Reviews for Beechworth Cottages
Review 1:Very spacious & well equipped. The two lounges were great with large TV's + DVD in each, the kids loved it. No fancy ornaments to get broken. Also liked the small games room.
Review 2:A wonderful quiet, well-equipped retreat, close to the centre of Beechworth. Our cottage was set in a leafy garden, with the only sound being the thrush singing as we sat on the verandah sipping wine and relaxing after our trip. The cottage had everything for a very comfortable stay, and the Beechworth apples and apple juice left by Charlotte were much appreciated.
Review 3:If any criticism...and it's only our opinion...maybe the big spa bathroom would be better reconfigured as a second toilet/shower. Maybe it's just our age but we didn't use it. Maybe others would.
Review 4:Beatifully presented cabin. Loads of room. Great kitchen. Good location...not too near the noise of town but close enough.
Review 5:We were disappointed by a number of unfortunate omissions. 1. When I spoke to the manager after our arrival to enquire about instructions for connecting to WIFI, I was told that “the lack of reliable WIFI is one of the penalties of living in the country”. This seemed a cop out in a decent sized town like Beechworth, particularly as a quick look at other accommodation in town showed that WIFI was available there, as it is in all quality accommodation in 2015 including all (less expensive) accommodation in other country towns where we stayed on our trip. 2. There was no dishwasher - so it is quite misleading to describe the kitchen as “fully equipped” when most people now have dishwashers in their homes as standard kitchen equipment and the last thing you want to do whilst on holidays is wash dishes! 3. Although facing onto a wide verandah, one of the French doors in the lounge and the only one in the bedroom had been inexplicably permanently sealed so they could not be opened. It was particularly hot while we were there and not to be able to open these doors detracted from the pleasure of the verandah and accommodation and limited cross flow ventilation. The bedroom was particularly hot, with only small windows, and although air conditioned many, including us, prefer fresh air while they sleep. 4. The barbeque had not been cleaned and the remains of the last barbeque were in a state of decomposition on the hot plate. If these issues were addressed, this accommodation would be superb!
Review 6:This accommodation is situated on the outskirts of Beechworth, with pleasant gardens filled with many birds including a population of wandering ducks. We stayed in a two bedroom timber building called Drummond Cottage, which was private, spacious, comfortable, well maintained, generally well equipped and of a very good and tasteful standard.
Review 7:When we arrived there was a basket of local produce and a welcome note form our hosts. The cottage was clean, quiet and had everything you could want for a very comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Review 8:Nothing bad at all, would recommend this place to EVERYONE!
Review 9:We liked EVERYTHING. It was a perfect place to relax and unwind. Will definitely be back!!!
Review 10:The thoughtfulness in supplying all those little extras. The privacy, comfort and everything worked properly. Such excellent value for money. We will return.
Review 11:Kitchen opening on to dining would have been good, but not a big problem
Review 12:location was perfect as we had bikes to cycle into town and to hit the rail trails. Beds and linen were prefect.Loved the comfort and space.
Review 13:The heating in the main bedroom did not work so the mornings and nights were cold. Lack of Heating in the bathroom during cold mornings and nights and no heatinv where the bathtub / spa was made it difficult to enjoy .
Review 14:Good location . Spacious and clean.
Review 15:Didn't find the bed very comfortable.
Review 16:Very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful cottage. Great little touches that really made the stay fantastic. And the spa was amazing.
Review 17:We loved the cleanliness of our cottage, the luxuriousness of the spa bath and the way our cottage was completely warmed up for us when we arrived! Very gorgeous country get away
Review 18:No TV in bedroom, plenty of room for one. Our suitcase didn"t fit behind door in bedroom so no place to put suitcase except on chair. Aircon not very effective in cold mornings. Not serviced. Not enough towel rails in bathrooms - plenty of room for them.
Review 19:location was very peaceful and easy to park car and get out of property Welcome oranges, apple juice and biscuits very nice - oranges were delicious. Thank you
Review 20:We travelled during cold weather. Heating was marginal, first night was extremely cold even with heater turned up to 27 degrees. Vaulted ceilings are difficult to heat, however if heating was turned on earlier in the day it may have been more efficient. Went to bed cold and unfortunately no electric blanket!
Review 21:Clean, modern furnishings, very comfortable bed. Spacious and well equipped.
Review 22:Nothing.
Review 23:It was perfect, Thankyou. I only wish we were going to stay longer instead of an overnight stop. The beds were amazing..... And as we reside in a city with water restrictions we snuck in a spa..
Review 24:The weather was bad, rained none stop but that is what you get for going in the middle of winter!!
Review 25:Spacious cottage with a huge spa and lovely green surroundings
Review 26:No negative aspects
Review 27:The personalized welcome - heating was on (warm upon arrival) - with complimentary fresh fruit and juice available. Very comfortable with plenty of space to spread out and very clean throughout. Great water pressure too (both hot and cold)!
Review 28:A little bit of a walk to the main street and as it was cold, we did drive on one of the nights and stayed in one other. A couple of little additions might help like oil for cooking, paper towel etc. Sort of basics.
Review 29:The bedrooms were large and very comfortable beds. Having two sofas was also comfortable. Plenty of kitchen utensils.
Review 30:Was a bit cold in the dining area but it was -2 that night
Review 31:Welcome lights on, welcome note and basket of goodies + real milk in the fridge Everything and more in the kitchen
Review 32:Could nt stay longer
Review 33:Great atomosphere and everything you need for a few days away. The spa was amazing and the treats on arrival were a nice surprise. Will definitely be back.

Review 36:The cottage was well designed to share with two families, two separate lounges with TVs worked well and kids loved the game room. The house was surprisingly warm and the bed was comfortable.

Review 41:The cabins are extremely clean with everything you could need. The owners were very generous and left us a hamper of local produce. Beds are extremely comfortable. Extremely reasonable pricing.
Review 42:No Wi-Fi is a let down for this facility. One would expect this to be provided as a complimentary convenience for the prices charged
Review 43:Clean and comfortable.
Review 44:We found the size of the cottage was bigger then we expected. It was clean and well presented with a large comfortable king size bed. There was only two of us but the property can be adapted for two or four people (by locking one bedroom).
Review 45:A quiet location, with a pleasant stroll past interesting buildings to a justifiably popular town. The cottage had everything, very comfortable beds. Lots of space, well equipped kitchen. A great place to meet friends.
Review 46:Self check in and check out, smooth as. BBQ facilities on the patio and spa bath inside were lovely. We stayed in Drummond Cottage, it has the best position, surrounded by large lawn at the back and best privacy.
Review 47:Nothing

Review 49:Only stayed three nights, wish it could have been longer.

Nice to have breakfast and evening meals on the verandah and listen to the birdsong.Local area very interesting with the Ned Kelly connections would love to stay here again.
Review 51:Can't think of a thing.
Review 52:Everything, when we first drove in we thought this is a fair way out of town, but then realised it was a perfect distance because you got to be away from the busy hub and relax in a country style setting. Everything was provided for from games, books right down to glad wrap in the drawer. It was so relaxing that we felt as though we had been away for more than the long weekend. Absolutely loved it, loved the welcome hamper, loved the email from Bernie to say welcome, everything was well thought out and the cottage was very clean and comfortable, will definitely be back again.
Review 53:Friendly, relaxing atmosphere in a very peaceful setting. It was lovely to be able to sit outdoors and enjoy our breakfasts and just a friendly chat on the verandah. We would highly recommend this cottage to others.
Review 54:There was nothing to dislike except maybe the flies but that comes withthe territory in rural Australia and the hosts did supply flyspray andthere were flyscreens on windows.

Review 59:My partner and I had booked for two nights but loved it that much we stayed for 3. It felt like home away from the city. Enjoying the fresh meat and wines. And in the cottage its self I lived in the spa, was clean kitchen had everything I needed plus more. Would stay again.

Review 65:Nothing,
Review 66:Facilities, furnishings & layout were great. We are a mature couple & shared our break with our two children & 3 grandchildren, the setup allowed adequate separation & entertainment for the family. We all had a most enjoyable stay. The arrival gift of local juice & apples & a packet of biscuits along with a handwritten note of welcome was a pleasant surprise.Provision of various cooking aids such as gladwrap, foil etc. along with laundry powder & dishwasher tablets and a large array of crockery & pots & pans were similar to a well equipped home. Altogether an exceptional holiday experience.
