Reviews for Parkhotel Den Haag

Review 1:Parking place need to reserve, but there is a public one nearby. Not a big problem.

Review 2:Everything is perfect, friendly, helpful staff, big room, comfortable bed, good breakfast, nice location. We enjoyed our stay in Den Haag.

Review 3:- Some of the front desk staff could benefit from a bit more customer service training. While they were certainly friendly and pleasant, they were not as efficient nor demonstrated the professional confidence of the more mature staff person we dealt with on our last day.

Review 4:- The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to many visitor attractions. - The room was very comfortable, with a lovely view of the Royal Park. - The hotel seems well cared for, clean and well maintained.

Review 5:Fantastic stay, the room was large and well maintained. The staff is great from check-in to check-out. Room service was prompt and the food well prepared. The hotel in centrally located with many restaurants nearby. This is our second stay at the Park and I am sure we will be back!

Review 6:During the day the kitchen was closed so we had to go out-side for lunch. This was not really a problem with lots of alternatives in the same street, but we liked the soup so much the previous day that we were disappointed anyway.

Review 7:The room was beyond expectation. I traveled with my mother and the room was clean, spacious and had a balcony to the inner garden. Breakfast was wonderful with a variation in food in top quality

Review 8:Unfriendly receptionist at check-in. Average breakfast. Wrong information that was more than once provided by the front desk, staffed by trainees, who are supervised by permanent staff. When we were checking in, a giggling trainee at the reception ensured us that the breakfast was available from 7 a.m. Before leaving the hotel on the day of departure, we found out that it wasn't - during the Christmas holidays, the breakfast is served from 8 a.m. The receptionist we talked to when checking out told us that there should have been left some written information at our room, but seriously, why make it so difficult for the guests to get correct information? Why not to put it, for instance, visibly in the elevator and at the reception desk, and ensure that the staff, including trainees, know the opening hours?

Review 9:Very nice view from our room, which was big enough and quiet. Excellent location in a nice part of the Hague. The city itself and the people! :)

Review 10:... just don't get hungry during the night... nothing in the fridge, and nothing to get in the hotel. They should have snacks, chips, anything... but there is not...(sigh)

Review 11:Fine, fine hotel.

Review 12:This hotel is in a beautiful building in a very convenient location. You can walk there easily from the train station, and you can get from there to many of the most interesting sights of The Hague, such as the Mauritshuis art gallery. There are lots of nice restaurants in the locality. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The Internet access is great. Something I particularly appreciate is that the rooms are very quiet at nighttime, even though the hotel is in a busy part of town. I also liked the fact that I could see the tower of the Old Church from my bedroom window. Another time when I stayed, my room had a lovely view over the neighbouring park...

Review 13:Nothing really to mention here.

Review 14:Excellent location in the heart of the 'old town'. Good value for money. Friendly staff. And soon they will be completely refurbished!

Review 15:rooms seem to have a bit of wear and tear and the beds are rather narrow.

Review 16:top location, in the historic center. Friendly staff, clean and a good breakfast in a nice breakfast room.

Review 17:a litle bit uncomfortable bed (2 small beds put together and very soft), noizy condition and empty mini bar with no chance to get water when we need..

Review 18:The location is great. We had wonderful view from our room on the park near the hotel. the room is big, cozy and clean. Hetaing was working good.

Review 19:Almost everything else including stuff's attitude and service, loud ventilation system in rooms that will keep you awake and you can't turn it off, stains on a toilet seat (yes, disgusting). After my request to clean the room one more time (that was accepted), nothing changed. The trip was turned into a mess at some point because of the hotel. Room service stuff were preparing Caesar Salad for several hours (forgot about my order).

Review 20:Location

Review 21:this is one of those hotels where they have very old hair dryers that break all the time.. and cheap very soft beds that your back hurts in the morning...

Review 22:low price

Review 23:If you stay at the front of the hotel, facing the street, it can be noisy. The back is much quieter. The internet is free but very slow.

Review 24:I really enjoy the location, the helpfulness of the staff and the size and comfort of the rooms. And the breakfast is usually included in the cost of the room and is wonderful.

Review 25:No bad experience, but if you arrive by car, it is worth looking ahead at the nearby parking: there is one close.

Review 26:The room was beautiful and the hotel was architecturally interesting.

Review 27:The common areas are a bit outdated and the breakfast area was always a bit messy towards the end of the morning. Also there was a strange sewage smell in our room, we were offered to change rooms but didn't feel like moving all our luggage.

Review 28:Comfortable bed, nice room, great location and friendly staff. Beautiful garden too that could be exploited even better.

Review 29:It was unfortunate that the hotel began renovations during our stay. Also, the rooms are very small! I left the room once I was ready in the morning and waited in the lobby with a book while my husband got himself ready. There was no room for us both to move around comfortably.

Review 30:Great location.

Review 31:Nothing to dislike

Review 32:The location was great. In a really nice part of The Hague. Close to restaurants, shops and trams, although quite a walk to Central Station.

Review 33:Tiny room, single bed, no bath, no Tea/coffee making facilities detected, 113 euro incl tax ex breakfast is four star price, but not enough value for money, same quality as Easyjethotel for more than double the price.

Review 34:Location and 24 hr reception desk

Review 35:- The hotel needs some improvements. The carpet is really outdated - Bathroom rather old - Breakfast up to 11 means that staff starts cleaning at 10.45, we didn't feel welcome anymore

Review 36:- The location of the hotel is excellent - Staff at the reception was really friendly and helpful - Decent bed

Review 37:Room -No 43 in Garden wing was far too small. If wardrobe door was open you couldn't access bathroom. Have stayed here before and previous room was far superior although supposed to be the same room rate. No reduction in rate offered although refurbishment of ground floor was ongoing. Barman seemed reluctant to keep bar open beyond 11 pm

Review 38:'Double' bed was really two singles placed together - not unusual and normally perfectly acceptable. However, in this case, the two beds separate very/too easily - not ideal in the middle of the night!

Review 39:Position: close to excellent restaurants and shopping streets; easy walks to museums, etc; trams close by. Bedrooms very clean and well furnished. Excellent breakfast in a lovely dining room.

Review 40:View from the room was not great at the back, but it was a comfortable single room with a decent bathroom

Review 41:Location, friendly staff, very attentive, charming street, lots of cafes, restaurants and nightlife nearby, centre of the old town, parking garage 5 mins walk (Torenstraat)

Review 42:nothing

Review 43:The whole hotel. all the staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. The facilities in the room and throughout the hotel are excellent. Very good location for city centre shopping and attractions. On checkout, Marc at reception showed us photographs of future upgrades taking place.

Review 44:The system used for the wi-fi wasn't working properly and every time I had to re-connect through the system dozen of times within a short period to use my computer.

Review 45:The furniture was amazing and the staff has been very nice and useful. Plus it is very central in The Hague.

Review 46:I find the price of breakfast a bit excessive.

Review 47:Excellent Hotel in the Hague. I try to go to the Park Hotel every time I have to stay in The Hague and I am never disappointed. Excellent standard, client-oriented staff, very good location...

Review 48:Fridge in room noisy, switching itself on and off. Bar closed sharp by 11pm

Review 49:Very comfortable bed. Only 8 minutes walk to daily destination. Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants around. Good atmosphere in the area. Hotel staff helpful

Review 50:I was charged for a significant deposit even before I checked in, and this was only returned more than a week after I checked out. Not only this was annoying, but it was also not stated when I booked the room (the conditions were that I would pay during my stay). Besides, when I checked in, I was told that my rate did not include breakfast, and so I had breakfast at a cafe nearby during my stay. When I checked out, they told me the rate did include the breakfast and they refused to reimburse me, saying it was my choice not to have breakfast at the hotel. So, overall, the hotel is quite nice, but my personal experience was not good.

Review 51:The room was very nice, with a balcony overlooking the park in the back.

Review 52:the breakfast which costs 21 euros (as expensive as food in general in Den Haag) is very poor: no fresh juices and selection of food is quite limited... although you have a nice view on the park behind the hotel, might be a better idea to have breakfast in one of the nice cafes in the neighbourhood

Review 53:if you get a room for 70 Euros, you'll get excellent value for money, some rooms in the third floor have a small nice balcony with a nice view staff is very professional & helpful & friendly

Review 54:Stale smell in room and smell of smoke in lounge foyer area. TV didn't work (new system apparently but no apology )

Review 55:Location and newly refurbed bedroom and bathroom

Review 56:I didn't have breakfast because i think 21 EUR is too much for light eaters. Maybe the hotel can offer a non-buffet option for a third of the price.

Review 57:Once again I stayed in this hotel and like it, especially when I get the room that I like, facing the garden, since rooms facing the street tend to be loud. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the location is excellent. WiFi works great and double rooms are comfortable enough.

Review 58:reception staff at check-in were really rude. Both of the women. I asked for a quite room, they gave me a room with steet view. on my request to change the room they gave me exactly the same room just next door. When I told them the room was not any different from the first one - the reception girl got mad at me and raised her voice at me! So if you want to be shouted at - the hotel is perfect for you. It is a unique experience, actually.

Review 59:We did order the romantic package which meant a bottle of prosseco and chocolates delivered to our room. However we had to wait two nights for it to arrive as the reception team have to deliver it. This surely isn't the best idea as they have to deal with so many people on reception how can they ever guarantee delivery at all. In saying all of this the staff themselves and especially Rhianne went out of their way to make amends even providing a complimentary bottle of wine and a card of apology in our room. They managed to turn some quite frustrated guests into loyal fans. Huge thanks to Rhianne.

Review 60:The location was perfect so close to the galleries and binenhof. Amazing places to eat right on the doorstep

Review 61:I really cannot say anything. Maybe the parking garage is somewhat narrow.

Review 62:Room is clean and very beautiful. Bet is comfortable. The place is silent and having a beautiful garden, where the guests can relax and drink a free tea or coffee, for example.

Review 63:Our room had a balcony, this was also accessable by an emergency exit door. So people came in the night smoking there. There fags we're lying around on the balcony. This is not the fault from the hotel itself, but i would put a sign that would not allowed to smoke on that balcony.

Review 64:The staff was very helpfull and friendly, nice big room and spacious bathroom. We had a room with a balcony.Clean room with small fridge, coffee & thee maker, hairdryer and so on... very complete and tidy.

Review 65:It is a fair 3*, but not a 4*. It's an old and refreshed building. Was not really bad, but we arrived with another expectation based on hotel details.

Review 66:The location is good but complicated if you arrived by car.

Review 67:The cost of breakfast, which we avoided.

Review 68:The location on charming Molenstraat. The combination of quirky old-fashioned features (the stairs; the lifts; the balconies; the garden...) and modern comfort. The friendly staff.

Review 69:Minor complaint: the airco was not very effective (it was an uncharacteristically warm day in NL).

Review 70:As noted by many reviewers, the location is perfect for all aspects of visiting The Hague and Scheveningen. The staff were also helpful in providing an alternative room when the room I had booked was not ready.

Review 71:The fact that Holland is the flower capital of Europe. It was very disappointing that there were no fresh flowers anywhere in the hotel.

Review 72:A very centrally located hotel well suited to those who enjoy retail therapy. Breakfasts were very tasty with a good selection of foods.

Review 73:There is a need to improve the information on how to enter the street in which the hotel is located. It has barriers that have to be negotiated.

Review 74:Location. All the facilities that we used. Excellent staff. Room very comfortable

Review 75:The only minor negative was that we found it hard to drive and find the entrance, because road is closed at both ends

Review 76:Loved the location. Staff were great and very helpful. We had a room with balcony which was wonderful to sit on or allow a wonderful breeze into the room.It overlooked the Park also a bonus.

Review 77:Breakfast was mundane, ordinary (almost military) with some items (pattisseries) not replenished. Fried eggs were rock hard more often than not; bacon always had a weird flavour; mushrooms sauted in sugar... Too many stairs because of multi-level zones between guest rooms and lifts.

Review 78:All staff at all levels are very hospitable and eager to please. Located in a quiet street, guests have easy walking access to a huge variety of restaurants, brandname shops and boutiques.

Review 79:The twin beds made it very difficult to sleep "together".

Review 80:Nice big room, minibar facilities, nice big bathroom. Very clean and helpful staff.

Review 81:Nothing

Review 82:The friendliness of the staff, I arrived early and my room was ready. The convenience of the location, was 15mins stroll from central station and near all the shops, cafes, trams and bars....beach was 15mins away by tram....couldn't fault this hotel at all and will for sure return.

Review 83:Bathroom was a bit basic but everything worked. Didn't have breakfast so can't rate it.

Review 84:Friendly reception staff Really well located in centre. Effort to be eco-friendly

Review 85:The room was clean and airy, air-conditioned and spacious. Windows could be opened. Bathroom was excellent, with bathtub and shower, and two basins. We had an executive room.

Review 86:TV remote/menu subject to a new computer which made it impossible for my aged mother to work out or the staff member who came to help her to sort out either.

Review 87:The romm. The location

Review 88:The small room (very reasonably priced) really is small..

Review 89:Lovely old town hotel, refurbished in a lovely modern style. Excellently located in the city centre in a quiet street.

Review 90:Walk to everything! Close to small and large shops, stores and restaurants. WIFI worked very well in room and common areas. Book online to get breakfast included in price.

Review 91:The thirteen steep steps leading to our room once we opened the door came as a surprise. There was no street noise but day and night there we heard a pounding noise of some machinery, which reminded us of sleeping in a cabin close to the engine room on a ferry (fortunately we brought earplugs). The quality of the breakfast products was disappointing.

Review 92:Central location in a lively neighbourhood, close to restaurants, museums and public transportation stops. Nice building with impressive central staircase. Enjoyable rear view of Royal Palace garden. Well-equipped room in brown/beige/white tones with large windowed bathroom (separate bath and shower). Friendly staff.

Review 93:Well, parking in NL is expensive.... The bed was a little bit too soft for me.

Review 94:Location was great and the hotel was even better than the pictures. Spacious room and friendly staff made for a wonderful stay. Partnership with local garage makes parking easy

Review 95:After the elevator, there are 2 sets of a few steps before we can reach the room, despite stating that we are travelling with elderly. The trolley was a bit strange.

Review 96:Private garage is very good. Surrounding hotel, there are essential shops, supermarket & restaurants that travellers need.

Review 97:The room was a bit small, the parking pretty pricy (but at least directly near the hotel) and the TV wasn't working, but as we were only there for one night, we didn't complain.

Review 98:The location is great, located right in the center, the room was very calm with a nice view into the garden. The bed was extremely comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 99:Free WiFi just didn't work but friendly staff helped with our online flight check-in.

Review 100:Very convenient for station, sightseeing, restaurants and shopping. A great breakfast in impressive, airy dining room. Room very clean and comfortable.

Review 101:The rooms are very small. Apparently booking.com did not communicate the hotel our request for an additional bed, and the rooms they gave us were too small to add a bed. Fortunately they managed to find two rooms that allowed one extra bed, close enough to each other. Breakfast is very expensive.

Review 102:Location, general aspect

Review 103:We loved being able to hire bikes from the hotel and explore Den Haag and the staff were always happy to help you out with anything. Stepping out of the hotel and having an array of shops and restaurants at your fingertips was amazing.

Review 104:Nothing really but the towels could be a bit bigger & softer.

Review 105:We have stayed here twice before & love the position of the hotel, near to local bars & good restaurants. The staff are all very helpful & nothing is too much trouble. We will stay again.Would recommend.

Review 106:Breakfast was expensive. Bathrooms a bit tired.

Review 107:Located near the centre of The Hague this hotel is a short walk from some excellent art galleries including the Mauritshuis. Very friendly staff who were more than happy to find out what was open on Easter Monday for me.

Review 108:The only downside was that the heat of the room was hard to regulate and the television was slightly temperamental. But these all fell into insignificance considering how much we enjoyed the rest of the hotels amenities!

Review 109:Comfortable surroundings in the centre of a beautiful city. We had a gorgeous room overlooking the garden. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts exceeded our expectations. The bar does not open until 5pm so before that, there is complimentary tea and coffee (plus, during our stay, Easter eggs) available prior to that time which was a lovely touch.

Review 110:Parking was a "bit" expensive. Street rooms were noisy on weekend nights until very late (or early morning).

Review 111:Breakfast was very good! Reception staff is informative.

Review 112:The double bed was two single beds... which separated during the night. It would be a big improvement if the two beds were properly zipped and linked together.

Review 113:Very nice atmosphere, comfortable, friendly and tasteful. Very pleasant room with a balcony overlooking the palace gardens... Simple bike hire and in all very nice experience. I have stayed here many times and it is always a pleasure to return

Review 114:The room was always stuffy, even after opening the window to let fresh air come in. This musty-smell should definitely be removed.

Review 115:location of the hotel; the size of the single room: excellent

Review 116:The bed was a bit soft.

Review 117:The location was excellent, and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast, while pricey, was delicious. The free coffee during the day was a nice touch.

Review 118:room 206 has an opening under the door that let's in lots of light and noice at night. Also the shower is positioned in the bath in such a way that you cannot stand it its water stream.

Review 119:Can't think of anything, it was all good. No restaurant but there are 5 or more within 5 mins walk.

Review 120:We were given a great welcome, including a birthday gift! The room was very comfortable with facilities including tea/coffee and a hair drier. Very comfortable bed. Very quiet room overlooking the garden. Great breakfast too, and a very central position close to the Binnenhof.

Review 121:Better directions from the train station could've been provided (ie directions from the nearest tram stop).

Review 122:I was surprised that the hotel was so grand, considering how much I paid for my room. I wish I could have stayed at least another night or two! If I return to The Hague, which I intend to, I plan to stay here again.

Review 123:Great location in the downtown (was very quiet our room), clean, great comfortable bed and also bathroom with nice bath and shower. Nice people at the reception.

Review 124:I had to change rooms because the TV and safe did not work. I was moved to a nicer room (great!) but the next morning a computer glitch was calling several rooms (mine included) for wake up calls (fortunately only at 10:30).

Review 125:Staff was great and accomodating dealing with some glitches in their facilities. Very clean. Good location.

Review 126:On the first night the hotel was very noisy due to parquet flooring and people moving around, also no BBC1 and some other TV channels did not work.

Review 127:Good location and good breakfast.

Review 128:I ordered one of the cheapest rooms and the wifi was not good as well as the room was very small. There were no pitures of the cheap rooms so I had no idea. It was comfortable just very small and such. Also I clicked on the breakfast option on the bookings website and actually was told at the hotel that breakfast was not included so I don't really know yet if I was charged the 20 euro or so for a breakfast I did not actually have.

Review 129:The staff were very friendly. I ordered room service and the food was great.

Review 130:I just missed a gym.

Review 131:The hotel is really a good choice for it´s price. Nothing to complain about. If you like to discover the city and sight seeing, it is fantastic.

Review 132:Right from the start I got the feeling I belonged there, and had anything I needed to understand explained to me, kindly. The views were impressive: peace and elegance, all around. Simple hotel layout: everything (room, breakfast room...) so easy to access; machinery and gadgets (elevator, shower, lights...) so comfortable to operate.

Review 133:The hotel is situated in a trendy neighbourhood with lots of nice shops, coffee and lunch places. For the price we paid we can speak about a very good price-quality ratio. Extended breakfast.

Review 134:Four star hotels used to offer plenty of toilet atricles by default available. Nowedays, you only get soap and this hotel is no exception. Somewhat comprnsated by the use of fair trade products. The bathroom floor was rather cold and the shower did stream slightly too soft and too few water to my taste Nothing that would make me change my choise if i came back

Review 135:Clean and spacious room with laminate floor. Charming old building, but in the rooms nothing but comfort Helpful staff Excellent location for tourism We didnt take the breakfast so cannot judge it

Review 136:Be careful, they charged me twice, first time at my arrival I was told that the money was only reserved, but there is some mistake at there side because I still cannot reach that money and it has never happened to me previously. So presently it seems that I paid for the room two times.

Review 137:nothing would stay there again

Review 138:I stayed overnight as a solo traveller and had a small attic style room with single bed, with a great view overlooking the fabulous park just behind the hotel. It's in a stylish quiet area with cafe's nearby and easy to get to via tram from the train station. Modern room with plasma TV, and huge bathroom with bath. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment - great wifi and staff very helpful. Great walking distance to centrum
