Review 2:location, comfortable bed, close to subway, quiet, good breakfast

Review 3:Room is a bit small ....for fat ppl like me keep bounce into friend while walking over or knock against the bed .haizzzz hee hee

Review 4:Best locations to everywhere only thing is the cafe closed too early ....overall I love this hotel

Review 5:No free drinks provided in our room which is usual with other hotels.

Review 6:The location is great and staff are always very helpful and cheerful. Will recommend this to our friends.

Review 7:Restaurants and bars poor menu options, normal rooms are tiny.

Review 8:Initial room was small but were able to upgrade to larger room for small additional price (discounted) which was good. Good location, close to Shinjuku station

Review 9:Bar closed on Sunday (would have liked a nightcap). Somewhat average breakfast for the price.

Review 10:Very good location for my needs. Room available from 14h (1h earlier than some competition), typical friendly treatment by Japanese staff. Decently sized room by local standards. Well-working internet connection. Vending machines with fair prices.

Review 11:Good sized room for tokyo. Variety of shopping nearby. Plenty of different food choices in the vacinity. Was quiet to stay in. Room was clean I would stay here again.

Review 12:Room size. We booked an 18sqm room and found out that they didnt have such, only 16sqm.

Review 13:Access from the airport via Airport Limousine Bus. Accessible from Major commercial areas in Shinjuku

Review 14:Conveniently located to everything but specifically to the metro and JR stations. Well positioned for many nice places in Shinjuku. Exceptionally kind staff. Clear directions available to reach any spot given by reception on paper. Wonderful airport service with Limo Bus door to door from both Narita and Haneda airports. Economy Room big enough (for Tokyo std). Confortable bed. Perfectly working wifi.

Review 15:wardrobe is small

Review 16:I could not expect better: - hotel is in a quiet street just 50m away from one of the top locations in Tokyo - Shinjuku - subway entrance just few steps away from the hotel - room is small but clean, you get clean pajamas every day and it has EU power sockets and high quality internet access (UTP socket and wifi) - staff is extremely nice and we even got upgraded room (a bit bigger wardrobe) free of charge - we just asked for it at the reception, one was available and we got it

Review 17:During a busy season, the staff managed to upgrade our room. The room was great, very clean and spacious. Included all required amenities and a coin laundry. Hotel is in a great location, I've stayed here three times already and will continue to book this hotel.

Review 18:Return visit to this hotel on our first night in Tokyo. Once again location, cleanliness and very professional level of care at reception. Good english and willingness to assist wherever needed. We'll be back after skiing. Highly recommend

Review 19:This was my second time staying at this hotel. The location is very close to Shinjuku station, with limousine bus to airports start and stop by at the hotel.

Review 20:Old furniture, including a ripped chair. Cleanliness was not ideal: hair on the bed, black marks on the walls, dust bunnies on the carpet, mould/dirt on the rim of the sink. Could do better for a 4 star...

Review 21:Excellent geographical situation, right next to Shinjuku station yet very calm. Well equipped room, comfortable stay.

Review 22:A bit pricey but worth it. A bit to far to walk to upper east side shopping area of Shinjuku, Isetan dept. store, etc.

Review 23:Aurport limousine bus starts here for both airports - Haneda (just 20-30 minutes by bus via underground tunnel) and Narita. It's easy to walk - to JR via new south exit, to subway Oedo line via exit beside hotel, to Takashimaya dept. store via south deck (bridge) over the rail line.

Review 24:- airport limousine buses only stop at this hotel for few times in the morning (not the hotel's fault, really) - TV is a bit small comparing to the room size

Review 25:- the location of the hotel is excellent, 5 mins walk to Shinjuku JR station only, no stairs in between - very clean and good view in our room - pretty spacious, comparing to other hotels in japan

Review 26:Hard Japanese style pillows and very small room - not a lot of place to put your luggage and once you open your suitcase you pretty much have to climb over it to the TV or bed.

Review 27:Great location and lovely staff. We were here just after New Years and they had free Sake which was a really nice touch. Good strong WiFi.

Review 28:1) The concierge was not available after 11:30 am. Also I think the concierge should have been familiar with the top museums in Tokyo. She did not know about the Contemporary Museum and its location.

Review 29:1) I appreciated the services of the concierge who directed me to museums, etc.. 2) The location of the hotel is the best to access Tokyo spots from Shinjuku Sta. 3) Also the proximity to Takashimaya, Kinokuniya. 4) Concierge/hotel services for airport shuttle -- very efficient. Thanks. 5) The breakfast buffet is excellent.

Review 30:Room was not vacuumed, towels were replaced, toothbrush and other toiletries were reolaced, but bathroom was not really cleaned. Bed was made, but the table was not wiped nor cleaned. Very poor housekeeping.

Review 31:Front desk staff was nice and helpful.

Review 32:The only real negative is the size of the room. It is quite small and there is not much floor space to sit large suitcases. However, we expected this in Tokyo so we did not mind.

Review 33:Hotel Sunroute is a great hotel. The premises is clean, the staff are polite and it is quite fancy, which was surprising because it did not cost a lot of money. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is only a few hundred metres away from Shinjuku Station.

Review 34:Old fashion and small room Asked to upgrade my booking.com reservation for 1000 yen for a larger room, to be decided on the spot. I asked to have a look at the two rooms and they said it was just an offer for that precise moment. Not professional at all Staff not very helpful, for example asked for a map of the city and I had to insist several times to get one

Review 35:Great position 5 min walking from many restaurants and shops and main train/metro station

Review 36:Room needs thorough vacuuming. Insects biting legs. Pillows too soft.

Review 37:Great location for shopping and access to subways. Had a wonderful dinner at restaurant. Friendly staff.

Review 38:I do believe their is an area of improvement and that would be their washer and dryer. The dryer does take a while to dry the clothes. But nonetheless, it is a very convenient amenity for guests staying at the hotel.

Review 39:The staff was friendly and if needed they would communicate with us in English. They also helped us write in Japanses my cold symptoms so that we could communicate better with the pharmacist. Their service was exceptional and we felt they always went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Location is excellent!!

Review 40:It would be nicer if we have a room to bathe esp for travellers who check ou tat 1pm and their flight is late at night.

Review 41:the wedding card and complimentary sparkling wine from the hotel for our honeymoon trip

Review 42:no free water bottles

Review 43:Comfortable, convenient (just beside subways n 3 min walk to main JR Shinjuku station), good food/restaurants just outside hotel, perfect for leisure n biz travelers

Review 44:Location not bad, walking distance to JR station but if they can provide shuttle bus is better especially we travel with young children and big luggages. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful.

Review 45:Hard pillows

Review 46:Great location - a few minutes from South exit of Shinjuku station. Its in a quiet street so no noise. Helpful staff ( helped me send my luggage to next hotel, explained when asked about shops and restaurants in neighborhood) Lots of nearby restaurants and coffee shops

Review 47:Room is a little small to fit two big luggage

Review 48:Fantastic good value hotel ! Great location ! Very clean and has everything you need. Bed is very comfortable.

Review 49:Cleanliness of the room can sometimes be a bit inconsistent. Wifi speeds can be really slow during peak periods.

Review 50:Very convenient location, friendly staff. Amenities are comprehensive.

Review 51:The staff at the reception is not friendly. The housekeeping did not clean the room properly. Used cups at not wash. Drinking Water is not provided by the hotel.

Review 52:I pick this hotel as limousine bus travel to this hotel. It's so convenient. The location is walking distance to bus service to mount Fuji and Disneyland.

Review 53:The only international channel was CNN which is a great channel to watch but semi-depressing watching every night on vacation.

Review 54:The hotel is in a great location. Just a few minutes walk to Shinjuku station and about 30 minutes walking to Shibuya. Such a great value for the money.

Review 55:Room is just a bit small if I have to really pick on something, otherwise nil.

Review 56:Staff very helpful and able to arrange for adjacent rooms for us. Room is always clean.

Review 57:Airport bus is good for traveling to and from Narita. Breakfast is also nice. The staff English is excellent. I travel with a wheel chair and the Universal room is spacious enough for me, my friend and three suitcases.

Review 58:The room was small, or maybe just badly arranged.

Review 59:Perfect location, just a few minutes walk from Shinjuku station. Little tip: use the Shinjuku Southern Terrace to walk from and to the hotel, Christmas lights everywhere!

Review 60:No bad experience, but I suggest they provide coffee in addition to green tea (not all people are tea drinkers). Price is a little expensive.

Review 61:Near to JR station, 2 mins to Takashimaya mall, many restos nearby. Lobby is spacious, hotel staff very friendly, accommodating and attentive to needs of guests. All speak good English. Airport limo bus stops at hotel, convenient for airport transfers, no need for taxi. Hotel provides ice dispenser and vendo for drinks at every floor. Toiletries, slippers, ref, minibar with green tea provided. Strong wifi. Pillow comfortable.

Review 62:Size of room. Lack of draws or shelves on which to keep clothing and thus avoid creasing. Inadequate space to keep luggage. Gross misrepresentation of room size in the photographs of the room.

Review 63:Location re railway lines. Bus pick up directly to airport. Hotel services.

Review 64:Nothing particular. I know what i have paid for.

Review 65:Close to shinjuku station. I can easily find the hotel even i arrived in tokyo in the midnight. Room seems to be newly renovated but small in general like other hotel rooms in tokyo.

Review 66:Well located, room condition new and amenities very complete. Everything that is needed for a comfortable stay has been provided. Airport Limo stops right in front.

Review 67:Room too small ??

Review 68:OEDO line just beside the hotel . 5-8 mins to all major subway and JR . Very convenient places ., family convenient store just opposite the hotel . Lots places to eat nearby ., takashimaya just few minutes walk..

Review 69:wish you had some instant coffee for guests who need coffee first thing in the morning

Review 70:almost everything especially the front and the lobby staffs very convenient location etc etc

Review 71:Very clean room, cordial staff and excellent location. Close to Shinjuku and Yoyogi Train stations, several convenience stores, shopping malls and local restaurants. We didn't have the breakfast included, so I can't comment on that.

Review 72:One pillow each and very hard! (Like most in Japan)

Review 73:Very clean. Small room to ve expected but our bed was a good size. Close to lots of good food and Shinjuku station.

Review 74:Nothing comes to mind. Just note that the size of the room is good if you're a solo traveller... with 1 medium-sized suitcase and backpack. Tabletop space is limited to a placemat-sized area (after one has unpacked the chargers and a mini ipad).

Review 75:Location.... proximity to train station, amenities, dining. Staff - friendly, helpful and well-informed.

Review 76:Absolutely cramped room. Stayed together with my wife. With both luggage open, it is almost impossible to walk in the room. The management should not compromise space and totally neglect the comfort of customers. The hotel totally failed my minimal requirement. I will never stay in this hotel again.

Review 77:Fine location but still ard 10 min walk to shinjuku station. Generally clean room.

Review 78:None

Review 79:Great hotel and location, nice buffet Japanese or western breakfast. Limousine bus from and to Narita or Haneda airport drop off and pick up point from this hotel, it's really convenient

Review 80:Nothing! Had a great experience.

Review 81:I loved everything about my experience at this hotel! I only stayed one night but it was comfortable, walking distance from Shinjuku station, close to a lot of great site seeing places in Tokyo. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are generously sized for Tokyo hotel standard and very beautiful inside. We were given an upgrade when we checked in that was much appreciated and were able to check in early. Service is top notch quality. Hotel is one of the hotels on the Narita airport limousine bus routes so it came right to us when we had to leave. The beds and bathroom are modern, clean, comfortable and overall my stay here was fantastic!

Review 82:Pillows were quite flat. Space was small, but as we expected.

Review 83:Great location!! Close to Shinjuku station (we always took the South Exit). And there's a lot of things to explore around shinjuku - food & stores. You can either walk along the main street or over a bridge just outside the hotel which leads to the other side of the station. Airport limousine bus back to Narita was handy too.

Review 84:The side of shinjuku the hotel is on hasn't got a robust selection of places to eat. A small gripe.

Review 85:Great location for hoe close it is to JR station.

Review 86:The excellent location. Very close to shinjuku station, but on a quiet side street. Nearby family mart. Very efficient use of space in a small room Adjustable room temperature.

Review 87:The room size is a bit on the smaller size if you take the minimum size. They do not have porter service and you have to practice your skill in DIY to transfer your luggage to your room and to the lobby. Without a Concierge service counter all issues have to be addressed by the Reception counter..

Review 88:Sunroute Plaza Hotel Shinjuku is located in a very central location and probably one of the best location in Shinjuku. It is so near the Train Station.. The Hotel is served by Airport Limo Which provide airport transfers from the Airport and from the Hotel to the Airport right at the doorstep which is very economical if you are travelling in a smaller number as taxi fare is about 10x than a single Airport Limo fare. The Hotel is also near major shopping Area such as Takashimaya which is across the road and shopping st the Train Station area such as Lumine 1 and 2 as well as Isetan. There are numerous restaurants around the Hotel including fast food such as McDonald and KFC and Crispy Cream. There is also A Hospital.

Review 89:Rooms were small but exactly what we paid for so no complaints

Review 90:The hotel is close to transport and amenities with shopping also close by. Staff were good and the rooms very clean.

Review 91:By western standards the room was small and there was difficulty in opening and packing my bag without using the bed. My advice is pack small and use the laundry facilities - they are very effective unlike a lot of hotels in Australia.

Review 92:The staff from the doorman, concierge, dining room, and front desk were incredibly polite, friendly and helpful. They assisted me with working out the postal address for a friend in Yokohama and some other requests. They made all the difference.

Review 93:Suggest that hotel provides body lotion.

Review 94:Location excellent with subway exit right at its door step. Limousine bus from airport stops at hotel entrance. Shopping and food outlets just round the corner.

Review 95:WiFi could be a little patchy at times.

Review 96:Facilities were very clean. Staff very friendly. If you signed up for their membership (which was free, for a period) you could have late check-out at 1pm.

Review 97:I have no bad experience with this hotel. Everything is good and I enjoy my stay.

Review 98:Excellent location. The hotel is located just across the road from the Shinjuku Station which makes it convenient for us to travel around Tokyo and even to other parts of Japan. The hotel staff are also very helpful and speak good English.

Review 99:Pillows were very hard.

Review 100:Location is excellent and staff are very, especially the door man "Gucci". He went out of his way to help us navigate the train station.

Review 101:The room is small. Pillows are too flat to sleep on.

Review 102:Wifi was excellent. Staffs were very helpful and polite. Limousine Bus is just in front of hotel. So convenient to get from airport to hotel and vice versa.

Review 103:Every year I stay at your hotel & I thought your breakfast food will improve w/increase price .

Review 104:I like the room space , cleanliness& staff .

Review 105:Disliked having to prepay in cash for additional four nights. Need better mattress toppers., lumpy and Somewhat uncomfortable.

Review 106:Location and courteous, intelligent, friendly, English speaking female staff. Also appreciated late checkout and baggage storage. Rooms were clean, maintained, and had appropriate amenities for westerners. This was my fourth stay.

Review 107:Staff is robotic when asking directions etc. They don't even smile... Sometimes make you feel you are bothering them.

Review 108:Complimentary early check in. Late check at 1pm if you sign up for their free membership.

Review 109:Size of room a little squeeze and the pillow is not as comfortable as expected

Review 110:Location is very close to Shinjuku Station, shopping centre and all the excitements in Shinjuku area.

Review 111:The bathroom smelled very musty. After a hot shower the whole bathroom is wet from the steam. Perhaps it needs better ventilation. Also, the free razor(shaver) is horrible, it does not work.

Review 112:Staff was very friendly, location was a short walk from train station and shops. And as expected, very clean.

Review 113:Pillow is a bit too flat

Review 114:Location is near JR shinjuku station. About 5 mins walk away. Room is clean and looks new. Bed is comfortable and hard which is good. A convenience shop is located just opposite the hotel.

Review 115:Our room has no view and the room is quite small.

Review 116:The location is very convenient. The staff at the reception area speak good English. They clean and tidy up the room everyday.

Review 117:The room was small but it's like that everywhere in Japan.

Review 118:The staff was really nice, the room was small but very clean, the lobby is really big and nice to sit and the location is great, less than 5 minutes walk from the biggest station in Tokyo. Lots of restaurants and other shops are really nearby.

Review 119:Some staff is not quite helpful. I call reception as i coiuld not open the window. The answer is no one available. Even she try to teach me to open it via phone but it is not successful.

Review 120:Location is very good. 3-5minute walk to JR shinjuku. Hotel is clean. Very convinion.

Review 121:Being from America the room was small, however we were out and about all day so it didn't really make a difference. I would stay again for the location.

Review 122:You definitely stay here for the location. It's a two minute walk to Shinjuku station so you can be anywhere in Tokyo in half an hour. Room is clean and love the large bottles of conditionar and shampoo.

Review 123:room was tiny for Westerner's standards but fine. Full size bed up against a wall, Tiny bathroom but fine and clean. Staff did not speak English which were told they do. But, we were in their country so had to take that into account. Concierge did not do well with English either. We managed had a translator app. Bar in hotel will not allow you to bring drinks to your room. Ok not the end of the world. Just remember you are in Tokyo so space is limited.

Review 124:close to train station. walk to most sites of the city. Room was clean.

Review 125:You must retrieve baggage on the same day. Under new luggage policy, hotel will not accept to keep your baggage more than 1 day. If you want look for more room space, it will not be the right one for you especially for 2 adult staying in a very tiny bed.

Review 126:Great location

Review 127:The hotel was in a great location near to Shinjuku station so was a great for our first stop of the holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar was great for a pre-dinner drink

Review 128:Front office staff are very helpful. This trip, the airline lost my suitcase so staff help to coordinate with this matter. Room is very clean as always. Love it!

Review 129:Only thing... the tiny cordless iron and tiny tabletop ironing board. They're not in every room anyway - just have a normal iron!

Review 130:Great location - a couple of minutes walk from the station, convenience store across the road. Really friendly and helpful staff (all fluent in English). Super comfortable bed and pillows (with different thicknesses/fillings). Very quiet. Would definitely stay there again!

Review 131:The room size... a bit small..

Review 132:The location is perfect. Staff at the front desk are exellent, good english and very helpfull. There's a limosine bus right away to airport from the hotel.

Review 133:The bed was a little old and not very comfy.

Review 134:Great location so close to a major travel hub, great places to eat and huge department stores. Wifi was free and incredibly fast.

Review 135:1.The room was not cleaned neither fixed properly must of my stay. Dirty mugs were not changed. All I got was a "sorry for the inconvenience" 2.All other hotels provided free water and coffee. The staff said the sink water was ok to drink? 3.The smallest room I have ever seen

Review 136:How close it is to the station

Review 137:Very nice and clean hotel with excellent staff and good location to move around Tokyo. Close to yamanote line and metro. Close to different shopping and eating places. Especially suitable for young people. I will stay there again next time. :-)
