Review 1：It was pricey for Thailand, for what it was. It had a rustic feel, nothing fancy, which is fine, but it seemed expensive for that.
Review 2：A charming, peaceful place on a beautiful beach with excellent snorkeling right there. The bungalows were pleasant enough, as was the bar and restaurant.

Review 4：Horizon Resort is located in wonderful location with amazing views next to lovely sandy beaches. Bungaloos were tiny but charming. I liked the possibility to use snorkelling equipment and kayak for free. It is also possible to rent a motorbike to explore the island.
Review 5：We refused the first room we were shown and were told we would need to upgrade which we did (for no extra charge) but the better bungalow was still basic with a small bedroom (c. 15m2) and a rudimentary bathroom in an outhouse at the back. This might have been charming had it been well done but like everything else it is shoddy and run down. No hot water, no tv, no WiFi, no tea, empty minibar, door to bathroom rotting and sticking, overpriced restaurant. (Eat at the Dusita down the beach where the food is better, the portions more generous and the staff friendly) The staff here are disinterested and the owner seems depressed - and with good reason ! He has a mammoth task to get the place in hand. we've stayed in places like this in the past but not at £55 / 75€ a night!
Review 6：The position is superb on a promontory at the end of the bay with excellent sandy beaches and good snorkelling. The manager is very friendly and helpful BUT the bungalows were a big disappointment.

Review 10：Very nice location, very helpful owner. We could use a Kayak and snorkelling gear for free ! You can rent scooters at the resort (same price as everywhere else) and they are quite new, if you want to explore the island a bit. Breakfast is included and served as a buffet - perfect as you can chose what you like. They also have a very nice bar (sunset bar) near the beach; its a peaceful place for people who like nature. The resort also has a good restaurant (a bit expensive though, compared to the local restaurants around). [If you want to party the whole night then Kho Kood is not the right destination for you.]

Review 14：The setting is picture perfect, with decent snorkeling and crystal clear water right off the short dock. The manager Fabrice is as good as it gets, helped with everything we needed and was a wonderful presence. The massage was terrific, and the ambience quiet and serene. Stunning views, great sunset bar. Free snorkel equipment and kayak. A perfect place to relax.

Review 18：Very beautiful location, with a more than 180 degree view of the sea and a nearby beach. Very quite and calm. The staff are polite, friendly and would do what they can to fulfill your requests and ensure your stay is confortable. Room was comfortable and clean, although basic. The food in the restaurant was good and the view was great. We found the breakfast to be pretty good (hot dishes, toasts, fresh fruits and fresh juices) and more than sufficient to start the day.

Review 23：the beautiful area on the rocks, with flowers and big threes that gave nice shadow daytime, the resort has nice bungalows with different views all surrounded by the sea, rather god snorkelling just by the shore and best of all the jungelfeeling in the quiet nights with all the tropical sounds. Close to two beaches, only 50-100 meters. Wonderful island! Easy to explore with a bike, not much traffic, beautiful rivers were you can go with a kajak. Nice owner and staff. great bar were you can watch the sunset. Close to other resorts.

Review 27：A very relaxing place with exceptional views. The new Lounge Bar with all its platforms on the rocks is a perfect place to view the sunset or chill-out at night. The nearby beach is beautiful especially in the part north of the pier (5min). The extremely friendly and helpful owner have the attitude of providing a relaxed and quite atmosphere, really a nice place to stay.

Review 33：The management team seems really unprofessional and service is bad. For example, I enquired for help organising a transfer to Ko Kood from Bangkok. They referred me to a website to book a bus. When I wrote them again to tell that no one is ever answering my emails/phone in the bus company, I was promised that they would call for me and arrange it. That never happened, and it turned out the information given on the webpage was out of date, so me and my boyfriend had a lot of stress and had to overpay just to get there. We also tried out the Yoga they were praising for guests, without ever being told we had to pay 500 bht per Person for it (contrary to massages etc., which was very clearly marked). That is pretty pricy for Asia - especially considering that it was more of basic stretching and I highly doubt the "teacher" ever had any professional Yoga education.

Review 36：The horizon resort is very much reflecting the relaxed and easy going atmosphere of Koh Kood Island. It is located on a slope facing the bay so most of the houses do have a very good sea view. The decoration of the bungalows is simple and nice. The restaurant serves good food and has a big terrace overlooking the bay. There are further activities like Thai massage and yoga classes available. The owner is a very nice guy taking good care of the facilities and was always helpful by giving some good advice about the island. We had a very pleasant stay and would come back again anytime.
Review 37：I don't know why the reservation of booking define diffrent price for two days room rate, I stay longer than booked days and I had to pay upon the higher price as the rate the booking defined for the last day.

Review 47：The surroundings of the hotel are very messy. It would be nice to have a beautiful garden to walk through. The room was filles with ants. Please update the room and shower. Use concrete but more design look and buy another shower. This one is more for backpackers. If you ride tp the hotel you ate afraid you made a bad booking. So please do something about the entrance with lights and clean up the area. Breakfast had some choices but a lot of things cpuld not be made. How is a possible that youre out of fruit? We were off season and it would be a better stay if they did their best for each guest. It ia not possible to swim in the sea because of sharp rock which you can not see. It wpuld be nice to see some nice coloured pillows on the chairs outside. In general it needs some extra attention and design.
Review 48：This hotel has a good location with a nice view. There are two beaches on each side.i really liked it that there was free coffee and tea in the restaurant area. Breakfast had pancakes. Towels smelled really nice and clean. I like the private sunning areas build around the area.
Review 49：Koh Kood is very hard to get to, especially off season. As a result, we ended up having to shorten our stay by 2 nights because of difficulties with the ferry. This wasn't the resort's fault, but it would have been useful to have some info from the resort as soon as we booked informing us that there would only be one boat a day to access the island. The wireless was also down for our entire stay, which was very inconvenient. Stéphane kindly allowed us to share his phone wireless connection for essential correspondence. Our room also seemed to be missing a TV - wires hung out of the wall where the TV ought to have been. This wasn't a huge problem, as we don't watch much TV, but it was nonetheless a bit isolating to be without both TV and internet for our entire stay. The food was a bit limited at the restaurant, and the breakfasts could have been much improved. The restaurant was out of a number of items we tried to order, and even basics on the breakfast menu, like muesli, were not available. This made it difficult to eat well!! Eating during the day was also difficult because of the large number of flies. It became a race to eat quickly enough to beat the flies to our food. These issues aside, we really enjoyed our stay and we expect that a number of these problems came from the fact that we were there in the off season. We hope to find some of these things improved the next time!
Review 50：We enjoyed our time at Horizon Resort in Koh Kood. We were there in the rainy season, although fortunately we had very little rain, so the resort was very quiet and we had our pick of locations to watch the stunning sunsets. The beach was lovely, and we appreciated the free canoes and kayaks available to guests. Stéphane, the owner, did whatever he could to improve our stay. The location of the resort is perfectly situated near a beach with great views of the water and the sunsets. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We hope to return soon!

Review 70：Rooms were little old, but fair! Just pretty disappointing, that in five days it was only cleaned once! As I scratched my leg, a little blood got on the sheet in a very obvious spot - the room service had us enjoy it for the whole stay! Bathroom was very low quality level! (Very old and open shower tab next to the toilet). Staff partially nice, but almost no English skills! Particularly the receptionist was really rude, but the only contact with at least some English skills! The hotel has no beach, nor swimming pool! Apart from the diving, it could find anything special about this place - still needs a lot of work! Therefore I cannot understand the positive judgements of that many people! Even the food was not good - but next door was a nice little hotel, with good good food! I regret to be that harsh, but it was quite a disappointment!

Review 73：Bungalows with outsidebathrooms built a little bit above in front of the top of palmtrees give a relaxing laidbackfeeling. We also prefer the jetty built into the sea with wooden platforms to a sandbeach with sandflies. If You prefer a sandy beach its just a fiveminutewalk. The frenchowner Stephane is extremly helpful, if You are lucky he spears some fish for You.

Review 75：The ferry operator did not load one suitcase, but it arrived a day later in good condition. This has nothing to do with the resort. They helped us and made sure we go our things.

We can only recommend this place. After renovation in 2 or 3 months this will be a very nice place and we will surely come back.

Review 85：We stayed at Horizon for almost a week. The staff was unprofessional and very unkind. Never smiling unless they had to. No good mornings or hellos. If the owner wasn`t around the resort workers were just lost about everything. Breakfast was served cold because nobody could use the gas heaters and food ran out if the owner didnt tell the staff to bring some more. The staff mixed up reservations about taxis, massage and so on. When the hut was cleaned there was no toilet paper, not enough glasses or cups for all of us, not enough clean towels. The huts are also quite old and worn down, they need repair. Our terrace had big holes and the balustrade was dangerously loose, almost falling apart. Restaurant was ok but because of the unfriendly staff we used other restaurants close by. I have nothing good to say about the owner. He promises alot but he won`t keep his promises. If you are french he might be friendly towards you...
Review 86：Little comfortable but not any luxurious huts or bungalows located on a rocky shore, nice scenaries especially in the evening. Little sandy beach at the resort next door if you need one, but the rocky beach is better for snorkeling. Free Kayaks and masks and snorkels. Good little shop close by to get some food and drinks.

Review 93：1) Nothing we particularly didn't like. The outdoor bathroom is beautiful but does attract insects and doesn't offer a very clear view because of the cissus on the walls. Also 2 out of 4 nights we had a gecko in our room making some loud noise. 2) We didn't have hot water after a certain time at night. Review 94：1) Firstly and most importantly, Ko Kut is a great island. It is unspoiled and we hope it stays that way. We are a little concerned that it might end up like Ko Lipe, Ko Phi Phi etc, as we saw construction activity in various parts of the island. We hope that doesn't happen & it is great at the moment (January 2014). 2) Horizon resort is at a very good location in Ko Kut. Not too far and not too close from the port and has an easily accessible road. 3) The bungalows (we had #2) are at close proximity to the water and the sea view between palm trees and other tropical plants is beautiful. 4) The breakfast was good and had some additions from day to day. Tea and coffee were available throughout the day at no extra cost. Diving masks with breathing tubes at "like new" condition were also available at the reception at no extra cost. 5) Stefan, the owner was very welcoming and willing to help whenever possible. Also he seems to be constantly improving the resort. 6) It's great that you can rent a brand new Yamaha scooter for 300 BHT / day, at the resort. The best (and maybe the only) way to explore the island and visit beaches and restaurants at different resorts across the island. 7) The Shantaa restaurant was great and the Ao Phrao restaurant (not the buffet, just the regular menu) and beach were also great.
Review 95：The staff was always kind and helpful, but had no experience in a western way of dinner. For example it was almost impossible to get a starter in Before the main course (we tried different strategies, but...)
Review 96：The new manager is fantastic. We felt very welcome and it was truely joyful to stay at Horizon. We prolonged our stay to 11 days. It is good that you can walk to other resorts for dinner, as you might want variation. There is ongoing upgrade of the outdoor area, it will be good when completed.
Review 97：We kind of missed a bar or a place to hang out after dinner, so we spent quite a bit of time at the resort next door, but I believe there are plans to build a bar later, as the owner hasn't had the resort for that long. Food at the restaurant was ok, but there is better food (and probably worse also) to be found on the island, and drinks were a bit cheaper in other places as well. The blanket was much too short (and I'm a short person), I would definitely recommend getting bigger blankets. The bathroom outside was a welcome change, but it is a little creepy at night, with the trees right above, and there wasn't much water coming from the shower and the tap, although that didn't really bother us that much. There are two very nice beaches close to the hotel (one left, one right), but since the tide was high in the morning, they weren't really usable until late in the afternoon, and then you still had to watch out for coconuts. Since the resort only has a few deck chairs in the sun, this might be something to keep in mind. There is a very nice beach next to the river though, which is easily accessible by kayak or motorbike.
Review 98：The staff was very friendly and gladly provided us with all the necessary information and maps, the owner also made sure to double-check if the pick-up for the boat was arranged, he did everything to make our stay pleasant. The location is pretty good, although the resort doesn't have a beach, it's a perfect spot for snorkeling, and there are nice beaches nearby (although you should watch out for the palmtrees, coconuts are pretty dangerous). We rented a motorcycle and were even given a discount because we brought it back around noon, and we used the free kayak for half a day to go out on the ocean and on the river. The bungalows were nice, quite spatious and clean with a properly functioning air conditioning unit and fridge. Breakfast was what you would expect in Thailand for this price range: decent, but nothing special.
Review 99：Most of the time the place was a quiet piece of paradise. Just the Peter Pan Resort, on the other side of the bay, had some special evenings with loud disco music. Fortunately this stopped latest at 10pm.
Review 100：The owner is very friendly and helpful, and so is his staff. The view from our horizon bungalow was fantastic. We loved the open air bathroom. The free breakfast was very good, the food in the restaurant excellent. A big advantage was that there are no sandflies at all. This is simply because the resort is built on a rocky piece of the coast, 80m away from the sand beach. We have been at the resort at the same time as Hanna, but we do not agree: The curtains were entirely tight, really dense. Possibly, Hanna has mixed up the curtains with the (very useful!) mosquito grids in front of the windows. Of course, the mosquito grids did not hide the inside well.
Review 101：The view from the bungalows which are more behind is not really good. I knew that it would be not in the first row but I thought the view would be nicer. All in all it is a little on the expensive side compared to other resorts in Thailand where we have been considering that is relatively basic. I am sure that the owner will do what he can to improve - he just bought it a half year ago.

Trat is not the place where you want to be stuck... its a bit difficult to get to the beach, you have to climb the rocks a bit and you stay at the neighbour-resort-beach then. but the beach is nice. the wood of the walkways is old and rotten so better be careful, but I think it will be repaired bit by bit.
