So unless you don't eat breakfast and you don't mind cleaning the bathroom yourself while paying 180€ per night, I strongly advice against this hotel.

Review 19:Only the building and the location are OK

Review 20:The web-site of the hotel. It doesn't give the idea of the location, the beautiful swimming pool and spa services.

Review 21:The location was beautiful directly in front of the ocean The cleanliness of the room The swimming pool

Review 22:Walk from location into town with no paving and not prettiest route Reception closing at 5 so you couldn't get key to spa in evening or on Sunday

Review 23:Location by the sea with great views Easy access and use of sauna, spa and pool Staff were very helpful Comfortable and well appointed

Review 24:There wasn't any coffee making tool available in the apartment. Not a big deal but would have been nice.

Review 25:The apartments are big, light, comfortable and very nice. Loved the view, as well as the pool.

Review 26:A bit expensive. It would be nice to have a reception working all day. It's also a bit strange to have a reception clerk on arrival that doesnot speak Portuguese, being that the Azores are part of the Portugueseterritory where Portuguese is, I believe, the official language.

Review 27:Excellent view by the sea. Peaceful and relaxing. Friendly andaccomodating staff.

Review 28:Perhaps I'd like to have an additional bathroom, as only one bathtub for2 rooms + any extra beds is too little.

Review 29:Perfect both as a base to explore this and nearby islands and to spenda quiet long time next to the sea. Excellent location near Madalenaand not too distant from São Roque, from where you can get boats tothe Faial and São Jorge islands. The setting of the hotel in Pico isgreat itself.

Review 30:The hotell was a bit wet so it was difficult to get the clodes dry. Theventilation could be better.

Review 31:It was a very good visit, lovely view from the hotellroom over the see.It was very good breakfast and kindnes/family attityd from the staff. You have a good class of the hotell and a family atomsfair - a goodcombination.
