Reviews for Diamond Hotel

Review 1:Beautifully restored and maintained historic building. Awesome restaurant, friendly staff, nothing even a little bit off, undone, or annoying. Basically the perfect hotel.

Review 2:This is a cute and quaint hotel with charm. The rooms were large and very clean. The staff was friendly and responsive. I found the onsite lounge and restaurant both sides o have excellent and unique options. Right in the middle of town, convenient to walk everywhere!!! Loved it will stay again.

Review 3:I didn't like the fact that I had to shower standing in water 3 inches deep because of faulty plumbing. I didn't like that the insufficient light in either room. I didn't like that I had to ask where the hair dryer was. I didn't like that there was no body lotion when usually it is provided in hotels, so I didn't bring mine. I didn't like the mirrored door coming off the closet. I didn't like the red flashing light on the phone even after telling the front desk about it. I didn't like begging for a lower bill when complaining about what we didn't like. That should have been an automatic response from the desk clerk. No one offered baggage help or valet parking!!

Review 4:I liked the fact that we had sufficient room to have our friends in to visit and rehearse our farewell song to our dying friends. I liked that there was a package of snacks to serve my friends. I liked the roominess.

Review 5:The staff was rude and unimpressionable. We were misinformed and advised by hotel staff twice when confirming hotel reservations that no reservations were needed for the restaurant on the night were going. We were put in an embarrassing situation...

Review 6:The beds were comfortable.

Review 7:Room was very clean. My wife loves it when she enters a room and can still smell hint of bleach. Friendly staff, especially in the restaurant. Breakfast was very good and modestly priced.

Review 8:The room to our door had a large gap around it allowing light and noise in from the hall way, there were young kids running around unattended paying in the elevator, the water temperature in the shower would not stay consistent and one of the Windows would not close all the way, opened about 1/2 inch allowing cold air in. Spent almost $300 for one night for this room, not worth it, will never stay there again.

Review 9:The architecture was beautiful.

Review 10:Loved the historic feel of the hotel and right in the heart of downtown Chico. Walking distance to fun shopping and good restaurants. Also appreciated the amenities in the room like Aveda products.

Review 11:It would have been nice to know that the restaurant and bar were under construction when I booked the room!

Review 12:Nice rooms - housekeeping was awesome. Jaki at the front desk was very helpful.

Review 13:Our only complaint, is that it was a very hot summer day, so it was necessary to run the AC all night, but the blankets on the bed were for winter. It was difficult to find a comfortable temperature.

Review 14:Location is great, the facilities are beautiful, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent!

Review 15:1. Breakfast not up to much. Nasty sausages. 2. Loud machine noise from equipment directly above my sitting room, probably air conditioning unit? Severely reduces attraction of the room.

Review 16:Good location, beautiful room - I had a king executive suite. Charming and helpful staff.

Review 17:Window wouldn't close and it is a bit noisy in the A.M. with street sweepers (with an open window) I'm sure they will fix this, once it is noticed. The staff seems to pay attention to details.

Review 18:Staff was incredible. Rooms were large and classic early 1900's. Nice breakfast buffet. Free parking

Review 19:The only bummer is that the restaurant/bar downstairs was closed for remodeling I think.

Review 20:I've stayed at hotel diamond several time and will continue to come back. There is no other hotel this close to downtown! The price is higher than other places, but well worth it. I'll be back!

Review 21:The hotel does not have secured parking. You have to park in public parking garage next door. Car window was smashed during the night. According to a local business, it is a common occurance. A lot of homeless in area.

Review 22:The room was clean and beds comfortable.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Only stayed one night but found the hotel to be in a good location for access to restaurants etc. staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again

Review 25:Ironically, we stayed at a hotel in another city costing the same price the night before. The "other" guys came in and turned the bed down, put chocolates on the pillows and slippers beside the bed, provided luxurious bath and toiletries, including jetted tub and separate shower, cookies and chocolate at check in and a cd and dvd for your enjoyment. The bathroom at the Diamond was plain and boring and the television was of poor quality. I would say that I doubt Chico has much in the way of "need" for a luxury hotel and perhaps this is the best you can get. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. Restaurant was closed so you got a $10. coupon per person to walk to a cafe 2 blocks away or grab a continental breakfast in the lobby. Just a little overpriced for what you got and for Chico.

Review 26:Staff was friendly and it was centrally located. Parking next door at parking structure was convenient.

Review 27:Had problems with our room key, but they got resolved. The battery needed replacing, a minor inconvenience. The Wi-Fi connection was intermittent and poor. I eventually switched to my data plan.

Review 28:The surprise of a free drink in the bar when I arrived. The complimentary morning breakfast. Lovely ambience, especially in the lobby, bar, and restaurant. Wonderful and friendly service. Thank you!!

Review 29:Staff was helpful and made me aware of a situation with parking, students breaking into cars. I went back to my car to make sure any items were secure. Turns out my interior light was on, the desk clerk saved me from a jump start!

Review 30:While I did call to confirm that the difference between the jr suite and executive suite was an additional room for living space I was told that they both had sofa beds. We arrived to find a over sized chair instead. We were counting on that sofa bed! No other rooms available. But they did provide us with a roll away.

Review 31:Exterior lighting did not sufficiently highlight the beautiful Victorian entry.

Review 32:The staff, convenient parking & location. The restaurant was top notch and the house wine was delightful. Plan to stay again soon.

Review 33:A little loud around 2 a.m. but understandable in heart of college town. Just be prepared for about 30 minutes after the bars close.

Review 34:Visited on business....great location, fabulous restaurants in walking distance, safe underground parking, kitchen staff was amazing in preparing breakfast while understanding our time crunch. Executive Suite suited the need for plenty of room to work late in comfort of sitting room and kitchen. Have a trial coming up....and will be back.

Review 35:It's a very pleasant place to stay!

Review 36:Parking.

Review 37:Rooms were very clean. I also liked that we were in downtown. We could walk everywhere no need to drive.

Review 38:Comfort and class blend well with excellent service. We look forward to our next stay at the Diamond.

Review 39:I loved the old hotel in the center of town. I loved the décor and the quaintness.

Review 40:No view from window.

Review 41:Lovely hotel, very luxurious.

Review 42:I love to stay at this hotel. The staff is always friendly, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are beautiful.

Review 43:Hotel is centrally located. We walked to Farmers' Market, restaurants and shops.

Review 44:Shower head did not flow properly

Review 45:Decor was very nice

Review 46:Breakfast was in a temporary space that was uncomfortably warm

Review 47:Location to restaurants and downtown room was large nice and clean

Review 48:Everything, especially excellent breakfast

Review 49:censored internet. dangerous high curb at check-in

Review 50:large clean room

Review 51:Better coffee at breakfast

Review 52:Loved the corner room.

Review 53:Friendly atmosphere and close to downtown. Clean and comfortable bed.

Review 54:Bar and restaurant not open

Review 55:The bar and restaurant were closed for construction.

Review 56:Large comfortable room ideally located.

Review 57:The bar area closed early

Review 58:The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. The close proximity to the restaurants and shops was very nice.

Review 59:The adjacent parking garage where hotel guests park has been the target of break-ins recently. the night we stayed our car was spared but several other guests awoke to a smashed window and stolen contents from their cars. Sad. It has happened repeatedly and is a problem being addressed, but beware.

Review 60:We asked about a gym facility and they gave us complementary tickets to a local gym that had it all - pools sauna, steam room, every imaginable exercise machine. Excellent value.

Review 61:The drawers in our room didn't open correctly. Couldn't put anything in the top drawer. Had to pull hard on the drawers to get them open and they got jammed together.

Review 62:Loved having our delicious breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Our waitress was friendly and efficient !

Review 63:No facility to charge our electric vehicle. It was a serious inconvenience to go to Enloe hospital or an RV park for a charge. In this respect, they need to get into the 21st century.

Review 64:Gorgeous hotel with bay windows and antique furniture. Wonderful restaurant and great complimentary breakfast. Perfectly located in downtown Chico.

Review 65:Whats not to like?

Review 66:Lots of extras including great breakfast for free. The rooms are individually decorated and very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 67:The wi-fi was slow with a little difficulty staying connected. There was quite a wait for the elevator sometimes. If we were going downstairs we ended up just walking down the stairs rather than waiting on an elevator.

Review 68:We had a wonderful breakfast that was included in the price of the room. Wi-fi was also included in the price of the room. There was a small fridge in the room for our use which had complimentary water in it. The staff was very helpful when I had a problem. It was a great stay. I love staying here.

Review 69:My room was excellent and I was impressed that I could open up the window to let air in. What I didn't like was that it faced the parking garage so the noise was constant all night long. I didn't realize that on a Sunday night there would be so many people in and out in the wee hours. I closed the window eventually but then Monday morning there came the street sweeper.....

Review 70:I loved that this hotel is in the middle of downtown. Theprice was so reasonable considering you get a free drink, breakfast in the morning and parking. The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 71:Since I was only there solo and overnight I didn't use any of the extra amenities so the price was a little steep, This isn't the usual reason people stay at the Diamond. If you're there as a couple, it's worth every penny.

Review 72:Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was nice, beds VERY comfortable. Since I travel light, I liked that I could self park and handle my own bag to my room. I don't know when the official check out time is, but I was in the room until 11:00 without housekeeping coming to the door. A big thumbs up, I've been in hotels where they were at the door at 8:00AM.

Review 73:Noise in the street side suites is a bit bothersome in the early mornings. But if you're an early riser, this isn't much of an issue.

Review 74:Location is perfect. We come to town frequently to visit our daughter, who attends Chico State. Walking distance to downtown restaurants, bars, farmers' market.

Review 75:Television (2) didn't work

Review 76:My driver's window was smashed in the garage during the night time. Apparently this has been happening lately.

Review 77:Great staff

Review 78:price a bit high. not many parking spots for guests on hotel side of parking lot.

Review 79:service, location, complimentary full breakfast,

Review 80:The couch in our suite could of used cleaning. I just took the green bed runner and covered it

Review 82:Very clean. Excellent location. Exceptional customer service. Breakfast included.

Review 83:Would Definately go back!

Review 84:Bar closed early

Review 85:The style was first class Windows that open Free parking comfortable bed

Review 86:N/A
