Reviews for Hotel Jo Van Den Bosch

Review 1:Renovation in progress.

Review 2:Very close to the station and the city center, in a quiet neighborhood, nice and cosy room, enough space in the room, the bathroom was all new.

Review 3:Bathroom is new but the room needs a new look as it is very old style. There were works going on so probably they have realized it.

Review 4:The owner is a really kind person which helped me to move around the city. If you are traveling for business there are some nice restaurant 10min walk from the hotel.

Review 5:Unfortunately we stayed during a heatwave so no aircon was a letdown. A bar fridge would have been handy too. We stayed a Saturday night so be warned if there is a party next door - it can be noisy!!!

Review 6:We were only there 1 night but the owner carried our bags to our room and because we had to leave early, we missed breakfast but he gave us a lift to the station which we appreciated.

Review 7:Everything was fine, especially coffeemaker at the room and fruits at the reception :) Location is great for visiting concerts at W2 club :) And there is a nice place to drink beer till late right next to the hotel.

Review 8:Not much to complain about. Watch out for the extra city taxes added to the room price, but this isn't the hotel's fault as they all do this in Holland.

Review 9:Very welcoming, friendly staff. The room we had was comfortable and had a really good coffee machine, TV, comfy armchair and desk. Access to the balcony is a good bonus. Breakfast continues fairly late and is pretty good for a small hotel such as this. It includes juice, coffee, cooked eggs/bacon, and a buffet with cold meats and cheese, cereal, yoghurts and fresh breads (including an excellent Stollen). It is extra to the room cost, which we liked as it gave us the option to go elsewhere or sleep in.

Review 10:Walking distance from RR station half way to Brabant Hallen. Charming hotel with very efficient and very kind patron also running the breakfast in a verry individual super-friendly manner.

Review 11:Very friendly & helpful owners.Leisurely stay from check in to check out & close to centre as well as railway station also places to eat, drink close by.The rooms are comfortable & bright, bathroom & shower very clean. All in all a good experience.

Review 12:there was a "toeslag" on the bill for 6 euros (it was not the tourist tax), we don't know why it was there, wasn't specified

Review 13:clean, spacious room, nice bathroom, good location, parking next to the hotel

Review 14:Run by a family.. Nice homely environment.. The hosts Mirand and Joop were very helpful & accomodating even though I checked-in out of hours.. Ideal location & very near to city centre.. Will definitely stay again if I visit Den Bosch.. Highly recommend to all..

Review 15:It seems that isolation is not so good. Rooms are a bit cold and you can here someone walking in the coridor like he is in the room.

Review 16:Rooms are very clean, cosy and designed with taste.

Review 17:This hotel is runned by a family. Very friendly and helpfull stafmembers. Perfect breakfast for a good price. The room was good and clean. Our stay was great.

Review 18:Big and quiet room. Senseo coffee maker in room is nice touch. Hotel next to Verkadefabriek concert hall, close to railway station as well. Friendly service. Somewhat old place, but with charm.

Review 19:Wish I could stay longer!

Review 20:Ideal location - between the Brabanthallen and city center, easy walk from train station. Besides the neighborhood restaurants, it's 2 doors down from the "Verkadefabriek" arts center, which has great beer, good espresso and excellent food, and is open late (perfect for us jetlagged Americans!) Joop and his family are very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is worth the money, the bacon and eggs, fruit and coldcuts are all very tasty.

Review 21:comfortable room and good service. value for money and we would stay here again when visiting family. Would recommend

Review 22:Shower has no privacy, no place to put your soap

Review 23:Location, staff, spacious, clean, cozy

Review 24:My room was the 1st room next to stairs, so I could hear everyone walking up at all hours.

Review 25:Location to train station, city center. Outdoor deck.

Review 26:Brand new room, very friendly staff.

Review 27:Small rooms

Review 28:Great breakfast, Great stuff

Review 29:under reconstruction

Review 30:Location to centre of town. Friendliness of owners

Review 31:too few coathangers !

Review 32:bedroom size & quality was equal to best big chains

Review 33:The peace area of the location.

Review 34:Location

Review 35:Breakfast good, good wifi, room very clean. Location good.

Review 36:Breakfast, central location.

Review 37:Room Breakfast

Review 38:The wifi was disconnecting all the time, so rarely could use it properly.

Review 39:Nice family hotel. Rooms in perfect condition and staff very kind and helpful.

Review 40:Soft bed

Review 41:Good bathroom and shower Nice staff location ( close to train station)

Review 42:Very friendly staff

Review 43:Corridors and doors were a bit stiff and worn. Rooms not soundproof.

Review 44:Friendly and flexible staff, comfortable bed. Would visit again!

Review 45:Paid parking outside hotel

Review 46:Joop and Miranda (hosts/owners of the hotel): very nice people Breakfast

Review 47:Basic room, only a coffee maker instead of kettle so we couldn't make tea.

Review 48:Convenient location, very helpful and friendly staff

Review 49:Nowhere to put your stud and clothes.

Review 50:The service was friendly.

Review 51:very poor Wi-Fi; very noisy; once hot water stopped going

Review 52:location; friendly staff; the presence of an iron and a kettle

Review 53:The door was missing to one of the ensuites

Review 54:Friendly staff, good breakfast, well postioned for the centre

Review 55:A door on the bathroom would have been a bonus!!!

Review 56:Location excellent for main rail station and walking into town.Parking might be an issue if you couldn't get right outside; otherwise it's 1.50 Euros an hour. The bar itself wasn't open the evening we got there so we had to go in search of food.

Review 57:Wifi is free but almost unusable on the 2nd floor, elsewhere where there's good connection is also severely limited in speed, not really suitable if you need to do work

Review 58:Good location, friendly staff, ample parking spaces (paid under city tariff until 18.00)

Review 59:Wifi din't work for me though did for my friend. Seems to be a problem with my phone.

Review 60:Nice balcony from our room, though shared with other guests. Coffee in the room was nice.

Review 61:I missed some flowers in my room or something like that but maybe I ask too much now.

Review 62:The service was great, very personal. Excellent breakfast, even a homemade applepie, fresh orange juice etc. The room was fine, the bathroom was very good. I certainly come back!

Review 63:A bit outdated rooms, but clean and very nice hosts.

Review 64:Very nice host. Also great breakfast and not so expensive as normal. Very close to city centre and railway station. Recommended !

Review 65:The room and hotel generally reminded me of backpackers- and hostel accommodation. Needs refurbishment really.

Review 66:Service, friendly and efficient checkin / checkout. Room very basic but clean. Bed comfortable. Good tip from staff about nearby restaurant (in old Verkade factory - can highly recommend).

Review 67:No bar or restaurant at 7.45pm. No plug for basin. Broken / loose floor tiles in bathroom. Missing shower door replaced by curtain. Very noisy - could hear people entering / leaving their rooms and somebody's television that was still on at 3.30am. View out of window was to fire escape / metal wall. No instructions for safe and staff didn't know how to use. No on site parking though there is parking nearby that you have to pay for during the day. Staff not present a lot of the time.

Review 68:Close to conference centre. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 69:Lovely hotel with a family atmosphere. The couple running the hotel made us feel very welcome. Rooms were clean and comfortable. What more could you want?

Review 70:Meet Joop the owner! A great Den Bosch Guy!! He is the friendliest ever. The hotel is old. But the friendlyness. The freshly pressed orange juice, the fresh warm rolls and croisants. And the friendly touch and a smile of his beautiful daughter make up more then this!!! Go there

Review 71:Room needs decorating, repairs and updating. Stairs are very steep and not suitable for older people or those with any mobility problems.

Review 72:Manager was very helpful when I discovered a bad water leak in the ceiling in my room. Fortunately, I could move to another room. Bed was comfortable and clean, so was the bathroom. Good breakfast.

Review 73:Minor details: Sound proofing of our door could have been better.

Review 74:The owner was very friendly and the service was excellent. Breakfastwas great value. First Dutch hotel I've been to that has goodcoffee in the room!

Review 75:Could have done without the narrow staircases but the one thing that really stuck in my mind was the temparature : despite the heater being turned on all the way the room was fairly cold all the time. Add to that the fact that the shower did not get warm at all and you have the makings of a weekend in a fridge not a hotel

Review 76:The friendly staff and the very convenient location

Review 77:The check-in (had to wait two hours) the lack of cleaning; there wereintriguing stings on the carpet as well as a shower that was almostsharing it's last drop.. The 'terras' on the outside lookeda bit like a junkie dump-yard.. I believe it is perfect for truckdrivers and their friends if you know what I mean..

Review 78:The checkout..

Review 79:The room appeared not to have been refurbished for some time although others that we saw were better. The furniture was limited and tired. The bed had no head board. The light fittings were poor. There is little in the way of sound-proofing. The en-suite bathroom was better with modern fittings but the shower controls gave few options. The room rate was quite expensive for the quality of the accommodation and compared to GB rates. Breakfast was an extra cost.

Review 80:Very friendly staff and owner. We felt quite welcome. The hotel is situated quite close to the city centre and an easy walk to the railway staion. A reasonably quiet location.

Review 81:Parking, arriving late in the evening was very difficult. Large parking next to hotel but fully occupied. The rest of the neighbourhood: only private parking for residents only.

Review 82:Small hotel. Simple but fresh breakfast.

Review 83:Nothing that I did not like.

Review 84:Quiet location easily accessible from central station. Very good value for money, run efficiently yet aimicably by husband and wife team. Good sized spotless room. Breakfast splendid, large variety to choose from. Highly recommended.

Review 85:I did not like the fact there were no staff there after 8pm (in themiddle of summer). Luckily, I rang before I arrived and the receptionisttold me that she was about to go home but would wait for me. I don'tknow what would have happened if I had not rung beforehand. I normallydo not ring. I could not get the WiFi to work but had no one to ask. Icould not get an iron but had no one to ask. In the morning, I got upearly to get an iron but the lady could not find an iron. This is afirst for me. Not being able to iron a shirt. This is obviously not thehotel I should be staying at! I was also charged more in tourist taxthan it said on Booking.com. It was only 3 euro more but the principleis important. Again this was a first for me!

Review 86:For the price, I would have expected reception to stay open later than 9.00/9.30pm.

Review 87:Good location, 5-10 mins walk from railway station and easy to find. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Easy Wi-fi connection. Good breakfast.

Review 88:Extremely noisy, either traffic at the frond side or the other hotelguests as it's an old building and even though the windows are new, theydon't cancel the noise.

Review 89:Rooms were clean and well decorated

Review 90:Single beds, very soft.

Review 91:A nice big room. Free wireless internet. A veranda to have a smoke. Aflat screen tv. Coffee maker in the room. Staffed by theowner/operators. Prime Den Bosch location - a six minute walk to thetrain station. A solid value.

Review 92:There is no elevator, so I recommend requesting a 1st floor ifstruggling with heavy luggage. No problem if travelling with only asmall amount of luggage. Useful to have a plug in the bathroom for thebasin, but I always carry my own. Not so inviting when the staff aresmoking at the reception area.

Review 93:I stayed 3 nights & found the hotel to be very comfortable with apleasant brasserie downstairs at street level where I enjoyed a lovelydinner & wine on one night. The buffet breakfast is also served there. My room was cheerfully decorated in blue & white with a "touch of Dutch"picture above the bed. It was a quiet room set back from the street & Islept very well. The bathroom was modern & I liked the style of theshower & wide window sills. The location is very good, close to publictransport in one direction & a pleasant stroll alongside canals to theold quarter of the city & market area. A cinema is almost next door witha vibrant cafe & bar plus more restaurants nearby. A complimentary mapcan be printed at the train station guiding the way to the hotel.

Review 94:Not so satisfactory.... quality / price not so good.... Room very old furnished, feeling of dust everywhere..... The lady attending at breakfast was not so polite and gentle as she shouldbe ....Cost of breakfast excessively high respect to what offered. I do not think I will retrun in this hotel in future trips to Den Bosch.

Review 95:Position 5 minutes walk from city center.

Review 96:The location brought back memories of my daily walk to school when Ilived in Den Bosch in the early 50ties. We lived near the Michelinfactory. My sister and I went to school at the Maria school next to theSt. Josef Church.

Review 97:Nice staff, good breakfast, fair price, beds OK.

Review 98:Friendly reception Close to station

Review 99:Very friendly staff. Very good location!

Review 100:Very friendly owner

Review 101:Very nice, quiet place. Want to come back.

Review 102:Perfect personal

Review 103:NOTHING

Review 104:All of it...

Review 105:Kind staff, Great value for money. Couple of minutes from railway station. It was clean and comfortable.

Review 106:Extremely kind owner who greats you at the door and carries your bag to the room. That doesn't happen often.

Review 107:Very friendly staff!

Review 108:Miranda and Joop are very friendly and accomodating. Would highly recommend.

Review 109:The staff is really friendly....hotel is close to market and station....navigation became really easy

Review 110:Friendly reception. The room was quite spacious, compares very well with London. Wifi ran smoothly. A great breakfast.

Review 111:The service was very good! Room is very quietly. The position of the hotel, is near the station and the center of the city

Review 112:The room will need a repainting.

Review 113:Great location, near the central station and city centre. Miranda and her husband were very friendly and helpful.

Review 114:Hotel room lighting rather dim (unfortunately like many others!)

Review 115:Convenient location for town
