Reviews for Abel Tasman Cabins Devonport

Review 1:i had to wait for the cleaner for 40 min on arrival to clean the cabin i bboked for 12 arrived at 12 15 sat outside in the heat the cabin was full of ants

Review 2:quiet place

Review 3:$120 is the most I have ever paid for a caravan park cabin which was very tired. Very old and run down Did the job but with accom at a premium they are creaming it

Review 4:Close to ferry terminal

Review 5:Door to bathroom kept falling off. Nowhere to place items in bathroom (needs a shelf) and needs another hook for hand towel (which wasnt provided). A netting curtain over bedroom window would help privacy. Apart from these things it was adequate. Would have preferred to pay a little less for this cabin and increase value for $s Microwave - could only get it to heat for30seconds at time. Other settings did not appear to be operational. At the end of 30 sec it made a really loud 5 beeps (with no way of stopping it). Bit annoying when you're needing to heat something for say, 3 mins!

Review 6:The sound of the sea at night. Close to Devonport. The bed was super comfy. Couch comfy. Staff very warm.

Review 7:No iron, hairdryer or heater in bathroom. Smallish hot water cylinder - would not last for more than 2 quick showers. Very dated and not terribly secure - window screens falling apart. No screen on sliding door to cabin - steep stairs to get into cabin - not good for anyone with mobility problems.

Review 8:Roomy cabin. Electric blanket on bed. Good shower, separate toilet. Oscillating fan provided.

Review 9:The Hot water in our cabin ran out after 1 shower.

Review 10:Easy to find, convenient, Close to the beach, Laundry facilities available. Friendly Service, very helpful.

Review 11:No information pamphlets in cabin for location of food or takeaways close to park. No local map of area for travellers to find takeaways etc if arrived in area late eg off the Spirit of Tasmania.

Review 12:Convenient location to the ferry terminal. Staff were very nice.

Review 13:What was advertised wasn't received!,no wifi as stated in the ad,unfriendly office person, heating was inadequate,no room to put clothing/luggage.

Review 14:No wifi at all - never has been apparently. Old dated cabins with bunk beds that are less than normal single bed size. Terrible accommodation

Review 15:Nothing

Review 16:poor kitchen and other facilities, no heating or cooling. Staff claimed there was only WIFI in town centre, when I fired up my computer there were at least six networks in the area.Priced as top of range but facilities nearer bottom of range.

Review 17:Location is probably all it has going for it.

Review 18:Everything! Shocking, shabby, small cabin, bathroom so small you couldn't stand in there to brush teeth, had to stand half in the bedroom, accessing the toilet was a danger to kneecaps!

Review 19:Proximity to ferry terminal

Review 20:No aircon. (Seems to be the norm for Tassie). No iron or iron board. Main Bedroom seemed to slope backwards, so felt weird when trying to sleep. Mattress abit on hard side. Only there for one night so didn't get to use any facilities in the caravan park.

Review 21:Great location for viewing the Spirit as she arrived. Family cabin roomy.

Review 22:The cabin was very clean and called a 'luxury' cabin. Quite comfortable although the mattress was a bit soft for us. Only one reading light in the centre above the bed so not easy when one person wants to read. There was a camper van parked right next to the bedroom so could hear the people talking but they didn't stay up late.

Review 23:Not really a bad experience, but the hotplates in our cabin on our return stay were VERY slow to heat anything

Review 24:The location was perfect for the ferry, it was very peaceful, and the views and places for walking were great

Review 25:The cabin was of a good size the bedroom was good. Bathroom for a deluxe cabin was small with ants in the cistern. Kitchen had a microvawe and a hotplate and taoster and a very small table to eat off. 2 very uncomfortable chairs as part of the furniture with a small T.V. to watch. No Air conditioning in cabin

Review 26:The closesness to the boat in the morning and once we got to Devonport and stayed the night.

Review 27:Poorly located in respect of public transport. Ferry over the river no longer runs, It is impossible to find a bus timetable or bus stops --let alone a bus!!. Staff should be more aware of public transport options not to mention Devonport Visitors Centre that has information on its web site that is either useless or out of date. Hate to think how one would warm the cabin in winter

Review 28:Space in the cabin

Review 29:Was advertised as luxury cabin, but was average and the floors were not too clean. Overall was not unhappy

Review 30:Location was great, cabin was average for type of facility.

Review 31:The bedding set up wasn't exactly as expected but was remedied fairly quickly with good grace.

Review 32:The location and price was excellent and amenities were very comfortable. It was nice to be out of the built up area with parkland outside the door.

Review 33:The 'lounge' was so uncomfortable I didn't use it and so had to sit on dining chairs for relaxation. Being disabled I noticed the lack of any sort of hand rail to assist me getting into cabin

Review 34:Bed was comfortable

Review 35:Drinking glasses were dirty and one was cracked. There was only one wine glass.

Review 36:It was (apart from the drinking glasses) very clean and comfortable. It was nice to be able to park right outside the front door. It was very convenient to the centre of Devonport.

Review 37:Between sheets at footend revealed dirt, dead insects and a large spider. No heat pump, only oil heater. (Too long to heat unit).Curtains too short. No spare blanket.Cups needed scrub before use. Paid extra for Deluxe unit but doubt if it was. 32inch TV shrunk to a much smaller one than advertised. Unit faces opposite direction to view. (Reason we booked in first place). Positioned next to boundary fence against men's public toilet. Bedroom window faced toilet and childrens play ground few feet away. Uncomfortable and no privacy. Curtain had to remain closed and it was in poor repair.

Review 38:Close to walking tracks.

Review 39:The electric blanket did not work on one side of the bed, and on the other it barely worked. The bathroom was very cramped which could have been an issue for someone with mobility problems. Overall though, good value for money

Review 40:The cabin was clean, the staff friendly and the area (generally) quiet.

Review 41:Very roomy cabins, linen provided, clean, quiet location and close to ferry.

Review 42:It was in a caravan park. Not what we were expecting. It just was not that nice

Review 43:It was close to the Ferry to Melbourne

Review 44:# 7 had a 100mm hole in the main window Fly screen.

Review 45:Accessible and Available

Review 46:The happy hours shouldnt be near cabins. Especially for those leaving for the boat early in the morning

Review 47:Cabin was dated and could use a refurb. No linen for the sofa bed. But overall good.

Review 48:Location, friendly staff and quiet with easy access to beach

Review 49:Staff didn't know that we had book as it was booked through booking.com. Ants were crawling all over all kitchen surfaces. Dirty bathroom.
