Reviews for Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

Review 1:None

Review 2:Room is spacious, clean and with a big wardrobe for the three of us. Excellent location with easy shopping & dining yet away from crowd and noise.

Review 3:location is excellent, its in the centre of Shinjuku, steps away from Shinjuku station, surrounded by shops restaurants, coffee shops and many attractions. they have free shuttle bus to Disney land and scheduled buses for airports and other attractions. the bill captain disk is very helpful

Review 4:A bit far to Shinjuku Shopping centre.

Review 5:The Hello Kitty Room is cute and special. Kids loved it so much. And there're several Hello Kitty gifts for take away free, such as the Hello Kitty dolls.

Review 6:The Sky Bar is incredible for its view but can get very smoky. The only other small criticism I have is that the Gym doesn't open till 10am.

Review 7:Great location. Great restaurants. Friendly, helpful Staff.

Review 8:Hotel wifi worked usually OK (a few voip calls were disconnected during the call), but the wifi signs you out after a few hours of (web browser?) inactivity - so had to log in again every morning and also whenever we got back to the hotel in the evening.

Review 9:Location is good (about 8 minutes to walk to the Shinjuku station). And if you can use the Toei Ōedo Line, it's station is even closer.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Very convenient location with large department stores and many nice restaurants around and yet the surrounding area is quiet and safe. We stayed at a newly renovated 3-bed room on high floor (as requested) which is very clean, comfortable and good enough for 3 adults.

Review 12:Booking for non-smoking room but when I checked-in, my room had strong smell of cigarette. However, the hotel offer me a bigger room. Unfortunately, the new room still has cigarette smell. When i was on an evelator up to my room, i heard the other guest is on his way to complain about the smell too.

Review 13:Location. Easy to access subway, JR station, Keio express bus stop, and airport limousine Friendly staff- very helpful for restaurant information during stay

Review 14:It's very large which can be inpersonal. Food isn't cheap. We had to book two rooms as we had five family members. This was expensive. We are from the convenience store for breakfast - much cheaper. There was really nowhere to sit down in the massive lobby.

Review 15:Location, room size, and facilities were all good., Located close train to Shinjuku train, Tokyo metro building and electronic area. Rooms were a good size and very nicely fitted out.

Review 16:There was no extra bed option for the premiere room and when it was very crowded there was a time when we couldnt get an extra blanket. The check in took a very long time

Review 17:The premiere room was new and really nice with very nice view

Review 18:Since the room size is quite big, it should be able to allow extra bed. We have 2 kids so we had to pay for 2 rooms ( 2 person each room) which is quite costly.

Review 19:The room size is great for family with kids. Great location within walking distance to Shopping area in Shinjuku. Spacious decoration and clean.

Review 20:internet connection: have to re-log in each time we come back to the room, so inconvenience.

Review 21:spacious room and good location, it also has one quite complete mini-mart which open around the clock(till 2am)

Review 22:The conceirge and counter staff were slow in their check-in. The lady staff who was to showed us to our room brought us to the wrong tower (she led us to the main tower instead of the south tower where the hello kitty room is). The hotel lacked a personal touch (could be due to the large number of guests the hotel has to cater for daily). And it would be much better if it had a 24hr convenience store within the hotel.

Review 23:We checked into the princess hello kitty room for three nights. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and clean. The room gave us a fantastic view of Mt Fuji. Though the hotel was located at the quiet side of Shinjuku, it was of walking distance to shopping and eating places. Best of all, with 2 young children, it was great that the hotel provides airport limousine bus service from/to NRT.

Review 24:To eat in some restaurants inside the hotel, you need to reserve in advance much earlier. Shopping centers and malls nearby are over crowed.

Review 25:location is good, near the Shinjuku park, and the view from the window of my room on the 32nd floor is fabulous.

Review 26:Would like more English / Chinese TV channels.

Review 27:Good location - near Shinjuku station. Rooms are spacious and clean. Room is enough to have 3 single beds.

Review 28:This is the fifth time we have stay in Keio plaza hotel in last 2 years We spent 3 nights at keio plaza, That is a very beautiful moment for our family The staff is very nice and very good service mind . Thanks again , we will be back.

Review 29:There are many restaurants inside the hotel which offer nice food. The location is good too, not too noisy and just need ard 5 mins walk to the station n department stores. There are buses directly form and to Disney and airport!

Review 30:long queue for breakfast!

Review 31:really good location and great views from the room toward the governement building! Good breakfast! definetely a good choice to explore Tokyo!

Review 32:Wait for a long time to book for airport shuttle & get back the luggages stored temporarily. Staff are very cool.

Review 33:Quite far away fm JR/Metro station

Review 34:Staff had an almost uniformly supercilious attitude that I experienced in no other hotel in Japan.

Review 35:Fairly near to Shinjuku train station. Choice of breakfast dining places in the hotel.

Review 36:When the central system is in heating mode, the fan coil unit does not provide any cooling option. It is either heating or nothing. Same happen if the central system is in cooling mode, you cannot have the heating option. We were provide a standing fan during our stay. Ridiculous!

Review 37:Nothing.

Review 38:We were surprised to be upgraded to deluxe room from superior. However, it was like a last minute thing because when we checked into the room, we were disappointed as there were only 2 beds and they were not prepared for our arrival. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for housekeeping to do up the extra bed n provide toiletries and towels as there were 3 of us. This room faces the Tokyo Metropolitan Govt building and it was noisy at night tiime with the trains going by.

Review 39:Friendly courteous staff. Complimentary bottled water. Spacious deluxe room for 3 persons.

Review 40:The toiletries in the room were above average and the choice of breakfast was nice. The line for breakfast not a good thing so come early and you'll be fine

Review 41:Staff manner. I guess this is a tourist hotel. Most of the staffs are not that friendly compare with my past experience 5 years back.

Review 42:Location of the hotel is great, can reach JR and metro within walking distance.

Review 43:Staff were very helpful and prompt throughout. Location is excellent, with a direct Limousine Bus to/from Narita. The complimentary bus to Disney resorts is fantastic, especially with exhausted kids at the end of the day.

Review 44:I had to leave and come home

Review 45:I love the Keio plaza. The staff is very hospitable, the restaurants I dined in were great, and the location is perfect. The gym was great too.

Review 46:Wifi is super slow and sometimes hard to connect. The location is in Shinjuku but still 5-10 minutes walk from the Shinjuku station.

Review 47:The room is clean and fairly sized. Airport limousine is available right at the hotel.

Review 48:Restaurant did not allow carry-out cups of coffee.

Review 49:Great friendly hotel near the Shinjugu station. Staff was helpful when planning to explore Toyko on our own. Most tours depart from this location.

Review 50:The places for breakfast in the restaurants on the 2/F are rather limited. It would be great if the restaurants may extend its business hours for breakfast to 11:00am.

Review 51:I like the location of this hotel, which is located next to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. It just takes about 5 minutes to walk to the Shinjuku Station.

Review 52:Housekeeping was not good, including cleanliness of the carpeting and the bathroom, and there was not completed set of bath accessories at the first day.

Review 53:Comfortable room.

Review 54:Its not so near to the station. Hard time to find from station because no signs english language.

Review 55:Tour pick up point. Have convenient store inside the hotel. The staff provided me map if not I got lost from station at least I Have to present it in some people who knows to read the language.

Review 56:Somehow my reservation was messed up to indicate only 1 guest even though the reservation also requests 2 beds, with the result that my hotel charges were increased significantly. The toilet smelled, which permeated to the entire bathroom and sometimes even the room. One of the two room keys initially did not work and it took staff several attempts to make it work.

Review 57:the room is smaller than my expectation, we book this hotel several times 10 years ago, my impression, it was relatively more expensive, but I liked their bigger room, but now it is not much difference from shinjuku prince or washington, which is much cheaper, while shinjuku prince is even more convenient, so in overall, it is not so worth of this price

Review 58:experienced and helpful staffs, can speak good english, we arrive shinjuku late to return the car we rent, the staff help to call and ask, so that we can return in another shop later and a bit closer, the room is renovated and clean, 5-10 mins to shinjuku stations, which is quite convenient

Review 59:No bfast included. Every other hotel we stayed at included breakfast, including the one that we paid $100 a night for. This hotel was the most expensive yet there was no value in what we spent. We had to pay for breakfast on top of $1800 for 5 night. There were no hotel facilities available as well which was disappointing, such as pool etc.

Review 60:Really nice views and decent size room.

Review 61:The breakfast is a little bit too expensive. Too many travellers, check-in took a lot of time.

Review 62:Good position and kind people. The view toward city hall is fantastic!

Review 63:quite far from station with large luggages, should offer free shuttle going to and from JR

Review 64:the largest room among Tokyo hotels at about same prices. definitely necessary to choose Keio Plaza for family travelers. higher floor has great view of shinjuku too. make sure to book renovated room otherwise the interior and facilities are quite dated...

Review 65:Staff English was average and was some difficulty in understanding some requests. I think the hotel maybe over priced compared to others also centrally located.

Review 66:Location is excellent, easy to get to from airport

Review 67:Hotel guest has 10 percent discount on food in restaurant but did not allow executive members to collect points. You have to choose either or. They allow both discount and have points added.

Review 68:Breakfast choices were excellent. Luxe lounge was great use too. Premier plaza room was excellent with great city view.

Review 69:make sure you get in the correct lift as you can get a bit lost if you wander around

Review 70:After staying in apartments and small ryokans, this was quite a difference! Very big and shiny, bellboys, multiple lifts and a somewhat confusing floor layout plus a fantastic roof top bar gave it a very Lost in Translation movie feel. Really nice hotel though - very clean, spacious rooms, attentive and helpful staff. Loved the convenience store on the bottom floor as well!

Review 71:We are unfortunate for being given a double bed placed against a wall, on 18th-20th floor, so very uncomfortable for a second person to get in and out off bed.

Review 72:Bus to & fro airports at all hours, great location, staff are helpful and friendly

Review 73:It's a huge hotel, lots of people... But staff is really helpful as usually in Japan, and it's very well located. Our room was upgraded with no extra charge, it was big and confortable. Matresses confortable as well. Wifi in the room, worked well. I'd repeat if visiting Tokyo again

Review 74:Friendly and helpful staff, good location with wdlking distance to shopping centre. Good restaurant with excellent teppanyaki seafood and beef. Presentable room.

Review 75:Outdated and shopworn furnishings, price of hotel restaurants, elevator banks separated floors by segments, elevators closed way too fast after pressing floor - man almost crushed baby due to poor timing.

Review 76:Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great location, close to transit, close to but not in the middle of all the action, rooms were quiet even close to the elevator.

Review 77:Inflexible when it comes to any changes for example the wish to enjoy breakfast in the Hotels's breakfast facility instead of an external Restaurant.

Review 78:Best Location, noble accomodation, quiet night, very good bed, good breakfast.

Review 79:Lack of communication from the hotel-I had emailed 3 times prior to our arrival requesting an early check in time due to our flights. No response! When we arrived front desk staff were rude and bluntly told us nothing they could do till 2pm. We asked if there was shower facilities and even though they have a full gym, swimming pool and charging facilities we were told we couldn't use them till we had checked in. Not expecting this reaction from a 4 star property.

Review 80:location, close to the subway and JR line which was brilliant for sightseeing. Our room was a good size and well maintained. Cleaning staff did an excellent job

Review 81:Noisy neighbours!

Review 82:I was very grateful that when I asked for a room change due to noisy neighbours, I was immediately given an alternative room without any hesitation on the hotel's part. I really appreciated their understanding.

Review 83:Checked in from 17-22/9 and 24/9. This hotel impressed me of their big and tidy rooms, good facilities and cleanliness. As I was travelling with a disabled person on wheelchair, we needed special services and the hotel provided an excellent service and outstanding support to him.

Review 84:No bad experiences

Review 85:Mother and grown up daughter found the hotel perfect for our cause. We wanted comfort without having to pay too much and good communications to all the places we had planned to visit. The location ringt by the Shinjuku railway station is perfect. At the same time the location was very calm, surrounded mostly by offices. Many good authentic restaurants nearby. Pickup place for our Mt Fuji Tour made it conveniant not to have to travel the early hour of the day.

Review 86:Wish that they provide coffee instead of just green tea

Review 87:We stayed at the main tower for the first part of the trip and the rooms were very nice, but the south tower rooms were very dated. Location is great, very near the Tokyo metropolitan government building and Shinjuku station. Easy to find eateries at the station and the hotel has a mini mart which is really helpful to have

Review 88:The hotel is huge but for 3 buildings it has there are only 2 sofas at the lobby. So if you meet at the lobby or have to use your laptop or whatever you'll probably have to sit at one of the 20 chairs along the wall... Also the bars and the skylounge (with spectacular views) close very early!! You can't have a drink at midnight...

Review 89:Location in Sinjuku was just perfect, right near nice streets with lots of restaurants. The station is very near with a huge shopping center. The view from Delux room was exciting!! The room itself was big enought. The transfer to the airports is very useful too and costs same as JR or metro. The personnel was very polite and helpful.

Review 90:The staff were excellent...I had left something at a previous hotel in Kyoto and they arranged without any problems, the forwarding of those items to their hotel. I was very relieved.

Review 91:1) Too many groups, so it took us more than 1 hour to check in. 2) We stayed there for 5 days, we had the same breakfast e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y!!!!!! We inquired for change from western style breakfast into Japanese style, but much to our disappointment, they refused to offer us any choice!!!!!!

Review 92:Rooms area bit small. Washroom feels like all plastic. Rooms a bit old and sligtly dirty.

Review 93:Very close to train station. Very polite staff. Free wifi and very good speed. Bus to Narita and Haneda Airport all day. Centrally located. Free ride to Disney Land.

Review 94:Staff were so rude!!! Though I speake both English and Japanese when we asked them for something and they didnt know or do not have they won't use the hospitality terms such as 'we apologize we don't have this or that/ can we assist you with something else' or simply find you a solution, no! They will simply say no or we don't have and hang up the phone! I was about to go down and give them a lesson on how to talk to customers since that's what I do for a living! But when you do they do not seem to understand what you are saying and their manager found it ride to tell them they are not doing things correctly Also they lack information on where about of places and as I speake Japanese, it was faster for me to look into their guide books and other means of guideness and find the train and routs to the destination much faster! (P.s. it took them 15 min to find me a location of a restirant 2 min walking distance from the hotel) They ask what time you would like to check out and no matter what time you chose they will say you must check out at 11am ..... Then why bother asking me (I have checked in and out 4 times during our three month trip) If you order from room service they won't change anything from the order and if they don't have somethjng they will simply say 'no no no' ans hung up! They won't allow you to have home delivary They told me its ok to take over 4 bags on the limousine bus to the airport and on the day the bus driver said no while I was getting on the bus and almost missed my plan coz we were discussing the issue of an empty bus but 5 bags !!! Again staff staff staff is our only issue though we never faced any issues with staff in any hotel all over Japan specially 5 star hotels! There is a lot more to say but not enough space to write

Review 95:Walking distance from train station about 5-7 min but you won't feel the festa mce after gojng there a couple of times. Close to many department stores and jihad hi shinjuku where everything is located They offer boxes to send your extra stuff by mail to you home country using the hotel's address as the return address which most hotels in Japan do not offer such service

Review 96:Keio plaza was a beautiful place to stay, very clean in a good location not to far from the train station. staff are friendly and help as much as they can.

Review 97:We lived at main hotel .And I think the room is a little small .Guess the rooms in south hotel will be larger.

Review 98:The Tokyo City Hall is opposite this hotel. So you can have a great sight when staying in Keio Plaza .ps Shinjuku Station is near here, transportation is totally convenience .Tokyo will touch your heart.

Review 99:I found the location of the property very close to Shinjuku Station, which made it easy to use the public transit system to go to other parts of Tokyo. The department stores nearby provided a very good shopping experience.

Review 100:The price is a bit too high regarding the services offerred.

Review 101:The facility is very comfortable. Staffs were able to perform their job perfectly. Impressive location as it is only a few minutes walking from Shinjuku station.

Review 102:Fantastic place to stay, extremely handy for subway lines, sightseeing and shopping. It felt at the centre of things but was also an oasis of calm. We have stayed elsewhere in Tokyo previously but this is our default from now on.The staff could not have been kinder or more helpful.

Review 103:We requested connected rooms because we have small children. Only when we arrived they told us they didn't have any and it took ages to find two adjacent rooms. Very poor vegetarian dining options, and no flexibility from staff to slightly change dishes to make them vegan. Rooms were OK-ish, would have expected more for the price. In room breakfast options were soon overbooked for specific times.

Review 104:The minimarket on the lowest floor makes up for the almost empty minibar in the room. Location is good.

Review 105:Renovated room still have a little bit impression of the old room especially in the bathroom.

Review 106:Comfortable bed with spacious room. A very kind bellhop escorted us to the room and explain a few important things regarding the hotel facilities.

Review 107:The bathroom was a little outdated but manageable compared to the room which was newly renovated.

Review 108:Our renovated superior room was very spacious and accommodating for three people, three single beds were made and there was even an area with a coffee table and two sofa chairs along with the computer chair. Also there was plenty of closet space.

Review 109:I felt that the manager who checked us in was a bit snooty and wasn't as accommodating as he could have been given the amount we were paying. This was my third stay at keio plaza and the third time the pool wasn't available.

Review 110:Good location and views. Glad to have option of late check out even though Saturday night fully booked.

Review 111:Breakfast too crowded. Need a bigger room. Staff in the lobby cafe are nice but a little difficult to get answers about our dinner questions because they didn't understand much English.

Review 112:Good location. The room is clean and good amenities

Review 113:The fitness center was very poor. For a top hotel, this was very disappointing. The overall experience was a bit too impersonal. There were no friendly people to greet us, just a line of serious Japanese men and women whose etiquette felt more robotic than human. You need more staff who are less worried about how their English sounds and more concerned with the comfort of their guests. Front desk felt a bit like a processing plant.

Review 114:The location and cleanliness were satisfactory. The view was very good. Receiving the Japan times Newspaper (in English) in the morning was a nice personal touch. Fantastic Newspaper.

Review 115:Lack of seating areas at the main lobby.Room rates are a little pricey.

Review 116:For us, the location was perfect, all the things we need are a short walk away-food,shopping, train station, sightseeing. Even the view from our room was perfect.

Review 117:They have facility that have swimmingpool after they want 25 USD and next the refuse u use the area or take of t shirt if tatoo but forget to tell this in information before people make booking. Some staff arrogant reception and staff pool very bad. Room dull and cheap looking like 1 star u get nothing for u money. Not go there

Review 118:The lobby was nice nothing else

Review 119:Lobby needs more seating areas , sometimes you came tired and wanted to seat for a little while and lobby was full with suitcases and tons of tourists .Last day decided to eat breakfast at the hotel , very expensive and buffet was poor I would not recommend it We had stayed at the Hilton Seahawks in Fukuoka and the buffet over there was fantastic so the one at Keio Plaza did not cut it.

Review 120:I like the toiletries , the cleaning staff was great , everything was done so tastefully and never saw them . Like the bathrobes and nigth shirts.

Review 121:Hotel location was ideal. Short walk to shinjuku station and there are lots of food around. The room size was great (I booked 2 superior rooms with 3 beds as we have 2 children age 5 and 7 and 4 adults) but the beds were super single sized so the kids could actually share one bed. Room size is spacious and staff service was excellent. Booking.com service was great too giving prompt responses to multiple queries.

Review 122:Initially placed in a smoking room - my mistake for booking it however room was dirty wih stains and smudges all over the walls, carpets and sofa. Small and claustrophobic, 2-3 star standard.

Review 123:Booked smoking room by mistake which was horrible but staff accommodating and paying small amount extra got upgraded to a lovely, modern, spacious room on top floor. Great location and good choice of restaurants

Review 124:Likes most of the hotel, you have to sign up again to get the Wifi when you back to your room. This is a bit annoying . It is a very big hotel so people are everywhere , if you are looking for something more quite and elegant , this won't be your choice .

Review 125:It's just 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the station and all the shopping mall. In-room massage service until 2AM which is very amazing.

Review 126:wifi connection a bit slow at times. it also suddenly gets disconnected.

Review 127:hotel is located near shinjuku station and tokyo metropolitan tower. staff are friendly and helpful. there are a number of good restaurants in the hotel.

Review 128:A bit far from train station for someone who travel with heavy suitcase.

Review 129:I really love convenience store in this hotel. They also sell duty free merchandise include Disney merchandise as well.

Review 130:Staff most attentive and accommodating to local visitors and not especially engaging or inviting towards foreigners .

Review 131:Amenities in hotel weregreat . Location perfect ...

Review 132:It would have been better if the hotel can accommodate extra person with extra charge even if without extra bed provided. This would have saved our friend from getting a room in another hotel since his budget cannot afford a single room at Keio.

Review 133:The facilities and amenities live up to expectations. Staff are friendly. No hard time for concerns.

Review 134:This is a very big hotel, so do not expect any 'personalized' attantion

Review 135:Plaza Luxe room was nice, quite spacious and well equipped. Great views and acess to De Luxe Lounge Good location
