Reviews for Armour Motor Inn
Review 1:bugs up in corners and spider in my hand when I took a towel from bathroom shelf (not good for someone that does not accept any creepy crawlies in the room!)
Review 2:loved the pool and owners are very friendly and helpful, room was clean (besides bugs on ceiling corners) and looked modern
Review 3:Manager was friendly, responded immediately to a very minor problem, and gave very helpful suggestions re food etc. Ideal location just off main street. Unit at rear was quiet. Grounds and room both well maintained.
Review 4:Parking area a bit of a trek to upstairs rooms; noisy bathroom fan, noisy air-conditioner.
Review 5:Motel close to main shopping area and it has a good swimming pool.
Review 6:No bad experience but as the room was dark and the lighting not strong, it was very difficult to plug in appliances as plugs at back of cupboard - also because of darkness it was very easy to pull out the fridge plug by accident.
Review 7:Very clean and owners were very helpful and welcoming. Also, owners were very keen to have feedback re putting in more crockery and cutlery as this was lacking. The position is very convenient as right next to shops and cafes.
Review 8:Excellent location. Quiet room with comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Friendly hostess who told us about four options for eating that were within walking distance.
Review 9:Location cannot be beat, the staff were super friendly, facilities were all you need and the accomodstion was great value for money! Highly recommend!!!
Review 10:perfectly located in town, beautiful grounds that are well tended, Warren and Fiona very welcoming and friendly. Rooms spacious and comfortable and well kept
Review 11:We were there for Oktoberfest and the sound carried a bit from revellers drinking out in the picnic area but we expected this and it wasn't a big deal.
Review 12:Friendly welcome at reception when we arrived. Great sized room and comfy bed!
Review 13:The bed was like laying on a block of hot cement, it was the worst bed I have ever attempted to sleep in. Not much sleep that night.
Review 14:The room was nice, the staff were great
Review 15:Really nothing to dislike here
Review 16:We have stayed here at least five times and have been very pleased with the motel and it's owner/resident managers every time. There is no catering but with the amount of good eateries in Beechworth this is not a problemat. We love the place
Review 17:It was a fantastic stay.Everything was very satisfactory. Lovely room, good friendly service. Most importantly the location - just walking distance to the shops and restaurants.Love to be there again.
Review 18:The bare brick look is classic for Australian motel rooms but it can be a little gloomy.
Review 19:A great, centrally located motel. The staff members were friendly, the place was very clean and had everything we needed. We stayed in a family room and were all very comfortable.
Review 20:The parking was a bit tight but we understand that there are limited spots available for guests, and the noise from the hallway gets a bit loud too with guests walking through!
Review 21:Love the outside areas of the hotel as well as the Roos, always clean, neat with ad ons such as ironing board and fan! We will be back!
Review 22:A nice motel and suitable for an overnight stay while traveling. Comfortable, quiet, and clean. Located within walking distance to the town centre and shops, etc.
Review 23:Was a toaster but no plates or knives so we didn't bother buying bread for toaster
Review 24:Great location, great shower, comfortable, warm and bonus electric blankets.
Review 25:we would have liked two reading lights - one each side of the bed. Our room only had one lamp.
Review 26:When we booked in and were given a first floor room I explained that I requested ground floor and this was arranged. I then requested another room as the adjoining room had two children and it was noisy - another room was arranged, thank you
Review 27:not a bad experience, just that toaster and kettle were awkward to use due to lack of space where they were stored
Review 28:room was clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful
Review 29:The location, easy to find, quiet. The owner was really lovely and so helpful when we had to be let back into our room at 11:30pm because we forgot our key.
Review 30:a suggestion of an improvement would be to provide coffee bags or maybe Moccona instead of the nescafe instant :)
Review 31:The room had everything we needed and was very comfortable, warm and quiet at night. We had a really good sleep.
Review 32:Toilet seat sounded like a "whoopee cushion" every time you sat on it LOL!
Review 33:This was a nice basic motel right at the historic town. Bathroom was a bit on the small side, though shower itself was a good size. Owner indicated he was having temporary trouble with Wi-Fi but it worked fine for me (and free). Fair price for this type of accommodation - would book again if return to town.
Review 34:The location in the town centre meant taking break from driving. We walked to the Pub next door for an excellent evening meal, and amazingly there was no noise from the pub at night.
Review 35:Clean, friendly and best location in town. Best part was you didn't need your car to visit the town, yet the location was quite with a peaceful outlook
Review 36:The location in the centre of Beechworth could not have been better. We were given a choice of rooms which was welcome. Initially we were concerned traffic noise might be a problem, but our concerns were groundless - the night was very quiet.
Review 37:Smokers congregate in garden area. Smoke can enter rooms above. Too bad if you don't smoke and wish to use the small, public lawn...
Review 38:Cleanliness was okay.
Review 39:The way Fiona welcomed and looked after us. We had a babysitter for our children whilst we attended a wedding and she was good enough to look in on them and check that all was OK.
Review 40:from the presentation of the room to the friendliness of the staff, to its spectacular location, if I return to Beechworth I won't be staying anywhere else! I loved it here! Thanks everyone who helped our stay, it couldn't have been any better
Review 41:Since we booked on line several weeks earlier we felt that we should have been allocated a better room perhaps ground floor facing the courtyard not upper floor facing the road. I note that a casual couple followed us in and didn't book and got a better room... Not good practice. I felt exploited.
Review 42:Beechworth and surrounds
Review 43:Only bad thing was the lack of parking. We went out on the ghost tour and by the time we got back there was no parking spaces left at all. So much so people in the reception area and in the driveway.
Review 44:Staff we great, rooms very clean, bed was comfortable and location perfect
Review 45:Great place to stay owner very helpful re wineries in area to visit. Beechworth wonderful historic town great brewery great food great ice cream and GREAT wine tasting experiences
Review 46:The location was excellent, we were able to walk to everything. Also the garden and the fact that we were able to open a door straight out onto the garden and sit in a very tranquil setting was such a wonderful experience. The linen was white and crisp and very clean also a very nice large size clean bathroom. A very spacious room and a large screen TV with excellent reception. Our stay was peaceful and we plan to stay there again next year.
Review 47:A very nice motel close to everything within walking distance. Very quite, the room was clean, bed comfy so had a good nights sleep, the staff were friendly and helpful. We were only there for an over night trip for the ghost tour which was good. Recommend to all.
Review 48:The whole stay was awesome. Staff went out there way and beyond to be as helpful as they could. Room was awesome with a door leading out to a lovely garden area.
Review 49:Found the bed too soft, but this is probably just personal preferance
Review 50:Great position, helpful staff & fantastic garden area good for bbq's & eating great fish & chips from the seriously good fish shop , The Aged Frog. We had a lovely few days at the Armour. I
Review 51:No negatives for us.
Review 52:I loved that we were so close to everything on the Main Street. Lovely garden to relax in as well as the pool. Clean and roomy. Great staff. Character of the building reminiscent of the old days. Close to everything.
Review 53:Parking spaces were small, no kitchen facilities in a family unit, no plates/bowls, cutlery, need to visit reception if you want wifi password. Unit dark with not enough natural light.
Review 54:Location meant we could walk and leave the car. Staff were very helpful and gave good sightseeing tips. Bathroom facilities good very clean and well presented unit
Review 55:that the pool was closed due to filtration problems (I know there was nothing they could do as there was no trades person available between Saturday and Monday) - which was very disappointing on a day with 36 degrees C, even the owner offered to pay for admission.
Review 56:Location is great, very clean room and very pretty garden where you can sit in the shade or sun. That it offered a pool (especially when we went on days with high 30 degree temperature) - still we can honestly recommend the Armour Inn and will certainly go back ourselves.
Review 57:Noisy traffic if you are on the road side, fairly early in the morning.
Review 58:Great location, great advice, out of the way to help with plates and knives for our picnic.
Review 59:Comfortable, clean room and bathroom. Nice and quiet. Well appointed with tea and coffee making facilities and breakfast available. Lovely green garden
Review 60:Nothing
Review 61:An attractive & clean facility only a few hundred metres from the Beechworth bakery, two hotels & everything else within the main strips. A nice small pool is a bonus.
Review 62:That we didn't book longer.
Review 63:The location to the main part of town. The motel is located a minutes walk from the famous bakery. The room was clean and the hotel owners were so friendly! We are booking again for another stay!
Review 64:Unfortunately, the room was not available when we arrived. A computer glitch meant that our room had been given to someone else. The proprietors were very helpful in finding an alternative place to stay, which I am sure wouldn't have been as nice as Armour.
Review 65:We only stayed one night....but in our short stsy the owners where amazing. Suggested places to eat, tourist places to visit and allowed us to park our motorbike in a motorbike friendly spot.
Review 66:Breakfast in the room is ok but space to prepare the meal is a little cramped.
Review 67:Welcoming staff. Just a few hundred metres from town centre. Very good value for money. My own balcony.
Review 68:The bed was horrible it was so hard. We both ended up with little sleep and bad backs. It was also very noisy, both road noise and from other guest entering their rooms. Parking was limited with no lighting. The iron was hopeless and not hot enough to be any good (cheap iron) and there was on foam on the ironing board.
Review 69:Staff were very friendly.
Review 70:Shower was very average, no pressure kept going form cold to boiling (not good when you have kids)
Review 71:Good location, really friendly staff, good value for money. I would stay there again.
Review 72:Our family room was perfect for our needs. The motel is perfectly located to walk to the local shops and restaurants (which are great). The motel has very pretty grounds and there are plenty of walks close by. No complaints what so ever.
Review 73:There is nothing I didn't like it was perfect.
Review 74:The warm welcome you receive on arrival. Fiona the owner makes sure your stay is comfortable and your needs are met. Very clean. Highly recommend the amour motel 10/10
Review 75:It's a fairly basic place; you don't expect (or pay for) five star features. Nothing really to dislike.
Review 76:Great people on the front desk; location nearly centre of Beechworth; reasonable price.
Review 77:No soundproofing whatsoever! Not pleasant hearing everything happening in next room. Showers also very noisy in next room. Noise also from traffic and hotel across the road.Lumpy pillows. A real shame as a lovely place otherwise.
Review 78:Lovely room, comfy bed, great location,
Review 79:The owners were very helpful and very easy to talk with, and were especially very helpful at every opportunity, and certainly do go out of the way to be of assistance
Review 80:We have such a good mattress at home that we find it difficult to have a restful night. The beds are small and Mattress to hard.
Review 81:My husband and i had our two teenage granchildren with us for a couple of nights in Beechworth. We found our room so Cosy and warm as July weather was very cold. Yes we wold stay here again!!
Review 82:It was the most expensive compared to the other 5 motels we stayed at on our trip from Canberra to Hobart and home again which were all of similar standard.
Review 83:family room good with extra room for single beds separate from main room. Was nice and clean. Staff helpful.
Review 84:Great location, rooms have pleasant courtyard view, very helpful staff.
Review 85:Quite and facilities (pool)/close to town centre
Review 86:We had a very enjoyable stay in a lovely, clean room in a fantastic location
Review 87:The motel was booked out and when we arrived the owners tried and succeeded in changing our room to a downstairs location to accommodate our needs.
Review 88:the decor was quite dark and not a lot of room to make coffee on the bench space provided.Pleasent
Review 89:location
Review 90:Friendly staff, well run and clean establishment. Clearly well looked after.
Review 91:Friendly staff, location right in town. The room opens out to a lovely garden and a pub with good meals right next door.
Review 92:Great location in main street but also quiet and dark at night. Lovely little swimming pool and very friendly staff
Review 93:Friendly and helpful reception. Good pool and comfy bed.
Review 94:Noisy air conditioner.
Review 95:Small comfortable and clean rooms. Close to all amenities. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Review 96:nothing to fault really - our one complaint would be the lack of good lighting in the family room
Review 97:Friendly owners, convenience of location to town
Review 98:The position was picturesque - right beside a stream and bushland.
Review 99:I have a big 8 seater car when car park is full hard to turn a round
Review 100:close to town, clean & comfortable beds
Review 101:Very comfortable accommodation centrally located.

Review 112:nothing
Review 113:Good location with up-to-date amenities
