Review 1：Nothing-it is the perfect holiday getaway.

Review 2：Sue is wonderful-a natural host. We returned this year after discovering this place last year-loved it so much we returned. Beautiful views, lovely facilities, great location, birdsong day and night. So relaxing. Has a special quality about it.

Review 3：Location close to village but up driveway for fabulous views from balcony away from street noise. Hearing kiwis at night from room, birdlife in trees. Great breakfast. Sue and Stephen excellent hosts.

Review 5：Excellent - lovely location with beautiful views.Room was good size, well furnished and decorated to a high standard. We were made to feel welcome. Breakfasts were lovely with plenty of choice. Owners had very good local knowledge and gave helpful advice about the area.

Review 8：The view from the room, which was extremely comfy and well equipped, looked down onto the wonderful bay of Russell. Both Sue and Steven made us very welcome, the afternoon tea on the balcony was wonderful, made fresh by Sue in a pot with biscuits. Breakfast was on the balcony and was served with a smile.

Review 10：I love Russel, its people, its restaurants. Breakfast on a deck with sea views was very special. Sue is an excellent host. The Gables is one of the best restaurants in New Zealand. Long Beach is a perfect place to swim.

Review 11：Villa Russell is pricey - but I really did not mind paying it. Milk in the rooms would be good - a small thing but would have meant we could make our own hot drinks more easily. But really I am being picky - I would definately go again.

Review 12：The location was suberb - appropriately elevated with beautiful views of the Bay from our verandah - just up from Russell township. Walking distance to main town and beaches. The room itself was lovely and the hosts were excellent - relaxed, homely yet professional and helpful. Breakfast deivered on the verandah in the mornings is an absolute treat. This is a special place - the reality exceeded my expectations.
