Reviews for La Soffitta Sul Mare

Review 1:2.5 km from Vietri up a hill. No bus Sunday or after 10pm so need a car. They should mention this. Breakfast only sweet cakes. Some bread or fruit would have been good for those who do not like sugar.

Review 2:Fantastic view and a great place. Wonderful terrace and lovely owner

Review 3:The B&B is not easily reacheable, a car is mandatory for everything.

Review 4:The staff is friendly and the whole B&B is clean, tidy and looks like recently renewed. The view is very beautiful and the commont spaces are large.

Review 5:If I absolutely had to find a problem I would say access but that's just picking holes really as we managed easy enough, it was just a bit tight in the car.

Review 6:The place is beautiful, Carmen is fantastic, the freshly baked breakfast is wonderful! As for the view, I couldn't put it in to words.

Review 7:Not great for people that arent well travelled and cant grasp public transport.

Review 8:Perfect for people looking for the true Amalfi Coast experience. The village or Raito is perfect and quiet. No tourists. Easy enough access to the bigger towns via boat from Salerno and plenty to do if you want to stay quiet and local. Carmen is an excellent host and goes above and beyond to make you welcome. The rooms are great and the terrace is a highlight. Great views of the coast.

Review 9:If you come by bus, be prepared to walk for about 10 minutes to the B&B. You'll have instead a great view of Vietri sul Mare and Salerno to keep you company on your walk, so in the end it's win-win.

Review 10:Carmen was a really nice host, helping us with our bags and anything else we needed. The rooms are modern and very, very clean. A bonus is the amazing view from the terrace. If you are touring the Amalfi Coast by car it's a 15-20 minute drive to the beach from the B&B

Review 11:The mattress is very firm. Breakfast is minimal. Not a piece of fruit in site.

Review 12:The home is beautiful and well done. The view is incredible. Carmen is very kind and helpful.

Review 13:Getting there is a bit difficult you need to have a very small car, some courage and a phone to call the hosts, then you get there and it's amazing

Review 14:The view, the rooms, the location, the service, definetely would come back to spend a nice weekend

Review 15:1. The owner Carmen and her father in law. 2. The balcony and the view all around. 3. Elegant dining lobbing room. 4. Protected parking. 5. Very close to village center and restaurant by foot.

Review 16:The b&b is really beautiful. Set up on the hill with a spectacular view. It is exactly how you see it in the pictures however better in real life. Quality finishing throughout and Carmen is lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. Highly recommend staying here.

Review 17:We went with a car (l know, crazy idea!) and the place was almost impossible to find (even with the help of a Tom-Tom). No real parking facilities.

Review 18:Decor, views, very clean .... Carmen is very helpful and friendly

Review 19:Arriving at night it was initially challenging to find La Soffita-so traveller tip would be to make sure you know exactly how to get to this wonderful place-It is worth finding it!Fresh fruit of some form would be a great addition to an already special breakfast:)

Review 20:This beautiful B&B is fresh-well managed and maintained- a perfect place to escape to or use as a base for exploration. The views from the rooftop patio are astounding. Our hostess was super friendly and engaging-breakfast was an Italian delight-fresh baked treats every morning:)Thank you for an amazing stay!

Review 21:Nothing really. I would just advise that, if driving there, you do it in the daylight the first time as it can be a bit tricky in the darkness if you're not used to the narrow and old streets typical of this area.

Review 22:The location is great, the view and sense of peace you have from the rooftop terrace will make you forget the effort to drive your car there. We arrived very late due to some flight issues and were welcome by a gentleman that, despite being late at night, took the time to chat with us showing us the terrace and the view and telling us about the place and the surroundings. The morning after we met Carmen, a very attentive host that makes you feel like the most special guest. Breakfast was great on the roof terrace, with home made cake and great coffee. The place is incredibly clean and well arranged, a lovely blend of antique and modern.

Review 23:If you are driving your own vehicle the smaller the better as the road is very narrow. However after becoming acustom to driving in the region it starts to be fun.

Review 24:The accomatation was squeeky clean and refreshing. The decor of hand made ceramics is a nice touch and fitting for the region. The view is magnificant.

Review 25:Air con a bit weak Wifi weak Parking limited road to guesthouse very narrow Finding the place even the taxi driver struggled, no obvious sign. Bed a bit too firm, had sore back But my partner was fine. Staff do not speak English No view from bedroom

Review 26:Great view from patio Owner friendly and helpful Room clean homemade breakfast cake delicious

Review 27:Breakfast could improve. Very simple

Review 28:The view and the personal attention we received. It was very clean!

Review 29:I felt like I was at home. It's not staff it's a family.

Review 30:Kindness/nice landlady and fantastic breakfast!

Review 31:Atmospheric view, accommodation.

Review 32:This b&b is beautiful - very comfortable, great view, tasty breakfast. Carmen is very friendly and helpful.

Review 33:Comfort, friendliness, food, view!

Review 34:The place is not close to the restaurants.

Review 35:Staff are very helpful and the place is great including a balcony with a incredible view.

Review 36:huge number of stairs, as much as they want to assist, carry bags is a nightmare. it is family B&B and as such family live downstairs...... real narrow streets to drive your car to the place.

Review 37:view from the hotel roof. family B&B so they are very kind and trying to assist. they have private parking - make sure to reserve as limited capacity.

Review 38:Impossible to find, even with GPS. No signs, tiny village roads with hairpin turns, nary an inch to spare for the car. We finally got out and walked to find the hotel.

Review 39:It was lovely, clean, modern, comfortable. Great breakfast with comfy common room, lovely view of the sea from terrace. They arranged a car to ferry us to a great agriturismo for dinner -- but it was a hair-raising ride, like a roller coaster! We could never have done it ourselves!

Review 40:To find the place ..

Review 41:Great location, beautiful view and great host. Loved the recommandation to have dinner at agritourismo Il Cavaliere di Conti: great food!

Review 42:The location overlooking the Amalfi Coast and Salerno was fantastic! The owners were very kind and helpful, and served a wonderful breakfast in the lovely breakfast/living room.

Review 43:The house can be a little difficult to find and driving there might through a very narrow paths can be very exciting and nerve wrecking experience. It is quite far away from the town so I would not advise you to walk. The bus stop is 5 minute walk from there (quite a lot of steps involved!). There is a private driveway (secured by an automated pillar) you can park your car on. Carmen who runs this B&B is a lovely Italian lady who speaks a little English and who you would judge straight away as friendly, genuine and helpful. She lives in this big house with her Family. The guest rooms are in the newly decorated attic. There are 3 bedrooms with a shared, very light and airy dining/living area. The terrace is absolutely lovely. All pots with different flowers and plants make it look beautiful. But you can't beat the views from the terrace!!! Breathtaking! Carmen tried to make my stay enjoyable by even giving me a bus ticket for free or by making a lovely breakfast (tea, home made cake and croissant). I would sincerely recommend staying in this place. You won't regret it.

Review 44:We stayed at La Soffitta for five nights and enjoyed our hosts relaxed and friendly BnB. Carmen is friendly and easy to communicate with, she makes homemade breakfast cakes every morning and brings with it good coffee, conversation and very handy local information such as bus routes, where to visit, and where to get the best local produce. While we were there we visited Vietre Sul Mare, Solerno and Amalfie, all accessed by bus which was very easy and convenient. We were very pleased that our host recommended local restaurants as the food was just fantastic. Carmen provided a very clean and comfortable room and bathroom, great facilities, with a terrace area that overlooks the coast line with 360 degree views, and we enjoyed that space every afternoon before venturing out to dinner. You must note from the web site that this BnB does not have credit card facilities and you must understand you will need to pay your full accommodation by cash. Thank you La Soffita Sul Mare for your family’s hospitality we enjoyed it immensely and will recommend to anyone to stay.

Review 45:The overnight thunderstorm which spoiled our chance to have breakfast outside.

Review 47:Access to restaurants and bars not easy
