Reviews for Bica Boa

Review 1:Lovely place in the mountains. Great garden and flowers, all the facilities for a great stay to relax. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpfull. If you like, you can easily visit other more touristic places and beaches (you need a car), while staying in a peacefull and quiet surrounding. Also perfect when traveling around.

Review 2:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 3:Bica Boa can be placed on our list of wonderful places to stay. However many negative comments there are this is by far one of the most valued places we have ever visited! The owner is wonderful and the rooms have a comfortable aroma of peacefulness. The view is beautiful and it is not too far from many lovely beaches. Everything is very calm and the food is delicious. We could write postive comments all day but there are too many! Naiya aged 11

Review 4:I did not like the hard beds nor the dank and dark room. The window was much too small and had to be left open always for adequate ventilation otherwise the room was quite musty. The owner did not welcome us on arrival it was altogether very low key but she was a food host thereafter.

Review 5:Central location for activities was good and it was also near town and restaurants. The sunny terrace was lovely for lunch and the evening fare was good.

Review 6:We booked a room, but on arrival there was no room available. We had to stay in a very cold bungalow and paid the full prize.

Review 7:Nice atmosphere, serenity.

Review 8:It needed repainting in many places. Some lights did not work. Curtains in our room were not hung properly.

Review 9:Location great. Staff very nice. Use of a kitchen very good.

Review 10:We did not consider this a bad experience at all. It did go through our minds that the room rate was a bit higher than what we would have liked. Maybe, we are used to paying less in other parts of Portugal for similar places. The positive aspects to the stay outweighed the higher rate, so we won't cross it off our possible places to return.

Review 11:The people working there were friendly and helpful. It was nice having the dog (Nina?) for company on our hike. The setting of Bica Boa is really great. It was so peaceful to sit on the bed with a glass of wine after our hike and listen to the birds and frogs. The room was comfortable, and the outdoor spaces for relaxing are great! There were problems with our shower, but Susan did her best to rectify the situation; we couldn't ask for a better response. These things happen.

Review 12:Very kind, warm and welcoming staff - Susie, the owner, was so friendly and accommodating during my stay, as was the waiter/porter (Claudio). The place itself has a very peaceful 'Zen' vibe to it, and is surrounded by some truly beautiful scenic views of Monchique. If you are looking for somewhere in the Algarve to rest, relax and rejuvenate in a peaceful setting - this is the place! I will definitely be back some time :)

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:This hotel occupies a lovely quiet spot and a has traditional interior. The self catering kitchen is good for making snacks if you don't want to use the restaurant.

Review 15:The room was not clean, smelled of wet dog sometimes. Shower was not always warm and bathroom was dirty. Also breakfast was disappointing, egg and fresh orangejuice was nice but bread seemed old. Diner: Food was not really warm. Could not pay with creditcard. Not worth 75 euro per night.

Review 35:somewhat small and dated

Review 36:fine breakfast

Review 37:We thought it had lots of potential but was rather tired in all aspects, maybe because it was reaching the end of what appears to have been a poor tourist season.

Review 38:Although the approach to the car parking facilities was a bit hairy we found the location very convenient for walking into Monchique town and for driving to and from other destinations.

Review 39:My best stop in Portugal in 2 weeks, the people could not have been more friendly and helpfull. The dinner was not only very good, it was country-style generous !.. The room was spacious and the river below was a treat to hear running in the evening. Secure parking and even the breakfast was 3 course !!.. great hospitality !
