Reviews for O Pomar Holiday Village

Review 1：It is a bit of a walk (15 mins) to the main Cabanas strip, particularly for our 4 year old after an evening out. There are no pavements for part of it. Perhaps more importantly though, no easily accessible shop - getting bread/milk and other essentials is a good 10 minute walk.

Review 2：The pool was great - bigger than you'd think looking at the pictures. Kids loved it for constantly jumping in but there is still a decent shallow end for the younger ones. Yes, sunbeds a little premium but not dramatically so. Our apartment was fab: very spacious and very well equipped. Very clean and we had great WiFI (not all do - we were right behind the pool)

Review 3：The swimming pool area was a little crowded for me but other people seemed to enjoy this area.

Review 4：The penthouse apartment was big and spacious and the view was amazing. The staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. The Cabanas beach was also one of the better beaches I have been too in Portugal.

Review 5：The local supermarkets are quite expensive and occasionally we were overcharged in supermarkets, perhaps because the pricing wasn't always clear to the staff working in the supermarkets. Note that there is no supermarket on site. We ended up using the Lidl store at Tavira train station, but we'd rather have shopped locally and would have done if the prices and range of food had been better. Local trains were not very reliable, but at least they were relatively cheap if the guard on duty could be bothered to apply the discounts for children!

Review 6：Staff were great throughout O Pomar and they worked really hard, even during the hottest part of the day. We thought the staff were a real asset to the resort in general. The accommodation was very clean, well-equipped and very spacious. The pool area was busy (in August) but other guests were discouraged from leaving towels on sunbeds which helped a lot. We stayed in a 3-bedroom penthouse apartment that had lovely views around the resort and out to the sea in the distance. It was great being so close to the Conceição train station: we recommend Tavira (about 1.40E) and Vila Real de Santo António (about 2.15E) where you can get a boat over to Spain. O Pomar is a good place to be if you want to leave the car at home!

Review 7：Bit of a fight for a sunbed around the pool but the attendant very efficient in making room for you and moving towels off unoccupied beds. Nearest supermarket a good 10 min away

Review 8：Fabulous resort, quiet, very friendly staff and bars. Apartment immaculate and extremely well kitted out. We had a penthouse with great views and its own sun terrace.

Review 11：There should be more pools for such a big place. Very crowded and not enough sunbeds and shade. Nice flat but very noisy people above us. Lots of ants. Had to pay extra to visit the gym.

Review 14：The facilities are great, everything very new and well kept. The pool is a good size. Good location if you have a car.

Review 15：No one available on arrival to check in had to wait over an hour at night until security guard arrived & then no cot in the room, children (1 & 4) didn't get to bed until 10.30pm wasn't even answering emergency number shown on reception door. Following evening shower door shattered whilst bathing the baby, luckily he wasn't hurt (my husband had a nasty cut on his hand) it wasn't a nice sight seeing my husband pulling him our of the bath covered in blood

Review 17：There were no towels or sheets in the beds when we arrived. We did get them that night but I had to help the night staff to make the bed. Apartment was not serviced once in the 5 nights we were there. Location just a little far to walk with young children from shops and restaurants.

Review 29：Check in and out. Advised only set hours so had to arrange special check ins and outs, which they did. On booking states check out is 8-10 and check in from 4.30pm but o pomar have different hours. Caused sme stress., arrived at 8pm and left 8.30am.

Review 31：I think with a few little extras this could be a fabulous complex. there are empty units beside the bar these could very easily be converted into a games room or chill out zone for kids. More comfortable seating for bar, the wicker couches outside sales office would be fab for the bar area. Also restaurant could do with nice umbrellas so people could sit and have a bite during the day.
