Reviews for Pedras Da Rainha
Review 1:When it rained, a lot of water came into the bar and one of the guests was mopping it out. The breakfast included lots of items, but I would have preferred to choose just what I wanted rather than being served everything and so wasting most of it.
Review 2:Lovely feel, lots of outdoor area, short walk to the village, and a free boat to the beach. Staff were very helpful, with good English. Wifi in the common areas worked well.
Review 3:This is essentially self catering accommodation which is ok but when you are only staying a short time it would be very helpful if small quantities of washing up liquid and cleaning cloths and other items were supplied. Room is sparsely furnished.
Review 4:The location is good. A ten minute stroll to the sea front. Nice to have a balcony.
Review 5:Accomdation very tired, oven very difficult to light, bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. We actually had to buy two new pillows. Resort is pet friendly and the bungalow had a nice little patio but it wasnt gated so we couldnt let the dogs out there so a little disappointed. Thought it was quite expensive in relation to the accomdation standards.
Review 6:Location was lovely and Cabanas very close. Staff friendly and helpful. Resort facilities good.
Review 7:Our room faced on to school and busy road so a little noisy. Kitchen compact
Review 8:Loved Mediterranean climate and boat provided by complex to beautiful beach. Staff were very friendly, efficient and informative. Lovely pool and gardens
Review 9:The overall kitchen facilities were very good, however the cooker and hob were very old and in need of updating as they were only adequate for cooking very simple meals.
Review 10:We have been staying at the Pedras for many years and enjoy the open spaces and gardens. Breakfast and evenings on the veranda is lovely (except when the gardener's sprinklers keep heading in your direction!).
Review 11:Didn't like apartment number 60 as it never seemed to get any sunshine, however we were moved the following day to apartment number 120. It was great.
Review 12:This was our 4th visit. We enjoy everything about it. There is a relaxed friendly service. Will be back again.
Review 13:lack of adequate lighting in room, crawling with ants. Taps would not fully turn off, beds uncomfortable. Fittings very very tired.
Review 14:it was convenient for the village and they did take pets, grounds were maintained well.
Review 15:No bad experience at all. However kitchen was dated but functional.
Review 16:Stayed for a week in 2 bed apartment. Was very private and peaceful and complex quite central to cabanas strip. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food in pool restaurant was gorgeous and good selection.
Review 17:Single beds only on a concrete base, comfortable but immovable. Swimming pool full of children all day.
Review 18:Paid for breakfast in restaurant not good- instant coffee and fake orange drink. Snack-bar is better.
Review 19:Kids club could have looked more inviting. Breakfast very poor.
Review 20:Lovely Pool with helpful lifeguards. Great tennis courts. Villa was roomy and secluded
Review 21:I didn't like the price that's not fair for the services that they offer. The room was not well prepared for our staying. The system of hot water in room don't worked well,
Review 22:The location is very good.
Review 23:The free wifi in the bar was very very slow.
Review 24:Warmly welcomed on our arrival. The resort is well maintained, clean and relaxed. The free train and boat to the beach was very welcome in the July heat.
Review 25:Internet weak in uncomfortable sofas. Unequal cleaning. Pool full of kids jumping around.
Review 26:Little train and boat to the beach. The market of Cabanas and supermarket at Pedras. Reception staff.
Review 27:There is no 'do not disturb' sign and the cleaner walked in as I was sleeping. The shower was very 'tired' with mould and the whole bathroom really needed to be upgraded. I had a small terrace but it overlooked the main Cabanas Road and the cars parked at the resort. I would have been very unhappy had this been my main holiday. The staff in the on site bar were not friendly and I had to chase them for my bill. I think other rooms and apartments would have better views and maybe more up to date facilities after looking at other reviews.
Review 28:The location was good, close to a Spar and the lagoon side with bars and restaurants
Review 29:The boatman to the beach was rude because we turned up to be taken over to the beach 2 minutes before 1pm- his lunch break; but it only took 1 minute to take us there and for him to get back to the dock in time for 1pm. He also left two Portugese women at the dock and waited until they were at dockside and then left them behind. Our maid was a bit lazy- she made up the beds and changed the towels but never cleaned the floor, or swept up any of the dead bugs on the window ledge. Take lots of mosquito spray. We got bitten every night. Not all the facilities advertised were open in early June such as the restaurant, or the train to the beach boat dock.
Review 30:Loved the prettiness and peacefulness of the resort. We had a one bedroomed villa (41D). loved the rustic style with the fireplace in the lounge area.had small flat screen satellite TV. This villa had a new modern kitchenette and was very well equipped for self catering. It also had a large secluded terrace. Reception staff were excellent. We had a couple of very minor issues when we arrived which were sorted out immediately. The gardens were immaculately kept. The onsite supermarket was a blessing- reasonable priced; well stocked and friendly helpful staff. We tried the 2 local Spar supermarkets (one immediately outside the back gate of the complex) and were not impressed- looked like a plague of locusts had hit the shelves! The beach was lovely- you can rent a palapa and 2 loungers for 15 euros for front row and cheaper the further back you go, or just take your own parasol and sit on a different section of the beach. Overall this complex is excellent value for money, and will be great when the restaurant is open for the summer and they have some entertainment on in the evenings.
Review 31:Breakfast seemed very expensive & had to guess what might have been available as there was no menu.
Review 32:Nice little "village" of fincas , all low rise with plenty of space and grounds. Lovely bathing roof on the one we had. Main restaurant area a short walk to the sea front... Some exceptional restaurants & not too busy. Getting to beach by boat was easy & quite good fun & didn't have to wait too long. Pool area very clean & nicely laid out. A bit chilly ( it was April so what do you expect!?) . Useful little supermarket in the complex. Perfect for short Easter break. Great facilities for teenage kids.
Review 33:Nothing
Review 34:We loved the simplicity of the complex and the green open spaces. Although the accommodation was fairly basic, it was clean and everything we needed was provided. Also, it was only a 5 minute walk to the promenade.
Review 35:Property was very dark inside even with shutters open (black kitchen units did not help). Would have preferred table and chairs to breakfast bar and stools - adjustable stools kept sinking! Not really enough clothes storage for more than 2 people.
Review 36:Location. Kitchen appliances (washing m/c, dishwasher appreciated). Crockery and utensils all good.
Review 37:The restaurant inside the resort took to long to serve the meals
Review 38:All restaurants that I went to had good choice of foods and the portions were quite big
Review 39:The room was tiny, poorly laid with two beds, full size used as sofas. One chair Uncomforable. Hard beds, too many cats about. Old rooms, old kitchenette. Too basic.
Review 40:Pool,excellent staff, facilities. Food, excursions, parking, closeness to the front and cafés and bars
Review 41:For the price there isn't anything I didn't like, just don't expect luxury!
Review 42:Pedras has a great location in Cabanas, set in lovely gardens, nice pool, free pass for boat to the beach, friendly staff, towels changed nearly every day, maids came every day bar 2, free wifi by the pool bar. Quite quiet when we went at the end of October but I expected that, there is a self service laundry on site 4euros a wash, just lovely.
Review 43:The resort of Cabanas is a real hidden gem of a place, and Pedras Da Rainha is the ideal base to explore this traditional Portuguese fishing village. The gardens are immaculate, and so peaceful. For the price you pay with the facilities you get, then it's a real bargain. See you again soon!
Review 44:Arranged for luggage to be collected on checkout but computer was not checked. Had allowed 30 mins before our transport to airport was due but due to inefficiency we were 10 mins late had I not have checked would have missed transfer.
Review 45:Villa 62a was very well appointed. Very comfortable for 3 adults roof terrace was an added bonus
Review 46:cafe prices on site been double what they were just outside. plus due to small windows not a lot of natural light coming into apartment and interior lighting not very bright. But these were minor issues
Review 47:lovely big apartment very close to the beach and beautiful gardens around the complex.
Review 48:Good selection of well run facilities Exceptionally efficiently run site Prompt & pleasant problem solving Pleasant and courteous staff always Well laid out, spacious and nicely maintained site with lots of open space around accommodation
Review 49:The Room was a little bit dark and a big tree in front of balcony
Review 50:Friendly staff and great place to stay. the pool was very nice and well maintained great facilities.
Review 51:The mattresses were rather hard and the pillows a little flat, but I took a topper for the bed and my own pillow so it was ok.
Review 52:The setting of the apartment/villa 21a was within easy reach of restaurant etc, although there are many a lot further away. All in all it was a good base with adequate facilities.
Review 53:The bed was a bit hard. There was no coffeemaker. Small television.
Review 54:nice location, close to the town and beach. nice swimmingpool and tenniscourt. shop with good prices. The boattransfer to the beach was nice. Very quiet when we were there. The cleaning 5 times a week..
Review 55:This is the third time we have stayed here. It is very quiet and the grounds are spacious and well looked after. It is well positioned for a gentle stroll into the town. Free boat transfer to the super beach is a bonus. The pool and pool area is very good. Staff are so friendly and helpful if assistance is required with taxis/car hire, etc. The properties are quite dark inside due to their older design but this makes them cool and comfortable. Cabanas is a small compact town with the boardwalk along the estuary being the centrepoint. Great for walking and birdwatching.
Review 56:1 bed apartment was very small. Bathroom was poor. Terrace furniture past it's best. Apartment was very dated & apart from the kitchen which looked new, in desperate need of updating. Considering we were only staying for 1 night, we were staying in apartment at furthest end of the resort.
Review 57:Children liked swimming pool. Well kept & pretty gardens.
Review 58:On-site bike shop very restricted hours. Pool mostly used by younger children (but we still enjoyed it.) Outdoor furniture could have been nicer and more comfortable.
Review 59:Two bedroom villa spacious and clean. Patio and rooftop terrace. Grounds beautifully landscaped. Pool and market on-site. Easy walk to town, boardwalk and casual authentic restaurants. Quick boat ride to the beach.
Review 60:the reception is useless, The 2 PC for internet access were out of order, the bar/cafeteria was orrible
Review 61:The resort is close to many activities
Review 62:Location near Cabanas and the beach.
Review 63:Every thing was fine, nothing to complean
Review 64:Couldn't get heating to work.
Review 65:Good kitchen. Good state of decoration. Lovely grounds. Helpful staff.
Review 66:The accommodation was amazing the providing the perfect relaxing holiday we wanted.
Review 67:Cleaners showed up in the evening a lot Also had an encounter with a rat that wasn't pretty

Review 69:The area is unspoilt and everyone friendly
Review 70:sunbeds

Review 72:Loud music from mobile phone around pool.. This should be forbidden.
Review 73:The beaches, Tavira, the restaurants nearby
Review 74:near the sea
Review 75:nothing
Review 76:The location is perfect, only 5 mins walk to main strip. There is a shop 1 min walk also which is handy and saves lugging heavy bags around
Review 77:Very basic & slightly run down 'hotel'.
Review 78:Great location
Review 79:cleaners getting to our room very late in day..sometimes after 7pm
Review 80:Train to beach and free boat pass
Review 81:Thecleaning and the very old mattresses
Review 82:The loccation and the reception staff
Review 83:Permitem animais de companhia ;) Cães no nosso caso ;)
Review 84:Nothing.
Review 85:Wonderful villas and great restaurants nearby with a fantastic beach only a five minute walk away.
Review 86:one member of staff in the bar a bit miserable

Review 94:Beautiful grounds, full of bougainvillea, feeling of space, with maximum of two stories high!
Review 95:The weather could have been better
Review 96:We have been three times but this room was the best one
Review 97:Dark apartment No cover on terrace
Review 98:Pool Gardens Privacy Central location Good supermarket Efficient and helpful staff Easy bike rental
Review 99:A bit in need of an update.
Review 100:Good location. A lovely beach and boat ride to it.
Review 101:supermarket and restaurant closed before june 1st
Review 102:Well kept / located attractive premises. friendly english speaking staff . appt very cool in hot weather . and well equipped cleaning service good also..
Review 103:Nothing to dislike
Review 104:Site was very well maintained and kept clean and tidy.short walk to river at Cabanas with their own water taxi to take you to the beach. There is also a road train that runs down to the water taxi at set times.
Review 105:Cant fault anything.
Review 106:I loved the location and the scenery around this complex. Its so peaceful and only 10 minutes to the seafront. The terrace was beautiful and I loved the way we could sit out and enjoy bbq without people looking in on us. It is very child friendly and reception and bar staff extremely helpful and catered for all our needs. I would highly recommend this hotel for families and will be returning.
Review 107:We thought the food in the bar wasn't that good and was quite expensive by Portuguese standards. The restaurant wasn't open (we were there too early in the year) but that really was the only thing,
Review 108:Fantastic time of year to be at Pedras Da Rainha as a lot of the properties were empty so it was very peaceful and quiet. Pool was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was excellent, met our needs (2 adults and 2 14 year old girls) and the kitchen was well stocked with a big fridge and even a dishwasher. We had a wonderful holiday and loved how close to the village of Cabanos we were, Beach was great also!
Review 109:Lots of ants and dead insects in villa
Review 110:The free boat to the beach. The villa was in a quiet location. Only 5 mins to bars and restaurants. Children's pool was good. The villa had all the things we needed
Review 111:Snack Bar prices for food are out of touch with the rest of the place. Basic Salads at 7 Euros and a coffee with fried egg on toast a fresh orange juice with a standard toast 7 Euros 50. You can have a Grilled Sole and Sea Bass with a tomato and onion salad with a 2 litre bottle of water and an expresso for 28.50 euros in a good restaurant by the Ria.
Review 112:Been there a few times already, place is excellent for a good get away from it all break.Few minutes down the road excellent restaurants and across the Ria a fantastic beach.
Review 113:The rooms are too dark and old, specially the bathrooms. And the cleanliness is quite poor.
Review 114:I love the fact that you can bring your dogs with you. Pedras da Rainha is a perfect place to chill with family or friends, quiet, peacefull and very well located.
Review 115:Pity bar prices and restaurant were a bit expensive .so we didn't u bar or restaurant as a short walk away u could eat cheap.
Review 116:Loved the space and how quite it was.we stayed in 180.old Portuguese style apt.very cool so sleep very good.
Review 117:We loved the fact that it is very peaceful and quiet. The beach nearby is more than amazing. In addition the small kitchen was fully equipped. It is difficult to find a place where we can have our dog so it was a huge plus to our choice. Excellent value for money if you want something quiet and simple.
Review 118:As we were self catering, we found the kitchen was a bit inadequate. Would have preferred an electric kettle to an old "whistler" !
Review 119:The location & setting is excellent. The accomodation is basic but clean.
Review 120:Ants everwhere even in food ... soap & toilet paper was a little scarce..
Review 121:It was my first time, the complex has good layout, individual houses, shop is near, first of many stays @ Pedras da Rainha I hope. Great place to relax & chill Weather was Super !!
Review 122:The whole place is very dated, its in need of whole refurb especially the bathrooms, ours was moldy & toilet was blocked!! The photos arent a true reflection!!!
Review 123:Its close enough to walk to beach and bars.
Review 124:Our first apartment had ants - a lot of ants!! Food and drinks in the bar/restaurant were far too expensive, this meant that none of the guests ate, drank or socialised onsite very much. Beds were very uncomfortable - at the price I would expect matresses that don't appear to be 10's of years old!!
Review 125:That when we had problems the staff resolved them quickly and politely.
Review 126:It would have been nice if the sun had shone a little more!!
Review 127:The accomodation was recently modernised, the site is beautiful, the pool large and clean. The setting is perfect for exploring the Eastern Algarve. I have been visiting Pedras da Rainha for over 20 years - it never fails to impress.
Review 128:The only thing wrong with our stay was that it was not long enough.
Review 129:The 5th time we have visited and definitely not the last. Location is quiet, setting and surrounds are fantastic and staff could not be more helpful and pleasant.
Review 130:we went in April it was so quiet and relaxing, but with plenty of restarurants within 10 minute walk. the evening walk along the broadwalk is a must. We like self catering and there was so much provided you could prob knock up a roast, if you wanted to. the balcony was lovely and the little boat to the beach free with hotel pass.
Review 131:No 'view' as such. That's about it. You could clearly stay at trendier, flashier, more luxurious resorts - but it's not that kind of place.
Review 132:laid back, friendly, helpful, bowls!, private, nice part of the world, always had hot water, clean, great for the price we paid, relaxing, quick and easy to get to town.
Review 133:+ Rooms smell (stink) from dampness/ mold and wood burning fireplace+ Kitchen is fully equiped by is missing cleaning supplies, such as dish soap, sponges, etc. + No internet in rooms or free WiFi in reception + Reception stinks from smoking + Old and decreped
Review 134:+ Location+ Grounds are beautiful + Villas are spacious
Review 135:the tv and heater in the rooms, the unreliability of the Internet in such a modern area,
Review 136:the friendly helpful desk staff, the little town, the closeness to other towns, the water in the hotel
Review 137:The apartments have satellite tv, but only German channels, nothing atall in English - no big deal of course, but it's nice to have cnn orbbc World News just to keep up to date.
Review 138:The apartments are ideally located, just a short walk from Cabanaspromenade, and, in the other direction, the train station. Not all thefacilities were open in February, but we had everything we needed for anexcellent holiday. The apartments were clean and tidy and set in lovelywell-kept gardens. Cabanas itself was lovely - we recommend the walk toTavira (about an hour through the salt flats), Also the walk along thebeach - past the fort in the direction of Monte Gordo is very beautiful. Both Monte Gordo and Tavira are well worth a day trip - easy by trainfrom Cabanas.
