Reviews for Pine Cliffs Resort

Review 1:Townhouses needed 1-2 days to heat up (very cold floors) Baby cod not prepared though asked for upfront

Review 2:Great location Neat garden Helpful concierge Fabulous Porto Piratas supervision

Review 3:Cannot recommend the town houses which we had originally booked. Was very dark, cramped and had too many stairs! Very unfortunate layout. Happily we moved to hotel after first night.

Review 4:The sea view rooms in the hotel and the stunning cliff top location.

Review 5:No free wi-gi which I would have thought a hotel of this calibrate at the price they could throw that in.

Review 6:Very convenient, good selection of restaurants outside complex. Beautiful surrounds. Beach fantastic.

Review 7:Some complimentary coffee & tea an water would make arrival better I received a voucher for a complimentary gift to be claimed at concierge's desk. It turned out to be a way to make you come and accept an invite for a property sells presentation, and the complimentary gift was a jar of honey, one of those u have at breakfast buffet. Honestly, I found it a bit offensive, not a big deal, but did not like it at all

Review 8:Facilities where much better than we expected, restaurants were very good. Staff was generally good with few exceptions. Room service was excellent, food and service wise

Review 9:None of the outdoor pools are heated and in mid October- despite the sunshine meaning it was hot enough to lie on a lounger in swimwear - they were essentially too cold for a toddler to venture into even the little shallow pools in the kids bit so were unusable. Also the food and drink available in any place in the resort, inc the beach cafe, felt incredibly overpriced, eg 18€ for a burger, 5€ for a small latte 9€ for kids fish fingers..

Review 10:The resort was very well maintained, beautiful and imlaculate. Our townhouse accommodation was great, spacious and modern but still had charm! You took a lift down to a stunning beach, the resort didn't feel crowded and all the staff spoke English.

Review 11:The restaurants onsite were expensive. We had to pay extra for wifi in our room. The furniture in the townhouse was not very comfortable.

Review 12:We stayed in a townhouse right next to the hotel which had a kitchen and two bedrooms and the space was very nice. The beach adjacent to the property was beautiful and the hotel facilities were very nice and convenient.

Review 13:> We had a nice self-catering townhouse - but it was on the main road which runs through the resort used by a lot of internal traffic as well as external delivery people, buses and other guests; our terrace (for breakfast and evening tipple) faced that road which wasn't pleasant. We asked to change but it wasn't possible - height of season, no availability which matched our stay, etc. I'm guessing that booking with booking.com comes with some disadvantages! My suggestions to reduce noise from the road: higher speed-bumps to slow down traffic and replace all resort vehicles with electric vehicles.Even the full-sized coach passed out the 5-carraige mini-train on a bend in front of our townhouse - crazy maneuver especially when you consider that kids/parents cycle and walk that road all times of the day. > Paying for wifi - please, in this day and age that should be a 'given'; luckily I was able to present my Sheraton card and get it free for 6 devices for the week! > Hotel should have contacted us to provide us with a helpful list of items that might be needed during a self-catering stay. > Hotel/Resort personnel are extremely friendly and cooperative but demonstrate little personal initiative to sort problems out; and all want to help you at once - which is nice, except that they are ALL also helping three other people at the same time. > No obvious plan to handle recycling of paper, glass and plastics - especially in self-catering set-up, a family of fice generates a lot of items that could be recycled. > Missing a bluetooth music device and a nespresso machine, for example.

Review 14:> Access to the Beach - just great! > Pools - deep pool close to the gardens. > Layout of the complex.

Review 15:Not as well organised as places like Center Parcs. For example, couldn't find apartment check-in: security guard sent us in wrong direction & it took us a while to realise we needed to go to the hotel reception. Not many sports activities for teenagers. Games room is dated and table tennis balls were not available.

Review 16:Friendly staff who speak excellent English. Modern, spacious and clean apartment. Lush well maintained grounds. Great location next to long sandy beach. Cool relaxing area under pine trees. Good selection of restaurants with excellent food.

Review 17:Is my fifth time at this hotel and I keep comimg back because I love it. But this year the hotel was being renovated and all the faciities from the hotel were closed (pool, gym, indoor pool, restaurants, etc.) The lawn under the pine trees were I used to spend my afternoon was also closed. Also, this year the cleanliness from the apartment was not as it should.

Review 18:Location The townhouse where we stayed is very good.

Review 19:A small selection of complimentary coffee style start up selection bits and some general cleaning equipment for kitchen area.

Review 20:The maid service. Generous size of rooms.Towel service and loungers for the beach and finally the beach restaurant area.

Review 21:The self catering apartment was dirty, smelly and basically worn out....not a 5* facility as purported. The position of the apartment was close to the hotel (it was closed) and a 20 min walk from the alternate facilities. The WiFi was not available in our apartment. Silverfish everywhere.....Shall I go on....

Review 22:The setting is fabulous and the staff great

Review 23:The exterior pools are very cold and none is warmed up. Even the kids said the water was too cold for them. We had to pay for the internet and was not wifi but cable internet. I had to set the alarm on the last day because the check out is at 10. Late check out was a favor: we were allowed to leave at 11! There are some closed roads in the property so we had to get into the car to get to the breakfast place. It takes 15 minutes to get into the beach. There is only one sofa in the house which is not enough for a family.

Review 24:The townhouses are big and with lots of equipment. The place is very quiet and beautiful. We had breakfast with a view to the golf club.

Review 25:Breakfast not included Construction works in the main building

Review 26:Spacious and well equiped apartments, very nice friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness, gardens/golf course, beach and swimming pools facilities. Although check out time is very early (10h) they let us use the hotel facilities all day long.

Review 27:Hired a car thru pine cliffs & hand back wasn't handled well. Golf Staff not so helpful Biggest disappointment was that the Sheraton hotel was closed down for refurbishment & this was not mentioned at any time during the booking of this holiday.

Review 28:Bar staff - very good

Review 29:No WiFi in appartments Only wire, without own router not useful for IPad. Mentioned this to guest so they can take their own router with them

Review 30:Very friendly staff

Review 31:Wifi is paid (except in reception).

Review 32:This was the perfect get-away-from-it-all retreat. Beautiful grounds lead down to a stunning beach - great for walking or just sitting and taking in the views. When you've finished, you can retreat to the very comfortable apartment, which was very quiet and peaceful.

Review 33:Restaurants to have slightly more choice as some resturants duplicate meals. Could do with a nice outside bar with music. Also cjikdrrns arcade couldn't use as change machine out of use, and could not get change from bar, reception, the deli and restaurants which seemed a waste of opening if could not provide a service.

Review 34:Boys loved tennis, driving range, golf and swimming. Loved the beach and restaurant on beach. Accommodation was excellent and very clean, cleaner was very friendly and did fantastic job of cleaning our apartment.

Review 35:The food, room, staff.....the whole LOT.

Review 36:The Internet charge

Review 37:The location

Review 38:Room are very old, need re vamp!!!

Review 39:Good position.

Review 40:Very good resort. Excellent location and facilities.

Review 41:Not cheap

Review 42:Very nice location staff facilitis

Review 43:Tea and coffee in the room would have been nice

Review 44:Luxurious accommodation and perfect location

Review 45:Furniture a little dated in the living rioom

Review 46:Beach was amazing and never felt busy

Review 47:Amazing resort - loved everything about the stay

Review 48:Confort Nice staff and Joao at the front office is the man Golf sun pool ocean beach

Review 49:Apartment had absolutely everything one could possibly need. Service was absolutely top-class

Review 50:wi-fi

Review 51:everything! Condition of the residence and staffs are all great.

Review 52:The staff often had a bad attitude and not what I would expect from a 5 star resort.

Review 53:Beach, Pools and restaurants.

Review 54:I have been to this resort with my family for the last 10 years. One of the best in Europe.

Review 55:Was at Pine Cliffs to attend a wedding and could not find fault with any aspect of the hotel

Review 56:There is nothing not to like!

Review 57:Fabulous location and venue. Excellent facilities Immaculate throughout Excellent weather Great food Amazing golf course Short transfer from airport Helpful staff

Review 58:Feels corporate - but it is run by Sheraton. food and drinks in the resort were expensive - London prices.

Review 59:Close to the beach and walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants etc. also, 30 mins to Faro airport.

Review 60:We stayed in older apartments, which bathrooms should be renewed to meet 5* standard (I know they have other blocks with renewed appartments). Only cable internet in room and the cable was too short so had to use laptop while standing. I can accept the price for internet but that should allow several devices as it would be really expensive to buy a pass for each device, while logging out takes some time so using one pass for several devices is not that smooth.

Review 61:The territory, facilities, views are superb. Internet payable but very reliable and fast. Beach resto/bar has very tasty cuisine, including fresh fish. Though overall expensive all restaurants have special menu for kids (even with some healthy choices) with much friendlier prices.

Review 62:we ate on our final evening at the on site chicken piri piri restaurant and complained about the bbq ribs but nothing was done about it, also some of the prices on sire are expensive

Review 63:The resort itself is excellent, with a fabulous beach and some good restaurants and plenty of swimming pools, all the staff were very helpful.

Review 64:Very expensive to eat/drink in the resort, they charged for a phonecall that was not completed

Review 65:The resort was beautiful, the scenery was amazing, located very close toboth villamoura and albuferia, the pools and the beach were excellent

Review 66:We were in town house B62, where the patio faced straight on the road, at a junction, There was constant noise from the 'train', resort traffic, mowing equipment. Really disappointing as it marred what was otherwise a great holiday.

Review 67:Service and cleanliness of the townhouse

Review 68:was quite a busy resort and no golf buggy service to help me get around. the loungers on the grass gave it a feel of a retirement home

Review 69:service, food, pools and beach and golf

Review 70:All the restaurants/cafes/bars were very expensive. There was no way to eat a simple, reasonably priced meal/snack within the resort. The bathrooms in our townhouse were a little tired and dated, particularly the showers, which were over baths instead of walkin units

Review 71:'everything' was available

Review 72:Information given when we checked in could have been better re the facilities available and their location - it is a very large resort. Luckily we got a lot of guidance from others staying there who had visited many times before. Quite a long walk to the beach. Could have been advised to book the children's club ahead before arrival as it was full the whole week. However, the children didn't really need it as there was plenty to keep them happy.

Review 73:Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Apartment very well appointed. Resort maintained immaculately. Choice of swimming pools to suit all ages.

Review 74:- Expensive food and nothing too fancy (besides O'Grill restaurant)

Review 75:- Family friendly resort - Great kids club (Porto Pirata) - Very good tennis facilities and tennis coaches - Friendly staff - Nice golf

Review 76:The Algarve. Touristic and horrible. But the resort is somewhat isolated from it.

Review 77:Fabulous location on Falesia beach, unspoilt and gorgeous. Well-kept resort, albeit facilities seem a bit dated. Very friendly service.

Review 78:Wi-fi only available at reception. On site restaurants expensive.Services that are standard in other resorts are charged for for eg.In room wired internet, dvd player in room (useful to have iftravelling with children). Staff have no knowledge of things to doaround the resort.

Review 79:Beautiful resort. Excellent spa. Staff very friendly

Review 80:I expect WiFi to be available on a 5 star resort. Had to walk to theHotel reception every time I needed a connection. The last couple ofdays the hotel was closed which made it even worse.

Review 81:The appartment was nice and spacious and the cleaning was good.

Review 82:It was off-season, and we expected some of the facilities to be closed, but we were shocked to find that the entire Sheraton hotel, with allit's restarants and bars was closed. We were restricted to only onerestaurant which had a limited menu. We should have been advised of thisbeforehand.

Review 83:Beautiful resort, well maintained, good facilities. Staff weresuperb, super friendly and efficient, always willing to go out oftheir way to help.

Review 84:Due to time of year, not everything was open so restaurant choice was limited.

Review 85:Very good facilities. Accomodation excellent and staff helpful. Five star resort. Will come back!

Review 86:Internet is very expensive - but free wifi available in severalreception areas

Review 87:We went there for the Xmas and New Years break, so pricing was a lotlower than for the summer season. We found it a very good value formoney - an unforgettable experience. The location is superb (Faleciabeach is spectacular), and of course the sunshine + weatherStaff are very friendly and professional It was extremely convenient for being with a kid

Review 88:Could do with an indoor play area for young children in case of wet/ very hot weather.

Review 89:The staff were friendly and the facilities were of a high standard.

Review 90:Only 1 heated outdoor pool and others were cold! Watch out for extracharges - such as mini golf. Bread and olives are served with each mealwithout requesting them but they are not complimentary.Concierge unhelpful when requesting late check outs - even although we were willing to pay. Didn't have much information on activities outside of the complex.

Review 91:This was our 3rd stay at the resort over the past 6 years and wasanother great stay, food is excellant, not too busy and lovely, spaciousaccommodation.Facilities of the gym etc were good - we used the showers and lockers on departure day which were perfectly adequate.

Review 92:This resort has been opened for close to twenty years and myself and myfamily have been going there for quite a while. We have returned thisyear after several years and the quality standards are all there. Simplyone of the best places for family holidays in Portugal

Review 93:Rude and Arrogant reception Broken tiles in bathroom Broken Bath tub Nowater pressure when you flush or the other bathroom is used Drainblocked in one sink Was assigned unit furthes from the beach whileresort was nearly empty..I Booked Three months in advance Sidewalks withloose protruding stones, have to watch your step no problem solvingskills Poorly trained, umprofessional staff Ants in My unit Booked withbreakfast did not get it though it was advertised on their own tvchannel Ridiculously expensive no value for the Money this is not a 5star Need basic hospitality training

Review 94:Location, design layout

Review 95:Children's menu could be improved and varied and more healthy softdrinks could be offered. In the villas more toddler friendly cutlery andplates should be offered. Banging shutters on some properties were anissue so maids should check this on check out.

Review 96:Beautiful location, immaculate gardens and grounds and greatfacilities for toddlers and children. Whilst the resort is vast theareas are all well spaced and laid out and there is ample room torelax and enjoy a swim.

Review 97:The food and drink in the hotel was expensive.

Review 98:Very friendly staff and other holiday makers. Service was excellant. Great for kids. I would recommend the villa's and buy food from the supermarket outside the hotel. Variety of food but expensive.

Review 99:The internet, having to pay to use it, and even if you did pay the 10 euros a day you could not use it in the golf suite. Also drinks and Ice cream in the restaurants are expensive if you have children it is 3.50 a scoop for ice cream etc. and every child wants 2 scoops and if it is hot more than once a day. Food in the cafes are really good and I do not mind paying for that. The buffet is expensive for what it is. It would be good to be told whats going on in the hotel entertainment, special meals in the restaurants etc. There seems to be a lack of communication with the guests.

Review 100:Its location and beach. I enjoy walking to all the different areas around the resort. The athmosphere is very good. Most of the staff are friendly.

Review 101:If you are allocated town house 46B change it immediately. It is dirty and badly kept. The chairs were all stained, the garden furniture plastic and the garden shabby. The town houses are not owned by the hotel so it is a lottery. We asked to be moved and this was possible as the hotel was only 60% full but this will not be the case in high season. Another town house was immaculate but overall we didn't like the town houses as they were some distance from the facilities. We had a two bed golf suite and this was perfect. Make sure that you ring the hotel 3 days prior to departure to make sure that you get a good town house if you require the extra space. Golf suite blocks 2 and 3 are best. 1 is near the tennis courts, 5 is by the family pool so quite noisy.

Review 102:Pine cliffs is not too far from Faro airport ( but no plane noise) as long as you don't get lost! Portugal has poor road signs. Hotel is stunning and has every facility. Pools and restaurants are numerous and although the resort is large you never feel overcrowded with people, even at half term. The golf tuition is top class and although only a 9 hole course it is challenging in places and would suit all levels of play. Have already rebooked for next year.

Review 103:I think the beaches on the other side of Albuferia are nicer (Marhinha beach for example) with very interresting cliff and rock formations. At Pine cliff resort the beaches are not as nice, just cliff. While the townhouse we used was really nice the view was... on a road!!! I wish the indication of what view you have would be clearer on the web sites. We did not try any meal at the resort and I am glad because it would have been too pricy (it would have cost us 60euros for breakfast only!!!). I decided to play tennis with my son, the court is 18 euros for one hour which is four to six times more that what I can pay in downtown Paris, New-york or San-Francisco (and I lived in those cities)!!! including a 6 euros to rent the racket, I really felt robbed here for one hour tennis.

Review 104:Location is good and staff is helpuff and really nice and I really want to thank them here. We went there off season (april 2012) with two kids (9 and 7). We were staying in a townhouse which was really nice and well equiped. We had a car so we could just go shopping and have our meal in our town house which is far more economical than having our meal in the hotel. Facilities are nice, there was one outdoor pool heated (still cold though), an additional four pools non-heated (too cold for me too try but my kid did) and one indoor pool nicely heated. The beach is beautifull and well guarded.

Review 105:Expensive for drinks Bed in the apt - a2c very uncomfortable.

Review 106:Excellent quality, luxurious without being snobby. Family friendly but big enough that that isnt a problem if you don't have family. Very very relaxing, somewhere you can go and not need to venture out.

Review 107:Townhouses were dark [lack of natural light] and not equipped withcomfortable furniture. Whole ambience in these rooms was tired and more4 star than 5 star luxury. The cleaners did the bare minimum to keep thehouse tidy. No dressing gowns and I never had a respinse back on myrequest for one! The resort is too big to be comfortable in.

Review 108:Lovely setting and beautifully kept grounds. Staff at reception and inthe cafe were very helpful to all of us. Nice communal facilities andthe food was good.

Review 109:The indoor pool doesn't look nice and jacuzzi area is too small.

Review 110:The actual location on the cliffs is beautiful. The resort is in theSheraton hotel it is just that instead of a hotel room you get anapartment or a town house. You still have room service and all use ofthe hotel. Very spacious and a very pleasant place to stay. Excellentstaff and service which is what you would expect from a luxurycollection Sheraton.

Review 111:Everything was far above expectation form service to stay.

Review 112:The estate is so well maintained. Its tranquility and location on the cliffs above beach makes it the most desirable place to be. My 3rd visit and will make many more.

Review 113:The single bed was to small, the appartment needed some renovation.

Review 114:The view, we were upgraded to a larger appartment. The indoor swimmingpool. The beach, the garden. You can walk to some restaurants outside the resort.

Review 115:Nothing

Review 116:Everything especially the beautiful grounds and peaceful atmosphere every where in the resort

Review 117:Ants everywhere in accomadation

Review 118:Amazing views and very high quality grounds

Review 119:feeling of spaciousness

Review 120:Weather!

Review 121:Location, facilities

Review 122:Price of drinks and food so much so that we ate outside at night

Review 123:The surroundings The apartment The bar on the clifftop

Review 124:staff could have been more attentive , but a couple were very helpful

Review 125:the whole hotel was in a beautiful setting with excellent facillities

Review 126:Excellent football competition for children.

Review 127:Limited sign posts

Review 128:The apartments were spacious, clean and comfortable. The grounds are very well kept.

Review 129:Pay for kids club Too hard beds

Review 130:Facilities Food Landscaping beach Pools Gym Activities Apartments

Review 131:location and facilities

Review 132:On the pricy side.

Review 133:Location, sports facilities

Review 134:We went in the off-season, cheap rates but most restaurants & kids clubwas not open!

Review 135:Resort & staff were fantastic
